《Mecha In Cultivation World》43- Half Fae

The Big Rhino saw Ambrose moving from one tree to another and roared. Saliva dripped down its mouth and his heavy steps moved him ahead of the whole group.
Ambrose saw that the Rhino was angry and gulped his saliva. "I have to take every step carefully form here. Or this guy would even crush my bones." He wanted to leave this place, however, looking at all the other Rhino's that were comparatively easy to kill he was willing to take a chance. He just has to somehow take care of the big one and everything would be fine.
"This must be Martial Master level six." Although his monkey arms could easily outrun a Martial Master level nine, it's lacking in power. It could only contend with Martial Master level five.
"Hey, you! What is your name?" Ambrose heard a voice. He turned around and looked at the source. It was a team that was participating in the admission of the Academy.
"Who are you?" Ambrose didn't give his name. He first wanted to know what kind of people they were. From what he looked at, all of them looked like they belonged to rich families.
Ambrose has learned that Golden Falcon academy gave rich people easy missions compared to the poor, it was because the rich have more chance to develop into talents even if they are less talented then poor ones. They consider the future perspective of the students. And if a good talent was in the poor people group they also take them in.
However, he was not sure why he was paired with rich guys like Constant and Audrey, even Theo seemed pretty rich, he even gave away a beast bag like it was nothing.
'Is it because of the token Master Zoe gave me in exchange for those Mutated Mushrooms?' A thought went past his mind, that was the only reason he could think of his team placement. 'I wonder how Nelson must be doing.' He thought. As Nelson was poor he must be having a hard time with his mission.
"I am Taul, and this is my team! We are here for our mission to catch the Blue Halo Rhino's head. Can you help us? You can ask for a good amount of money."
Ambrose stared at Taul and felt something was wrong with the guy and his team. He then remembered Theo's words. 'No matter what, don't help another team.' Taking in a deep breath he looked at Taul's team, they had too unfazed expression for a team that needs help.

"How much?" Ambrose asked from above the tree, because if he went down then Rhino's would follow him.
With his words, he noticed the change in expression of Taul and his team. Although it was not much, he could tell that something was wrong.
"This, take a look. You can have it for the head of Big Rhino." A shiny blue coloured stone appeared in Taul's hand. "This should be worth the head of that thing."
Ambrose looked at the stone and took in a deep breath. Just by the quality, he could guess that it was a High-Grade Spirit Stone. That is his next mecha. "Give me the stone first." His heart was beating fast, he knew that these guys were tricking him, however, if he can somehow get that Spirit Stone, his life would be much easier from here on.
"How can I believe you? At least show me your face first." Taul moved a step ahead. Ambrose looked down and could feel the branch shaking, the tree could break anytime.
"I can't."
"Then Bring us the head first. I promise I will not betray you." It was a girl in a pink coloured dress, decorated with a white flower pattern. There was a golden amulet in her blonde hair, her forehead was covered with bangs and one of her eyes was blue while another one was brown. She was wearing high heels that raised her posture to a dignified level.
It was only after looking at her Ambrose noticed something amiss, 'This guy Taul! And others, every one of them had blue coloured eyes and the bigger problem is that their total number were Six instead of five.' Ambrose gulped his saliva as the sweat trickled down from his neck to his chest.
This girl was not normal. "Uhh... I am not that strong. Sorry for wasting your time." He said and turned around looking to jump on the other tree.
"Stop! Here I will give you two instead." Her high pitched but not to overbearing voice resounded in the air between the leaves and like a robot Ambrose turned around.
'Why is my body not listening to me?' He looked at the blonde and could see her left eye glowing blue with a tinge of white. The stripes along the shoulder of her pink dress also floated in the air smoothly like a snake, making Ambrose focus on them.

'No! She is enchanting me somehow.' He still remembered Zelda the Dark Fae, she was also like her, however, he was enchanted at that time just by looking at her and this blonde was using her power to do so, which mean she was weaker than Zelda.
Ambrose's eyes than widened, 'Why the heck is my luck so bad?! First that glutton cat and now this girl.'
He looked down and saw the Horde of Rhinos attacking relentlessly at the tree, his body wanted to jump down and move towards that girl, however, he was scared internally.
"Come on, what are you waiting for? Come take this Spirit Stone." Her alluring voice moved in his head again and he felt a sudden silence enveloping his whole world. The only thing he could hear was her voice and the only thing he could see was her blue eye.
His one leg moved to jump downwards.
"Nice." A smile formed on the Blonde girl's face. "Now jump down and become my puppet." Her ethereal voice completely gripped Ambrose and he moved his second leg too, jumping down from the tree. However, suddenly an arrow whistled through the wind and with a blood splash embedded itself into the Blonde girl's leg.
Ambrose, who was falling down suddenly came to his consciousness again and quickly gripped the branch with his tail. With a swing, he moved to the next tree. Besides him stood the even more troublesome girl, Vita.
She looked at him with a mocking smile. "You are a real pervert, following every girl you see."
"I wonder who followed me here?" He didn't notice Vita following him, which mean she somehow traced him here. For him, her abilities were even more terrifying.
Vita ignored his words and looked at the Rhinos below. "You are lucky that she was only a Half Fae, or you would be already crushed by those Rhinos by the time I reached here."
"Was?" Ambrose furrowed his brows and looked at the Blonde again and to his surprise, she was gone, even her puppets were gone. 'After taking a hit on her leg...' He gulped saliva.
"Hehehe... You are a weak pervert" Vita placed her hand over her mouth and laughed with her brows raised.
Ambrose looked at her with a deadpan expression. "Monster." He blurted out, Vita really was a monster, she shot Edgar twice even with his speed and just now she even shot that powerful Half fae.
"Monster?" She looked at the sky, "We almost met one today." A sigh moved out of her chest.
A solemn expression also appeared on Ambrose's face. "Are you talking about Constant?"
Vita looked at him and narrowed her eyes. "I wonder about his sister, she may be even more dangerous than she looks."
Ambrose turned silent and looked down, when he came here, he thought that his unique powers would put him ahead of everyone, however, after seeing Vita and Constant he knew that he was not even that mysterious.
"Thanks," Ambrose said and moved his head away, he didn't want to look at her.
A creepy smile formed on Vita's face, and he could feel it even without looking at her. "What did you just say, Pervert?"
Ambrose took in a deep breath and jumped down. "Thanks for saving my life." He landed a punch on the Rhino's head and killed it instantly.
Vita jumped by his side and laughed. "I didn't hear it? Can you say it again?"
Ambrose gritted his teeth and punched another Rhino to its death. He knew something like this would happen, this girl is a troublemaker and was looking for chances to make fun of him. However, if not for her, he may be caused under these Rhinos by now.
His head moved up, his helmet opened, his eyes locked with hers, "Thanks for saving my life." He said with utmost sincerity. He was truly grateful for her today.
Vita raised her Bow in front of him and shot an arrow towards him, Ambrose panicked and dodged sideways.
"Splush..." The arrow got embedded into the Giant Rhino's eye making it enraged.

Unwitting Champion
"In stories this is always easy. There's magic and powers, and quick steps to claiming that power for one's self. This doesn't feel true for me. I'm supposed to be a Champion, whatever that means, and yet I don't feel important. I don't have all the bells and whistles, which honestly feels familiar even in a new world. But what was I expecting? I haven't had the worst life - there are people with worse problems than mine - I've known what it is to struggle, to be pulled down instead of being helped up.This is nothing new."When in great peril, the Kingdom of Althor has no choice but to send a call into the void, beseeching the Fates to bring them a man who would save them from the coming darkness. Unfortunately the path the Fates chart is often unknowable to men and the Champion who appears is not what the kingdom expected.Unwitting Champion is a story of a guy displaced, dealing first and foremost with trying to survive in a world where he is no longer a person but a tool, and - at least from the reaction of those around him - a shoddy one at that. His major goal is to survive long enough that either he can run or find a way home, because as exciting as the possibility of learning magic might be, he would rather have a boring life than a short life.
