“So where do we go now?” (Chris) I said to Al as i continued to follow him.

“Well if I remember correctly, the tournament doesn’t start in a few hours. Let’s stop by my home first, my family must be worried for me. (Al) said

“I don’t see why not.” (Chris)

We entered the village, then I started getting weird facial expressions from everybody. It’s not that common to find humans in this place.

I ignored all the eyes on me, and continued following Al to his home. I could have sworn that most of these birds, were looking at me as if I were a giant walking worm, waiting to be eaten by them.

We arrived at Al’s home. It looked kinda shabby compared to the other homes I saw on the way here. It was just a bird nest, that could fit about 4-5 people in there.

“Al! You’re back.” (Al’s mother) said out loud.

Out of the bird nest. I saw a female bird coming out, she was about my height, and her feather colours were a bit duller than Al. But I could tell she was Al’s mother.

(It is said that male birds have more shining feathers than females, so they can attract the opposite sex. Whereas female birds have duller feather colours, so they can adapt to the environment better, to protect their nest and/or eggs.)

She then ran up to Al and hugged him very hard with her feathers.

“Its okay mom, this human saved me from those mean bullies.” (Al) said while pointing at me.

“A human saved you… I don’t know what to say.” (Al’s mother) said.

Humans are rarely ever seen here. And the fact that her son was saved by a human, she doesn’t know how to thank me.

“It was nothing really. Al just promised me to be my guide to this village.” (Chris)

“Oh crap! I forgot about pen.” (Al) said as he remembered something.

Did he forget about a pen? Because I could easily make one with my creation ability.

“Al you’re back…” (Pen)

I saw another female bird come here, and flew to Al’s side. She was happy to see him. But when she looked at me, a horrified expression appeared on her face.

“A human! Get away from me.” (Pen) said in fear, and backed off several feet from me. then flew far away.

“Pen listen to me. He’s a good guy, he is not gonna hurt you.” (Al) said as he tried to chase after Penny.

Then I felt something pull on my shirt. I turned to see who it was, and it was Al’s mother pulling my shirt with her beak.

“I am so sorry, human. But please get in the nest.” (Al’s) mother said pleadingly.

I don’t know what was happening, but I complied with Al’s mother and followed her to the nest.

The nest inside was nothing more than twigs and leafs. But it was pretty spacious. The nest was build on the ground, so there was barely any twigs lying on the ground.

“I am so sorry for that. Al forgets most of the things, because of a symptom he got when he lost his father.” (Al’s mother) said sadly.

“Sorry to hear that.” (Chris)

“It’s okay, it happened a long time ago. He still believes to this day that his father is gonna return soon… I am sorry I said that, I got lost in the moment.” (Al’s mother)

“That’s alright. But what’s the problem with the other bird.” (Chris)

“Her name is Penny, but we call her 'Pen' for short. She lost her father because a human once tried to kill her and him. Pen’s father sacrificed his life for his daughter, and after that incident, she has started developing a phobia for humans.” (Al’s mother)

“I see.” (Chris) no wonder she looked at me like that.

“This happened outside the village. And Al was there at that time when she was about to be killed. Al managed to kill the human, and save Penny’s life. And from there, she has been his girlfriend ever since.” (Al’s mother) said.

That almost sounds like something that would happen to an MC in a story.

“I may not know much about Al, but he is definitely a good guy. I would definitely want to be friends with him.” (Chris)

Maybe I could treat Al’s short term memory loss. But could it also remind him when he lost his father. Maybe some things are better off if I don’t fix them.

“It’s okay, Penny, relax. He saved my life and he is a good person.” (Al) came home with his girlfriend, and led her slowly to the nest.

Penny was breathing heavily, and tried not to look at my direction at all. She was very scared right now. But after her encouragement from her boyfriend, she slightly got better and decided to fight her fears.

Maybe I can fix her problem as well, but I don’t think she will let me near her at all.

“Sorry Al, but I can’t do this.” (Penny) said as she started to basically run away with her little feet.

“Sorry about that, I’ll go get after her.” (Al) said as he tried running after her, but I stopped him in his tracks.

“Al! Just let her be. Sometimes girls need a lot of time to think things over, so just let her think it through for some time.” (Chris)

It may not be such a smart idea to force her into her fears so fast. So Penny needs to be prepared mentally for this.

“Okay but let me comfort her, it’s my fault that I forgot her phobia for humans.” (Al) said as he once again ran after her.

“Smart move. Looks like Al respects you quite a bit, so how did you both meet. Oh my goodness. You saved my son’s life and I haven’t treated you to anything.” (Al’s mother) tried to think of something to offer me.

“That’s alright, miss. I ate on the way and I wouldn’t want to cause you trouble.” (Chris)

I may have just entered this world. But I remember that Naruto was fed small insects when he started training in the land of toads.

So knowing birds. They must eat seeds, worms, and maybe small insects as well. I don’t wanna eat that at all.

“It’s just that, we don’t have that many visitors often. And most of our food is kept on a secret place.” (Al’s mother) said.

“You keep your food in a secret place? Do you have thiefs or something.” (Chris)

“Yes! Since we have a problem with our food source, other birds have started stealing from each other.” (Al’s mother)

“Makes sense. So what do you guys do to feed each other. Do you work or something.” (Chris)

I am a little curious to see how these guys have maintained themselves in this harsh environment.

“Since you’re a human, you don’t know much about us. You see, we have to hunt for our prey, and sometimes we kill each other for even the smallest insect.” (Al’s mother) said.

“And how are the three of you still alive.” (Chris) these guys are very weak compared to the other birds. So how are they able to live and feed each other.

“Well that’s how my mate died. But me, Penny, and Al are very small and weak, we have to plant our seeds for them to grow and hopefully we have enough food for the day.” (Al’s mother)

“I see. And you also have to worry about thieves, and the other birds. But don’t worry, because that problem will be solved.” (Chris)

“What do you mean?” (Al’s mother) said confused.

“Nothing.” (Chris) I said innocently. I may not like helping every single Harry and dick that I come across, but I can win the bird tournament for them.

“Will you be staying here with us.” (Al’s mother) said.

“Just until the tournament ends, then i’ll leave.” (Chris)

“Wait! You said the tournament, as in the same tournament that everybody else is participating.” (Al’s mother) said in shock.

“Pretty much. That way your food problem will be solved, and I get to train with the ‘Phoenix king.’” (Chris)

“So that’s what you meant? But you should know that this tournament is very dangerous. I even heard that all of the strongest birds are participating this year.” (Al’s mother)

“It’s okay, miss… I am sorry. I don’t think we have introduced each other.” (Chris)

“Just call me, Jewel.” (Jewel)

“And my name is Chris Walker. And don’t worry about me. Jewel. I might be just a kid, but I am pretty strong where I come from.” (Chris)

“...Okay, but just don’t underestimate us birds, because we are pretty strong as well.” (Jewel)

“I know. I can tell that there are several birds out there that are pretty strong.” (Chris)

I am pretty sure some of them know how to manipulate natural energy. It’s best to be careful when I am fighting against those guys.

Then I sensed Al was getting beaten up by those annoying birds that I saw earlier. I better go and check it out.

“Excuse me, but I gotta go now.” (Chris) I then left at a rapid speed, not even waiting for Jewel’s response.

“Be careful!” (Jewel) said out loud.

I ran out of that bird nest at a rapid speed. Al isn't that far away from his house’s location, so it didn’t take long for me to reach his place.

“Hurry up and follow us back out to the forest, Loser. We still have some unfinished business with you!” (Sparrow 1) said.

“I won’t follow you out of the village anymore. You guys are insane! Who in their right mind would eat their own kind.” (Al) said loudly.

“You better follow us, or we will bring your girlfriend out instead.” (Sparrow 2)

Penny was behind Al and coward in fear. She wasn’t strong to defend herself, so she could only rely on Al for the time being.

“You dare!” (Al) said angrily. No one should ever bring up someone else's girlfriend like that.

As I was about to intervene, someone else stepped into the scene.

“What the hell is happening here.” (?)

I saw a huge eagle that was as tall as a house, appeared out of nowhere, and stopped this scene from getting completely out of hand.

“Elgae sir! No-nothing is wrong, right.” (Sparrow 1) said to his freind.

“YES! Nothing going on here.” (Sparrow 2) said very fearfully of Elgae.

“According to my eyes, you tried to bring Al and Penny out of the village, just so you could kill them and eat them.” (Elgae) said.

Eagles have the best vision out of all the birds. He can even see the smallest insects from a huge distance.

“N-no sir! We would never do that.” (Sparrow 1)

“Are you calling me a liar! You have done this before with Al, and it was my fault that I didn’t keep a close eye on the both of you. Remember that I know everything that happens here. And If I should see this kind of thing happen again, you will never see the light of day. Do I make myself clear!” (Elgae)

“Yes sir!” (Sparrow 1 and 2) said out loud. Then flew away as fast as they could.

“Thank you sir Elgar. You saved our lives.” (Al)

“Don’t mention it Al. It was my fault that you were almost eaten by them, you were lucky that a human came to save your live.” (Elgae)

Elgae keeps the peace in this village, he is kinda like a proud bird who seeks justice. And he actually respects Al, because he had heard from his students that he saved Penny’s life. That alone is enough for him to respect Al.

He wasn’t able to save Al on time before, because he can’t keep an eye on everybody all the time. Otherwise no other birds will suffer the same fate as Al almost did.

And he is here for another reason. Chris. There hasn’t been another human here, besides Itachi. So he came here to make sure that I won’t cause problems to the village..

Elgae then turns to look at me. And says.

“Young human! I must thank you for what you did for Al. You have my gratitude.” (Elgae) said to me.

“No problem… wait! If you knew that Al was in trouble back in the forest, then why didn’t you help him?!” (Chris)

“Well because I was busy monitoring other things, that I didn't even notice that Al was in trouble. I can’t possibly keep an eye on everybody at the same time” (Elgae)

What he said is true. Back in his younger days, he could almost monitor everyone at the same time. But his age is taking a toll on his eyes, that he can’t even monitor half of what he used to. Luckily he has a son that will replace his job someday, and will keep the peace in this village.

“I see. Sorry for doubting you, Mr. Elgae.” (Chris) I said in a sincere tone.

“Back to topic. What is a human doing here, surely you're not here to cause trouble in the land of birds.” (Elgae)

“Nope! I came here to participate in this tournament, and win it.” (Chri) I said very confident.

“Let me guess. You're here to learn from the Phoenix king, am I right.” (Elgae)

“Yes! And to win those seeds for Al and his family.” (Chris)

And besides, I wanna test my true powers on some strong foes. There aren't that many people on Konoha that can give me a good fight.

“Very well. But be warned human, you must not underestimate the bird race, we are just as strong as the humans are.” (Elgae)

“I know.” (Chris) I have got to be careful around those birds who. know how to use natural energy, because it means that they are stronger than the average Jonin, even Jiraiya couldn't completely master the toad’s sage art.

“Come with me, the tournament is gonna start very soon, we should get there before it's too late. And besides, Al isn't the best guide material.” (Elgae) said.

Elgae likes to help people/birds in anyway possible. He just likes to help others, even if they're human or not. And besides, it's always good to make friends with others than making an enemy out of them.

“Thank you, sir Elgae.” (Chris) I could tell that he has no ill intentions, and is only helping me based on his believes.

Al, Penny and I followed Elgae to the tournament. Penny is still afraid of me, so she is quite a distance away from me.

Now that I notice, there doesn't seem to be many birds in this village. The only ones that I see right now are me and a few other birds that I don't recognize.

I used my sensing skills, and found out that they are all in the middle of the big ass tree. I bet that it's the place where the tournament is being held.

The birds who stayed behind don’t wanna participate in the tournament, because they are too weak, so it’s better not to risk it and stay behind.

But I truly do wonder what the bird’s natural energy is like. Is it stronger that the toad’s natural energy, or weaker.

ANOTHER PLACE IN TORI NO KUNI

inside the huge bird tree, were 6 giant birds that could be mistaken for giants.

The one who stood up out of all of them, is a bird who is even taller than the other five birds, and has 5 different kind of flames around his body.

The five flames are blue, purple, brown, red, and a very light flame. He also had 5 tails on his back, each with a different flame as well.

This is the strongest bird in this land, the Phoenix king.

The other five birds that were mentioned are his 4 sons and daughter.

Unlike their father, they all had one type of flame.

Marco, has the purple flame, he is a natural lightning user. He is the fastest among all his siblings. As well as the most arrogant one.

Hail, has the blue flame, and she is a natural water user. She is the only daughter of the Phoenix king, and she is probably the most prettiest bird that anyone has ever seen. She is also the only healer in the whole village, she plans on having a school under her, to teach others how to heal.

Valor, has the red flame, he is a natural fire user. He has the strongest offensive flame out of all his siblings, but others know him more for being the black sheep of the family. He doesn't like anybody, nor intends to become friends with others, he doesn't even like his family. He only respects the strongest, like his dad.

Rogue, has the brown flame, he is a natural earth user. But unlike his brothers and sister, he is the only one in the whole town that cannot fly. It’s because he weights so much, that not even his wings can lift him high enough from the ground. But his Defense is unrivalled, but still, he is a laughing stock for not being able to fly like everyone else. But he also has the best defence and offence, it’s like they say, the best defence is the best offence.

Geo, has the light flame, he is a natural air user. He has been regarded a single the weakest out of all his siblings, he isn’t the fastest since Marco is faster than him, he isn’t the strongest since both Rogue and Valor have proven to have the strongest offensive skills. So instead of relying on strength like his siblings, he relies on his smarts to make up for his weak strength.

Although these 5 siblings only have one elemental affinity, they are masters, they can rival anybody back in Konoha. And yes, the Phoenix king is the strongest out of all of them, as he is a master of all the five elements.

(If you guys are wondering how they can use chakra when they don’t have fingers, it will be explained in the near future.)

The Phoenix king is pondering on how to fix the problem with the village’s population and limited food rations. As the leader of the place, he must take care of problems like these. Not even Elgae and his students can find food outsides of the village, as all the small animals and insects are close to extinction.

And there is also the problem with the tournament. They are gonna use this tournament to fix the food problems, they can only think of two ways.

First. Find someone who is willing to train a new special type of natural energy. The natural energy in the land of birds is quite different than what you might think, but it can help with the food rations, and it will help you boost your strength. The Phoenix king and his sons and daughter cannot use this natural energy, as it is very risky to use, as it can lead to death! They are far too important to take such a tisk, so others must be willing to train in this power on their own free will. The phoenixes are using a type of natural energy that can help them increase their strengths, it’s kinda related to the toad’s natural energy, but it can’t help with the problem of the quantity of food they have left.

(I won’t say what the new powers of this natural energy is, but it will be revealed later. This new natural energy is very strong, but it’s hard to control and very risky, even riskier than learning to use the power of the toad’s natural energy.)

The second option is to limit the population, by having everyone fight each other, so that at least half of the population survives later, or maybe less.

The Phoenix king doesn’t want to use the second option, but he will if he must.

“So dad, you think this tournament is gonna be boring like last time.” (Marco) said.

The Phoenix king’s sons and daughter have no idea of the true meaning of the competition, they all thought it’s just to protect the village from intruders, to show their strength and such.

“Hard to say, son.” (Phoenix king) said in a very deep voice.

“I think it’s time for you to announce the start of the tournament.” (Geo) said as well.

“Indeed it is.” (Phoenix king) he isn’t one that likes to talk a lot, so he keeps his answers short and simple.

The Phoenix king walked out of a huge hole from the tree, and looks down to see a huge arena with more than thousands of birds waiting for the competition to start.

The stadium was a simple coliseum that was the size of 3 football fields. There were a bunch of eagles the size of 3 meters surrounding the field, they were in charge of anybody who is causing trouble in here.

I need to mention that I am here among the birds, but I was too small to be noticed, so I didn’t attract that much attention. They were all too hungry and were to excited for the start of the competition, that they haven’t even noticed a small human like me amongst the crowd.

Al and Penny were in the sides, watching me. They were too weak to participate, so they didn’t bother to join. Elgae left long ago to keep the security in check.

“Everyone!!!” (Phoenix king) said very loudly like the sound of thunder striking the colisuem.

Everyone stopped talking and moving, and they looked up to the huge Phoenix king. His aura is so strong, that it’s willing to make them kneel before him.

“The rules are simple. There will be no killing allowed in this round, you lose only if you surrender, or if you get knocked off the stage. This is a Royale round, meaning that everyone is fighting against everyone, and no teams are allowed. And lastly, the last 100 of you to make it, will be going to the next round. I expect all of you to know that rewards for winning this tournament, so I don’t need to explain myself again.” (Phoenix king)

Everyone nodded their heads in response the the Phoenix king.

“Then let the tournament BEGIN!!!” (Phoenix king) said.

Hello everyone. I want to say thank you for your patience, and I am officially back. The problem that I am facing still hasn’t been solved, so updates might be slower than they were, but I will make time for you guys.

And I also want to say that I heard people mentioning me about making a patron for my work. It hasn’t crossed my mind to do something like this, but I definitely will. I only wrote this novel for fun, but it’s getting more attention that I thought it would, we have already reached 500 followers so thank you very much for liking my novel.

I just need someone here to tell me what age do I need to be to make a patron. I heard that you need to be 21 years to make a patron, I also heard you need to be 18 years.

I am not too sure which is is correct, but please Pm me or leave in the comments what are the age requirements to make a patron. I live in Canada, so the laws might be different here than in the United States. OR anywhere else.
