"What in the nine hells was that, Karastak?" Beelzebub slammed his gauntleted fists upon the table within the space atop the Tower of Babel, and glared towards my person with great frustration.
"I do not know, Beelzebub, as I do not have a memory of that weapon, nor has any of my servants encountered such a thing." This caused his person to become more frustrated, and vented by exuding a gout of Dark Fire from his throat, high into the air. "In any case, we must find some way to combat this new threat before proceeding further."
"Can you not experiment with the weapon?" asked Yin, of whom had donned her dress whilst her sister slowly wrapped the string around her body, "You still have those 'Dolls' right?"
"Yes," my head bobbed once as I contemplated this, and for those of whom do not know, I have constructs of white metals called "Dolls". These are simply creations of which were used to pass the time, or for that which required stealth and subversion. For these were able to mingle amongst the populace due to their malleable surfaces, and can be as silent as the wind itself when it is desired of their person.
At that time, they were simply tools for I and mine to use, whereas today they are the race of Ana'shuul. Or, as you may know them by the name of "Ghost Walkers".
As this was being contemplated, my right, clawed hand raked the air to my side. Of which caused a small cadre of Dolls in the shape of Ogres and Goblins to appear before us. These then simply awaited my commands whilst the Kitsune Twins hurried over to examine their persons.
"Why don't they have anything between their legs?" grumbled Yang, who tugged on the strings nearest her left inner thigh, whilst her sister pouted up towards my person.
"They are Dolls, as you well know, and only dance to the tune of my voice," came my reply as a notification appeared within my own mind about Terra having another scenario waiting for others. This time, however, I would be sending the Dolls through, but would be needing the recording devices the Adamantine Dwarf had used for the Homunculi. Of which I did turn to Hephaestus to find that he was staring at my creations with great intent.

"Hephaestus," my voice boomed in front of his person, causing him to jump as his eyes drifted towards my own, "we shall be requiring any and all of your recording devices for this venture. Preferably those that are not as important."
"Why?" His eyes narrowed as I further explained.
"They will more than likely be destroyed in what I have planned for my Dolls," my voice rumbled softly, as my lips peeled back to reveal a feral grin.
*
The Adamantine Dwarf was called once more to our space, and was told to set up a recording program which will then be attached the my Dolls. Of whom would then pour into our world of Terra and destroy as much as possible in order to draw out the "Ban Hammer". After such a thing appears, a few of the Dolls are to rush the weapons in an effort to fight such a creation. Whereas the rest were to simply await their fate as it strikes their bodies. Once these Dolls had been struck, we would then know of where they are being sent, and act accordingly.
However, I was of a mind to capture the Hammer, and make it my own. To this, I voiced to my allies and was met with a mixture of responses.
"No," the God of Gluttony shook his helmeted head quickly, "It needs to be destroyed so that we may all gain our Divine Rights more swiftly." This was echoed by the Kitsune twins, but it was not as though they had fallen for his person. Instead, it was from the fact that they were the true daughters of a Kitsune Goddess that had lost her own Divinity through betrayal so long ago, and desired to regain it for their Mother.
On the other hand, Kronos was indifferent to the entire situation, and only wished to regain his lost Rights after his so called "children" stripped him of his so long ago. Whereas Hephaestus was of a like mind, but only wished to study it and create his own. To all of this, I simply heaved a sigh and had the preparations resume as the portal into Terra was opened to accommodate my servants.
Upon completion, we each crowded around the screen in order to witness what unfolded before our eyes. To say it was entertaining was an understatement, as it appeared to our eyes that the False God had grown somewhat wise to our tricks, and transported my Dolls into a war camp of some sort. This, in turn, caused the whole of the army to lash out against my creations to the point that my servants had to retreat into the nearby woods to lick their wounds for a time before venturing out once more.

Though this minour setback was an annoyance, I would not allow it to become a hindrance. Instead, portals erupted around the Dolls as more of their kind stepped through in order to give some assistance to their persons. Of which they then used to launch an attack upon the army with greater ferocity. This of course, led to the formation of the "Ban Hammer" which did appear within the sky above, and was sent hurtling towards an Ogre Doll.
What came next was rather odd to our eyes, as once the Hammer struck the other, it was not sent flying. Instead, it simply winked out of existence, and yes, it was one of those with a recording device attached to its person.
When I say "winked out of existence", I mean exactly that. For this weapon seemed to have the ability to erase all existence, of which became evident as it continued to swat at my servants one by one until they were all removed. No. There wasn't any footage after they were struck, only darkness.
"This is troublesome," my voice rumbled when everything grew dark upon the screens, "It needs to be removed. Permanently," to which even Hephaestus agreed, as someone with the strength to remove the existences of others was too much of a power for even one such as I. This speaks volumes, for those who do not know much about my history, as my past self was considered to be slightly less than on par with the God King Azazel.
"I agree," grumbled Kronos, "but using such a thing more than once must put a heavy strain on the fabrics which makes up the Universe, no?" Each of us turned to look upon the Titan with great confusion as he spoke this. For we each did not realise this at the time.
"To put it mildly," he continued slowly, "If this held the power to remove beings from the Universe permanently, then it will cause untold harm for the future. One where, if someone who will become important later on in life is removed from the equation too soon, then the future will become bleak and desolate."
"Kind of like the Butterfly effect," chimed in Yin, of whom received confused looks that were echoed even by her own sister. "What? You've never heard of the saying, 'If a butterfly flaps its wings on one end of the world, it causes a hurricane on the other'?" Everyone shook their heads at this, including my own, whereas Yang simply thought for a while and shrugged. Of which she was rewarded with a slap upside her head.
"Hey," she grumbled, rubbing her head whilst the other glared.
"Mother's teachings were given to us long ago. How can you forget them so easily?"
"Because they were long ago?" The white furred Kitsune received a second slap upside the head for this, which caused her to growl and crouched into a pounce. Of whom were halted by my energy, as strands of silver ropes hung them upside down with Yin's dress falling over her eyes and revealed that which was between her legs.
"You will cease in your desire to fight one another, and speak more of this 'Butterfly Effect', understand?" My own voice rumbled deep and low as I dropped them onto the ground half a metre above. To which they grumbled about the treatment, but quickly climbed to their feet once they noticed my energy snaking out once more.
"To put it in a way for you understand," spoke the dark furred Kitsune quickly, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Which is just what Titan Kronos spoke of, but the Butterfly Effect usually points towards something more devastating happening later down the line."
"Which means?"
"Which means that even the smallest and most insignificant of causes will create detrimental effects upon the Universe which can equate to its overall death. Then again, you'd have to be really stupid if you want that to happen."

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.
