Yes. I did drain his mind of everything, and witnessed something new. For you see, the last couple of worlds, Forge and Lavara, we've all been together and had always teleported into the outskirts of a nearby city or settlement. Yes. Our coming is usually heralded by a pillar of light, and yet, the humans appeared during some sort of summoning ceremony. Quite strange, to be honest, as the worlds within the Abyss have been cut off from such mechanics.
Indeed, and the human God with his company of females were quite astonished, judging by their reactions within the king's mind. However, this all occurred nearly fifty cycles ago, of which caused many to gasp in wonderment as the God and his followers had yet to age. This led to something of a pseudo religion to crop up, but one mainly of females who desire a forever youthful form. To which some were granted, but those who were gifted such a thing were always the Kin, never a beastwoman.
Which isn't as strange as one might believe, as this "harem" God only desired human females over the likes of any other race. Yes. Such racism was prevalent in those days, less so now, as the past tended to enslave one particular race over all others. Then again, there are some races which would strive to enslave all others simply for being different.
In any case, the memories of the past within the lion king were only snippets here and there, but what I was able to take from it all was a single desire. To kill the dragons. For within that one's past held a very different story of what we had seen thus far. One where the dragonfolk were in charge, and the humans came in like a hurricane, destroying the balance and placing the lions on top. Then again, the humans were always quick to jump into any given situation, and not give it another thought until after they returned from completing the "quest".
Of which caused an unceasing headache forming between my person and the golem, Aruuma. Yes. We cooperated in the beginning, but after such stunts as these? It was little wonder why are supposed "truce" fell apart so easily.
As to what had occurred when they first appeared? Why, the subjugation of the first dragon and its chosen people, of course. This then led to several rebel groups appearing once the king, whose name was Nero, appeared upon the throne with the God to his right. Of which came another battle with Luna earning the title of "Scurge", and Persephone's disappearance and reappearance with something which was perceived as the truth.
This was nothing more than evidences pertaining towards the new king's desire to conquer the whole of Azara, and using them to achieve such a thing. Of course, a few of the females stood with her, whilst the rest, plus their God, sided with the king. Which ended with a bloody battle of the king's side winning and enslaving those females who desired the truth to be exposed.

Do you remember the story Persephone told my person? How ear wolf ears were grafted to her scalp as she was treated as a pet? Well, such a thing was only half correct. She was treated as a pet, yes, but not from some female picked up along the way. Instead, she, and the others, were placed into such a position for their part in the perceived rebellion against the newly established monarchy. This then led to these few being used as spies and trackers for Nero and whatever he deemed necessary, which led them to seeking out the other dragons and the demise of the hero God.
Yes. Luna was not lying when she spoke of him falling before the might of a Primordial Dragon. Of which was of all elements, and was considered as a God by those that worshiped it. Upon their return, however, those left simply branched off to seek out their own paths, whilst Luna simply stayed near Nero as his private assassin and concubine.
After such events, the prospects of branching out towards newer lands became more apparent with the demise of the second dragon, and many desired the third to perish. For which they sent Persephone to track the beast, along with a local whose name was never told. In truth, those around the female simply called her "Boss", and performed any task set by the contract at hand. However, after witnessing the abuse the female human had to endure, a mutiny arose which tarnished the tracker's company's reputation, but saved the human.
All of this occurred whilst the new city upon the third continent had been completed for approximately five or so cycles. Which meant that the human called Persephone had been missing for only around a quarter of a cycle. That is, until we found her within the slave pits fighting off against jailors. However, she was now being used as a toy by a few of those within Brutus's contingent of monstrous creatures. For they had destroyed the most after my person, and were rewarded for such a thing.
No. I did not give them her, but to my Lich who then gave her over to those he deemed were exceptional. Yes. They would have killed her with their methods and appendages, but you must understand, she was not completely human. After being chosen as a follower of a God, especially one who was of the "harem" variety, those sorts tended to be immortal even after the demise of their chosen God. What is more, they can never be impregnated by, or impregnate, others. Yes. Such a thing was possible, but only by those who deemed it necessary.
As to why I spoke of "impregnating others"? Well, there is such a thing as a "reverse harem" Which consists of one female, and many males. These ones are rare even to this day, as the males are considered beautiful, but could only impregnate the Goddess they followed. Thus, they are forever cursed with sterility when it came to bedding another female.
And no, I do not have an issue with them. For it is as I had said, they are rare, and it is always a joy to watch the males struggle with their own sterility. Now, if the female was truly a sadist, then those males who decided to try and bed another female would find their shafts as limp as though they were never aroused. Yes. I've met one who was like this, and have even befriended her for doing just that.

In any case, I was enraged when I came out of the memories of the late king, and noticed my Undying gripping their sheathed weapons. To which I waved them away, "It seems the human God called 'Shojo' truly is dead."
"My Lord God?" Called out Brutus, who strode forward to stand to the right of my person, "Does this mean-?"
"Yes, Brutus. It means I cannot ascend, but no matter," my body stood tall, and turned towards the north, "Come. We mustn't tarry, for there are two more continents to conquer."

"I will not bore you with many details," spoke the Ageless, as they broke away from a rest atop a large hill overlooking the main capitol of Terra called Necropolis, "You desire to know how I became so big, correct?" His query was directed towards an Ogre who nodded quickly as it munched upon the left leg of one of the human females, "It is quite simple, really. I allowed my person to sink within the hell storm that was my 'Madness'. Of which only occurred once we came to the mainland, and I noticed the abuse many of the dragonfolk's children had to endure.
"Whips; chains; forced to go without food and water; exposed to the elements with only a thin and torn tunic. Oh yes. I had never seen a place more in need of destruction than those upon the first world called Lavara. In this instance alone, my Undying were in complete agreement. Thus, we raged and wallowed in our world of madness.
"Come. We are almost home."
The trek towards Necropolis was rather short, as all seemingly rushed for the gates as one great surge of bodies could with a stone cart in tow. Yes, such a place as this would be considered a heaven, or a haven, to those who were not of the "Human" races. As the land around the main city of alabaster was occupied by similar cities with stone walls and a large tower near the entrances. Each of these cities were simply illusions, which gave way to a great portal in its centre. Of which would teleport a being to one of the five worlds in orbit around their own, or to another within the solar system it shared with the primary planet.
Yes. Other worlds contained such portals, but only connected to Terra. Of which then allowed those desiring to enter another world with minimal difficulties. However, as they passed by the first of these illusionary cities, the Ageless found it rather odd and called the army to stop. For he spied something which should not be, as there were checkpoints set up near the great gates which led into the city. This checkpoint was being managed by a pig-orc, and was busy snacking upon a haunch of meat as its hired help, which were in the form of collared and thin wolf beastmen, searched a large wagon whilst a family of three red Fox-kin shivered off to the side. For the beastmen were tossing many items out of the wagon, searching for something whilst this family cowered against one another.
"What is this?" The Ageless called out, approaching the pig-orc who was not at all amused to be interrupted from its meal, "By whose authority gives you the right to halt these Kin in their journey forward?"
The Kin, who noted the figure was a dark furred Kitsune, rushed forward in order to plead for help. In their own words, they spoke of how they desired to live elsewhere, and came to Terra for a new life, as their own had become overcrowded during the last decade. However, upon reaching his world, they were stopped by the pig-orc and told to hand over a fifth of their coin and wares for a tax of some sort.
"Tax?" The being before them scrunched his facial features in confusion, "There are no taxes to be paid upon our world of Terra."
"Shows what you know," burped the pig-orc, whose pink skin and round, shirtless body jiggled as it strode forward. Grease and meat juices had been smeared across its face, whilst some had dripped upon the exposed chest and belly. "The lady queen demanded-"
"Who?" The creature before him seethed with controlled rage, as he questioned the pink skinned orc with a simple question.
"Queen Denna of-"
"Never heard of her," an endarkened, clawed hand waved away such a name, as he turned his attention towards the Kins who stared with wide eyes and slacked jaws.
"Hey! I'm talking to you," it placed a greasy palm upon his right shoulder, and wished it hadn't. As the shadows condensed upon its appendage, absorbing and devouring it in its entirety. "Eh?" It muttered, blinking as it pulled the offending appendage away and found only a stump. This then led it to release a blood curdling scream, which caused a large host of other pig-orcs to appear and point their crude spears towards his person.
"You who do not recognise my person," his body stood in front of the Kins as the Ageless raised his right clawed hand above his left shoulder, then quickly swiped it down towards his right hip, "Begone from my sight." Dark portals of shadows and violets erupted behind their bodies, as thin, clawed hands swiftly reached out to take hold of a part of the pig-orcs. Of whom screamed as these claws merely tore away a part of their bodies, whilst more claws appeared in order to repeat the process until all that was left were small pools of blood, a terrified family of Fox-kins, and a very angry God.

A Tale From Azaad
Desperate and wandering, a young lord stumbles upon unknown knowledge that can help to overturn his peoples’ destiny. But can he rise to bring the prosperity his people need, or fall before it can ever take shape? AN: I hate writing synopses, so I'd recommend reading a few chapters before making a decision. Also, it's tagged as an isekai but those tropes don't appear. Warnings: I mention them, but there are a few chapters that are really gruesome. Furthermore, the innovations and advancements don't come into play until a lot later, though the framework for it all is built up early. Inspirations: South Asian history, Tales of a Reincarnated Lord and some of the histroical and kingdom-building stories on RR are inspirations for this work. If you enjoy politics, clever strategies, nation-building and technological advancement, then this story might interest you. Schedule: New chapter every Saturday at 3PM PST.
