AN: Tomorrow's chapter is an NSFW chapter. Just a heads up, seeing how it's been a while since the last one was out.
As always, thank you all for reading thus far. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to voice them.

The journey towards the city of Babel took us nearly a quarter of a turn to reach. Yes. We could have been there sooner, but I simply chose to take in the scenery. One of which was beautiful to my own eyes, whereas Brutus just sighed whilst watching my person dance about the trees off to our left, and splashing through the river on our right.
"My Lord God," he called out, clearly embarrassed by my antics, "why must you be so childish?"
To this, I simply flowed out of the river where he did pause to watch, with a horrified realisation as I shook my furred body. This caused his armour to become wet, as I laughed at his expense. "You need to lighten up, Brutus. You are far too uptight for your own good, so try to be more relaxed." I waved an arm at his person, which wiped away the water from his armoured self. This caused it to become dry, which he appeared to be grateful for, but was still upset.
"Now, now," my right clawed hand pat his left shoulder a few times, "we are almost there. So it'd be best to not show off your grumpy side. Yes?"
"Yes," was his reply, as he shoved my person back into the river. To which he chuckled whilst I laughed and pulled his armoured self in. For a time, we stayed like this. With him shoving my person under the water, as well as his own being dragged.
It was, for lack of a better word, fun.
However, all things had to end, which led us to the City's gates of iron and stone. Whereupon we were stopped along with everyone else who desired entry inside. Standing outside one of the portcullis was a Dwarf in mithril armour, a few male Leo'lan, and a pair of Vampires. The last two were, of course, underneath some shade to protect their hypersensitivity to the world's day-star, as well as wore a thick, hooded cloth robe, a white mask to hide their face, and a pair of gloves.
In the past, these were employed for their truth seeking abilities, until we started using the Mindflayers for that exact purpose. However, they often allowed those of ill repute into the city, forgoing their oaths and pledges to make the city safe. Well, those that repeat this offence tend to become crucified and on display upon each parapet nearest the gates. Which was to deter offenders and dissuade others from trying to disrupt the peace the city claimed to have.

Yes. There were a few Vampires and smugglers atop the parapets, and most of them were either dead or passed out due to their overly sensitive bodies, but we paid little heed to them.
Instead, we simply waited in the short queue whilst the Lich King frowned, fidgeted, and muttered something along the lines of this being too degrading for ones of our stature. "Perhaps, but would it be better to announce to the world right off the bat that we've returned?" To this, he paused for a moment and became confused, "Don't worry too much about it, then. They'll soon figure it out once our turn comes up."
Once I turned my attention towards the front, which was about five people ahead, my lips turned to a frown. Of which was caught by the other, who did not understand what was happening. You see, the guards at the front had imposed a tax, and one that I did not sanctify.
For those of whom do not know, every world I conquered, I abolished a couple of laws almost immediately. Slavery and taxes. Slavery should be obvious, but is allowed for a few reasons. Such as an incurred debt, or something along those lines.
Taxes, on the other hand, are practically non-existent upon all of my worlds. The only ones that are placed upon the populace, and is heavily enforced, are if there was a sanctioned war that left many a family and child bereft of clothing, daily necessities, and shelter. Thus, all within the areas of up to fifty kilometres must come together with their taxes to help. No. Not in coin, but in supplies and other necessities in order to create a new place for the people to live, laugh, and grow once more.
This was a concept that needed much in the way of revenue. Which was granted to others by way of mines, fertile grounds which will last for centuries, and a blessing upon the animals that others need in order to obtain their meats and skins. This would allow such creatures the ability to grow quickly and breed faster. Though, it is still being tinkered with today, the spell is in effect and many have flourished from such a thing.
Now, having a tax is still allowed, but only if there is a reason. What we saw, however, was not called for, as the guards would harass those that had a look of humble beginnings for more, whilst those with more simply gave a few coins to the guards. Of whom appeared to be far too arrogant and greedy for their own good.
"Hmpf," huffed the Dwarf, who peered at my and Brutus's person with intent, "An' wha' ah you gon' do in ar city?" he asked, clearly bored of what he had seen, "Gon' ta'e on uh Tow'r, or sumfin?" At our nod, he retrieved a ledger from behind his person which clearly had the look of it being stuffed under a belt far too many times. Whereupon he did search for something within the letterings that would allow him to proceed quickly.

"Tha'd be fi'e 'old fer uh bo'h uh ya." His right hand shot out after he found whatever it was his eyes had been searching for, and stuffed the ledger behind him once more.
However, I was quite unamused by the proceedings, and made a choking motion towards the other whilst intone the spell, ">." This caused my target to reach for the invisible hand which was slowly squeezing his windpipe shut. Whereas the other guards surged forth in order to stop my person, but fell back as a pair of Wendigos howled at their persons. Each desiring to devour the essences of the living, who watched as their prey scattered whilst their master held onto their reigns to keep them from attacking.
">," I intoned once more, and watched as ghostly chains erupted from the stone pavement to wrap around the Dwarf and bind his body. This allowed him to breathe once more, as I released the "Choke" spell from his person.
To which he did gasp and gulped down several dozens of breaths before glaring at my person. "Release me," the Dwarf ordered, "I am a guard of His Royal Highness, Prince Akmen Stormhowler."
"Ever heard of that one, Brutus?" I called out to my Lich King, who turned his armoured head to the side and shrugged in response.
"No, My Lord God, I have not. Then again, we haven't stepped foot upon the land in quite some time. So it is possible some reigning monarchy has tried to move in to steal the city," was his reply, as a thunderous noise of heavy armour marching on stone echoed throughout the area was heading our way. Of which caused my captive to grin as a dozen mithril armoured Dwarves made their way slowly towards our position.
"Then I guess it is high time we remind them of who is the rightful ruler of the Tower of Babel, and the world called Forge." In so saying, my form stretched itself as the sounds of flesh tearing caused those who were closest to our person to halt approximately a dozen metres away from our position. To which they did gasp in horror, as my skeletal self, and the haunting visage of my skull became apparent to their persons.
Even so, for there were several dozens of individuals who had stuck their heads out of windows and from behind doors in order to watch who it was that incurred the ire of the Dwarves enough to call over a dozen of the Mithril Guard to their position. However, upon noticing my own visage, and Brutus's Undead minions, many screamed and screeched whilst slamming said doors and windows in the hopes that I and him would leave them be.
"Have you already forgotten my person, my presence?" My voice boomed throughout the city, causing all activities to halt in their productions, as all turned to listen, "Have you forgotten who it was that reigned over each and every one of you? Who gave you your freedoms to live without care, without hunger? Who was it that gave you the ability to grow wealthy from a single Dungeon? It wasn't a Monarch, nor any others.
"For it was I who had done these things. It was I who gave this world a better future, and not under the thumbs of those too full of avarice to care about the rest of the world."
"Who are you?" asked the chained Dwarf, whose eyes stared with widened eyes full of confusion and horror.
"I. Am. Your. God," came my reply, as the skies above darkened from my energies. Lightning, the colours of crimson, violets, and sapphire ran across the endarkened skies and clouds, which created several thundering crashes to echo throughout the land, "And I have returned to set things right.
"No more taxes. No more slavery. No. More. Kings. All of these things, and more, have I decreed upon the land, and yet one who claims to be a 'Prince' has appeared when there should be none. Which means someone has broken my laws, and they are very strict in this regard. For those who dare to break such things, only one option is available to them. One which will deny them their right to enter the reincarnation system once more."
"No," muttered those of whom were within the city, and remembered or were taught the laws of the God who had long ago taken over their world.
"Yes," was my booming reply which then shook the city to its foundations, "They are to return to the Abyss, never again to enter the cycle of reincarnation outside of its reaches."

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!
