There are many queries a being has when confronting an Ageless that is willing to speak of what they had to endure in order to become what they are to this day. Though I cannot speak for the others, I can, in fact, speak of what I went through. However, it will only be brief, as there are some that must never be repeated.
For example, what I had to go through was what I had done to the multitude of victims, but through their eyes. In other words, I watched, listened, and felt everything I and mine had done to those of whom were punished, exterminated, or experimented on. Everything and anything, all of it, I had to endure.
Imagine, if you would, an evil being performing their acts since the beginning of existence, and having been told that they must endure all of their acts if they were to obtain what they desired most. Would they continue to be evil? No. No they would not, but I did, and had to endure.
My own sanity left my person half way through it all, when I killed one who was once considered family to my person. In that I simply laughed at everything, as tears streamed down my mortal eyes. Yes. I felt it all, and could not rely upon that which was within all Undead. Instead, it was forcibly removed from my person so that I may continue to observe, feel, and bear witness to the atrocities throughout my own existence.
From the tortures of the innocent and guilty, to the rampant slaughterings I had ordered my servants to perform. Of which included those that were within the Black Parade, ones that I had no idea that they had performed. Such as the rapings of females by the monsters within my Guild, to the live feedings upon the flesh of prisoners. All of it, which included the death and abuse of children.
When this was revealed to my person, I grew angered. More so when it was revealed that those within my own creation had performed such actions which was against "The Laws of Terra". This led to the regaining of my sanity, and filled my entire being with a white hot and righteous anger. To the point where I reached out towards these individuals who had gone unpunished, and killed them with my own ethereal clawed hands.

This, in turn, caused my person to watch through their own eyes as spectral claws erupted from the space in front of their persons. These were surrounded by others who watched with widened eyes as several amongst their number died in excruciating pain. By which the claws entered both their chest and mind, sending my own mind reeling as I felt what they felt, and heard what they heard.
For although their names were called out, all around their persons heard my voice as I roared, "I will not suffer the foolish who choose to be child abusers!" This, of course, caused nearly all to become fearful as those who were killed dropped to the ground with large holes in their chests and foreheads.
Much later, I will have been told that after such an occurrence, the sub-leaders of my Guild invaded itself and purged those who went against the Laws I had placed upon them all. Of which then led to a small war with an undesirable kingdom that was wiped off the face of Azzarath, but this does not concern us.
When all had been said and done with, my ethereal self floated within a sea of darkness. One which was absolute, but soon brightened with an unholy light as my body was pulled towards a large pair of double doors which was of old iron full of rust and grime. It was as though it were long ago forgotten by the whole of time immemorial.
This then slowly swung open, but no sound ever came from it, and there within the darkness was a very large, and very old Dragon. This I knew to be one of such race, but could not view its regal form due to the darkness. Instead, only a single eye full of an even more absolute darkness blazed into being, which then forced my person to kneel. However, I fought back against such a thing, as I did not recognise it as a master, a God, nor any other being worthy of making my person kneel.
Yes. I fought back, but was ultimately subdued and was forced to kneel. Even then, I continued to fight back, struggling to stand. Which, in turn, caused the creature to chuckle enough to allow my person this small boon of standing tall.
"YOU AMUSE ME," rumbled an old and tired voice, "WHY MUST YOU STRUGGLE AGAINST THE BONDS OF FATE? ALL MUST KNEEL BEFORE ME."

"I do not recognise your person as one who deserves my respect, nor will I kneel willingly," came my reply, which the other still found amusing.
"I COULD BREAK YOU WITH A THOUGHT, AND STILL YOU CONTINUE TO FIGHT. WHY?"
"Why not?"
It waited for a time, believing I would speak more, but when I did not, the voice simply chuckled once more, "VERY WELL. KEEP YOUR PRIDE, BUT TELL ME THIS, WHY ARE YOU HERE?"
"I desire that which I found within the pages of the Archive of Azzarath. I desire to be called an Ageless, and become a God amongst Gods."
"DO YOU HAVE A SUSCEPTIBLE FORM OF SACRIFICE FOR SUCH A DESIRE?"
"I will give you my name, it's legacy, and everything associated with it. For I do not have need of such things, nor the memories of my life before this one. Therefore, you may take all of that as well."
"A LIFE BEFORE THIS ONE? LET. ME. SEE. THIS."
Something moved from within the darkness, and rushed my position. However, I was ready for it, as a large orb of silver was formed before my person which contained my life upon the world called Earth. One which this being did not have memories of, as those from such a place had never ascended as much as I had.
Once the orb was fully formed, however, it was pushed away from my being and towards the Dragon. One who then used the tip of an impossibly large claw to drag it away and towards an equally impossibly large maw. Whereupon it was tossed into it, and allowed my eyes the briefest of glimpses as the space around us flashed in the colours of my energies.
For the first time in an eternity, I felt a sliver of terror run a course up and down my spine. For the creature was a Dragon, but more demonic in form, and its size... It's size was of galaxies, and looked to be one of the Elder Gods who created everything before we knew how to walk and breathe on our own.
This being... This being, I would not wish to cross, and neither would you.
"THIS WORLD CALLED EARTH," it rumbled slowly, as it turned its gaze back upon my person, "WHERE IS IT?"
"If I knew that answer, I would have sent out my underlings in order to take it for my person already." This was the truth, as I held a longing desire to take over a world made up of just Humans, and add it to my collection.
"A PITY, BUT I FIND YOUR SACRIFICE DELECTABLE. THEREFORE, I SHALL GRANT YOU YOUR WISH."
More was exchanged between us, but you will never hear it from one such as I.

"Why not?" whined a Bright Elf amongst the crowd of enraptured beings in front of the Ageless. Many of whom also wished to know what was spoken of between the Dragon and their God.
"Why not?" repeated the God King as his son, Nox, lightly suckled upon his own thumb as he snuggled into the older Kitsune's abdomen. Of whom then stared with widened eyes between his father and the audience, "Everything that occurs between the Ageless-to-be and the All Being is not for the faint of heart. Not to mention it is a great secret kept between the two. Therefore, no one will know about such a thing."
"But-"
"If you truly wish to know what had occurred, then find a way to ask the All Being yourself. However," the Ageless bared his teeth with malice and ill will, "you must be ready to face the Gatekeeper. One who will take your sanity as the entry fee, and force feed your mind everything you had performed throughout your life. If you remember your past life, then that will also be added to the list for you to watch.
"So, do you still wish to know of what was spoken of?" The endarkened furred Kitsune sat upon his gilded thrown with a great grin upon his features whilst all others squirmed within their seats. This was only broken by the sounds of suckling by Nox, who was still staring at everyone and everything with widened, curious eyes.

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.
