《I Was Reincarnated as Someone's Mana??》Chapter Six: The Revolutionary Forces of West Pralleria

Day quickly turned to night. Nobody visited Allan, so I was left to caring for him, feeding him some more milk, exercising with him (he really liked moving about and would laugh his bubbly little laugh whenever he got the chance to crawl about) and exercising myself as well, until…
- You have gained 1 exp. Exp has hit 10/10, you have leveled up to Lv.2. Mana storage has increased from 10(+10) to 20(+20). 20 exp required to level up. -
Oho? Ohohohoho?
I quickly set down the happily giggling Allan, grinning to myself.
I knew this would come. Huheuheuhe.
Allan didn’t really understand why I was so happy, but he chimed in with a “kukukuku…”
Hey, what’s with that spooky laughter??
Babies don’t laugh like that???
Ahhh, anyhow!
I no longer hear any activity downstairs, so I’m going to guess everybody’s gone to sleep. Nighttime… prime time to snoop!
I’m feeling kinda tired, guess even mana has to sleep, but…
Gotta take a look around first!
I try out what I’ve been waiting to do for a long time.
Marlene could see me if she really tried, and I don’t want that, so…
I gently float/disappear through the floor and into the storage room below.
“Ga!?”
Oh, right, I don’t know how or why, but Allan can see me, which is good since he doesn’t get surprised when I disappear, but…
“...uu…”
I’d really like it if he didn’t cry!
Popping up my head through the ceiling, I wave slightly to Allan, who immediately stops crying and instead starts laughing and clapping his clubby little hands.
Good, good…
Alright you just sit there real tight, alright?
Reeeaaaal, tigggghhhtt…
Slowly, I removed myself from the room, Allan giggled slightly before promptly falling asleep. I’ve never seen such a lazy baby but for the moment, it’s good news.

Let’s see what’s beyond this wall-, huh?
I peeked into the room right behind the stairs, hoping to find something interesting, and, well…
That I sure did.
Unlike the other rooms in the house, this room was fairly well maintained, various red cloths hanging on the walls all fancy-like. In the middle of the rather large room was a round table of dark, gorgeous oak. There was a red cloth laying on it that must have been velvet or some other fancy material.
Now that I look closer, all the red cloths had a peculiar golden crest engraven on them. It looked like a three-pointed star, and it had what looked like a golden olive-branch below it, along with a scissor almost cutting said olive-branch in two.
Looked very… “political-organization-ish”...
Everything looked very fancy.
Around the round table were thirteen men and women in fancy suits and dresses. One of them was Arthur.
There was a clamour of sorts in the room, and it really felt as if everybody was murmuring, that is, until Arthur cleared his throat and stood up.
I barely recognized him.
He was wearing a military-looking uniform in black and red, as well as a cap of the same colours. His chest was jeweled with countless golden medals with designs I had never seen before. Most of them included either the olive-branch being cut or the three-pointed star.
All and all, he looked like an extremely high-ranking officer of the military. Or something.
“Honored ladies and gentlemen, it is my humble privilege to welcome you all to this evening's meeting of the Revolutionary Forces of Pralleria. As the chairman of the west branch of this glorious organization, Arthur Woodsworth, I bid thee welcome. (here he nodded to a woman sitting placidly beside him who certainly wasn’t Marlene) The first issue on today’s agenda is the recent marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Lillywhite!”

The whole party stood up to give a courteous hand to the newlyweds, who both blushed and smiled.
Wh-, what is this?...
“Now, as for the matter of my son, whom I introduce to you all yesterday… as it turns out, he may very well be a genius. Isn’t that right, Henry?” Arthur said, turning his gaze to Henry, who was sitting to the left of him, wearing more common evening-wear(a top-hat, monocle, long-coat and carrying a staff), who nodded as a reply.
“After a long day of thinking, I have decided that weather or not my wife Marlene agrees or not, he must be kept as a valuable future asset for the Revolutionary Forces,” Arthur said with great conviction. The listeners clapped excitedly.
I think this is quite enough for today. This is really… quite overwhelming.
“But if we can’t use him, we must kill him,” Arthur added just as I floated through the wall. Henry nodded solemnly.
But as I returned to Allans room…
Eh?
Where’s Allan?

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
