《Author Vs Protagonist》Chapter 17: Divisions

In an office located in the central compound of Zarion Academy. A man is looking through several documents. Who was this man? It was the Headmaster of Zarion Academy itself, Vincent Cromwell. It was a typical day for him, he had done a few experiments and was now inspecting the documents that needed authorization.
As he took a sip of his tea, an old man burst into the door with a panicked stricken face. “Headmaster, Headmaster! There’s been an incident.”, the man said hurriedly. The headmaster choked a bit on his tea and was visibly annoyed.
The headmaster, Vincent put down his cup and started to reprimand this man, “For the last time, Angelo, don’t just burst in like that. How bad is this incident that you can’t handle it yourself?”. Vincent was a bit irritated. He was just about to relax a bit until Angelo suddenly came.
The man was stuttering, “There, um … We had an assessment participant that set a new high score for spirit energy”. He did not know how to word it properly as a situation like this had never happened. What was he going to say? A 16 year old youth was has higher spirit energy than most level 5 Martial Practitioners?
Vincent looked a lot more interested, whenever a new genius came, he would be the one who was most excited. As he took a sip of tea, he asked Angelo, “So how many points did this genius get? is it 19, or could it possible be 20?”
“The participant got .. um … 60 points”, the old man said slowly.
"Umu ... Phewtt" Vincent was too busy thinking about a great new addition to the academy, that he actually failed to notice what Angelo had said at first.
When he got a second and thought about it, he actually digested the situation and was shocked to the point he spit the entire tea he was drinking straight to Angelo's face.

Angelo, did not even flinch and started to wipe away the tea from his face with a handkerchief. He then replied, “Very sure Sir. The assessment crystal showed that he was exactly 16 years old.”. Hearing this Vincent fell back into his chair. He still could not process the information he was just given.
What was the concept of 60 points of spirit energy? Spirit energy is the core essence that is used in almost everything. For Martial Arts, spirit energy is needed for the usage of skills, and the higher the Level of skill, the higher the cost of spirit energy. A normal Level 1 skill cost around 5 spirit energy and a Level 2 skill cost double of that amount.
However, when you get to Level 3 skills, they at minimum require 25 points. After that they start to exponentially increase. Even the most powerful Level 4 expert had at most 58 points of spirit energy. To have 60 points of spirit energy at 16 years of age, proved that he had a very bright future.
Vincent, being the calculative man that he is, weighed in all the options here, and turned to Angelo, “Is it possible for us to acquire him?”, his expression was very serious.
Angelo seeing the look in the look in Vincent’s face, also replied with seriousness, “Highly unlikely. The rest of the division heads have probably gotten the news. It's will be impossible for those sh*ts to sit by and do nothing to get in our way."
Vincent’s expression turned grim. At this point they were at an impasse. If someone tried to recruit this new genius openly, they would be obstructed immediately.
Should I risk it? I still have my authority as a headmaster. However, I can't guarantee that they won't start a riot if I did this.

After thinking about it, he ordered Angelo to block any student from trying to sway this new genius towards any division and restrict the information so that it will not leak to the general public.
What he had to do now is to make sure that this genius does not fall into the opposition’s hand.
After giving out the order, his face calmed down a bit before asking Angelo, “Oh right, I forgot to ask. What’s his name?”. Angelo replied, “His name is .. “.

“Mr Roland”
A clerk called Zhang Wei to the reception desk to hand out his school insignia and uniform attire. As for why Zhang Wei chose the name Roland as his cover name, it was because it was the name of the protagonist from the novel that he liked back on earth.
It was absolutely not because the real Author actually forgot to include a fake name two chapters ago and made a totally random name with a random excuse 5 minutes before writing this line.
After receiving all the basic necessities, Zhang Wei went and immediately changed to his new school attire. As he walked out of the Admission Department’s main building a tall man was waiting outside for him.
The man introduced himself as a school guide, and said that he will show Zhang Wei around the academy. Along the way he told Zhang Wei of structure of the academy.
The academy consisted of 5 compounds, that are controlled by the 4 divisions and the school board.
The northern compound is controlled by the Medical Division,
East compound is controlled by the Forgery division,
The Duel Division controls the west compound,
Refining division controls the southern compound.
Each of the divisions are autonomous and can accept their own disciples based on their standards, however they still must send reports of their activities to the school board located in the central compound.
Students that had just entered the academy will be put under the central compound and are considered as outer disciples. When one has passed the test for a division, he or she will be accepted as an inner disciple of that division.
The divisions all have their own rules and regulations, but the amount of resource they provide could not be compared. This is the main reason why students work so hard to pass the test laid out by the divisions. After explaining a few more things to Zhang Wei, the tall man went back to to his own office.
Zhang Wei thought hard about where he should go. He had the overpowered system and did not need any resource to strengthen himself.
He remembered that the quest the Author gave was investigating the strange atmosphere between the headmaster and Division Head Nar.
Initially he did not know which division Nar was from, but the tall man had given him a brief introduction and he found out that she is the head of the Medical Division. In order to complete the quest, he decided to try out for the Medical Division.
It’s definitely not because the division head is a very pretty and attractive woman. Yeah definitely not…

Right Side of Hell
Albus Dumbledore was sure he made the right choice sacrificing an innocent child. Too late he understood how terrible that mistake was. Harry Potter was not what he wanted him to be, he was not what the magical world expected him to be. He was not a replica of James, instead, he inherited more of Lily. Far too much to be convenient.

A Demon Lord's Reincarnation
Selina’s got a pretty active imagination. When doing math, she pretends that she is a great detective solving a heinous crime! Ordinary tasks, like a trip upstairs, turn into a perilous adventure to raid a dragon’s cave! She believes that life should be full of wonder and magic, and tries to force the world to cope with her conviction! But when Selina wakes up to remember her past life as the Demon Lord, she has to face the fact that real life is messy, and not anything like what she imagined. With ancient powers stirring, family problems, and the hectic life of a teenager, Selina will have to discover more about herself if she is going to survive the trials ahead. With the help of her best friend and a fair share of luck, she might just get through this alive. Maybe. (Updates (hopefully) on Sundays) This story started out as a flipped isekai. Instead of a hero being pulled into a medieval world, a Demon Lord is pulled into the modern world. It has since moved a bit beyond that initial premise but it is the foundation of the work. Along the way, I threw in dragons, elves, dwarves, and some vampires (but no werewolves, gotta nip that in the bud) all wrapped up in the political drama of a modern world. The story, however, will mainly focus on the characters and their development and as such, is a bit of a slow burn. It may take a couple of chapters to get into. You have been warned! (PS, please show patience for the author's notes. They're a bit crazy and don't always make the most sense. The author's a bit of a ditz. Please ignore him.)

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)
