《Heir of Wilberforce》Chapter 41: Armad versus Tyren (2)

"Hmmm...." Tyren sighed. "If you won't go out quietly then I'll just crush you out with my Djinn. Blame yourself for whatever happens."
He weaved a summoning sign with his hands. "Gal-Iyyu!" He chanted.
The ring shook violently and craters spread across its surface. The two bolts Armad launched earlier slowed down to a crawl as they collided with a black smoke that suddenly shielded Tyren. The smoke was lined by a red layer of lightning that shone dimly like an oil lamp.
The audience gasped. They widened their eyes in panic. First, nobody had yet identified Tyren's Djinn. That was very unusual. For a crowd that big, someone should have identified it already.
"Maybe it's a Darkness Djinn or a Lightning or... both?"
"I think it's a Cloud."
"No, no, have you ever seen a Cloud that dark? It might be an Earth or a..."
Tyren cut off their conversation by his next move.
"What the hell... That's a Cloud Djinn! Look at how it's absorbing the lightning bolts, only a Cloud can do that."
The audience were right. The smoky thing was a cloud from Tyren's Cloud Djinn, and it was absorbing Armad's lightning bolts. The cloud slowly absorbed the energy in the bolts before it shredded the lightning. Armad jumped back.
A Cloud Djinn? That's a really bad opponent for my lightning.
Tyren shrugged. "My victory was written long before we were born. Even if it wasn't, I'll write it now. Dying by my hands will give you more honor than achieving your piteous goals in this life, little Wilberforce."
"You will go back on your words, the same way you just did. Oh, what was it again? 'I won't use my Djinn or Gift, only plain sword', right?" Armad glared at him.

Tyren weaved another sign and pointed at Armad, causing the cloud to transform into a fist and punch Armad. Armad jumped to the side to avoid it, but before he landed, the cloud fist made a U-turn and attacked him from behind. Armad quickly laid flat on the ground to avoid being pummeled. It was just a bodiless cloud, but its energy had far surpassed one hundred years. Armad knew he shouldn't let it touch him.
Tyren pumped more energy into the cloud, increasing both its agility and strength. But Armad carefully dodged every attempt to capture him.
The Lightning Flash needs twenty-one more seconds to reactivate. I'll get him next time. Until then, I have to dodge this thing.
Armad ran around just to stall time. Once his Lightning Flash reactivated, he would use it together with the Dance to round off the fight.
However, Tyren realized he couldn't catch Armad with his cloud, he weaved another sign and chanted his next spell.
"Skies!"
The cloud stopped chasing Armad. It rose into air until it was twenty feet above the ring. Then it spread to form a sky over the ring. If that was all, then Armad wouldn't have minded, but it suddenly transformed into a cloudstorm and started raining. It was possible to dodge a cloud but you couldn't dodge a rain.
"You get rain from a cloud." Tyren said.
As if responding to Tyren's voice, a massive lightning bolt descended from the cloud and struck Armad. Armad used his bolt to counter. The two bolts collided in a deafening explosion. Tyren's bolt had life energy equivalent to one hundred years of longevity but Armad's had forty. Even if Armad were to use all his sixty-six life energy, he couldn't counter it. His clothes turned to dust and half his skin disappeared. He would have died if he didn't counter it with his bolt.

Armad trembled in agony. Tyren was even more paranormal than Amuru when it came to life energy regeneration. The man had been using attacks with one hundred life energy and yet he wasn't exhausted.
"Where the hell did you get all this energy?" Armad roared desperately.
"But, you can get lightning from a cloud as well?" Tyren said arrogantly.
And you can get ice from rain. Shit... Armad quickly tried to summon another lightning to protect himself but he had zero life energy. His wet clothes and hair froze; he turned into an ice sculpture.
Tyren walked arrogantly toward the ice sculpture that was once Armad. "You can also get ice from a rain." He said, giving Armad the same arrogant face he'd been giving him.
"I, Tyren O. Bayajidda, will rule all the worlds: from the First to the Seventh. I will start by killing you and showing the world the power of my longevity and my Djinn, Gal-iyyu!"
A cold wind blew over the arena.
This is how a Jinzidal should be. Everyone was thinking the same thing. It might sound barbaric but people had a dark side that could only be satisfied with blood. If there was no Jinzidal, the stronger countries would surely wage war against the weaker ones, just for the sake of the bloodshed. Uznu Urúrú thought.

The overgrown mansion
The main character returns to her deceased recluse uncle's home to get his effects in order. This is the beginning of a lovecraftian story inspired by somebody telling me about the Brombeermonster, a particulary nasty blackberry shrub overtaking her family's abandonned home. A backdrop for a story about eery and unexplained things if I ever heard about one. I will post the two parts I already posted on reddit; more maybe if there is interest from the community.
