"So? What happened this time?" Asked a bored and tired female black haired Rabbit-kin who wore a black suit with a red tie, as she sat down upon a very old throne in the centre of the ruined hall. Gone from it was the luster and shine, and in its place was rust and rot. Yes. It had been many, many cycles since it was last used to greet noble personages, but was now used to seat whomever desired it.
This Kin was yawning as the first of many explained what had happened earlier that turn, "Everything was perfect," grunted a Bear-kin male, whose left arm was heavily bandaged due to the fact that a dwarf had belched a gout of flame towards it the moment it stepped out of the portal, "but instead of a noble wandering towards the slave pits before the auction begins, we get-"
"We get the new wolf beastman whose been selling his wares outside of the north gate," finished a small rat beastwoman, whose tail had been singed by the same fire which had been belched at the former.
"And I keep telling you," growled a white wolf beastman, of whom sauntered forward with a growl, "That ain't a wolf. We wolves have larger proportions than that... thing."
"That's because he's a Kobold," laughed a melodic voice who stalked forwards as she sheathed her odd glowing sword into the scabbard behind her slender back. This female, by the by, was named Persephone, and was one of the human gods' harem women. Her form was lithe with taut muscles wrapped around her frail human bones.
Yes. She was a human, as the god she followed would not allow any other to follow him. Which is rather strange, as all other "Harem Heroes" desired Kin and beastfolk over their own kind. No matter, as she had the same dark hair and eyes as many who claim to be of Japanese origin were. However, the ears atop her head were blue, and did not function as well as one might think. Instead, they were simple a child's doll ears which had been grafted onto the top of her skull, and given a bit of animation magick so that they would swivel, flatten, and perk up high as a normal wolf's would. On the other hand, she still had her human ears, but kept them hidden under her shoulder length hair.
Her garment, at that time, was one of a white linen blouse and skin tight trousers under hard, brown leather armour. No. She was not one of those with a large chest, but of those who were considered to be "Flat as a Board". This did not stop her in joining up with the human god, though, as he took in all females for himself.

What he did with them does not concern us, nor this story.
"What is a 'Kobold'?" Asked the Rabbit-kin, whose ears perked up at the unfamiliar word.
"A kobold is a descendant of the wolf tribe, but has less qualities of their ancestors. To make up for this, they've become more adept in procreation and pack handling. Such as they all tend to allow one another to breed, as opposed to the strongest male and female of one tribe to breed with each other."
To this small explanation, the wolf beastman scoffed loudly, "So he's a weakling."
"Let her continue," growled the Kin, as a black shoe sailed across the room to strike the male's head.
"As I was saying," replied the fake Kin, "Yes. This one is a kobold, but that's only one part of his actual race." She shivered from the memories which flooded her mind as she hugged herself, "That one has the ability to destroy whole civilisations merely on a whim, and even destroyed an empire for the sake of one person."
"Does he have any weaknesses?" Asked the other, as her shoe was handed over by way of a rat beastman.
"He will go out of his way to save a child, but only if it's in his best interest," Persephone quickly added the last, as she noticed the one upon the throne was about to order someone to perform an undesirable task.
"What do you mean?" The Kin's eyes lowered into slits, as her hands gripped the arms of the old throne tightly.
"He has been known to kill children simply because of his twisted logics," she shivered as more images assaulted her mind, "In one instance, he killed a boy simply because he was about to be sacrificed to some dark god. In another, a girl's head was blown off before another group of cultists were about the carve out her heart for some other creature of the void.
"The list goes on and on, but there's always one simple fact. He's very calm around children, and does not think or speak when they are simply upon his lap."
"Hmm," hummed the other, as a forefinger tapped her lips in thought, "We shall come up with something, then."
"May I ask why you desire him removed, when it's better to just ask him or leave him be? I mean, sure he's a terror, but he can also be gentle when he so chooses."
"Oh? Do you have feelings for him, or something?" Chuckled the Kin, and many others joined in on the laughing. Whereas the other simply glared at the group in front of her.
"You still haven't answered my question. He's not one who would be interested in this war against the nobles."

"No, but after the failed attempt to relieve him of anything valuable, he will be soon enough. Which is why we must strike out now, before he sides with the nobles and their greed." Many within the ruined hall cheered at the speech, whilst the fake Kin simply shook her head slowly.
"You are making a mistake; one which will cost the lives of everyone here. He is not someone you want as an enemy," but her words were not heard, as all others simply gathered around the throne in the centre, discussing their next plan of action against this new player. Whilst the other simply lifted her hands to the ceiling, and walked out.
This action, though missed by all others in the centre, was not by a pair of golden orbs in another corner of the ruined hall. The owner of such eyes bared a feral grin of amusement, and left through another exit to inform its masters of what it had witnessed moments ago.
*****
An imaginary headache had formed behind my eyes, as I closed the lids to rub them slowly. This was so, as it had taken the whole of the turn for someone to approach my person and explain the situation at hand. As it turned out, the headache was justifiable. For you see, my dear audience, with the mainland being so far away from this continent, combined with the destruction of Freeport, caused a separate faction within the city to rise up and begin to aggressively attack every noble within their sights.
Their reason for doing so was simple. The taxes were outrageous, the food nonexistent or rotting, and the populace was angered whilst the nobles only grew fatter. Such was a common tale amongst the worlds we traversed, one that always led to my person becoming involved in their scuffles.
A sigh was released from my pseudo lungs, as my body reclined against a heavily cushioned chair within a gilded room of violets, reds, and gold. Upon the wall to my left was a tapestry of a tree with names sewn above each branch. They called it a genealogy tree, which stretches back to the founding of their empire. This tree belong to our host, of whom was a portly old bear beastman wearing a heavily stained white robe. The stains came from the various foods it consumed on regular intervals, and would disgust Flint who also enjoys foods, but not to this extent.
This beastman was eating in front of my person, and was exceedingly loud in his consumption of the roasted bird in front of him. The disgust I felt for one such as it was mirrored by the twins who had accompanied my person after realising my person was attacked by an unknown force. Even though I had to repeat my words of wellbeing, they took it upon themselves to accompany my person wherever I went. Of which led to this outcome of witnessing a pig eat everything in front of it.
"Master," whispered Sal'ruum in the language of his people, "Why must we be hear and listen to the filth in front of us eat itself to death?"
"Indeed, Master," chimed in Val'ruum, whose silvered scaled flesh took on a green complexion as his clawed hands inched towards the long handled daggers upon his back, "This grotesque piece of flesh must be dealt with immediately."
"Peace," I held up my left clawed hand to ward off anymore thoughts of killing, "You will have your chance in due time. For now, though, we must be patient and watch how all of this plays out."
The moment I spoke out this strange language, the voracious devouring of flesh had ceased, and the pig of a beastman was now glaring towards my person. Whereas I simply cross my right leg over my left, as the twins growled whilst reaching slowly for the weapons which were strapped above their backsides. "Are you going to help us?" It asked with a burp.
"Help you with what?" I spoke slowly, refusing to give into the impulse of destroying the failed flesh of a bear before us.
"I asked if you are interested in helping us with the thorns which plagues us," it waved a piece of greased meat at my person, sending many droplets towards us, but were deflected by a translucent shield about our persons. This caused the other's eyes to narrow into slits, as the barrier flickered invisible once more.
"I will not, as it is none of my concern for your well being." My teeth, sharper and far more venomous than a basilisk's, were laid bare in a mocking grin, as my starry eyes expressed boredom towards the words of the pig.
"We can make you richer than what you already have, there will be plenty of females who will throw themselves at your feet, and be glad for you to choose them as a partner. Not to mention the food-." His face became purple once he looked towards my person and found only mockery. As my voice was lifted towards laughter at the fool's offerings.
"Is that all you can offer?" I mocked with my query, "If so, then you have nothing of import, as I have everything I desire. Come, Val'ruum, Sal'ruum," the twins stood at my sides as I stood tall in front of the slob before us, "We're leaving," and vanished from the room with a single wave of my right clawed hand.
