《To Deify a Deity》Chapter 10 - Soul Fragments

It's like I have two mothers now... Lynefra's mom voice has traumatized Michael. He kept looking at Lynefa and Veorful. A fifteen year old mother he added after he had taken a good long look at Lynefra. The longer he looked the more red he turned.
Kuzunoha had the best hearing in the group and naturally heard Michael's mutters. She burst into laughter along with Lynefra who had heard it by virtue of proximity to the speaker. The laughter
Feeling the change in the overall atmosphere of their little gathering, Lystall was curious as to what was said that made Kuzunoha and Lynefra break out into laughter. Veorful, on the other hand, wasn't very amused at all. She saw a look in Michael's eyes that shouldn't have been there. Lust.
Veorful's figure flickered and then appeared separating Michael and Lynefra, Michael snapped out of his trance. Michael, put these on. She handed her son a pair of glasses that made everything blurry (drunk goggles).
Why? Michael asked. He hadn't realized what had just happened, and thanks to the laughter from Kuzu and Lynefra, Lystall had forgotten about the resonance. Veorful turned around to see expressions of confusion worn by the two other women and the one girl in the room.
Veorful smiled ruefully, It appears that her natural good looks paired with Aphrodite's powers have proven a little too much for Michael. She then inspected Lynefra for a moment, Hmm, I would give you different clothes but anything I could come up with to cover your curves would actually make it worse. The more covered up you are the more tempting it would be for men to strip you.
Lynefra turned beat red and hid behind Lystall, as if Michael was some kind of pervert.
Kuzunoha, while amused at Lynefra's different reactions decided to bring the conversation back on topic, Why did you kill him anyways? Her toned contained a certain amount of respect. There were also traces of resentment. He had been good to her and if it wasn't for his permission for her to see Yasuna and Seimei in their various reincarnations, she might have fallen for him.
The room fell quiet as everyone redirected their attention to Veorful...except for Michael who had put on the drunk goggles and was fighting with great effort to remain standing.
Veorful sighed, I didn't mean to kill him. He helped me create a few worlds when I first came to this Universe. I was being hunted as the only survivor from my home Universe. In order to get me to stay he helped me create a few planets and a few intelligent species. He had hoped it would root me, and it did. The problem came later. Veorful paused as she looked sympathetically at Lynefra. The intelligent races rejected me and called for the destruction of any religions designated to me.
Lystall gasped. A truly rotten species, she claimed.
Michael reached out and grabbed Veorful's shoulder to stabilize himself, Yes, father was not pleased. He was looking up in hopes that the blank, white sky wouldn't be blurry.

Veorful patted Lynefra's head and continued. No he wasn't happy, was he? He was so angry with the people of these worlds that he wiped them out. He made some kind of disease to carry out poetic justice for me.
Yes, it was quite good. Michael stated, interrupting Veorful. The disease would make the children go mad and they would visiously attack their parents and then kill themselves. After two weeks the only people left on the planets Mother had created were the old who had no parents at the onset of the disease and who didn't have children of their own.
Mm, then he ripped the core out of the planets and threw everything else into their respective stars. In my anger, I didn't listen to his reasoning why he did it. Thinking back, he wasn't quite justified for the extermination of all life on the planets but even so, I wanted an eye for an eye. Veorful smiled to herself slightly. The woman did like her vengeance. I found his favorite planet, it was a little blue ball in the Sol System on the outer ring of the Milky Way Galaxy. He had taken special interest in it a couple billion years ago when complex creatures evolved. The planet had been a testing ground for various gods, experimenting with life.
Michael nodded his head vigorously, Yes, father had molded a species and directed all the other gods to use his mold. Most of the gods in the universe have a religion dedicated to them in some form on that planet.
No one said anything besides the two speakers, it was like a free history lesson. Veorful started again where Michael left off, The gods called the Planet Gaia. Eventually the people of the planet came up with their own names for it, the majority settled on calling the planet Earth. When I found the planet again, I had tried to destroy it but he stopped me. She looked at Lynefra. He used his own soul to defend the planet but a bare soul to defend against someone whom he had made himself specifically vulnerable to was a death sentence. I couldn't stop my attack and he could only shield one Star system. The price he paid was great... Veorful trailed off, once again her chest tensed in pain and she continued to speak, But I have to live with the consequences of my own actions.
"I see." Lynefra didn't know how to respond. Apparently she must have been pretty power in her past life, but the past is the past. She was Lynefra now and didn't particularly want anything to do with her previous life.
Veorful's face paled as a liquid that looked like the night sky dribbled down the corner of her mouth. 'Was she injured?' everyone thought. It was too blurry for Michael to see but he could feel her aura weakening, Mother, he cried in alarm, What are you doing?

Veorful smiled weakly. I'm leaving this Universe. I think i'll go create my own someplace, Veorful explained to Michael. She pressed two slivers of light directly into Lynefra's forehead. It Lynefra's eyes to flutter as her face briefly controted in pain and her body went limp, falling into Lystall's arms.
You... Lystall started to say but Kuzunoha had at some point approached closer to the group and at that moment she fanned Lystall's face, signalling her to be quiet.
I returned his gift to me as well as undid that troublesome seal. She'll be able to recall some of her past self and the additional fragment of her original soul will help her control her abilities more. Hmm, his worldly desires were all contained within that soul fragment that I have returned to him, be prepared. Veorful Smirked. I also gave her a bit of my own soul. I can't make what I did right, should he ever want to carry out justice, he'll be able to find me. With that, Veorful disappeared.
Mother! Michael cried and disappeared into nothingness - chasing after Veorful.
That was interesting, Loki's voice whispered into Lystall's ears. He had chosen to show up as soon as Veorful had left.
Loki! Lystall jumped in surprise. When did you get here?
Oh, just now. He patted Lynefra's unconscious head. This should be interesting. Just so the both of you know, Veorful was a Goddess who functioned much like Aphrodite in her original Universe.
Ohohoho, Kuzunoha fanned herself in amusement. So now we'll have an even more powerful godling who not only carries extreme favor from Aphrodite but also has additional gifts from an extremely powerful Goddess of love and beauty?
Greeaat, Lystall huffed, picking Lynefra up into something of a princess carry.
Loki's eyes sparkled, thinking of the trouble Lynefra would cause. This should make things more interesting..he said as a special crest floated out from his chest and imprinted itself through Lynefra's clothes and onto her right thigh.
Lystall's face paled, You didn't just...bless her?
Oh, I did just bless her didn't I? Loki acted innocent. Don't forget that she has also obtained a part of her original soul - the peice that represents all of her or his old worldly desires.
As Loki spoke, Lynefra's appearence went through an abrupt change. Her curves had become a little more plentiful while her skin had grown slightly softer. Her hair also slightly changed color. It went from Lystall's shade of silver to silver with some Lavender highlights.
Kuzunoha's eyes twinkled with guilt, something that didn't go unnoticed by Lystall as she looked down. Kuzunoha, you too?
Was it that obvious? Kuzunoha vigorously fanned herself.
The color of her hair...when she opens her eyes they'll probably be a bit more like yours? Lystall questioned, her eyes narrowing.
Kuzunoha didn't reply, she just averted her gaze and kept fanning herself.
=======================================
"Retreat!" Freyd's voice yelled over the chaos. He had been on a scouting mission with his company of 500 or so men when they had come under a sudden ambush. The demons had hid themselves well and even Freyd didn't notice traces of their movements.
In two short minutes, 300 of Freyd's men lay dead and the rest had varying degrees of injury. Freyd charged to the front to meet the enemy while is officers had retreated to the rear in an attempt to clear a path for the survivors. Freyd was the only one who wasn't injured, he had a natural barrier, courtesy of his mother's magical power, that made it impossible for normal attacks to hurt him.
Like a god of death, everything that touched his weapon died on the spot. He was slowly working his way clockwise around the entrapment, and he looked over just in time to see his last remaining officer, a long time family friend, fall with a speare enbedded deep in his chest, protruding out his back. The man had been Lt. Hazem.
As a last resort and an attempt to avenge his fallen soldiers, Freyd used the sinlge most powerful gift of the High Humans - Rage. "AHRA" Freyd bellowed as the atmosphere around him became ionized. Sparks from static electricity formed around Freyd and the atmosphere ignited into flame as he swung his heavy sword down. With a single stroke he demolished the hillside he was on and he started to fall to lower ground.
Deep ruts formed and the earth exploded where Freyd's feet touched the ground and he pushed off launching himself toward's Lt. Hazem's attacker. Sword drawn, Freyd readied to cleave the head off the demon's shoulders when the demon looked up at him and smiled.
The demon avoided Freyd's strike and grabbed his arm. 'Strong!' was Freyd's only thought before he was thrown ruthlessly to the ground with a foot landing soldily on his chest, knocking the wind out of him.
"Your father," The demon snarled in a raspy voice, "killed all of my descendants, and your Emperor gave away what should have been ours to him. I'll have you sent home in pieces." With its hand on Freyd's arm and its foot on his chest the demon pulled up. Tearing and cracking rang out through the small field of battle. Frey's face contorted as his healthy looking color was replaced with a pale white and then the pulling sensation stopped.
The demon lifted Freyd's dismembered arm and howled in a cry of war. "Allenraul," Freyd barely managed to whisper before the demon had a hold of his remaining arm. Freyd felt his arm lifted up and the tearing pain started anew.

Journey Towards Dao
What is infinite, possessing no beginning nor end? What is imperceptible, appearing both indistinct yet intelligible? What is indecipherable, unable to be interpreted or understood? What is quintessential, unfathomable, eternal? What is Dao? The main focus of this story is detailed cultivation, professions, and combat systems. It's a slice-of-life with a cultivation system that delves into psychological aspects (including minor psychopathic/sociopathic elements). Protagonist is the low-key sort. Be prepared for a slower start. This is my first ever experience writing fiction. I'm trying my best to put out quality content initially, but my main goal is to improve. Comments, ratings, and reviews are greatly appreciated!

The Primordial
With one goal fueling him, he broke through the final barrier, reaching the apex of power and regaining that which was once lost. Trying to find a new beginning, he reforged himself anew as he awoke to memories of a long forgotten past. Memories that intersected with his new reality. His invincible soul now unchained, surprises await him as he begins his new jouney in an unknown land. I'm just writing this for fun, but i'll never drop it. This won't be something short, as I have the very long term in mind, but I'm a total noob to writing, so I most likely won't release chapters very often, at least until I really get the hang of it. But, the chapters will always be several thousand words long. At the minimum 2k, maximum like 6k... Pretty big variations, sorry. If you like it, great. If you don't, that's understandable. Regardless, if you have a read, I'd appreciate feedback for areas you think I should improve on, whether it's the use of some words or how I should write something or WHATEVER. I'm open to anything, good or bad, because with your help, it'll help make this story better. **DISCLAIMER** So you don't waste your time, I want to let you know what you're getting into, because I like knowing ahead of time before I read something. This might appear like a Xianxia novel, but it's not. It only starts that way. This is a western fantasy world and setting that many of you are familiar with. The beginning chapters might be a bit of an info dump. Some of it might seems superfluous, but a lot of information is relevant to the story. The first few chapters might also seem rushed, but I'll try to keep it exclusive to those. This is a cliche, OP MC story with the typical harem, but other than the quick start, everything else will be gradual. There will be romance, and probably many moments at that, but don't expect anything TOO detailed. If you want something really steamy, look elsewhere. References and throwbacks to stuff most likely. The setting won't be really dark or really light. Middleground, I guess. The MC is far from a young kid, but he won't totally reflect his age. I don't plan on discarding info, abilities or characters that you KNOW should come back and be around. I see it a lot and it sort of bugs me haha... but I could have oversights, I dunno. As I said, I'm a noob. That's it, really. If you're interested, welcome to my world!
