《The Monarch Of Ninth Hell》Vol. 1 Chapter 43: Rebellion(3)

“Get that bastard!” “Grab him!” “Kill him!” “Stop, you have violated the law!” “Your life is now forfeit!”
“What!?” the youth screamed as he ran desperately.
“Then pay with your blood!”
“I shall respectfully decline your offer!” the youth looked behind him. Seeing a dozen burly men chasing after you is a sight you don’t want to see even in your nightmares.
He and his pursuers ran throughout the Estate leaving rebels and clansmen alike, dumbstruck. Whoever they passed would stop fighting and look at them with bulging eyes.
The youth took out an arrow from his quiver as Murong Fang and his lackeys threw threats at him.
The youth turned around and aimed at behind him.
“Fuck, he’s gonna shoot! Dodge!” Murong Fang hurriedly barked out an order. They stopped in their tracks and frantically dodged. But the whistling sound of the arrow never came. They finally looked up to see that the youth had run away whilst they were busy dodging.
“Fuck! He bamboozled us!” Murong Fang spat out in anger as they resumed the chase.
The youth’s teasing laughter reached their ears which further angered them. The youth smiled triumphantly. So, it really was true. Every one of them cares for their lives!
The youth suddenly changed directions. As always, the lackeys taunted him with this as well.
“What’s the matter? Going to someone for help?” “Hah! Can’t you do anything but run away?” “Castrate him!”
“Oi, what has my genital done to you?” the youth glared at that lackey. “Did I bang your mother or something?”
“Did you hear that brothers!?” one of the more crafty lackeys screamed in anger. “He said he’d bang our mothers!”
“How dare he?” “Bastard!” “Motherfuc- Hooligan!”
“I did not say that!” the youth turned around and aimed an arrow at them.
But this time, they didn’t fall for it!
“Charge! That bastard’s bluffing again!” Murong Fang screamed from the middle. Some of the lackeys kept their momentum as they charged at him. The youth threw a balloon at them.
“Shi-” the lackeys couldn’t even finish their words when the balloon exploded in their faces. A sticky liquid covered their bodies, making them unable to move. The others stopped in shock as they witnessed with gaping jaws. The lackeys covered in the liquid started screaming as the liquid started searing their skin and made it redder.
“W-What’s happening?” Murong Fang simply couldn’t believe his eyes. He looked up and saw that the youth was running away yet again but this time, he stuck his tongue at them.
“Science, bitch!” the youth laughed teasingly and ran off. The others didn’t dally for long and chased after him.
“Careful!” Murong Fang yelled to his lackeys, “That fucker’s a Poison Master!”

“Can’t you call me something cool like Venommancer?” the youth quietly grumbled to himself. All of them were rapidly approaching the mirror. Murong Fang looked panicked for a moment when he saw the wall but calmed himself down before smiling sinisterly.
The youth heard a loud horn behind him but he ignored it and jumped over the wall. The lackeys’ countenance fell when they saw this. That’s when Murong Fang yelled smilingly, “Don’t falter! That dumbass went into the Yellowleaf Forest! Chase after him and corner him!”
“Yes, Young Master!” All of them screamed jovially. Their young master had promised them some very valuable benefits if they were to capture that butler. Just their greed made them work harder.
All of them hopped over the rather tall wall. Ordinary people would be hard-pressed to climb it without support but cultivators like them could jump over taller walls than this.
Once they were on the other side, Murong Fang and his lackeys saw the youth run further into the forest.
“Corner that rat!” Murong Fang yelled sinisterly and charged in with his lackeys. Dried leaves and twigs broke under their feet as the two parties madly dashed through the woods.
“Young Master, why are we giving chase in the Yellowleaf Forest?” One of the more timid lackeys asked Murong Fang. He saw no reason to chase someone into the dangerous Yellowleaf Forest where Deviant Beasts capable of ripping Blood Condensation experts to shreds roam.
“If an idiot like you understands this-” Murong Fang sneered as he looked at the youth running in front of him, “-then surely the cunning butler understands this as well.”
“…that’s right,” the lackey looked like he was enlightened.
“That’s why you don’t need to think about it too much and just chase him.”
“Understood, Young Master!” the lackey shouted with renewed vigor.
“Shut the fuck up,” he hissed at the lackey. “Just because it might be safe chasing him, doesn’t mean you should call the fucking Deviant Beasts here.”
The lackey clamped his mouth shut and focused on chasing the youth. He did not dare to look at Murong Fang’s eyes.
Idiots. Murong Fang cursed out in his heart. Ever since the tournament, his position in the family had fallen. His mother, the Matriarch had reprimanded him severely even if she couldn’t bear to punish him due to his injuries at the time. He gradually fell out of favor as his younger brother became their mother’s favorite.
If that was not all, Li Chyou had claimed she was being merciful and hadn’t destroyed his dantian during their fight. But that was wrong. Her halberd did graze his dantian. This put a crack on it. Now, he would always be in a state where he would leak Qi from his body.
He glared at the youth in front of him with eyes full of anger and resentment. To him, it was all the youth’s fault that he was in his current predicament. That bastard! As for Li Chyou? He did not think for a single moment she could’ve orchestrated all this. If she was dumb enough to fall into his trap, she was dumb enough not to be able to get out of it.

The youth shivered. He looked behind and met Murong Fang’s gaze. He smiled bitterly and focused on running. He, to a certain extent, understood why Murong Fang was gunning for him. He let go of unnecessary thoughts when he saw a mark on a tree he passed by.
He took an arrow out of his quiver. Murong Fang and his henchmen instantly became wary. He nocked the arrow and aimed at him. But to his pursuers’ confusion, he wasn’t aiming at them but in front of them.
Murong Fang looked ahead to see what he was aiming at but couldn’t see anything. He became warier and decided to slow down. Under his gaze, the youth released the arrow. What confused them, even more, was that it was particularly slow; not an arrow you’d use to kill your enemies. Even they were running faster than it.
Over their head, the arrow made contact with a balloon and the liquid inside it covered the few henchmen in front. The few henchmen who were covered widened their eyes as they recalled the pain the ones before they, went through. They fearfully waited for the searing pain to assault them. But even after waiting 15 seconds, there was no pain.
“Huh?” a henchman covered in the liquid sighed in relief. He sniffed at the liquid then made an ugly expression. “Is he trying to disgust us to death?” If the liquid wasn’t green, he’d certainly think that the youth covered them in feces.
“Ugyuu!” a loud cry was heard from the woods. All of them except the youth looked towards the direction where the sound came from.
Soon, a 5-meter leopard came running at them at full speed. Its fur was yellow and it looked perpetually soaked in water. Where its slender tail should be, there was a muscly one with fins at the end. Despite its drenched appearance, the eyes that peeked out through his fur were full of killing intent.
Murong Fang looked at the henchmen that were just soaked in the unknown liquid and then at the youth. When the dots finally connected, he cried out to the youth in fear and panic, “You psychopath! You called a fucking Blood Condensation Realm Deviant Beast here?!”
The youth looked behind him and flashed him a maniacal smile, “Young Master Murong is a Blood Condensation expert himself. Surely a beast is not a match for you?”
“B-Bastard!” Murong Fang cried out exasperatedly. I’m a Blood Condensation expert but in my current condition, I’m no different than a Qi Refinement idiot! He then looked at the henchmen who had ugly expressions, “You guys! Runaway from here! He put the pheromones of a Yellow Shore Leopard on you!”
The lackeys instantly shivered when they heard that name. Who didn’t know this Deviant Beast? They waited underwater near the shore for any unsuspecting victims. If anyone or anything came too close to them, they’d jump up and bite them with their sharp teeth before dragging them to the depths of whatever water body they inhabited. If their prey didn’t die from blood loss, then they’d surely drown to death.
And worst of all, they were amphibious! Although they didn’t normally wander on land, if provoked they’d chase you out of the water and onto the land.
But the question was-
“Motherfucker, how’d you get it here?” Murong Fang cursed at the youth.
“Haha! I poisoned all the females in that pond! Can you imagine its anger when just as it finally found a mate; it was a bunch of smelly humans?” He smiled smugly. Did you think I came to the Yellowleaf Forest just to chart an escape route?
“You fucking madman!” Murong Fang cursed him again. He then turned to the lackeys, “Run now! He’s coming for you!”
The lackeys who were covered in the pheromones ran another way as fear gripped their hearts. The Yellow Shore Leopard passed them by and went for the ones the youth had marked.
Soon, all of them heard blood-curdling screams off in the distance. Murong Fang and his group’s hearts were greatly shaken. Their morale was greatly shaken. Yet they still didn’t stop chasing him. Their hearts burned with hatred and the want for revenge.
It also didn’t help that the youth was laughing at them. Murong Fang spat out every single curse he knew. He came with 11 people and 6 remained including him.
They kept on running as the trees became sparser. Sunlight fell on their exhausted face. Murong Fang stopped as he looked at the youth who had also done the same. He was looking at their group with an expressionless face.
Murong Fang made a sinister and malevolent face. The youth had nowhere left to run. In front of him was Murong Fang and behind him was a cliff with a river running under him. But at this height, he had very little chance to survive even if he jumped.
He did it! He finally caught the bastard that was the source of his problem!
The youth looked down the cliff and said, “Seems like this is the end of the road!”

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
