Me and bald didn’t talk much, especially since he found out that me and Itachi are related in a way. So it was pretty boring here.

Before the last 5 minutes were up, I made my way on one to the worms that were hiding underneath the dirt, and I introduced one to bald.

I passed the test easily, but the others did not. Only 3 more birds were lucky enough to find a little insect, the other 86 were not so lucky, and thus, they had no choice but to quit this round

This two rounds were extremely boring and easy. Isn’t anything interesting gonna happen in this tournament. Because if this was a fanfic light novel, then it would have the worst ratings that anyone has ever seen.

(*Sniff* excuse me while I eat this bowl of ice cream alone in my room, while watching ‘your lie in april’ and snuggle with my favourite pillow.)

After that ended, bald led us out of the forest, and the four of us stood in the giant platform. We were waiting for the Phoenix king’s commands to start the 3rd round of the tournament.

Then the Phoenix king came out, and he watched us from down below with those very serious eyes of his and said.

“Birds and human, you have surprised me with your luck at surviving the first and second round. But your luck will end right now. Because the three of you will decide what the last round is gonna be.” (Phoenix king)

Everyone but Chris was confused by what he said, usually he would gladly announce the rules of the round, and yet he's giving us options for the third round.

“I will give the four of you a few options to choose from. First option, the four of you will fight my very own children, and if you make it out alive, you win.” (Phoenix king)

The three other birds beside me shuttered in fear. There isn't another bird alive who can take on the Phoenixes. Even with all of them combined, they will have no chance at surviving this round.

“The second option is simpler. The three of you will gang up on the human, and whoever takes out the human first, wins the round instantly.” (Phoenix king)

Then every single bird looked at me in pity, and in a mocking expression. They hated me because I am part of a different race, and I shamelessly kicked out 11 birds on the first round…

Al couldn't help but yell out.

“Oh this is total BS! How is that fair.” (Al)

Of course, Al was lucky that the Phoenix king didn't hear him, as others were also talking about this unusual third round. Thus blocking the noise from reaching the Phoenix king’s ears.

I also couldn't help but say to the king.

“This is a racist thing, isn't it!” (Chris)

Of course the Phoenix king only smirked in amusement, and waited patiently for us to decide how the third round was gonna go.

“I think it's fair that we should choose based on a democratic vote.” (Bao)

A bird by the name Bao said this to the rest of us.

“Second option.” (Bird 1)

“Second option.” (Bird 2)

“Sorry human, but the second option it is.” (Bao) said. That was very quick.

It's not like they chose the second option because they hated me, but mostly out of fear. They would rather take their chances with a human than with the Phoenixes.

“But, the first option seems way more fun. I say we take on the Phoenixes.” (Chris)

Everyone ignored me, and pretended they didn't listen to me at all.

What I just said was true. I came here for three things. An awesome summoning contract, learn how to control natural energy, and have some fun.

And to be honest, these three birds don't look like they can't even give me a good warm up at all.

“Have you all decided yet.” (Phoenix king)

The Phoenix king with his insanely good hearing, was able to hear us all the way from the top of the tree.

“We chose option 2.” (Bao)

“Wait! But I wanted option-” (Chris) I couldn't finish my sentence before the Phoenix king interrupted me.

“Great! You may begin.” (Phoenix king)

Then at that time, the three birds surrounded me in a triangle formation, and were ready to beat me up anytime.

If you guys are wondering why the Phoenix king decided to do this to me, here's why.

FLASHBACK NO JUTSU!

1 hour earlier.

“Dad! You're seriously letting a human to participate in the tournament, again! Did you forget what Itachi did last time.” (Marco) said

“It doesn't matter as long as he's strong.” (Valor)

“The tournament is free for anyone to join, that includes other species as well.” (Phoenix king)

“But couldn't you see that abnormal amount of chakra he has. He might have hid it well, but it can't escape our eyes. I say we kick him off the tournament, and put him back in whatever ditch he came from.” (Marco)

“That's a good idea, son. Infact, I give you full permission to do that.” (Phoenix king)

“Really!!!” (Marco) couldn't help but say in surprise. His father is almost never this kind to them.

“But you have to make a sacrifice. If you kick him out of this tournament, I will kick you out of the family.” (Phoenix king) said in a sarcastic tone.

Marco then acted like an idiot, and pretended that he never had this discussion with his dad.

“Why do you favour him so much, dad.” (Hail) who was on the side, couldn't help but ask.

“Well I got a report from old crow, that this little human is related to Itachi.” (Phoenix king)

“That explains a lot. Related in what way, is he Itachi’s brother.” (Marco)

“Close. He's Itachi’s brother in law.” (Phoenix king)

Although the message wasn't written exactly as he said, he could tell that this kid was very close with Itachi, or his family. Otherwise, Itachi would have never given him such an important scroll to him.

“So wait, does Itachi have a sister, or does this other human have a sister.” (Geo) said a bit curious.

“I don't think that’s important. What matters is if this kid is as strong as Itachi. (Valor) said as his eyes can be seen to be itching for a fight.

“Haven't you learned your lesson. Didn't Itachi wipe the floor with you, and yet you actually requested a rematch after he beat your ass.” (Marco) said to his brother, Valor.

“This coming from the one, who was knocked out faster than you called say, ‘idiot’” (Valor)

“Ladies ladies don't fight over me. How about we just calm down, and settle it with a drink.” (Rogue)

“Please stop with your useless jokes, Rogue, they're as funny as you can fly. Oh wait that's right, you can't.” (Marco)

(Audience: Ooooohhhhh!!! Need some ice for that BURN!!!)

“That's enough!” (Phoenix king) yelled to his three children.

“Father’s right, we shouldn't be quick to judge him.” (Hail) said to her brothers.

“Indeed you're right, we should give him a small ‘test’” (Phoenix king)

“In other words, rig the tournament.” (Geo)

“Exactly. And I know just what to do.” (Phoenix king)

PRESENT TIME!

“This is your great idea? Have three small fries gang up on a powerhouse like that kid.” (Geo)

“This is the best I could come up with.” (Phoenix king)

Although he is the Phoenix king, his creativity sucks.

“I've had it with this crappy tournaments, next time I'm hosting.” (Valor) said.

“Nope! My village, my rules BITCH!!!” (Phoenix king) to his son, Valor.

And back to Chris. (That was a funny moment with the Phoenixes, anybody else agree with me.)

The three birds launched a sneak attack on me, but I dodged them easily. Without my gravity seals on me, or without my weighted clothing holding me down, I felt as light as a feather.

Maybe I should use this time to use one of my skills that haven't used ever since I got here. But which ones did I have again..

I remember. So far the only skills I haven't used are ‘inflict fear’ and ‘charmer’ should I use them right now.

(I didn't put the skills list on a blue screen, because blue screen is reading his one piece manga.)

As I was thinking about this, the other three birds were getting annoyed that they couldn't land a single hit on me.

⅔ of them are able to use chakra, but still couldn't land a hit on me.

Birds don't have the same chakra pool as ordinary humans do, because they haven't practiced it for as long as humans have.

So thanks to evolution and adapting to chakra, we are the only race who is able to use chakra more efficiently than any other species of animals.

I used this moment to use charmer on Bao, since he's the one who started the democratic vote, he'll be the first one to test my skills.

Once I used it, Bao literally grew hearts for eyes. He looked at me as if I used the move ‘attract’ on him, and it was super effective.

So it also works on the same sex, or is it because we're different species. I need to test this move when I get back home.

“My beautiful queen, your servant awaits for your orders.” (Bao)

Aw shit! How the hell do I turn him back to his old self. Not only is it gay, but super creepy. Hopefully this isn't permanent. Where the hell is blue screen when you need him.

“What the hell, Bao? What's gotten into you all of a sudden.” (Bird 2) said to his companion.

“I only respond to my queen.” (Bao)

But you just responded to him. Ah screw it.

“Bao. Knock this guy off the platform.” (Chris)

I would rather not use my time solving this problem, so why not use it to my advantage.

“Yes my queen.” (Bao)

I regret ever getting this skill in the first place. I should have used ‘inflict fear’ from the start.

Then Bao immediately launched himself to bird 2, and they were both exchanging blows.

The one who was winning was Bao. Not because he is better than his opponent, but because he caught his opponent off guard, thus giving Bao the advantage.

Not only was bird 2 having trouble processing this through his mind, but the other birds on the sidelines were also having trouble about the current situation.

“Dad! Did you see that as well.” (Marco)

“I'm not blind, of course I saw that.” (Phoenix king)

They were talking about the moment when I used my ‘Charmer’ skill on Bao. They saw a faint pink light enter his body, then after that, Bao started acting weird.

“Looks like he isn't as normal as I thought. Makes me wanna test my strength on him.” (Valor) said while looking at me.

“I'm kinda worried for me.” (Hail) what were to happen if she acted like Bao is. It would tarnish her reputation and dignity as well.

“Quit complaining, this is fun to watch.” (Phoenix king)

“Watching your own villagers fighting is fun for you…” (Geo)

“Yup!” (Phoenix king) said without showing any signs of sympathy to Bao or bird 2.

“Agreed! This village is as boring as listening to your stupid lectures. Which is Long, dull, and full of baloney.” (Marco)

“You wanna get the ass whooping of your life.” (Phoenix king)

“You wouldn't dare. I'm literally a full grown man, I'm not a kid anymore.” (Marco)

‘We’ll see after the tournament. Hehehehe!’ Phoenix king thought to himself.

After the fight ended, Bao and bird two knocked each other out of the tournament. Bao was still attracted to me, and didn't want to leave my side even though he lost this round.

So the eagle guards had no choice but to remove him by force from my leg. Bao was crying and yelling like a kid who didn't get what he wanted.

So the eagle guards knocked him out cold. Then they dragged his unconscious body out of the stadium.

“Whatever sorcery you used on Bao won't work on me. I'm ready to take you on.” (Bird 1) said while you could see his whole body shaking from fear.

He was a chicken to begin with (literally)

And now without the help of the other two birds, how could he not be scared. He was already tired from the first round, and also from searching the entire forest for a single worm. So he was not in a position to fight someone like me.

“That's okay, I won't use the same move on you, like I did with him.” (Chris)

The bird sighed in relief after hearing what I said.

‘Instead, I'll use the fear skill that I wanted to use for a long time. I never had the chance to use his move, till now.’

I activated the ‘fear’ skill, and almost a second later, the chicken fainted…

Huh? I expected more from this skill. I am gonna have to find someone else to test these moves on. These guys are literally the worst test subjects anyone could have asked for.

“Well I don't know what the hell that was, so let's just move on.” (Phoenix king)

The other Phoenixes also noticed when I used the fear skill on the poor chicken, but they paid it no attention to it, so they moved on.

“Young human. You have won the Phoenix tournament.” (Phoenix king)

…..(sounds of silence)

I guess the king expected everyone to make some kind of noise or something, but nobody said anything.

Al however, wanted to break the awkward mood.

“Woooo!? Alright we won! We won! Those seeds are ours for the taking. Yahooooooo!!!!” (Al)

He was too happy about winning that grand prize, that he didn't notice the gazes he got from the rest of the birds. Even Penny didn't even know what to say. She was happy now that they didn't need to suffer starvation any longer, but she still was afraid of humans. It was just hard to explain what Penny was thinking right now.

“Young human. You have won the right for those bird seeds, and also the right to be taught natural energy from me personally. But do you want the other prize as well.” (Phoenix king)

“What other prize?” (Chris)

Did Al forget to mention me about a third prize.

“The other prize is to fight my children.” (Phoenix king)

…..

No one said anything, even the cheerful Al stopped cheering. What kind of prize is that. That's no different from suicide.

“And that's it…” (Chris) that sounds more like an extra challenge, rather than a reward.

“Allow me to finish. If you win the final round, you get the exclusive ‘Phoenix contract’

Then the Phoenix king showed me a very shining summoning scroll that he held with his claw. It definitely looked a lot stronger than the scroll Itachi gave me, and it also was emitting a very strong aura. I must have it.

“But if I lose this round, do I lose the previous rewards as well.” (Chris)

“Nope! Even if you lose this round, you can still go home with those bird seeds, and you still get to learn to master natural energy. Do you accept the challenge.” (Phoenix king)

He doesn't mind giving out those rewards, as I have already earned them. But he just wants to know if I am the one who is qualified to not only have the Phoenix contract, but to also be taught the strongest natural energy there is.

“I think we both know the answer to that question.” (Chris) I said confident in my strength to take down those Phoenixes.

“Good. Then what will it be. 1v1, 1v2. Please choose how many of my children you want to take on at the same time.” (Phoenix king)

Everybody had their ears perked up for my answer.

I decided to go for the obvious answer.

“I chose 1v5.” (Chris)

This way I can go home faster than going through 1v1. I'm starting to miss Luna already.

Then the expressions of everyone changed. How could a shameless kid like myself even request something like that.

Even Al thought he was hallucinating. It was his actions that got me here in the first place. And if I died, how could he ever live for the rest of his life.

He’ll probably forget about me anyways.

Then 5 majestic birds descended down at the arena, and landed down on the platform like total badasses. Each of them were the height of a two story floor building. They all looked very imposing and strong.

“You have chosen well, human. I want a good challenge from you. So if you fail to give me a good warm up, you will die from my claw.” (Valor) said.

“Good luck, tiny human.” (Hail) said a bit worried for me. She also said this in hope that I won't use that weird move on her, like I did with Bao.

“You're no match for my speed at all. Prepare to be knocked off the platform.” (Marco)

“Let's just get this over with already.” (Geo)

“Since you can't fly, I will also have a good chance to fight.” (Rogue)

“These children are so impatient. But safety first.” (Phoenix king)

He then stomped he claw very hard on the ground, then some sort of energy barrier surrounded the giant platform. It almost looked like a giant bird cage.

“This is just a percussion in case you all decide to go all out. Now is everyone ready.” (Phoenix king)

“Yes!” (Everyone) including me answered firmly.

“Then let the last round of the Phoenix tournament… BEGIN!” (Phoenix king)
