《Mecha In Cultivation World》07- Two Mushrooms

Ambrose sat on the branch of a tall Elephant tree. Looking down he could see a large group of males searching the jungle with blue-furred Razer Hounds. Not even a single stone was unturned by them.
They were searching the whole area like their life was dependent on it. And it was true to some point. Their life will become miserable if they were not able to tame a Mana beast.
A Mana beast was a very important part of the life of the poor people like them.
Nelson was also there. His father was the leader of this group. They were all searching for an Ice or water Affinity Herb. It was for tomorrow's beast taming test.
This test was very important for them and their children. Their future and livelihood were depended on it.
"Brother Geis. I don't think we will be able to find anything here. We have to go deep in the forest to get our hands on those magical herbs." One of the middle-aged men said to Nelson's father with a worried look on his face.
They haven't had any success till now. And if they didn't risk it going deep in the forest. It would be impossible for them to find a Mana Herb with much less time.
"Only if that greedy Village Cheif has told us earlier. Then we wouldn't have to worry so much." One of the other middle-aged men with a heavy beard said. Anger flashing in his eyes.
Nelson's father looked at the people and let out a sigh. "Don't worry you all. Even the village chief got this information just now. We will definitely find some herbs." He nodded and then continued "Let's go in deep."
Nelson looked at his father with a worried expression. "Father but deeper in the wilderness there are dangerous Mana Beasts. We should not take so much Risk."
His father clenched his fist and looked at him with a determined expression. "Son, it's about your future. We have to take some risk! You should find some herbs in this area with the rest of the youths and we older people will go deeper with our Mana Beasts." He said and then ruffled his hair with his hand.
Nelson looked at his father's determined expression and stopped himself from persuading him. He knew that his father will not listen to him. He nodded and looked at the rest of the guys his age. "Be careful." He said and then separated from their group.

Ten boys got separated from the group and the rest of the old people started to move deeper into the wilderness.
Ambrose looked at them from above and clenched his jaw. He moved away with a swish and headed deep in the wilderness. "I have to at least help Nelson."
Although he was not close to other guys. Nelson was his best friend and he wanted to help him.
He moved as fast as he could as there was not much time left. The test is only tomorrow and he had to find an Ice Mushroom before that.
He couldn't afford to slack. Although he has his Mecha System with him, he can't really show it to everyone. If he wanted to go to the forest regularly he had to have a mana beast with him.
Or his mom would never let him go.
And if he wanted to get out of this shithole of a place he also needed a Mana Beast to get admitted in a good Academy.
Just after an hour he quickly caught up to Celia's group. All of them were still searching for the herbs. "Sister we have come in so deep. I think we should stop. There will be many dangerous Mana beast in there. We will not be able to survive even with our Mana Beast if we go in any deep." One of the guys said with a worried expression.
Celia looked at him with scorn on her face. "Why are you such a wuss. Even these girls are better than you. My father will meet with us just a few hundred meters ahead. Then we will be safe."
The guy gulped his saliva and awkwardly smiled. He didn't want to offend this crazy girl. He was just worried about himself. "Sister Celia, I am sorry. I didn't mean it that way. I was just worried about you and our group." He said.
Celia just snorted and ignored him. "Let's go, We should not make my father wait anymore." She said and hastened her steps. All of them also followed her silently.
Ambrose ignored them and moved ahead. He also spotted village chief however he avoided him as Village Chief was a Level Nine Body Master and if he got too close to him, he will be easily spotted.
For him staying low key was his topmost priority. He didn't want anyone to see him. Or he would not be able to escape from trouble.

He quickly moved deeper into the forest with his topmost speed. He wanted to get to the Ice mushrooms before the village chief gets to them.
He spotted may different kind of Mana Beasts and Plants on the way with his red Mecha eyes. However, he ignored all of them. His focus was only the Ice Mushrooms and some herbs.
He decided to take Ice Mushroom for himself and rest of the herbs. He will give it to Nelson secretly. Without letting Nelson know that it was him.
After sometime when he was sure that he was a good distance away from the Village Cheif. He settled on a tree. "Sniper out."
A long sniper gun formed out of his back shoulder. And rested at the side of his head. A green coloured lens suddenly popped in front of him. All kind of red images formed in front of him.
He could see all living things around him in the range of five hundred meters. He could even spot some dangerous Hunk Bears just three hundred meters away from him.
It was said that each one of these bears can fight on equal terms with a level Eight body master on their own. And if ten of them unite they can even devour a level nine body Master.
Ambrose gulped his saliva and then looked around. Although he can kill these bears with his sniper. Currently, he only wanted one thing and that was Ice Mushrooms. He looked all around him however he didn't find any negative images in thermal scope.
He stood up and decided to move even deeper. He knew that even the village Chief will not dare come this deep in the forest. If he is not careful he can end up stepping in the territory of a Martial Mana Beast.
He didn't want to fight a Martial Beast if he didn't have to. His sniper was still out as he was moving around in the territory. He does not dare to move in any deeper as it would be surefire death for him.
"I have to find the Ice Mushroom here. I can't go in any deeper." Ambrose looked around and suddenly stopped at his place. He finally saw some blue in his scope. It was around five hundred meters away from him.
He can tell that the blue colour was very deep. "That should be it." An excited expression appeared on his face however before he could move even a step ahead he also noticed two red coloured auras in his scope.
One of them was equally as radiant as Blue Coloured one however the other one was was very bright. And it was moving.
Ambrose knew that it was some kind of Mana Beast at least at Martial Master level one.
"Oh, God! What the heck?" He cursed at his luck.
He finally found an Ice Affinity Herb. However why it had to be guarded by a Martial Master level one beast. Even if it was a level nine body master he could have somehow took the herb and would have run away by the help of his Snipe Suit.
However, to run away from a Martial Master he was not sure that he could do that. He knew that his snipe suit only provided him with the agility of a Level Nine Body Master he can't compete with a Martial Master.
Although his sniper could kill a Martial Master. However, he was sure that he would be dead before he could even come point-blank to the Beast.
"I have to get that herb. Even if I have to risk it a little." Ambrose decided that he would first see the Beast. If its something dangerous than he would have to find the Ice herb somewhere else.
He has to give up on the herb as it will just be suicide if the Mana Beast is good in agility.
If the Mana Beast Protecting the Herb is a slow creature then he may have a chance to get his hands on the herb. If not then he decided to run away as fast as he could.
Moving along the leaves he finally reached the location. It was a small pond. And in the middle of the pond was a giant stone. And on the stone, there were two mushroom and two types of mosses growing out.

The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.

Draugr Cell //Layer 01-- Investiture:
With the end of the only war to ever reach mainland Australia I found myself living out of a small room in an old military compound that had been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The end of the war, unfortunately, didn't mean the end of hostilities. The terrorism trend that had started back in the early 2000's with the attack on the world trade center over in America, had spread to just about every country on the face of the planet. Over time the constant threat from various groups meant the civilian police force was quickly undermanned, under equipped, and overwhelmed. They were simply unable to respond to the daily threats in any reasonable time frame, and in many situations lacked the both the skills and equipment required to deal with the threats to put them down in a 'safe' and expedient manner. Veterans of the war that were being reintegrated into society however, were just about everywhere, all the time. We have the training and the skills required to deal with just about any threat you care to mention, all we needed was access to the equipment to do so. In a world first, under the new Veterans program, the Australian government had taken the rather controversial step of allowing specifically selected veterans to go armed in public. Sure, with Australian weapons laws being very, very strict there were a number of hurdles to get over first, but that's where the selection part comes in. Tangentially that's actually how I met Brianna, my current partner. We work as ringers in Victory City, I thought being thrown into imptomtu combat operations and risking my life on a daily basis for barely livable wages was excitement enough. Then I met her... it... I don't know. An AI unlike anything else out there has wedged itself into my life and decided it needs to... look after me. What could possibly go wrong? **** This is the first book I have released, and my first entry into a cyberpunk universe. There is minimal drug use, a fair amount of sex, a bit of gory violence, and a sultry AI that has decided the main character needs a harem.

And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels.
