Chapter 1: The Farmer and a Hungry Beast

“Haaaaaa*Inhales*”Fuuuuuuuu*Exhales*”

I never would have thought that air in Vermillion Continent could be this good. I actually didn’t even notice such things before since just living in this place was a daily struggle for survival. Now though, the difference is truly unmistakable. The dry and hot air is now replaced by a fresh and cool breeze and you can see life flourishing around.

I am currently enjoying the fresh air and the spectacular scenery on the second floor balcony of my new and improved house! The time is 6:12am R.R time. If things were the same as before then I will probably be outside already plowing the fields. I would have loved nothing more than to do that but unfortunately that isn’t possible right now.

It’s also been a month now since I found the rabbit with a gem on its forehead. I did everything that I could for 3 days but sadly the rabbit is gone now. Ah, I don’t mean that it died or anything, in fact the little rabbit made a full recovery in just 3 days! It’s just that the rabbit disappears and we couldn’t find “her” no matter how hard we try. And yes, the rabbit is a female. She will appear if its meal time so I decided to stop worrying every time she’s gone.

Hmmmm….I guess it’s just about time for the fairy-bug Midz to wake up so I should head down and prepare our breakfast. He gets very annoying if he’s hungry and would complain about everything non-stop until the food is ready. Normally I would have squashed him once he gets like that but now that my stress and irritation levels are at an all time low, I can now somehow tolerate his childlike behaviour. There are several things about that bug that I just couldn’t understand. How he could eat a steak twice his size, a large bowl of beans soup and 2 apples in one sitting is probably one of the strangest mysteries in this world.

Playing for nearly 3 months now a lot of my skills have increased to Intermediate and even the Cooking skill is now at intermediate level 2. My speed in preparing and cooking the ingredients has greatly increased both here in R.R and in RL (Real Life). Since there won’t be any hard labor today, I guess I’ll just make simple Golden Rice porridge and fry small pieces of meat along with Hariya beans.

After eating my portion of the food, I went and checked a large boiling pot. This became one of my daily routines for about 2 months now. Inside is a special soup made from bones of different kinds of beast along with different seasonings that exhibits a very pleasant smell. I smile a bit after smelling the nice aroma of the soup and seeing that the soup is cooking just fine, I finally head out.

I first head to my old cabin at the left side of my house. This place wasn’t torn down since Ollie happened to like this place; as such it became his personal room. After Ollie has eaten, I got on his back and started our morning stroll to check my beautiful farmland. Our pace was basically just a light jog so going around the entire place would take a couple of hours and this was just fine. There were already dozens of Beast People working on each field watering the area and checking for pests. They greeted me when I pass by and I returned their greeting with a wave of my hand.

At this point I have 1852 Beast People working as farmhands on a 1.67 acre land. The number of farmhands might seem excessive but this actually wasn’t enough. 524 Beast People serve as guards day and night while the others help work the field. Just harvesting requires the help of nearly all the 1852 farmhands. Needless to say, this was because of the OP skills Divine Time and Nature’s Blessing. Other than the Golden Rice, the Hariya beans and the fruit trees will continue to produce pods and fruits for 3 weeks straight! It only takes 1 week for the produce to fully mature and ripen so they needed to be quickly harvested so that new fruits will quickly form. The amount we could obtain in 1 harvest is just too outrageous that when we finally finish, we can’t even store them all on the 5 large storehouses that I had asked to be built.

I actually wanted to plant strawberries, grapes, cabbages, eggplants and a lot more, unfortunately there’s a problem that we can’t find a solution for at this time. The problem isn’t even lack of land or problem with the land’s fertility anymore. The problem is even more basic than that. It’s the range of the Guardian Crystal that’s stopping me from even using 10% of my land. The Guardian Crystal has a perimeter range of 780 feet in a circular area. That covers about a little over an acre of land. This range is actually double of what it was before since we managed to obtain several crystals from the surrounding smaller villages that moved to Darsheen village. If we can’t obtain more Guardian Crystals then I can’t cultivate any more land because of the huge risks that it’ll present

The main threats are the monsters that are appearing on a regular basis because of the large amount of food available here. The fights are almost daily and a large scale battle happened just 3 months ago. A “RockBrand” field boss was spotted heading for us along with hundreds of other smaller RockBrands. RockBrands are one of the most common types of monster in Vermillion and there are dozens of different types depending on where they can be found. According to Lep-ahn the field boss that appeared was the size of a large hill that’s a staggering level 700 V4 Boss. Since the number of smaller RockBrands reached over 600, we decided to call Rak-ahn for help. Rak-ahn has gotten quite thin and was pretty angry when he saw me. He actually even attacked me.

Unfortunately for him, Lep-ahn easily subdued him when he attack which was no surprise since he looked really weak now as compared to before. Since he couldn’t escape from Lep-ahn’s grasp, he then told us what happened to him right after he dropped me off near the village. Wanting to get a sip of water, he faced many life and death battles for several days and after reaching the watering hole, he saw other beasts in the same miserable state that he’s in. Hearing his story that was full of suffering actually brought tears to my eyes. After recounting his tale, he then demanded another outrageous amount of food as payment but Sorud wouldn’t hear any of that and quickly shut him down with “If you do not want what we will pay you, then leave”. Seeing the uncaring Sorud, Rak-ahn couldn’t do anything but accept Sorud’s offer.

With all said and done, Rak-ahn is still a truly fearsome warrior. He gathered 70 Rak warriors for the fight which was added to the 400 warriors we had at the time. They were made up of different Beast People such as the Elipans, Barvoons, Gorzillas and the mighty Leoparns. I was also added in the group but since the weakest RockBrand was a V3 level 280 monster, I decided to safely wait at the back and “leech” the exp’s instead. This was the first time that I’ll personally see a large scale battle so I was pretty excited. Lep-ahn was the supreme commander of the group and decided to face them on an open area before they could get near the village. No-one doubted Lep-ahn’s decisions so if he thinks it’s best to fight them there then that’s what they’ll do. The fight that ensued was probably the most spectacular battle that I’ve seen yet.

The ones that made the opening blow were Rak-ahn and his clan. They first gained altitude and once they’ve decided it was high enough, every single one of them suddenly dived down at a frightening speed! They dived down straight to the RockBrand monsters without stopping or slowing down. Their method of attack looked pretty insane to me since once they hit their targeted monsters, small explosions could be seen. They did this several times but oddly enough they only lost 5-10% Hp while the RockBrands that they hit lost nearly 70%. I only manage to understand the skill when Rak-ahn was the one that did it. After Rak-ahn attacked, the skill info was finally shown to me. The skill was “Windfall Dive” a move that covers their bodies with wind that protects them from most of the impact while dispersing around the area creating a small explosion when they hit something. Rak-ahn kills off any monster he targets in 1 hit while only losing 2-3% hp making him a fearsome bird.

The Elipans, Barvoons and Gorzillas were also formidable warriors. The Elipans holding large warhammers were crushing RockBrands left and right. The Gorzillas were equipped with spiked knuckles punching and sometimes throwing the RockBrands all over the place. The Barvoons on the other hand uses complex group tactics since they’re numbers were the highest. About 3 or 4 Barvoons would attack a RockBrand on every direction killing them with ease.

Everyone with the exception of me impressively fought the RockBrands but they still couldn’t compare to the Leoparn warriors. There were only 36 of them including Lep-ahn but they killed more than 300 RockBrands! The Leoparns main weapon was a spear which they use to easily slaughter the RockBrands. The 3 Leoparn brothers Harun, Haran and Harin were also present in the fight. Even among the skilled Leoparns, the 3 brothers were probably the ones that stood out the most. Haran’s strength which was comparable to the Elipans and the Gorzillas was used to completely dominate the RockBrands he faced. Harun on the other hand dodges and counters the attacks; his skill makes him look like he’s dancing while elegantly sidestepping the attacks. Harin’s style was also brilliant, he would use his incredible speed to launch dozens of attacks which would quickly kill his opponents. Harin was the one that killing the most during the battle and would often taunt his brothers. The other 2 wouldn’t take the taunts lying down so a competition between the 3 of them on who would kill the most naturally happened.

They were all incredible but the one I wanted to watch the most was definitely Lep-ahn. I tried to scan the battlefield to find him but unfortunately, I couldn’t see where he was. I would notice 3 or 4 Rockbrands would just suddenly turn grey and burst into light even though no one were fighting them so I decided to focus my attention there. Even with all the concentration that I could muster, I still couldn’t locate where Lep-ahn was and only when all the small RockBands were killed did I manage to find him. At this point though, the Field Boss was already here as well. Its movement was really slow probably because of how big and heavy that thing was. We didn’t lose a single warrior fighting the smaller RockBrands but there are several that were seriously injured and had to retire from the battle.

Now then, I’ll try to give a definite description of what RockBrands look like. Most of them look like the stones on the ground with different shapes, pretty simple right? They have 2 or 3 arms also made of stone that they use to grab their prey. They look like rocks mainly because they pretend to be rocks to avoid other strong monsters. Field Bosses roam around the Vermillion continent no thanks to the Calamity Ants so they could search for food. The ants destroyed the environment of the continent as such most monsters don’t have any designated locations anymore.

When the Field Boss RockBrand appeared, the remaining warriors immediately got into formation on Lep-ahns orders and started to attack. The Field Boss’s HP and DEF were extremely high so even with the combined attacks only little damage could be done. Its arms were also very long and were being used as whips against the warriors. The warriors unlucky enough to not dodge in time would take critical damage and would be forced to retreat. The fight was very harsh with the Boss continuing to advance while swinging its arms on the ground and towards the sky. After 30 minutes, 34 Barvoons, 2 Elipans and 2 Gorzillas were killed.

After 1 hour only 15 Leoparns, 12 Gorzillas, 8 Elipans and 24 Raks were the only ones left fighting. None died anymore since Lep-ahn told them to withdraw once he saw that they’re lives were in danger. The Boss’s Hp was still at 60% so things weren’t looking so good for us. Things turned for the worst when Rak-ahn got impatient and thought to attack on a blind spot right behind the Boss’s head. That unfortunately wasn’t a blind spot at all but a trap. Rak-ahn gathered a large amount of wind to completely cover his body and dived with all his might. What met him was the third hand that the Boss hasn’t showed yet during the fight. An earth shattering impact occurred when Rak-ahn collided with the hand which threw him back dozens of feet with enough force to make a crater when he hit the ground. I even thought that Rak-ahn got killed by that blow but fortunately the mighty bird somehow managed to fly again after a few seconds.

Rak-ahn only has 12% Hp when I saw him again but what really got my attention was how angry he was. The impact managed to destroy the third arm of the Boss and dropped its Hp by 7% but Rak-ahn wasn’t satisfied with that. This was the first time that I found out that certain Beast People have special skills as well. It was when Rak-ahn gathered an even larger amount of wind around his body but rather than charging at the Boss, Rak-ahn moulded the winds into 3 blades and when he released it, a notice window suddenly appeared. The special skill was *WindFury Cutter* which activates when Rak-ahn’s fury is at its highest and his Hp drops to less than 20%. I was afraid that the vast range of the skill would hit the others but it seemed that Lep-ahn already knew about the skill and has ordered everyone to move away from the boss. The skill took 20% of the Boss’s life which means that this was one of the most devastating skills around.

I was thinking that this boss was just too tough and that it would take a bit more time to kill. This thought vanished when Lep-ahn activated his own special skill. Lep-ahn’s claws suddenly grew and blue light started to appear at its ends. Lep-ahn then ran towards the boss and then jumped high; the boss reacted to this by swinging both its arms towards Lep-ahn. Just before the Boss’s arms hit him, he slashed his claws towards them and another window appeared in front of me. *Spacial Rend* was the name of the skill, oddly enough I couldn’t find out what the trigger was since no other info was shown other than the name. This skill was even more fearsome because it took 30% Hp from the boss while utterly destroying both its arms. With just 3% Hp left Lep-ahn was about to finish it off but I stopped him since there was something I wished to try.

It was of course to use Heart’s Understanding and try to get the Field Boss on my side. I wouldn’t dare try this unless the Boss was practically dead since that would be too dangerous. Sadly even though I tried to do this like those “Pokemon” games, it still didn’t work. It was either because the Boss was too strong or my skill level being Basic lvl: 3 too low. No matter which it is, since I failed, killing the boss was the only thing we could do. During this fight, I managed to leech 7 levels which was very nice since I didn’t even need to fight. Farmers just need to supply the warriors with food so letting things stay that way would be best.

I could still feel my spine tingle whenever I recall that awesome fight. 38 warriors died but according to Lep-ahn, that was the best result we could have hoped for. Normally, it wouldn’t be odd if over half the warriors died against such a powerful monster so they naturally avoid fighting them. RockBrands couldn’t even be harvested for food and the boss mostly dropped large quantities of Ore which we sent to Tusk so that he could make more weapons.

After the fight, I also found out why I couldn’t find Lep-ahn anywhere. And no, he didn’t leave the battlefield and he really was the one killing RockBrands that died even though no-one were fighting them. Lep-ahn explained that it was because of his unique trait *The Great Stalker* that gives him near complete invisibility. He also said that he has two other traits called *The Supreme Predator* and *Cannibalism*. He said that The Supreme Predator is active once the designated target is considered “Prey”. Once they’re considered “prey” then all of Lep-ahn’s attacks becomes critical hits. The other Leoparn warriors also posses “Stalker” and “Predator” traits but only Lep-ahn has “Great” and “Supreme” traits. When I asked what the last one does, he said that it’s best if I don’t know about it so I didn’t inquire about it anymore. Though just by the name, it somehow gives me a rough idea of what the trait is.

Rak-ahn also possesses unique traits. The prideful bird refused to tell what they were at first but after I said that they’re probably lousy ones, his pride got the better of him so he explained them like the gullible bird that he is. According to him, he also possesses 3 unique traits. They were *Air Supremacy*, *Unflinching Spirit* and *Wind Calling*. Air Supremacy allows him to overpower any opponent in the air. Unflinching Spirit gives incredible bravery and resilience and Wind Calling allows him to mould air itself. I found out later though that other than Wind Calling, the other 2 traits were something all the Raks possess.

“Haaaaaa…….I’d like to watch such fights again but it’s worrying if even stronger Boss monsters start appearing” I’m also very curious about the special skill Lep-ahn used but he avoided mentioning anything about it

According to the Elder, the truly strong monsters on Vermillion have somehow developed skills to either detect ants or hide from them. They were those that managed to survive the purge of the Vermillion Ants and are now living in the most remote places of the continent. The worst part is that if the Boss monster that appears is too strong then even the Guardian Crystals wouldn’t be able to repel them since they only have absolute effects on ants.

“Hmmm? Not again……..seriously……..the heck is that guy doing?” I was now nearing the Hariya beans plantation and I can see a person lying face down on the ground. I often see unknown Beast People near the fields so I’m not entirely surprised anymore

“Jeez….Ollie, stay here for a bit. That guy looks like he’s wearing pretty high level armor. I don’t get why he’s kissing the ground but with his right hand outstretched towards the beans like that, it could only mean he’s a thief” This was the natural conclusion considering how it looks he’s trying to grab the beans

*Bruruhuhuhu*

“Yeah, I’ll be careful. If he attacks, go and run straight for Lep-ahn alright?” this was again another natural conclusion considering how impressive the armor he’s wearing is, me beating him is very unlikely

*Bruruhihihih*

Patting Ollie’s head to reassure him, I slowly head for the decidedly weird guy. The only thing I could tell is that this person has long black hair tied in a ponytail. I assume that this person is a “He” because the armor looks like a Full Plate knight’s gear. A very impressive one at that, I decided to stop just a few feet away from the guy, take out En-Il’s Hoe and started poking his head

“Hey….are you awake? If you’re offline I’ll start bashing your head since this is private property y’know” well of course I wouldn’t bash the guy’s head, but I figured I’ll have a better response if I say this

“OoooiiiI! Wake up……” I’ve been poking his head for a minute now but he isn’t responding at all. I was just about to leave to call someone when I faintly heard something

“………….ry”

“Huh? Hey can you speak a little bit louder? Actually can you stand so I can get a better look at you?” it seems he isn’t offline after all

“………….elp……….hungry” this time I heard this in a slightly louder voice.

“Hmmmmm…..elp probably means help and your hungry?”

“uuuuu…..hungry”

“Haaaaaaa……I see, no wonder you’re trying to grab these beans. Sad to say, these aren’t ready yet. Even though they look like this, there aren’t any beans in those pods yet. And the pods themselves are extremely bitter at this stage”

“……………hungry”

“Haaaaaa…..yes, yes……come on, I have some food in the house. Here I’ll help you up…….UGH?!” I just tried to help the guy stand up but I got shocked at how heavy he is

“What the!….Do you weigh a ton or something?!” My STR stat allows me to carry up to 250kg but this guy’s arm already probably weighs that much

“Uuuuuu…….” I then see the guy wave his hand and all of a sudden, his Full Plate armor quickly disappears.

Now that the gear was gone, I was sure now that this guy is really a high level player and that this guy isn’t a guy at all. These things were fairly easy to guess because once the armor was gone; I could see that she’s wearing a Black Tight Fitting Bodysuit. Bodysuits have a minimum level requirement of 500 and needs to be custom made. The cheapest ones costs somewhere within 5million Arpen gold, while the most expensive ones can reach up to 50million made by Master Tailors. Now, how did I know this person was a girl? Simple, her waistline and butt can easily be compared to those of top models. If this was a guy then I’ll definitely bash his head.

“Hey, can you stand?” just to make sure I helped her stand up so I could get a look at “her” face

“uuuuu…..hungry…..” “She” finally managed to raise her head with my help and I thanked the heavens that “she” really is a she but then, I was completely shocked with what I saw

The moment that I saw her face, I was stunned by how pretty she is. Her avatar was just too beautiful. Her skin was unnaturally white but that only accentuated her full red lips, and beautiful ruby colored eyes with long eyelashes that were slightly closed. Her rich dark hair tied in a ponytail truly suited her beautiful face. And now that her upper body was raised, I could perfectly see how sexy her body was. Her breasts were a bit bigger than the average girls. They seem like they’ll overflow from your hands but not enough that it’ll stop you from enjoying the full shape of her breasts. Judging from such a strong effect that she gives off, her Charm stat must be super high for it to affect me like this

“……hungry……” I would have stared at her more if only she didn’t look like she was about to die from hunger

“I-I see…..I did say that I have some food so do you wanna come to my house and eat?” for some reason I felt like I sounded like those old perverts that lure young girls into their house to “play” with them

*Nods*

“Um…can you walk? If not I could give you a piggyback ride” I turned my back just as I say this but I expect that she’ll try to walk by herself since being given a piggyback ride would be quite embarrassing

“HUH?!” Suddenly I could feel her arms wrap around my neck and her body leaning on me. I instinctively lowered both my arms and grabbed her thighs.

I was actually grabbing her ass but thighs sounded better for my mental health. Without waiting another second, I stood up while firmly holding on…….her thighs. I could somehow calculate that she weighs about 65kg but that wasn’t important. What are important were the two soft bulges that I could feel on my back, the firm “thighs”, the pleasant body heat and the girl’s breath on my right cheek. I could have let her ride Ollie but since my house isn’t too far away, I decided that giving her a piggyback ride would be best (for me). I seriously didn’t have any malicious thoughts like wanting to feel her up or anything like that. I also didn’t think that her short breaths sounded like she was panting after some “rigorous” exercise. Yep, no lewd things like that whatsoever.

Thankfully, before such thoughts could enter my mind, I managed to reach my house, opened the door without using my hands, headed for the kitchen since my dining table was there and have her sit on a chair. I didn’t regret the fact that her nice warm body was no longer on my back nor did I even hesitate for even a second on having her sit on the chair. I truly, definitely am not shedding tears of regret. Yep, definitely not……..

“*sniff* there’s food on the table *sniff* you can eat them if you want *sniff* I’ll prepare more food in just a moment *sniff*”

There was enough food there for 1 person and would definitely fill about 30% satiety but since she seemed really hungry, I decided to make more food. And again, I definitely did not cry at all. I was taking out the ingredients when I happened to glance on the table and saw that all the food was already gone. I was pretty sure I only looked away for maybe 10 seconds but all the food was now gone. She’s still collapsed on the table so I’m not sure who ate the food. Anyways, looking at her face was too distracting so I forced myself to focus on cooking. If she did eat the food on the table and she’s still in that state, it means that her satiety must be severely low. With this in mind, I decided to cook up to 10 people’s worth of food! With that much, I’m sure she won’t be able to finish all of it.

“……..Do you have any more food?” The girl says this in a very seductive voice which would have seduced me if only I wasn’t so shocked by the fact that she’s still hungry

“……..You just ate food for 10 people……all the ingredients that I used were very nutritious so you actually ate food that could fill the satiety of 15 people…..and you’re still hungry?” It’s known that you can continue eating even if the satiety is full but there would be harsh side effects if one does this regularly. The thing that I could really not understand is that she really looks like she’s still hungry.

“……….I would appreciate it if I could eat some more but if there’s nothing left then I would like to thank you for saving my life” She says this while fidgeting a bit and looking at me with upturned eyes.

“Heh…eheheheheh…….no more food? There’s no such thing as “No More Food” here in Darsheen village. This place would soon be known as the FOOD CENTRAL OF THE WORLD! I was just a bit surprised by your…….HUGE appetite. Please wait a bit more and I’ll cook more for you”

Hehehehehhe, this was a challenge! A very beautiful, sexy girl is asking you to feed her so no man in their right mind would refuse! If 10 or 15 aren’t enough then I’ll cook enough food for 50 people! Hehehehh I’ll show her the power of the GRILLING MASTER BOY!

“Yum! I’m about 80% full now. You’re such a great cook! They could easily compare to those 5star restaurants in the Arpen Empire!” the girl is now……80%.......full and has regained much of her cheerfulness

“Hehehehehheheheheheheh………..what a challenge………you say you’re only 80% full? Hehehehehhehe please wait a bit and I’ll assure you……you won’t leave this place until your 100% full!” I don’t even know what’s what anymore….the girl just ate food that could make 80 people’s stomach full to bursting and she says she’s just 80% full…..

Hehehehhehehehheh….if things have turned out like this and then there’s no need to hold back anymore. I’ll give her the ultimate food that’s in my house! The super rich soup that’s been boiling for 2 months now……preparation for that is actually pretty simple. I’ll just need to lightly boil Hariya beans for about 3 minutes and then put them in a bowl, pour the super rich soup on them and they’re ready to be served. One bowl of this could fill anyone’s satiety to 100% hehehheheh this will be my FINAL TURN!

“Whew…..to think I’ll be 100% full….How many months was it that I felt truly satisfied? Thank you kind sir for all your trouble, the soup at the end was magnificent!”

“Hehehehehheheheh…..of course it is…….I spent 2 months working on that broth doing a lot of experiments.....no……first things first. Who are you? And why are you starving to death near the Hariya beans?” I got too absorbed with filling her stomach that I forgot to even ask her name

“Ah! Yes…I’m Rhiasviel. I um, apologize that you had to see me in such an embarrassing state. I’m actually here to find the owner of this farmland” she says this while lightly blushing

Find the owner? And does she mean that it’s embarrassing to be seen nearly dead from starvation? If I were her, I would be more embarrassed being seen wearing only that tight fitting bodysuit. Maybe she doesn’t realize yet that she took off her armor but that can’t be possible right?

“………..Rhiasviel……why are you looking for the owner?” well first things first. Why does she want to meet me exactly?

“……You see, I’m here because I’ve heard that this place is hiring strong warriors and that there’s an abundant supply of food here. So, if you could tell me where the owner is, I would greatly appreciate it”

Work and Food, with the way she eats I’m sure only this place could possibly feed her. Just her looks alone is enough for me to give her a pass. With a body like hers, then I’ll give her an A+!

“………..Don’t you know who the owner is?” since I’ve been silent for a while, I guess she mistook it to mean that I probably have no idea who the owner of this place is

“Oh, sorry about that, no need to worry. You’re looking at the owner of this magnificent place! The name is Riyen and everything you could see from this house to the vast fields are mine” I say this to her while giving a gentleman’s bow

“Eh? Is that true! Please hire me!”

“Ah…please calm down a bit, if it were up to me, then I’ll gladly hire you, you seem……strong after all. Unfortunately, if the job you want is a guard then there’s a test you have to pass first” considering how heavy her armor was, I’m sure she’s super strong

“A test? There’s no problem. I’ll be sure to pass any test so please let’s start this already!”

“Haaaa….I did say to calm down a bit…anyways, you don’t plan to go outside wearing only that are you?”

“Huh? What do you mean?” Rhiasviel finally checked her body or more accurately her chest area and then blushed to her ears. With a very fast hand movement, she then re-equips her Full Plate armor and then………..

The wooden chair she’s sitting on broke into pieces and she fell butt first on the brick floor made of clay. She of course crushed my precious brick floor which made her redder than a very ripe tomato.

“………I’m sorry” this was probably her 30th apology and her voice gets tinier and tinier each time

“Haaaaaa….I’ve said it over and over. Forget about it. That happens to everybody” Right, everybody…..anyway, we are now outside the house and now heading to the living quarters of the Leoparn warriors.

Since a large part of the land isn’t covered by the Guardian Crystal’s protection, Lep-ahn decided to construct several tents near the borders of the farmland. This was so that they could quickly respond to monster attacks. Since this was pretty dangerous, I had their living quarters be made of solid stone and hard clay rather than tents. Lep-ahn then made a simple fence around the area and attached strings with bells on them. This was some sort of warning trap especially helpful during the night watch. Rhiasviel has also finally stopped apologizing and is now staring at the crops in the field. Mainly looking at the fruit trees admiring them, No, that isn’t a look of admiration, it actually looks like she wanted to eat the fruits probably even the trees! Before she could get any ideas, I hastily tell her that they’re not ripe yet so she couldn’t eat them yet. This made her blush again and started apologizing once more until we reached the quarters.

“Riyen? What are doing here? If you needed something, you should have just sent someone over” Just outside was a Beast person doing push-ups……with just his nails…….

“Haaaaaa……Haran, what am I? a baby? Lep-ahn already kept telling me not to go out of the crystals range. You guys do remember that I worked this land even though I was outside its range” these guys kept treating me like a kid even though they were impressed with how I dealt with the goblins before

”Wrahahahahah, We remember. We also remember how many times you nearly died. Wrahahahahh” Well, this was true as well. I got chased by lots of HraeDogs and VileScorpions and had to be saved by them.

“……….Let’s not talk about this anymore. Where’s Lep-ahn by the way?”

“Lep-ahn? He is out patrolling the area. He should be returning soon though. Is it urgent? I could run out and get him if you want”

“It’s not urgent Haran. There’s just someone looking for a job. Lep-ahn said that he wanted to test everyone that wants to be a guard so I brought her here” I then point to the silent girl a few feet behind me

“Hoh~ a test huh, there is no need to wait for Lep-ahn. I will be the one to test her Riyen. If she passes my standards then she will pass Lep-ahns”

“Really now…..well Rhiasviel, You heard him. What do you say?” well this is interesting. Haran is pretty strong so this should be a good match

“………..So long as I get a job, I don’t mind fighting anyone”

“Wrahahhaha, well said hyumen! Let us go a few rounds and test each other’s strength! I will warn you though; I will not go easy just because you are a female!”

“That suits me just fine Leoparn”

“Hmmm…this should be good. I’ll be the judge if the winner isn’t clear enough for both of you. You’re both not allowed to kill each other so fatal strikes can’t be used. The fight will only consist of your basic martial prowess. If you kill your opponents…..well…..Lep-ahn will KILL YOU so you have been warned” This warning was more for Haran so that he doesn’t get too excited.

“Get ready! On my count the spar will start! On 3, 2, 1 Go!” Just before I started counting, I made sure to move a little further back so that I could enjoy the fight

10 minutes since the start of the fight and only silence remains. I don’t even think it could be described as a fight. It was too one sided. One of them just got tossed around like a stuff toy. This was truly an unexpected result and there’s only one thing I could say……..

“…………..Haran, you suck” Yep, the mighty warrior Haran couldn’t even make Rhiasviel break a sweat.

“Wraaaaaaa! Another! This time for sure I’ll win!” it seems like Haran’s pride has been deeply wounded. Unfortunately for him there won’t be a next time since this was the third round already

“Haaaaa….Haran……take your defeat like a true Leoparn. Rhiasviel won hands down”

“Does this mean I’m hired now?” Rhaisviel asks me this with hopeful eyes

“Well with a result like that, it shou---“

“Oh, what is this? Is there something fun going on? Let me join!” Just before I could finish, I was interrupted by a lively voice

Looking at the ones that arrived, it was pretty clear who they were. Harun, Harin and Lep-ahn have just returned. I don’t know where these two came from since Lep-ahn normally patrols by himself. Well, never mind them. The guy I was looking for has finally arrived and I couldn’t help but smile since….

“Heheheh, actually Rhiasviel, the test is just about to begin” I could see that Rhiasviel is quite disappointed but this can’t be helped. I really want to see the fight between the two of them since this would definitely be a great fight!
