Chris fixed his hair and was ready for the next thing that Tsubaki would throw at him.

“There are 10 levels in this training area. 1 is the weakest, and as the level rises by number, the soldiers and weapons you see in front of you will indeed become stronger, faster and so on. You can only rely on the sword in your hand to protect you. If you want to rely on other weapons such as handguns, then you are more than welcome to use them.” Tsubaki said as she stood beside TenTen.

Chris only nodded and was very eager to fight these new enemies. He was very curious to see just how strong these new enemies are.

“Mom, was it necessary to shock him?” TenTen asked.

“Just to vent my frustration a bit. I know that you like him, Dear, I may not know exactly why you like him, but I will respect your decision and not kill him.” Tsubaki said with a smile.

TenTen “...”

“Hey, just out of curiosity, what level am I right now?” Asked Chris.

“Level 1”

“What is highest record anyone has ever achieved?”

“Nine.”

“And what happens if I beat the record? Do I get anything in return?”

“No. Just think that the experience of fighting these enemies is more than enough.”

“Well, darn.” Chris shrugged his arms and stopped mentioning this topic. But, that is the moment when Tsubaki had a good idea.

“I will make you a deal then, if you don’t manage to reach level 9, then you will have to do something for me in return.”

Chris raised his eyebrow. He could read her mind, and he knew what she wanted him to do, but it won’t be mentioned.

“Okay. But, if I win, you will have to start calling me ‘Son-in-law’”

“...” Tsubaki didn’t say anything, as she had no idea how to respond to that. According to TenTen, it hasn’t been a week since TenTen and Chris had started going out, and now he already thinks that they are going to get married despite not having a deep relationship.

TenTen only covered her face out of embarrassment. To think that Chris would put her in such an awkward position.

“Very well.” Tsubaki said with all her might, right now, she doesn’t even see him as TenTen’s boyfriend, much less her son-in-law.

She doesn’t know how to be a parent, even back in Konoha, she was only with TenTen for a short period of time. She had long forgotten that sense of being a mother.

Tsubaki must face the fact that TenTen is not the small baby she held in her arms, she is already grown up.

Maybe because she missed all those times a parent should have been there for their child, her first words, her first steps, her first day of school, she missed all those precious days.

If she could, she would want to go back and see those moments, and to also cockblock Chris from making any moves on her daughter.

“Start Holographic training level 1.” Tsubaki voiced out a command.

“Affirmative!” A woman’s voice sounded throughout the room, it sounded a lot like siri.

Then the holographic troops began moving in formation and aimed their weapons towards Chris. They started shooting at will with all those blue laser bullets aimed perfectly at Chris.

If this was anyone else, they would have stood there not knowing what to do. But Chris was from another world, he has seen many weapons like these in TV.

Chris was able to block off those bullets with his sword, just like in Star Wars. He didn’t know if the speed of these blue-light bullets can be compared to the ordinary bullets in his Earth, but these seem to be slightly slower.

Chris dodged their attacks and proceeded to cut them all down with his sword. After five minutes, all those holograms fell to his blade in 2 minutes.

Tsubaki wasn’t shocked by this result, even she can accomplish this feat alone in such a short amount of time, so there was really no need to praise Chris.

But, TenTen and Kat felt that Chris looked cool. The speed of those energy bullets are faster than kunais and shurikens from Konoha, which gave them a better glimpse of this world’s way of fighting.

TenTen seemed to be overly thrilled about those weapons. As someone who collects and likes to fight with weapons, these new advanced weapons were like presenting her to a whole new world. She was quite eager to try those weapons.

This was the first time Chris has ever seen these weapons in action. Although he already knew about the existence of these guns way before he got to this world, he had never actually seen it being used.

He quickly got accustomed to the speed of those bullets and was able to easily evade those shots and kill the holographic people. It was thanks to his skill that would let him learn anything quicker than anybody, that also includes their way of fighting and whatnot.

“Start holographic training level 3.” She purposely skipped a level.

The whole area seemed to be the same, but the troops seemed to have tripled, and even some of their weapons on hand have changed appearances.

When the battle started, Chris noticed that not only did the appearances of the guns changed, but also the way that people used to fight changed drastically

Chris could tell that there was some weird flaws the way that they used to fight, but now they have drastically improved.

Those new weapons are like submachine guns, they can fire bullets faster than before. Chris seemed to have all his sides cut off by those bullets, as they nearly all blocked his exits.

He had trouble blocking almost all of their shots with his sword alone. Until, he had a good idea to solve his problems.

“First gate! Gate of opening, OPEN!” Chris used this move that Lee had taught him, now he can easily deal with everyone here.

Tsubaki was shocked to see this move. She knows only one person who can use the eight gates, Might Guy.

TenTen and Kat were also surprised to see this technique. They had no idea that Chris had just learned this move not too long ago.

“TenTen, you didn’t mention that he was Guy’s student.” Said Tsubaki.

“He isn’t. I was also in Guy sensei’s group, but the only one he taught this technique was Lee.”

“Weird… Then does that mean that this Lee character taught Chris this powerful move?”

“Probably. I think Lee wanted Chris to learn this move, because it might give Chris a better chance on defeating the Alien.”

Tsubaki agreed with her daughter, that was the only plausible explanation right now. Tsubaki already knew Guy died when TenTen told her beforehand.

“I wonder just how far he can go with that move.”

Meanwhile, Chris managed to clear the third level of the training room. Using the eight gate technique is truly formidable.

In this world, almost no one can use chakra, thus the people here are no different from ordinary. They only rely on their high tech to help them fight, and that makes their bodies neglect the training of a ninja.

Chris soon defeated the horde of holographic people. He was very satisfied with this result.

“How about that?” Asked Chris.

Tsubaki didn’t respond to him. She does admit that she is a bit surprised at his strength, but it still isn’t enough.

“Activate training room level 5.”

The holographic field disappeared as if it was never there. Shortly after, a bulky man appeared before them, wearing what appeared to look like a exo-suit.

“His name is Zed, he is in charge of training the troops of the kingdom, I called him here to give you an even better glimpse of the strength of this world.”

Chris was more shocked that this man responded so quickly to Tsubaki’s summons. He didn’t even see her make a call or a text.

Holograms are cool, but they are nothing compared to the real thing. The first 4 levels are meant only for the new people who have never experienced a life and death battle. That is what Tsubaki worked, and she is very right.

After level 5 is when the real thing happens.

Zed only nodded and bowed before Chris.

“And also, keep in mind that Zed cannot talk, he had his tongue ripped out by shreds when he was taken captive as a prisoner a few years ago.”

Zed opened up his mouth, because he wanted Chris to see that his tongue was missing. Honestly, he didn’t need to do that. Chris was a bit grossed out all of a sudden.

Zed was an old man, with his head completely bald, and his face looked very old, with wrinkles and such, he was at least between the age of 50-60. Then again, Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru are possibly over that age.

He might be old, but his physique is very well build. Despite the people of this world relying so much on technology, this man is probably one of the few rare people who actually work out in a gym to gain a bit of an advantage in battle.

“You may began.”

Zed extended his hand towards Chris and shot out multiple energy bullets straight at Chris.

This attack was quite unexpected, but Chris was able to open up the second gate and managed to block and dodge his bullets.

Zed only extended his other arm and shot even more bullets. Chris ran around Zed as he was being followed by a barrage of bullets.

When he felt that he was close enough to Zed, Chris jumped high over Zed and was planning to end this in one move, but he was wrong.

Zed activated a pair of jetpacks from his back and managed to successfully avoid his attack.

Chris really didn’t expect Zed to avoid his attack by using a jetpack. But, he failed to notice that Zed had planted a few metal balls where Chris was standing.

*BOOM*

Those metal balls exploded and sent Chris flying back meters away from where he was standing.

“Chris!” TenTen and Kat were about to go help him up, but Tsubaki stopped them by stretching her hand in front of them.

“Cough! Cough!” Chris stood up from the floor, and noticed that he was coughing up blood. Those metal balls were actually grenades, and according to reading Tsubaki’s mind, these are not meant to be lethal, as they are meant to be used for training, but it can still deal tons of damage if one is not careful enough.

It’s times like these that Chris wishes that he had his healing Kekkei Genkai back, along with his other OP Kekkei Genkais.

“Chris, are you okay?” Asked TenTen worried for him.

“I’m fine.”

“You see, the people in battle use these suits in combat, they are called exo-suits. They can make a person much stronger and faster just by wearing them. They also come equipped with several other mechanisms to help us gain an advantage in battles.” Explained Tsubaki.

Chris didn’t say anything, he only got up and wiped the blood from his mouth.

Tsubaki looked at TenTen, who was looking at her with hateful eyes for hurting her boyfriend. She can understand if she only meant it as a joke, but Chris was coughing blood right now, that clearly was a sign of strong violence.

Tsubaki could only add another sentence: “I have seen many people die, not just in this world, but back in Konoha too. The ones who have affected me the most are the children who have died during the conflict. That is why this training is very important, because war doesn’t care who you are, you will die if you lack the strength to protect yourself.”

TenTen understood now. Her mother isn’t doing this to hurt Chris, she is doing this to protect him and them from a possible disaster.

During the time Orochimaru invaded Konoha, TenTen could have died in that war is she wasn’t prepared beforehand.

She unconsciously thanked Chris for taking his time to teach TenTen to protect herself and others. If it weren’t for that, then maybe none of them would be able to lift the giant rock and protect everyone from the alien invasion.

Tsubaki rubbed TenTen’s head gently, to comfort her.

“Again.” Chris said suddenly.

“What?” Tsubaki said.

“I am not giving up until I have made it to the ninth level.”

“May I recommend an exo suit. You have already seen how powerful it is, and it isn’t even at full power yet.”

“I don’t need an exo suit.” Chris said very firmly.

True, that exo-suit might give even an ordinary person a boost of power, but Chris didn’t come here to try on suits, he came here to get stronger.

Blue Screen once mentioned that Fan Uchiha used to be so strong, that not even 100 Kaguya’s would be enough to defeat him. But, he had never mentioned that Fan relied on technology before that.

All that strength, came from his Kekkei Genkais. Chris believes that his Kekkei Genkais will return to him, so he cannot ignore the strength a person has. Using this technology is also like ignoring the training that he needs to build up for the future.

For example, his most powerful move ‘Peaceful cannon’ came from his strength by understanding the meaning of peace.

He needs to learn the meaning of freedom, rage, and balance. If peaceful cannon was that strong, imagine learning all those moves. No technology in any world could measure its power.

There are many powers out there, and Chris cannot wait to conquer them all, and become stronger than Fan Uchiha, or anybody else out there.

Tsubaki looked at Chris for a moment, and nodded her head in agreement, as if she knew what he was thinking.

Tsubaki wasn’t born with a Kekkei Genkai, thus that is why she relies heavily on weapons, taijutsu, fuinjutsu and technology is what got her this far in life. She believes that one must use the advantages that they were bestowed upon birth.

She didn’t know it, but her view of Chris went up a bit.

Tsubaki nodded her head toward Zed.

“Began.”

Chris stood firmly on the ground, his feet planted firmly as he let out deep breathes.

“Fourth gate: Gate of pain, open.” His skin turned red, and he emitted a powerful aura that only the wielder of the 8 gates would have.

He disappeared from everyone’s sights, and launched Zed back even further than those metal balls did to Chris.

People might think that he teleported, but he merely ran up to Zed and kicked him hard in the stomach. There was a noticeable dent on Zed’s stomach from the force of Chris’s attack.

Zed couldn’t even say anything, but he managed to stand up despite taking on that hit. The exo-suit also protects the wearers as if it were some sort of armor.

Zed nodded at Chris as a sign that he has recognized him as a strong foe. He turned to look at Tsubaki and nodded his head slightly.

“Activate training level 7.”

Zed’s exo-suit powered up to its maximum power, it was being overloaded with power. These exo-suits have limiters in them, this was added to prevent the exo-suit from wasting too much energy.

Since the energy of this world is scarce, they would want to use the less as possible to save their resources. But, if one faces a troublesome enemy, then the people who have the exo-suits are allowed to release its limit.

After all, wasting a bit of their energy is nothing compared to saving a person’s life.

The difficulty of each level will get harder, the first few stages involved holograms, but Tsubaki skipped a few levels because she felt that Chris would have won easily.

Since this is level 7 and Zed is already reached the maximum level for his exo suit, imagine how tough the levels after that will be.

Zed launched an attack straight at Chris, but it collided with Chris’s fist as well. The battle was getting intense, and Chris thought that this technology must be highly advanced if it can match the 4th gate.

To normal people they both seem to have the same power level, but Chris was actually getting in a few more punches than Zed.

Tsubaki already know the capability of the suit, but it was too weak if it can barely hold on to someone who has unlocked the 4th gate.

Luckily for Tsubaki, this exo-suit it only the first version, the latest versions that her engineers had built far exceeded the suit in terms of power, but it also required more energy to consume, that is why she never bothered bringing those latest versions of the exo-suits into training.

Naturally, those powerful exo-suits are only used by the strongest and most loyal people in her kingdom.

TenTen was also observing the suit very carefully. If an ordinary man can have that kind of power by simply wearing the suit, then imagine just how powerful the people of Konoha will be once they use this suit.

While Chris was fighting Zed, he started to feel his body giving in to the side effects of this powerful technique. He could actually hear his bones cracking from the sheer pressure of this power.

If it were before, his body would heal rapidly and he wouldn’t worry about such trivial problem. If it weren’t because of the training he did with his body before, then he might have been in a fatal position by now.

“Fifth gate: Gate of limit, open!” Once again, his speed and power rose dramatically and he finally took down Zed in his exo-suit.

Zed fell to the floor, still conscious. He could barely move his body after exerting himself in this fight.

The fifth gate was Chris’s limit, he still isn’t able to break this bottleneck, but he feels that he is closer to understanding how to unlock the sixth gate.

He stopped using that power and started to lose his balance. He tripped and expected to fall onto the hard ground, but he felt something soft on top of his head.

It was TenTen who caught him just in time.

“You did good.” She stroked his head gently, this was the first time she has ever done this, and it felt great.

In his past life, Chris always wondered why girls liked to be patted on the head, now he knows why, it feels good, especially when the one who is petting your head is the one you love.

“I can’t move, TenTen. The power of that technique is still too much for me.” Chris could only lament, not even Guy would come out unscathed after using this technique for too long.

“I know.” Said TenTen.

Tsubaki could see her daughters eyes, they were filled with nothing but happiness, warmth and sadness for seeing the one she loves being pushed over his limit like that.

Chris was too ashamed right now. If it were before, he could have easily taken care of this guy, but he now realized just how weak he is without his Kekkei Genkais.

He still had his other skills, but for some reason never bothers to use them. He just wanted to test the strength of the eight gates’ power, and he faintly was able to understand its power.

“We’ll take an hour break. All he needs is some rest, TenTen, you can lead him to our room, there might also be some medicinal bottles in the cabinets.” Said Tsubaki as she personally helped Zed to the medical room.

She had seen a few times when Guy would use this technique on a fight, but a good rest would almost always solve his problems.

The medicine produced in this world far exceeds what Konoha has, or any other Nation. It can heal broken bones easily as if it were putting a band-aid on a small scratch on some kid’s kneecap.

“Um, TenTen, could you carry me to the room. My body isn’t responding well.” That was a lie, Chris would very well move a bit, but he just wanted to feel spoiled by TenTen.

TenTen nodded. “Okay.” She proceeded to lift his legs and back, and carried his princess style.

“Wait! Why are you carrying me like this?” He felt embarrassed being carried princess style. Shouldn’t the roles be reversed?

TenTen didn’t respond as she proceeded to walk away with him on her arms. Kat carried Hinata on her back while following TenTen.

Unbeknownst to them, Fred was once again waiting outside the door of the room where Chris and others were.

Fred has some bandages on his nose when Tsubaki accidentally broke it an hour earlier.

Even with a broken nose, he is not gonna stop until he has at least asked Hinata out, even if it is a pity date.

“You can do this, Fred. Don’t be a pussy. You are already at the front door, and all you gotta do is knock once… Just once.”

He has already been standing at that same spot for half an hour, and he has yet to make any progress at all. He is a very pitiful kid.

He has also been talking to himself in third person all this time. The people passing by thought that he had something against the door or something.

*BOOM*

The door opened abruptly once again, and it hit his face and mostly his nose. This was just like Deja Vu all over again.

TenTen was the one who kicked the door this time. Since Chris was in her arms, she only had her legs to open up the door. As futuristic as this place is, it doesn’t have a goddamn automatic door.

TenTen was just too happy to notice that she met some resistance in opening the door. For some reason, she finds it pleasant to hold Chris like a princess.

Kat followed them, but her focus was on Hinata’s chest area, she was even comparing her own size with hers.

Once they left, Fred dropped to the ground with a bloody nose. It might be broken now, but it’s nothing medicine can’t fix.

But, the medicine of this kingdom is quite scarce, thus the doctors will most likely just stitch Fred’s wounds. Unless if it were a real emergency, they will not use their valuable resources on something that can be cured over time.

Fred was left alone, unconscious, on the cold hard ground. People might think he died from a glance at first.

And that is when Fred has learned of the terrifying strength that a door possesses.

At this rate, he might be Isekaied to another world by door-kun. No one has ever seen another existence like this in their whole life.
