《Author Vs Protagonist》Chapter 12: Caught

In a small tavern located in the town square, a man is enjoying a drink. This man wore a long black robe that covered his whole body, not a single area exposed his skin. In front of him is an already warm jar of beer, it seemed like it had been sitting there, untouched. He was quite reserved in his actions, whatever he did, he made sure to not let anyone see how he looked like. While he sat there, he was listening in on the conversation of two women sitting on the table beside him.
“Have you heard, there seems to be an ugly bad person going around stealing lollipops from kids all around the middle district.”, the woman’s mocking tone sounded.
“Gosh, what a scumbag. Why haven’t the security force issued an arrest warrant? He should be expelled from the middle district.”, the other woman’s eyes were full of contempt. In her view, no matter how terrible you are, you should not be stealing candy from kids.
“Apparently, he is an expert. You remember Andrew right? He said that that man was at least a Level 4 Martial Practitioner, Andrew couldn’t even catch up to him even if he tried. Anyway, he didn’t actually do any serious crime, so the security force did not want to offend an expert by putting an arrest warrant for stealing a lollipops from children.”, the woman said as she took a sip of her drink.
“Well sure but, … it sure is pathetic isn’t it? I mean if you’re an expert of that level, surely there has to be a better use for your abilities, right?”, she did not understand. An expert of that level would typically have a high ranking job in the city. Is stealing lollipops from kids that fun?

“Beats me. He must be a weirdo I guess.”
The man in the black robe listened to to two women’s conversation and turned sour. That’s right, this is the man those women were talking about, Zhang Wei. Too think that I stooped to this level. Sigh. It wasn’t his fault, it was the quest … is what he wanted to scream. However, he knew that he could not explain, what was he going to say? The great heavens gave me quest to steal five lollipops from kids? He would get scorned at if he tried that.
Speaking of the quest, he had almost finished it. As of now, he had acquired a total of 4 lollipops. The second and third lollipops he acquired from twins who were in a playground, meanwhile the fourth was acquired from a little girl who was waiting outside a store for her parents, in the market square. He took a break since his mind was breaking down from the mental stress, which is when he saw this tavern. He sneakily stole a black robe from a nearby store and went inside. He didn’t even buy a drink, he merely used his speed to steal one and sneakily hid in a corner. Apparently his thieving tendencies are starting to develop.
After some time, he he saw that the sun was starting to go down. Since he thought that kids were harder to find at night, he had to finish the quest now. He went out of the tavern and went back to the lane where he stole the first lollipop. To his surprise, the street still had many people moving about. He was observing the crowd when he spotted a little boy, with a bright look on his face. The boy held a lollipop and was sitting on a bench on the side of a street.

Wait a minute! That’s the same kid I stole the first lollipop from. Well since you’re here … Forgive me child, for I will sin. The quest detail didn’t say that he needed to get 5 lollipops from 5 different kids. So it was technically alright to steal from the same child. Doing as he did before, he went in front of the kid with a mean look.
The boy’s innocent face suddenly turned sour, is this deja vu? His face seemingly knew what was going to happen. As soon as Zhang Wei snatched the lollipop, the boy cried immediately. Everyone around them turned their eyes towards the boy and noticed something familiar, Don’t tell me it’s happening again? Mr expert for someone of your level, why are you stealing lollipops from children? And why did you steal from the same child twice, do you have a grudge against that child?
Zhang Wei felt like daggers were stabbing at him as he noticed their expressions. He tucked his head down and prepared to run away, before out of nowhere a person grabbed his robe. That person shouted, “Filthy scum! how dare you bully a child.”
He did not actually grab ahold of the Zhang Wei, but he did manage to rip off Zhang Wei’s robe. When he looked up to see this scumbag’s face, he was shocked, “Sir Zhang?”. Turns out the person who tore off Zhang Wei’s robe was the very person he saved earlier, Weakling 1.
Fuck out of all the people who could have seen me it’s this (The real Author still could not give half a sh*t to name him) Weakling 1.
Zhang Wei felt dizzy, his mind suddenly thought of a plan. He grabbed Weakling 1 by the collar and ran away from the scene. Everyone round them were befuddled, What just happened?
Zhang Wei took Weakling 1 to a back alley and thought about what to do with him. Since this idiot recognizes me, I have to make sure word doesn’t get out. Should I kill him? Nah, that would lead to an even bigger problem. Hmmm … Alright, let’s do this then. Zhang Wei thought as an evil smirked appeared.

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.

The Huntsman's Quest (An Urban Magic Quest/RPG)
Jon Whitaker went to summer camp expecting a nice relaxing time as a newly minted counselor in training. He was not expecting to fight an army of monsters, work with a serial killer, enter a one-sided friendship with an eldritch horror, or study under a competing witch and dark lord. But regardless of what he was expecting, his summer is over and he's made his way back home where he can try and return to a normal -for him- life. Too bad life rarely goes as expected. --- Please Note: This is forum quest/RPG I run in the same city/setting as my other stories Hacking Reality and Get Ink'd, meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.

Appless
Hi. I'm Eric Mohammed, an appless high-school drop-out. You're probably expecting me to write an elaborate description with a compelling hook here. You would be wrong because I don't give a fuck. You see, this is the story of me getting absolutely shafted in a multitude of ways by a multitude of interesting parties. I don't need to sell it. Have fun reading, or don't. — Eric P.S: Just in case one of you fuckers hacks my phone and gets this published somewhere on the internet and someone leaves a bad review, I'm gonna wreck their shit and yours. Just sayin'. I'll have you know my story is amazing, got that? The damaged file attached above was retrieved by unit \0x2D4FFFFFu on 42/89/0504T00:00:45.0410Z AE, during a salvage operation.
