The sun was high in the sky, where its position indicates that it was already there for a few hours. Its yellow light was coloring the things below that might not be seen at night.

In the midst of that, there was a two-horse luxurious carriage with a Lord insignia being newly painted at the door of it. It was as if replacing the old paint that had been there before.

Inside of the carriage could be seen as a quite handsome black-haired boy and a beautiful white-haired pure girl were sitting side by side in the carriage.

Suddenly the black-haired boy seems to be annoyed by something and said,

“Despite being an expensive carriage that the Count previously used, it’s been bumpy as hell!” The carriage at the medieval age didn't know what is spring, yet.

‘Although there was rumored that there is something such as magic carriage or some sort that was very swift and comfortable to use being widely spread in the capital, it was said to be very... very expensive.' I thought as the smell of business that could be made from the custom carriage filled my nostrils.

“Also... Lily, why are you sitting beside me? There is more space across." I gaze my eyes to Lily that sit like basically beside me and smell sweet for some reason.

“Don’t wanna! I had promised to always be with you forever, aren't I!?" Lily sees me with her eyes in a strange way.

“R..right!” Then, I cast my head to the window at the side and turned a blind eye to the last part of her sentence.

The carriage was traveling from the mansion to the town of Moonmoor, 20 or so guards were escorting the carriage while holding their spear and sword in their scabbard.

In the midst of the guard, a muscled middle-aged man with a stylish gray hair riding a gray horse come forward to the luxurious carriage and report,

“Young Master, we will reach the town in a few minutes.” The man rides his horse skillfully while gazing at the town ahead.

I nod my head then replied, “Be sure to pacify the crowd and watch out for anyone suspicious, as I incidentally just got a report that the town was overcrowded!”

“Yes, leave it to me! When I’m around, not even a speck of dust can touch you!” Sir Gareth hit his left chest lightly with his other clench hand in a confident style.

Gareth had just finished his instructing and training of the new recruit from Sanchez County, as the soldier were quite professional, to begin with, they didn't need further training and just need some loyalties to me.

“Good, I will be relying on you!” Of course, I didn’t only rely on the personal guards and the town's guard at the site. A lot of bugs and the small animal robot will be spying the place while the other robots will be hiding somewhere in town, ready to take action.

Although this was only an official inspection or tour and wasn’t some kind of festival or some sort, it's better to be cautious than sorry.

As the carriage was about to reach the entrance of the wall, the people were lining up more than it normally was. People were swarming in there as if waiting for something to come.

Just then, they see the luxurious carriage that was approaching the place from the east. The insignia at the side of the carriage was a sore eye to the people at the entrance.

Suddenly one of the pedestrians at the entrance shout while pointing to the carriage,

“Hey.. that’s the Lord insignia, the Lord’s here!”

When one people caused a ripple of the shout, it spread to the others just like a snowball effect. Others were talking quite noisily about the Lord.

It was like that until the guards at the side reprimand the peoples,

“Shut up! The Lord’s about to reach this place! Anyone that causes a ruckus will be sentenced to the mine!" One of the guards at the side uses some kind of whip to discipline the peasant to shut themselves up.

Seeing what was happening from the carriage, I was a bit surprised by the crude way people were using in this world.

As my carriage reaches the entrance, people start saluting and kneeling on one knee while being silent as if being scared of something.

‘So, people do this kind of thing in this world!? Interesting.” I was inspecting the people from the carriage and realize that the majority of the people that kneel were peasants and anyone that didn't follow suit was whipped by the guards.

‘Hierarchy was obvious and not obscured, I’m glad that I transmigrate as a noble and not as a peasant. If I were to take over as a slave, although I'm still confident to ascend the world, it will take a very long time.' I thought relieved while rubbing my chin and thankful for having a good start.

Then, the carriage passes through the entrance of the town and got to the town. Inside I see a line of people at the side also kneeling and giving a salute to the carriage.

Strangely enough, after they finished kneeling and saluting, a lot of middle-aged men were holding the back of a younger girl that seems to be their daughter as if trying to promote some kind of goods.

“The heck? Is this some kind of female fashion show or something?” Seeing that I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Incidentally, Lily that was on my side that was seeing me looking at the girl outside hit me from the side.

“Ouch! What was that for?” I asked with a glare at Lily.

“Nothing.” Lily turned her head away with a puff on her cheeks.

As time was still early, I decided to check the place that had been bothering me all this time when I survey the town before.

First, it was the public toilet, As the Lord, it would be inappropriate for me to check that place directly but seeing it from afar and asking information to the people there is easy.

In this world, people usually relieved themselves at home with a wooden bucket and throw the waste to the river but there is also a public toilet that used in the public.

A few minutes passed as the carriage was traveling to the place and the crowd at the side becoming sparser.

From the window, I could see a Roman styled public toilet that didn't have any kind of divider between the seat of the hole. Although some wealthy houses in the town had a private garderobe, commoners that were poorer than average and didn't have time to dump their waste to the river do it here.

‘Really? A toilet without a divider? Will people be talking to each other when taking a dumb?’ I gaze at the public toilet with a mixed feeling.

Just then, I called out to Sir Gareth at the side of the carriage and told him to find someone that usually handle this place.

Not long after, a crooked white-haired elderly man with a stick comes to the carriage before kneeling hardly and asking in a servitude tone,

“Milord… Are you looking for the one responsible for this place?”

“Yes, who are you?” I turned my gaze to him and asked.

“I am Steve, the one responsible for the public toilet and sewage at the town.” The crooked elderly man that called himself Steve replied while still kneeling.

“Steve?” I involuntarily said as I remembered something from my previous world.

“Yes?” The elderly man lifts up his wrinkled face with a confused expression.

“Nothing, there is no need to kneel more! Let’s go over there to have a deep discussion!” I said while pointing a certain place and then a guard at the side open the carriage door.

I told Lily to stay at the carriage but she was adamant to follow me. Seeing that, I could only sigh and allow it but then change my mind, as I seem to spoil her too much. She was fuming at the carriage as I leave her.

Then, we went to a place where there are two chairs and a table between them. I take one of the seats and point my hand to others said before saying,

“Take a seat.”

“But.. Milord.” The crooked elderly man was gazing at me with concern and uncertain expression on his face.

“Just take a seat, it’s fine!” I nod my head and encourage him to sit.

The crooked elderly man helplessly could only obey his Lord’s command and take a seat opposite me. Just as he sits on the chair and calm himself, I strike the first question.

“I had been wondering, does up until now all of the feces and urine from the public toilet dumb straight to the river?”

“Yes, it is Milord! There was small water sewage under it that lead to the river." The elderly man explains while tapping his stick to the ground as if pointing the location of the sewage.

“So, it means that there is no filter or any kind of water treatment? Had you ever thought that the supply water that people use to cook, drink, and wash up mainly came from the same river!?” I glared at the elderly man with hidden intimidation.

“I… I never thought such a thing..." The crooked elderly man downcast his gaze in shame for his negligence.

‘It’s actually quite surprising that the people at this town hadn’t get a plague or any kind of sickness despite taking the water from the river, but now that I think about it, I think that it was just simply lucked that they didn't.' I thought in grim for the lack of hygiene and sanitation in this town.

“Hah…” I sigh then continued, “It wasn’t your fault; it was just the people being too ignorant!”

“Anyhow, I had a task for you and I will promote you to become the official manager of the sanitation at the town if you manage to accomplish it, would you like to hear?” I gaze at the crooked elderly man while scrutinizing my eyes with a hidden challenge in it.

Hearing what I said, the crooked elderly man swallowed a mouthful of saliva before opening his mouth with a little trembling and said,

“This old bone had been in charge of the town’s sewage and public toilet for dozens of years and had experience in it while also confident in accomplishing what Milord might have for me!"

“Good, I will explain your task after we reach someplace in town!" I nod my head in satisfaction that the old man is motivation even in old age.

Then, I clap my hand to call a guard that was securing the place. As a guard with a round face and medium figure came, I ordered domineeringly,

“Prepare a carriage for him!”

“Yes!” the guard nodded his head servilely before excusing himself to get a carriage.

After the conversation was done, I went back to my carriage and see the still fuming Lily inside before sighing and said,

“I will give you a snack after we got back!”

Just as I said that Lily open her eyes wide then smiled purely to me and the fuming from before was gone as if there wasn’t any in the first place.

My heart got warm every time I see her smile.
