《The Tentacle of Fate》Chapter 13: The Elder Lich

A goblin walked up to a door, and said “Here you go, room A3E5D67. Enjoy your stay. After all, who knows how long you’ll be here.”
He threw Lucia the keys before quickly scurrying away, “Thanks I guess?”
Lucia walked inside the room and threw her sword and the bags she was holding down on to the floor before lying down on the bed. She lay there staring at the ceiling vacantly when Dewl suddenly transformed back into a pile of tentacles.
He slowly began retracting his tentacles into Lucia’s womb leaving her body bare naked, before asking, “Whats wrong?”
“Nothing, it’s just...it’s been a long day, or perhaps I should say it's been a long week. Hell it’s been a long month! Honestly what do you want me to say.”
“Whatever you want, go ahead let it all out.”
Lucia sighed, “You know what? Never mind.”
“It’s not healthy to just bottle everything up like that. If you’re sad, cry; if you’re happy, cheer; if you’re angry, lash out. If you hold it all in, then one day...then one day you’ll just break.”
“You know for a tentacle you’re surprisingly thoughtful.”
“That’s racist.”
Lucia laughed, “Yeah…”
Lucia turned around and closed her eyes, slowly falling into a deep sleep. Dewl sighed, and slowly climbed out of Lucia’s womb.
He used his tentacles to slowly climb up to a nearby drawer and peer through the window staring into the city. Suddenly, he shot back to the ground and transformed into a suit of revealing armor, as the window in front of him was kicked open.
The catkin Yuya landed in the small room, and smiled. He looked over at Lucia who was sleeping naked on the bed and then at the empty suit of armor that was standing upright.
“Sorry about this, if Shiro were still here we would have just sent you a raven, anyway that's beside the point. Here take this.”

Yuya tossed a piece of rolled up parchment. Dewl caught it and opened it up revealing a drawn picture of a Lich, or rather more precisely an elder Lich.
“S-Class Danger Beast, Elder Lich, and former Grand Magus of the Mages Guild. Normally his extermination would be deemed an S-Class mission, but his phylactery was discovered and was damaged by mages sent to pursue him by the Mages Guild.”
“The Mage’s Guild has sent out a total of 16 Master Class mages, 4 Grand Mages, and Archmage to deal with the Elder Lich, but he was still able to get away. Currently, the Team of Mages is being pinned by the Elder Lich’s undead forces and reinforcements sent over from the Land of the Undead. The Mage’s Guild has requested the Adventurer’s Guild to assist them in the extermination of the Elder Lich.”
Yuya glanced at Lucia and said, “We leave at daybreak. That should give you and your host more than sufficient amount of time to prepare. I’ll brief you more on the details in the morning, but if you don’t arrive, we’ll consider that you decided not to participate.”
With those words, Yuya jumped straight out the window and completely out of sight. Dewl looked down and the parchment in his hands, and then back at the window before returning to his tentacle form and slipping back into Lucia’s womb.
…
Early in the morning in front of the Guild, there were a group of three adventurers waiting outside. In the center, stood Yuya the Calico catkin, to his right stood a short, female dwarf, in a pink robe sitting atop of a bag that was as tall as she was short. To her left was a tall elf, standing at an abnormal eight feet tall who looked especially lanky.
The odd trio looked at the Adventurer gates, and saw a female in a very skimpy armor running towards them. Compared to all the other adventurers around her the female knight looked especially frail, but she appeared in front of them in nearly an instant.

“S-Sorry for the wait,” she spoke between deep breaths, “I got a little lost.”
Yuya looked at the other two and nodded, “That’s fine, anyway let me introduce the two of them. This is Wiz.”
The short female dwarf waved her tiny hands, “Hey there.”
“And this is Archer.”
Archer nodded his head.
Dewl laughed, “Ahhaha, what a creative name. Ten out of ten, would name again.”
“Anyway, let’s head out, take this.”
Yuya threw a small scroll to Lucia, “It’s a teleportation scroll the mage’s guild provided us. It should bring us all to the east of the Capital City, we need to intercept the Elder Lich before he can make it to the Library under the Lake.”
“Library under the lake?”
“Hmmm? You never heard of it? You know how the eastern part of the capital city is mostly filled with water? That water originally comes from a great Lake to the east, and beneath that lake lies a massive underground library from the Age of the Gods supposedly.”
“If the Elder Lich were able to enter the library, not only would it be impossible to find him, but it would allow him to grow exponentially using the knowledge he’d be able to acquire from the library.”
“Ah…”
Dewl laughed, “Or even worse, they could wake up the monster living down there in that library.”
“There’s a monster in the library?”
“Yeah, all sorts of monsters in fact. After all, that library is one of the few remains from the Age of the Gods, but there’s one especially frightening monster living in that ancient library. The Sin of Envy.”
“Eh, but wait, aren’t the Seven Deadly Sins the Emperor’s personally picked retainers?”
“Of course, but the Seven Deadly Sins have also historically been some of the Empire’s biggest troublemakers. And Envy is by no means an exception. Anyway you should hurry up and rip that scroll, look they went and gone ahead of you.”
“Huh?”, Lucia looked around and noticed that Archer, Wiz, and Yuya had already left.
She panicked and immediately ripped the scroll in too. Soon enough she was surrounded in a bright light before being transported thousands of miles.
When Lucia opened her eyes she was surprised to be on the floor surrounded by a bunch of skeletons. And just to her right there was the Elder Lich sitting atop a throne of bones, he looked down at her and said, “Now what do we have here?”
“N-No one really, I’ll just get up and be on my way…”
“Servants, get her!”
The skeletons surrounding her all raised their swords, and began hacking down at her. Lucia immediately drew her sword, and with one heavy swing sent dozens of skeletons flying.
“Can’t we play nice for a little bit? Please?”
“Oh, well if you insist.”
“Really?”
The Elder Lich raised his hand, and a massive block of ice appeared above Lucia, and the Elder Lich smiled, “No~”
Suddenly, a Human sized figure crashed into the massive block of ice shattering it into bits and pieces and Archer the lanky elf landed before her.
Lucia looked up and exclaimed, “Archer!”
Then the sea of skeletons behind her split in two as figure charged right through crushing tens of skeletons in the process.
“Yuya!”
And then suddenly, several boulders crashed into the group of skeletons, completely pulverizing them into dust, and as Lucia turned around her eyes widened as she stared at the twelve-foot tall female dwarf with bulging muscles.
“W-Wiz?”
