《Magical Cosmic》Chapter 54: Splurging on The Astra Mechanic Store Part II

“Yes?” Branch head Colton blinked, swiping his handkerchief to his forehead. “Does what esteemed sir mean is Mobile Robot Suit with highest mobility and firepower?”
“Indeed," I confirmed with a nod. “Ah… I shouldn’t have interpreted it like that.”
“No worry, no worry. This should be the fittest of what esteemed sir wanted.” He showed me the list containing two Mobile Robot Suit with an intricate design.
“This one was named High Firepower Mobility Mobile Robot Suit or MRS for short. It might have a somewhat bulky design but the boosters on all over its body made it one of the fastest MRS. Furthermore, it is equipped with multiple weapons all over its body.” Branch Head Colton pointed his finger to the Mobile Robot Suit with around 20 meters tall.
Next, he shifted to the other one with a slimmer design. “The right one is Ever-Changeable MRS. Plane, spaceship, submarine, it can change into almost anything. Even becoming a giant weapon is no issue.”
“Really?! There’s such a thing?”
“Yes. The price for this one might be more on the higher side since it requires a unique mechanism. Yet I think it shouldn’t be an issue for esteemed sir with a special VIP card.” The branch head smiled.
Curious, I read the price tag only to have myself almost had a heart attack. 55 million credits? Ugh… I think the one that wields this card must be someone very influential. Well, it's Professor Landon’s after all. Hmm…? Come to think of it…
“Interesting. With such an amazing Mobile Robot Suit, it should still have one or two weaknesses, no?"
Sweat trickled down his forehead before he nodded. “I-I wouldn’t say it a weakness… but I’m scared that the one able to control this thing is only a very excellent pilot. Even with the help of a smart A.I., controlling this thing is a hassle. If it wasn’t for this fact, the price would have been higher…” Just right as what I expected.
“With such a glaring flaw, have this thing ever sold to anyone?”
“E-esteemed sir… How about I give a discount of 5 million credits? With the VIP card, I can further give a 20% discount on this, I suppose.” His clothes had long since soaked by sweat as he said that.
Wait, did I just hit a sore spot for this? No, other than that, this thing may never be purchased by anyone before. Still, I like the design and it may be the fittest of all the Mobile Robot Suit on the list… I should check more first.

After checking the list for any better choices, I didn’t find anything that had the same amount of firepower. Then, while faking a disappointed face, I said, “Hah… If it has a slightly lower price. I deem it to be good enough as my collection.”
“Please… don’t be too disappointed, esteemed sir. How about 35 million credits? I cannot decrease the price no more.”
“Good. It’s a deal.” Hearing that, he sighed in relief. Although It needed a professional pilot, with a simulation pod, I would be able to master it sooner or later anyway. Better give it a try than miss the chance.
“Okay. Next, I want to remodel my spaceship.”
“Remodel? May I see sir’s spaceship?”
Flicking my wrist, I gave him my spaceship hologram projection from the holo-watch on my suit. He couldn't help but be dumbfounded by what he saw.
“Esteemed sir… this ship is too outdated. I suggest buying a new one instead.” Hmm… I may agree if I’m not to attach to my spaceship but…
“Oh? Does the Astra Mechanic Store not capable to do such a simple task as remodeling?” I mocked, trying to bait him.
“Please… don’t tease me like that.” Branch head Colton smiled awkwardly and then said, “The cost might be exponential depending on what kind of remodeling esteemed sir wanted.”
“Full remodeling.”
“Pardon?”
“I said, “I want a full remodeling of the ship!”” Without waiting for his reply, I gave him a hologram of a ship type that I wanted.
“Frigate class spaceship? This shouldn’t be too hard. 50 million credit should do for the remodeling cost, I suppose.” 50 million?! It’s a bit off from my calculation of ‘that.’ There goes my money…
Afterward, I continued to buy a few more things that I deemed necessary. For example, the smart nano suit and helmet. It had always been a bother to manually put in and take off those things. The nano suit would be able to cover my body in an instant. Obviously, I didn’t forget to take out ATHENA’s chip and insert it into the new helmet.
“Esteemed sir, the Mobile Robot Suit should be ready by tomorrow. As for the remodeling of the spaceship, however, I’ll need to contact the engineer group and mobilized robots. Give or take, may take three days.”
Three days? That fast. Still, if it could be sped up, it'll be better.

With that in mind, I raised two fingers to him. “Two days. Finish it in two days. It shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
“Y-Yes… I’ll do my best, I suppose. With that said, the total price tag is 98 million credits.”
I flinched, with a slightly trembling hand, transferred the credit to him. I wasn't worried that he would take the money since the government had a strict rule and watched upon the agreement about the transaction.
Ah… Almost forgot about the task that I was entrusted with. Now then, let’s see what will happen if I take this box out.
“Sir Colton, mind take a look at this?” I showed him the mysterious box that Landon had given me.
“This is…” He took and examined the mysterious box before opening it up. Out of expectation, the content was a letter. He read the content seriously and over time his expression turned shocked and even a bit horrified.
“Pardon my rudeness… but where esteemed sir got this?” The branch head asked, sweating buckets all over him.
Now, how much should I share the information? Guess, I’d play a fool and tell what normal people should know.
“Someone gave it to me. He’s a drunkard wearing a white robe.”
Branch head Colton seemed confused but then nodded. “I understand, may esteemed sir here give a message to him?”
“Sure. Ah… Don’t tell this transaction to anyone! I believe that Astra Mechanic Store wouldn’t share its client’s secrets, right?” I glared at him, trying to threaten.
“Haha… Of course, of course. I wouldn’t dare to leak it even if I have ten times the courage,” laughed branch head Colton with a sweaty smile.
Afterward, he gave me a holo-message and all the items on the holo-list before we parted ways. The miscellaneous items exceeded my dimensional storage capacity, but it was just so happened that I bought a better one.
Later, I went out of the Astra Mechanic Store with a satisfied smile. I was grateful for the VIP card that Landon had lent me; thus, I tried to find him immediately and give him the message. It didn’t take long for me to find him, as he was already waiting not too far from the store while holding booze in hand.
“How is it, bub? Did you deliver the box?”
“Yup! And the branch head gave me this for you.” I flicked my wrist, handing him the holo-message.
Upon reading the content, his initial relief expression turned into sour before completely darken in despair.
“Damn it! Now… how can I be a scientist again?” He yelled, completely forgetting that our transmission was still connecting.
Finding that this was a good opportunity, I blurted, “How about you work for me?”
“Huh? What are you talking about? You… a nobody without a clear background wanted to recruit me? Don’t make me laugh.” Landon smirked. There was a desperation in his eyes.
“Heh… isn’t it better than being jobless and without a future like someone in particular?”
“YOU!!” Landon pulled my suit but then released it and sighed, “Then tell me! If what you’re going to say is nonsense. I’ll beat you half dead!”
“Calm down. I’ve got a place for you to work without—”
“HUH?! Did you mean working with pirates? Are you messing with me?” He intensely glared.
“No… You wouldn’t believe me if I tell you. Here, check this out.” I took out a carcass of the invisible beetle and gave it to him. Hehe… This thing should work…
Landon took and examined it with a device. “What kind of trash are you gi— Wait, what the heck is this? Where did you get this?”
“I’ll tell you if you agree to work for me.”
After much consideration, Landon agreed. “Ngh! Fine!”
Without further ado, I took out the Contract Collar and said, “Wear this.” This Contract Collar has been set and would activate the moment someone wears it. The content is acceptable though, I only make sure that the contracted won’t stab me in the back.
“What’s this? Before that, are you not going to ask who I am? No… From the looks of it, you seem to already know…” Landon snatched the collar and wore it in his hand, in which the collar resized to fit his hand.
Wait… How come that he knows the collar can resize? Anyway, now I've got a genius scientist working for me, what things I couldn't accomplish?

Project Alpha: A Summary - 'Old Republic to Current Operational Era'
This is the beginning story of an ongoing epic written over a period of ten years. A labor of love for me. We start the story with the summary of what started it all: Project Alpha. A project conceived by the Supreme Chancellor to prevent another Hyperspace Conflict. The project; like all government run projects, spawned other 'side-initatives'. One of which results in the creation of our five main protagonist which are the main characters of the next series of stories. We start at the end of the Great Hyperspace Conflict. The prologue addressing what effect all of this has on the New Hope Era of the Star Wars saga.
