《Origin Point》Arc 2 - Terra: Prologue

AN: Hello everyone, and Happy Easter! Welcome back to another round of Origin Point. In this arc, it's going to remain a dark one with minimal fluff. Well, the first part will be of his anger as he traipse through a world called Nova, and I am trying my best to portray that anger. Which means there will be vague instances such as missing descriptions of random characters. Mind you, this'll only be the first five through ten chapters where he's angry, then it'll go back to being as descriptive as possible.

One other note, there will be more of the kitsune in this arc, until he's at the castle of Brutus the Lich King.

Thank you all for reading thus far. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, let me know down below.

Seasons come and seasons go with the changing of leaves from vibrant green, to a deathly brown before littering the earth in great piles. These piles were what allowed small creatures to hide from their predators, as well as being used to frolic through with joy and elation. However, it also marked the coming of the winter months, and the migration, or hibernation, of various races upon the world called Terra.

Such was a common occurrence for those living within the Great Forest of Nu'Bai, as many of its tree had shed their leafy coverings in hibernation for the coming months. Those that did not, on the other hand, surrounded a small hidden village from the prying eyes of the world. This small village had no name, as it did not need one. For within such a place lived multiple races of all walks of life, and many outsiders were rare amongst their numbers. Once they left, something would take hold of their minds, removing all memories of how they came upon such a place, whilst many had simply forgotten the events that took place within such a village.

This village, by word of mouth, was often sought after, but rarely ever found. For this village was a place a being much greater than all of this world called Terra often visits, and some even call it the place of his birth. Yet, not all may enter such a place, especially when he was there. No, but we are not here to speak of such things. Instead, we shall focus once more upon the Ageless, golden kitsune.

Many had been gathered around their main exit point of the village proper, and it is here the golden furred kistune is being seen off, as he is needed elsewhere upon this world called Terra.

"No," wailed a small, blue furred kitsune, as it clung to the hind leg of the Ageless, "Don't leave Fox King." It's eyes were large and tear filled, as it stared into the other's eyes.

"Now, now," spoke a pink furred kitsune, who gently pealed the little one off, "You know he has to leave, but he will return, right?" Her own eyes were equally large as the little one in her arms, as they stared upon him.

"I always return, Kara. You know this," his reply was full of warmth, as his paws began to pet their heads slowly.

"But for how long will you be gone?" Her head was bent to allow her eyes to become upturned in an adorable manner.

To this, the Ageless sighed whilst scratching his head, as the little blue kitsune mirrored the older. "I will return near the end of the mating season. It is the earliest I am able to promise, but in reality it may be a sennight before the summer solstice."

The kit in her arms cocked its head to the left, its ears twitching with confusion and curiosity, as the older sighed heavily. "You had better return at the earliest, then," and sighed once more as he nodded his head slowly.

His body slowly became transparent after such words were spoken, causing many to gasp and cry out, to which he simply waved their concerns away until he had disappeared entirely. In his place, however, was a small, white furred wolf pup with red eyes. It yawned greatly, then stretched its body as other canines would, before standing to stare upon them all with eyes full of curiosity. "Master said this was my new home," its voice squeaked high, as it looked upon each face, "Who's my new mommy?"

"You gave them an offspring of Fafnir," accused a voice from within the shadows of hibernating trees. This voice was accompanied by a body in the shape of a four armed, metallic skeleton. What is more, the skeleton had the lower half of a great serpent, whilst the upper half was reptilian. When such a creature was alive, many would call it a Naga; a creature who lived within the waters of great rivers, lakes, and swamps, but in fact it was called a Nai'uum.

"Yes," replied a cold voice, as an endarkened form of the nine-tailed kitsune materialised from beneath the bare branches of a great oak tree. Gone from his eyes were the warmth and patience he had shown towards those within the hidden village, and in its place was contempt for all things living.

"Why?" Demanded the creature, of whom was now being crushed under a great force broadcasted from the body of the other.

"Do not question me, slave," the endarkened Ageless hissed, "I do what I do because I desire it done, and will not suffer your incessant demands for answers of my actions." The creature growled with vehemence, as its tailed twitched to lash out against the being before it. Unfortunately for it, he took notice of the small expression, and increased the pressure one hundred fold.

This action flattened much of its lower half, causing it to hiss with pain and anger, even as the other released it from its coils. "You will do remember this day, slave, as your next demands upon my person will result in... No," he shook his head slowly, "You will die now, as I will not have any who will cause insurrection amongst that which is mine."

The pinpoints of red within the skeletal creature's skull flared briefly, as it turned to slither deeper into the forest, but did not traverse the uneven plain for long. "Release them," he commanded to an unknown source, pointing at the fleeing back of his latest target, "Let us see how well they fight against a foe much greater than they."

Chains rattling against iron echoed all around the still forest of sleeping trees, which was followed by the mournful wails of the dead and the damned. Streaks of white flitted past his body, streaking towards the slowed body of the metallic skeleton of a Naga. "Is this wise, My Lord High God?" Asked a hushed voice of an equally endarkened being kneeling to the immediate left of his person.

"Speak your mind Roshaan. You have earned this right time and time again." The Ageless did not bother to turn around, as he knew who it was that kneeled next to his person.

This endarkened creatures called Roshaan also had four arms like that of the Naga, and was equally as metallic. However, it was not a skeleton, but that of an overly large wolf beastman. Although its fur was the colour of iron, a few streaks of red and gold was present upon its barrel-like chest and thick limbs full of muscle. Of whom wore naught, but a pair of earth brown trousers made of thin linen, as all who are liken unto itself do not need fear the elements after their transformation.

"Yes, My Lord High God. Thank you for allowing your humble servant to speak his mind," at the slight nod of the kitsune, whose eyes followed the movements of the white blurs tearing apart the body of the metallic Naga, spoke slowly, "They are still children. Is it wise to allow them to face off against something as powerful as the Nai'uum?"

The children the beastman spoke of were the white streaks that had flitted past their bodies moments ago. These creatures did not have a name one would mutter, and were often times considered as Wights. For their skin, hair, and eyes were of varying shades of white. Those before them were smaller than a normal Wight, standing under a metre tall, wore nothing in terms of clothing, whilst their heads were naught, but a large mouth full of jagged teeth.

"If they cannot handle such a creature, then they are not worth keeping," the kitsune flexed his right paw slowly, extending his clawed points at various intervals.

"It seems they are," came a hiss of a forgotten voice, which was followed shortly by a dark cloud of obsidian, "The Nai'uum has perished. What of the body?"

"Do what you will of it, as I have no use for weaklings," his voice was, but a sigh upon the winds, then turned to stalk away from the small group of metallic creatures.

More than a few metres away, however, was a large mass of creatures born from the inhabitants of the world called Terra's night terrors. Each more monstrous than the last, in a variety of ways; such as a giant made up of living stone, or an orb of fire with a face of rage. "Master," many cried out, as their eyes focused upon the endarkened fur of the kitsune, whereas the rest called him, "Lord High God".

"Is everything prepared for our departure," his voice rumbled slowly, shaking the earth beneath their feet.

"Yes, My Lord High God," hissed a metallic Naga, "Where is-?"

"The other has failed."

"Ah," it nodded its head slowly, "A pity."

"Indeed," agreed the other, who then began calling others towards his person, "Gather everything together, for we march towards the Necropolis. We have been invited to a feast."

"A feat, My Lord High God?" Blinked the metallic beastman called Roshaan, "What is the celebration about?"

"Oh? Don't you know?" The Naga chuckled slightly at the curiosity of the wolf, "Our Lord High God's first servant, the Lich King, is celebrating the coming of age for one of his own. You could say it is his daughter," a gleam of gold flashed through its eyes for a brief moment, as its teeth were bare for all to see.

"Yes," the earth beneath their feet shook once more, as their Ageless watched them all from his mount. T'was a great wyrm he sat upon, one whose scales resembled the various flakes of newborn snow upon crags of rocks and earth. This beast did not have limbs, nor wings, but of something else which allowed it to move and glide through the air, land, and sea. This something was made up of translucent, ethereal energies which coated its entirety, and created its own draconic limbs, tail, and head.

"The Lich King desired an offspring in order to experiment with any paternal instinct he might have," he continued, "Therefore, I have gifted him one, and it has now come of age."

"What does this mean for you, My Lord High God?" The wolf beastman bowed his low as curiosity coated his entire being.

"It means we shall soon see what the offspring is capable of. If it proves useful, then it will be used until it can give nothing. If not..." He left these words unsaid, as all within hearing distance knew that those who are not useful are killed off almost immediately. "But come, the journey will take more than a sennight to reach the edge of the forest proper. In this time, I shall tell you all a tale of my past."

All within thanked their Ageless for thinking of them whilst they travelled, but were waved away as he continued with, "I desire to speak of it. Therefore, you shall all hear of it, but before I begin... Sol'ahn," his voice echoed throughout the forest, calling upon a creature whose form was nothing more than a mass of tentacles and floated over the heads of all within such a large gathering.

"Yes, my master," came a hauntingly, sickly-sweet melody that caused many a body to shiver and shy away from the words.

"Touch all minds in concert to my own. For I have need of your skills once more, Mindflayer, and all must know of my words as I tell a tale from my past."

"Yes, my master. Your will be done." Nearly all bodies within the gathering shivered at the touch of the Mindflayer, whilst some screeched at its invasion of their minds. This was done solely because their Ageless willed it so, and could not retaliate, even as his voice began with a tale of the past once again.
