Chapter 12 Part 1

The Spacer's Debut

Marneus and Solide thunder down the hallway heading towards the lab. With each couple steps, an energy pulse waves through the hallway, either knocking them down or making them stumble a couple steps depending on the size of the wave. The closer they get to the lab, the more they feel something is out of place.

As soon as they reach the lab, the only word to describe would be chaos. Everything within had been upturned and heaved to the sides of the room and a massive energy storm billowed about within. Documents and random cartoons scratched on pieces of lab paper fly around the room as a direct result of the massive energy fluctuations within the storm.

Dr. Cleo is holding on tightly to her command console as she tries to maintain her eyes on the ongoing experiment taking place within the glass tanks. Seemingly oblivious to her surroundings, the two entering from the back immediately look towards the source of the storm.

The glass tanks are brightly glowing with an ethereal white light with the massed energy being emitted by both figures within. Just as he was about to move further in, Marneus looks down at the foot of the tanks and notices something disturbing in the extreme.

Fenris was writhing around on the ground, as if a toddler had gotten ahold of a marionette and was tossing it around the room.

“Solide grab ahold of Fenris!!” he screams out while pointing towards the helpless Naeri.

Just as Solide was about to move however, the glass on both of the tanks shatter, exploding outwards in an attempt to levy the ongoing energies wrapped inside. The solution turns into a massive outpouring of steam as the massed energy boils the insides of the tank.

Oddly enough however, both of the occupants within were unscathed. Bazz continued to float within the now glassless tank while being enveloped by a golden energy. Marneus turns to look over at the other tank which was now a house to a being with shining golden skin, as if the previous pallid greyness of the skin had been an afterthought of the beings past life.

The storm continues to swell and churn as the energy within grows stronger with every passing second, slowly stripping the mental barriers of each individual within the lab. Suddenly, the golden bodied being fades slightly, becoming ethereal followed by the bodies of both the beings within the tanks slowly exiting in perfect synchronization. Ever so slowly, they move. Enwrapped in suspense with the ongoing energies being hurled at them, all three of the onlookers continue to stare wide eyed and slack jawed at what is happening in front of them.

The more the two beings come out into the middle of the lab, the closer they get to each other, until they finally meet each other not 2 meters from the command console. The ethereal body slowly merges with Bazz’s body, the glowing indentations turning a cold blue before finally only one body remains floating within the air.

Suddenly, the energy storm that was causing the chaos within the room abruptly stopped, as if freezing everything within it. Papers flying, microscopes and blood vials spilling their contents, and the chairs and an otherwise immovable bolted table near the back of the room nearly tilting on its side, all of it froze. As if time had decided to halt its progress and take a holiday for a moment before all of the energy within the room rushed towards Bazz.

A gust of cold air rushed past the three as they looked on at the man in shock. As soon as all the energy from the storm had been sucked back to him, everything fell to the floor. Consequently, after all of the energy rushed into Bazz’s body, his feet touched back down onto the floor followed by him keeling face first into the ground with a heavy thud.

Soon afterward, cracking sounds appear within the room, wrenching all of their attention even closer to the prone body of the Spacer. The closer they looked, the more awestruck they become. They watched as the cracking sound itself was the indentations previously seen on the body of the Anunnaki were slowly being etched with golden lines within his flesh. The minutes wind on as the cracking process continues, slowly carving out massive tribal looking tattoos all over his body. The scars covering his body however weren’t touched in the slightest. Only covering the already imperceptible lines in his flesh with the golden glow.

It was odd however that none of the tattoos stretched onto his face, only bothering to stop near the middle of his shaven neck.

After the cracking stopped, the three onlookers wondered if the golden light show would slowly fade away or stay there considering the amount of energy that was just expended within the lab. After 10 minutes of waiting, nothing happened.

Not knowing how to react at this point everyone looked at each other, wondering what exactly they have gotten themselves into.

“Was… was this within your calculations Cleo? Please tell me they were.” Marneus asks hesitantly.

Cleo turns towards him with eyes still widened and her mouth still slightly agape.

“This… this wasn’t… nothing that just happened here… all my research… was it not enough? I thought this was going to be simple! This is not how I had thought—”

“Obviously nothing goes as planned. First the volunteers and now our Spacer.” Marneus speaks coldly.

Solide walks over to Bazz and kneels down in an attempt to see if there was any semblance of life still breathing within the man’s ribcage.

“You alight dere buddy boy?”

Bazz makes no movement to signal that he has awakened or is even still alive from the process. Nudging him slightly in the ribs with his boot, Solide looks over at the other two and asks,

“Cleo, is…. is dis guy gonna be alight? I mean he jus came outa dah surgery a couple days ago an now dis ‘appened.”

Cleo looks over at him and then quickly glances over Bazz’s unmoving figure.

“*sigh* I don’t know. If he dies, he should be able to reincarnate. That’s what the High Council explained when they said that there were going to be people from another dimension appearing in our galaxy.” Cleo says in a defeated tone.

“High Council? Dah hell does dat mean? Is dere a council widdin the Centanus Synedrion dat we don’t know ‘bout?” Solide asks with an upraised eyebrow.

“Don’t we have more important things to worry about at the moment? Like whether or not this Spacer is going to wake up or not?” Cleo asks nervously.

Solide and Marneus shrug.

“Well, all we can do is wait for the moment and right now seems as good a time as any seeing as we know next to nothing when it comes to the actual members of the Centanus Synedrion. Why don’t you explain it to us seeing as we have time to spare?” Marneus replies.

“…..Fine. The High Council of the Centanus Synedrion then. They are the ones that have the final say when it comes to the democratic process that…”

And so began the great explanation of the galactic government within the galaxy…

Meanwhile…

~Wak…. Wake u…. ello? …. Wakey wakey …. ~

Bazz slowly lapses back into consciousness with an interesting voice seemingly nagging at him from within his brain. A pain that felt like someone was slowly driving nails under your fingertips was wafting throughout his brain.

~HELLO??? WAKE UP BUTTERCUP!! ~

~PERITE ET EDE FAECAM TU FILIUS CANIS!! ~

Silence greets him within his mind as he finally gets a moment to himself. The pain not seeming to subside anytime soon, he decides to finally try and listen to his surroundings.

~What does that even mean you little ku’sh? ~

Waiting a moment to respond, he collects his senses and thinks,

~A rough translation of that would be ‘Fuck off and eat shit you son of a bitch!’ and judging by this colossal headache that you’ve given me, I believe that this is an accurate description of what I should say to you given the fact that you have forced yourself within my body! ~

Silence greets him again as a direct result of his forceful behavior towards the new tenant within his body. Just as he starts to try and listen in on his surroundings, Ninurta starts up again.

~By the way, this seems like a fairly sturdy body that you have here. Just enough to hold my power in check… well what’s left of it anyway. I would say that you have maybe a month before all of the energy explodes. Oh and you never said that you had a soulbond, I didn’t expect to see something that delicate so soon. My power may have leaked over into the other being however sooo… yeah. Sowy ~

~You WHAT?!?!~

~Oh if it isn’t too much to ask, how many years have I been out? ~

Silence is the only response Ninurta gets as Bazz starts silently worrying about Fenris.

~If you are worrying about the soulbound pet, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Guessing from the type of power that leaked, it seems that I have lost some of my intellectual power. This basically means that your pet may now grow into being the smartest and biggest of its race. That is the good side to this, on the flip side… well…there isn’t an easy way to say this. You only inherited three of my skills but consequently refined a current skill that you already have…which is weird. ~

The uneasiness grew more pronounced within him as he heard this, more so directed at Fenris than the lack of skills that he had possibly lost. He starts refocusing his senses on his immediate surroundings and manages to catch the last of a seemingly uninteresting conversation,

“… avelers are typically chosen for their versatility and overall combat effectiveness.” Cleo says.

“Dat’s all very nice and intrestin Cleo but how can we compete wid dah otha races when it comes to dah Bowl that’ll be happenin in a couple o’ years?”

“You can start by accepting the ‘volunteers’ that you have used in order to make me.” Bazz interrupts seemingly from everywhere, consequently scaring the piss out of everyone in the room, himself included.

The reason that he himself was scared was because of the fact that his voice had enveloped a portion of the Anunnaki’s voice into his own. His own already low voice had taken the dark-overlord-of-destruction type qualities of Ninurta and incorporated them into his own.

Cautiously looking around the room, the three standing individuals huddle with their backs to each other and simultaneously bringing out their respective weapons. Marneus and Solide standard issue pistols and bluish energy springs forth from Cleo’s hands as they clench into fists. Three pairs of eyes frantically searched the dimly lit room, looking for the source of the voice that had rung out all around them.

~By the waaayyyy, I’ve been listening in on the conversation ever since we merged and it seems to me like this Solide fellow is extremely talented at hiding his intelligence from people. The reason I say this is because of my uncle… Bah, never mind. ~

Confusion wracks his mind as he hears this and decides to shelve that topic away for later in his mind. He slowly puts his hands on the ground and started lifting himself up. All three of the humans locked onto the glowing man and watched as he slowly stood up from the floor. His eyes were closed the entire time.

As he stands up, he feels a stiffness in his joints and muscles that made him stretch a little as he tried to get himself back up to par.

“Ummm…is everything alright princess?” Marneus asks in a wavering voice.

Bazz’s eyes flash open, causing the three to have a hesitant breath. His eyes had taken on the same color as the indentation filled tattoos on his body, only it wasn’t covered up. The piercing grey of his eyes now had a small golden ring lining the pupil. Seeping out from the golden ring were miniscule tendrils, as if in the form of a black sun radiating its own manner of brilliance.

Looking down, he stares directly into each of their eyes with a deadpan expression.

“What the hell do you think?”

The three humans jump again at the voice, not expecting the voice to be coming from him.

“There is something that confuses me however. Captain Solide, step forward please.” Bazz says this in a quiet yet forceful tone.

Marneus and Cleo look straight at Solide, wondering what he could have done to compelled this Spacer to ask for him specifically. Stepping slightly in front of the other two, he replies with a small shiver,

“Wassup?”

“Why do you speak the way you do? I can tell that you are highly intelligent by your actions and yet you choose to speak in that way. Explain the reason please.”

Surprised by the question being asked, Solide becomes hesitant to respond. After a couple minutes of thinking he replies with a different kind of diction,

“Well I guess one way of explaining that is that it keeps those around me guessing. I give them the preconceived notion that I’m just a big dumb brute but when those same people try to do something to me, I would then act out of the ordinary. It gives a certain kind of advantage for me. Though whether the act of me acting as another person entirely or the fact that I choose not to be myself is entirely dependent on who I am with. Does that answer your question?”

If Solide could look behind him, he would see that both Dr. Cleo and Marneus were slack jawed in shock at his response using perfect grammar. They had gotten to know the man based on what he had shone in the past which was exactly as he entailed, but they hadn’t counted on what had just transpired.

“Yes, I believe that sums up a suitable answer. Now if you don’t mind, we have a different…”

His speech halts as he sees a page blinking in his field of vision indicating multiple pages were stacked. He nudges it slightly with a hand to open them.

The minutes pass as he looks at his new and improved skills.

“Ummm…”

He looks down at the disturbing voice. Cleo had her hands clutched to her chest and was currently trying to find a way to get close to him to ask something. Worry lines clearly showed all around her face.

Turning off the Voice Manipulation, he decides to humor her.

“Yes, what is it Dr. Cleo?”

Her stance slackens with relief seeing as he had allegedly returned to a semi-normalness. Walking up to him slowly, she asks,

“What was the Psi tune that you have acquired? I sincerely hope that you—”

“Ummm hold on…”

Bringing back up the previous pages, he finds the one stating the new Psi tune and pushes it open.

Psionic tuning has successfully completed! Your Psi tune now whistles to Energy Manipulation

He pushes for more information on the tuning and another page pops up in front of him.

Energy Manipulation:

Anything and everything in the Universe and Aethelion uses energy to move, breathe, and function. Only one race was known for being able to manipulate and bind that energy to their will. Those that harkened to the manipulation of energy, always had a core motto:

Your thoughts are but the ideas to be cast. The energy, your colors. And reality, your canvas. Only your mind can shackle you to your fate.

Looking at the page before him, he swipes it away and looks at the three humans.

“Before I can answer that question, I need to ask you something first. Where did you find the body of that being?”

Visibly caught off guard with the query, she turns to Marneus for the answer.

“It was found inside the Belt somewhere near a Rift on the edge of Actinian Sector, mind you that is located somewhere close to the galactic edge… Why do you ask?” Marneus answers for her.

Bazz looks at each of them in turn and sighs slightly.

“What I am about to tell you will probably not sit well with any of you. That being was still partially alive, his name is—”

“Ku’sena boy! I can introduce myself!”

The diabolically low voice cuts in during his explanation coming from his own mouth, making all of them jump. Suddenly, the lighted eyes turn a deep crimson instead of the luscious golden yellow it was before. The black of the pupil thins to a narrow slit, making it almost cat-like in appearance. The golden tribal lines all across his body slowly turn a deep shade of crimson while beginning to edge along his body in a chaotic rhythm, as if there was no semblance of order in the mans genes.

“You genlen really need to make sure that you know when something is dead when it comes to other species. Fortunately for you, I was dead but still kicking… annnnnyyyway, it is my distinct pleasure to meet the ku’sh who found me a body. You may call me Ninurta, the Avatar of War.” Ninurta says in a stately tone through Bazz’s lips.

Looking up at the changed person, Cleo’s face drained of color as she listened to the self-introduction.

“I bet you are wondering why my body is no longer here in this room. Let’s just say that I feel a little…attached… to my source of power. In any event, let’s just say that if this boy dies…” Ninurta continues.

Each of the humans were waiting with bated breath for the end of the sentence considering they felt that something indeed hinged on the Spacer in front of them. Ninurta’s next words however, made them cringe.

“…Everything within this solar system and the surrounding systems will be vaporized. The planets’, stars, fleets, everything that exists will be torn from reality. Even if he doesn’t die, within a month my power will burst from his body.”

The seed of fear had been placed, for how long it will fester, only they will know. Ninurta smiles inwardly a little bit and savors their juicy flavors of fear and horror before he decides on one last thing.

“Well, that’s it little genlen. I’m going to sleep now, and don’t wake me unless—”

“How can we fix this so that you won’t explode?!” spoken simultaneously by all three humans in the room.

Fear stricken eyes and horrified faces were plenty within the room. But regardless of what they had asked, Bazz’s body was already returning to its previous form of glowing golden tribal lines around his body. His eyes were already returning back to their previous sun-like qualities.

~Ninurta, that question of theirs concerns me as well. How exactly do we stop my body from exploding due to your energy? ~

Silence greeted him for a moment before he is told one word.

~Fine~

Trying to coax more information out of him he asks,

~What do I need to— ~

~Find my mace, Sharur. But be warned…~

A heavy pressure fills his entire body, nearly forcing him to his knees.

~What you have asked may bring chaos to this galaxy. Granted that may make it fun but that entirely depends on you, my dear ku’sh.~

His eyes widen considerably at the new page that had just appeared in front of him.

“What, what is it? Speak to us boy! We don’t have a lot of time to waste here!” Marneus speaks to him frantically.

Bazz slowly turns towards him and speaks four words softly,

“There is a way…”

----------------------------------------

“God damnit, pick up damn you!!” Clive yells into his helmet.

Clive is surrounded by numerous other fighter pilots in grey and yellow jump suits as they check their gear. His own flight suit is a bright red and yellow with a hint of orange trim along the sides, a little baggy down the middle but otherwise a tight fit for the young man with his mechanical limbs.

“What’s up Hoss? Didn’t misplace your jack-spanner again didja?” a slightly chuckling middle-aged man speaks to him from a nearby ammo crate.

Clive turns to him with a confused look plastered to his face.

“I knew something was up when he wouldn’t respond to my {whisp}. Ever since that announcement came up for everyone, I had a feeling it had something to do with him.”

As those last words were spoken, everyone within earshot turned towards him with questioning looks on their faces. The middle-aged man hops off the crate and slowly walks towards him.

“What do you mean by that? You know the player who introduced the Akkadians into the system?” he asks softly.

Turning in a circle whilst meeting everyone’s eyes, he smiles and nods.

“Yup, but getting in touch with him however is another matter entirely different –”

Your chat has been accepted by player Bazz

Clive’s eyes widen slightly as he reads the pop-up. Pushing to go ahead with the chat, a low voice pierces through into his head.

He looks around him and says quietly to the onlookers,

“He picked up!”

Everyone surrounding him became even more quizzical and continued to watch him.

Bazz asks.

Taking a moment to collect himself, he replies,

Silence greets him in response, making him slightly nervous as the minutes pass on. The nervous look showing on his face however, made an impact on his surrounding pilots. They were already curious about their leader knowing about the announced player, but when their leader becomes nervous, that translates something bad to them.

Bazz’s voices finally responds.

Chat has ended

As the chat ends, his expression brightens and he announces to the pilots around him,

“Looks like Bazz and a Commander Yordam are coming to the station to take control of the situation!”

Their already quizzical looks furrow slightly into even more confusion.

“Who are you calling Boss?” the middle-aged man asks.

“That’s his name! It sounds like the title Boss but is actually spelled differently.” He replies with a smile.

The smile lifts their spirits slightly as they look upon their leader, only to rally even more under the fact that they had just realized that the namesake for the station was coming up to take charge of the warfront.

“-Red Grease Rippers! Get mounted up and prep for a patrol run!-” a voice breaks in from across the hangar.

Looking up at the speaker that was issuing the orders, Clive sighs and thinks to himself,

~Bazz you best come quick because the current commanding officer has absolutely no idea what he is doing. Not to mention the kinds of information that I managed to scrounge up from how this war started~

---------------------------------------------------------------

I apologize about the name change, I felt I needed to change it considering the amount of planning that has gone into this and the more I planned ahead the more I realized that the Title for the story didn't fit the material. I apologize if this makes you confused but I felt it necessary to make sure the material matched the Title.
