Upstairs. Away from everyone. Worrying, by myself. I'm feeling a little better, but that's the only good thing that's happened recently. What was going on when I ended the last entry ... oh, that was before Carmen's 'attack'. That was scary. Apparently being held in a Dzodestran military laboratory for most of your life doesn't leave you equipped to respond appropriately to unwanted flirting from a guy like Shade. I don't even know what he said to her, but she just started screaming at him and then there was this ugly red and black energy crawling all over her and then it just ... spiked out. It's lucky Shade already got away because he could've ended up impaled, she cut some pretty deep gouges in the floor and the ceiling and everything else near her. The Force and Motoplasm got on top of things quickly, of course. Harmony too. I have to admit that I thought she was kind of, well, wet and soppy and touchy-feely but actually she's pretty great in a crisis situation. I was reprimanding Morgan for his bullying when the whole Carmen thing happened, but I didn't do much more than stare while The Force blocked Carmen's aura spikes and Motoplasm talked her down, I guess he might've 'cooled her blood' too? Maybe? Maybe not, he's pretty good just at talking even without his power. I'm not entirely sure what Harmony did, but she had her hand on The Force's arm and her eyes closed, I think that maybe she was sharing her awareness of the room with him so he could more effectively block Carmen's spikes with his force fields.
Anyway, eventually Carmen calmed down and kind of collapsed sobbing, which is about the point I realised that I was shaking. Like, really badly. I think her discharge of energy might have affected me. Anyway, after Harmony made sure Carmen was okay she brought me up here—apparently I'm not allowed any more pills even if I wanted them. No explanation given. No explanation asked for.

The view isn't as good on this floor. The windows are smaller, and they face out onto other buildings. And it's cold.
At least I can see properly now. Did I mention that? My vision started going all weird. Not just my vision either, my hearing and sense of smell and sense of taste and sense of touch, everything...
...
I don't think I have any powers right now. I can't create force fields, anyway. I should be able to, it's only ten minutes since I came up here. What is going ON with me?
...
I don't think I have anything more to say.
...
Just waiting.
...
And worrying.
...
And hoping.
...
...
...
That's weird, what was that? Maybe I

Dungeon Scholar
Girl meets dungeon. What could go right? A story of a good-hearted Scholar driven by her compassion and curiosity. She might be a little combat averse, but um, isn't that only logical? Love me a good grimdark, but sometimes I want to read feel-good fiction that isn't pure action, romance, or comedy. The plot and characters of Dungeon Scholar won't be all happy and fluffy, and the world will be more dungeons and monsters than rainbows and puppies, but overall the sweet moments should overshadow the bitter. Let's say three dollops of sugar for every pinch of salt, with lemon slices left on the saucers? Enjoy. Note: This is NOT a typical dungeon story. If you are here for the dungeon aspect, then fair warning this will seem incredibly slow-burn to you. The dungeon will eventually become the most important 'character,' arguably, or the second-most important narratively, but you might jump out the window in frustration long before that happens. At its heart, the story's core remains 'girl meets dungeon,' not 'dungeon meets world.' (To be clear, this does or will have a plot! It's just the more conventional story-like elements contribute to Rowena Loress's greater story, not the other way around; no conflict takes center stage until it becomes personally significant to her. Meanwhile, have some Slice of Life.) Updates every Friday Cover made using Waifulabs Written using 4thewords (referral code: UZJRY55368)
