《WAKIAGARU》The Dancer

Tomii had taken her back down the hill where the remaining refugees had gathered. She must have drifted off immediately after laying down, because she awoke, not knowing how long it had been. She looked about for Hiun, but didn’t see him.
She yawned, stretching like a cat, and feeling like an old woman. Her family was gathered around her, watching over her. Yoko smiled and brushed a dried leaf from her hair.
“Sakura, dear,” her mother said. “You’re awake.”
She nodded. “How long have I been asleep?”
“We didn’t want to wake you. You need to rest.”
“Not long, Tomiichi said. “Mother’s right.”
“We should go after them,” she said and leaving the rest unsaid. It was immediately evident that the only person who might be swayed was Tomii. “They could be in danger.”
“And what are you going to do?” Kaiya asked, scratch our enemies to death? They can fight without you.”
“Indeed,” her mother said.
“I’m not talking about fighting. They could be hurt.” She turned, gestured to the five knights from the Winged Blades that Commander Arduani had left behind. “We have plenty of swords here to help them.”
“They’re fine,” Hitomo said. “They can take care of themselves.”
“But you weren’t there when that hurg attacked us,” she said. “I saw him. And his companion.”
“Which is why you aren’t going, Sakura,” her mother said. Her voice was snappy, the way her mother spoke to her ten years ago when she was fourteen.
Kaiya made a sound of exasperation. “You’re lucky to be alive.”
Sakura looked about, saw Yumi there too, though thank the kami she said nothing, but she was afraid. Still, she couldn’t help but feel frustrated. “What, do I have two mothers, now?”

She sighed. She didn’t have the energy to fight her family and friends on this. She gave Yoko a look. Her younger sister smiled. “They will be okay.”
She had been so quiet these past two days. But her sister was fine—hadn’t been hurt. It wasn’t Yoko who needed help right now. It was Lawrence and the others, most notably the princess.
I have to do something, she thought, glancing over at the five knights.
“I agree. We need to help him.”
They all glanced toward the voice. It was Ishi, standing there with one of the spears in his arms.
“He’s done nothing but help all of you.”
“Yes,” Sakura said. At least she had one ally. Perhaps the knights would be willing to help. But to endanger the group—no that was stupid and selfish.
“We are not going to get involved,” her mother commanded. “How I raised such a belligerent daughter as relentless as you, I don’t know.” She looked to father for help, but he said nothing.

Dream Chaser
When I was born, I was discarded as worthless for I had no sense of Energy currents. When I became the sword of the realm, I was disowned. Now that I was one vote away from passing an edict of equality between Energy users and not, I had my life’s work burned in my hands. “Who are you to change this world, silly boy?” the true ruler of the empire, the head councilman, asked me. There could only be one answer. Your son. Elecar Winteridge, 7 B.S. (Before the Scourge) ________________________________ Ragnarök, judgement day or the day of reckoning. Every religion and cult has foretellings of the final day. For most people it is just an old tale, something to frighten misbehaving children or a tool for scaring the masses. But for Shea and her world this became a despairing reality. Forests turned into deserts and seas became salt lakes. Continents were smashed together, becoming one or disappearing without a trace. The whole world was covered in the ashes of fires. When Shea awoke in her shelter, not only was she injured but everyone and everything she knew was gone. All she had left were her memories and the innate talent to use the shaping ability to aid in her survival. _________________________________ Author of Flight of Icarus Member of Scribble
8 116Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.
8 151The Flesh and Blood Dungeon
This is not the usual dungeon core story. I did not originally plan to make it humorous, but, well, you'll see. This fiction will not turn into a story about a bunch of adventurers who enter a giant boars anus looking for treasure. No promises tho.
8 142In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
