《Magical Cosmic》Chapter 26: A New Goal

Shortly after, the capsule opened before Brown walked out from inside. The capsule had injected a nutrient solution to his body; thereby, making him looked energized and made the malnourished look of his gone.
The remained of scars on his body also vanished completely, as if he had never been wounded before. I noticed that the wrinkles on his face lessen a lot, making him look younger for more than 10 years.
“This… it feels like I had been reborn.” Brown examined his body and touched his face; he flinched as he realized that the deep hidden scar he had before disappeared.
“It’s a miracle! Sir was indeed a mighty Magus. I would have died if sir didn’t help me.” He said gratefully as he bowed to me in 90 degrees position.
“Ahem… enough of that! I want you to give me information about the world. I had secluded myself for years, thus I didn’t have the newest information.”
Well, I was no saint. I had a motive for saving him. I know that I’m no good person nor a bad person as the world itself had neither.
"If it's what sir wanted then I'll comply and explain all that I know to sir." And with that, Brown explained everything about this world.
It doesn't differ much from what Lillie had told me before, but Brown had more wide and in-depth information. I also couldn't depend on one-person information only.
“As Sir might have known, the nobility had an arc between their first and family names.” When that was said, I noticed that Lillie had that between her name. Oh, shoot! Did I just kidnap a nobility? Wait, I didn't kidnap her, nor do I care.
"… The Brightmoon family is a powerful Viscount nobility that rules the city of Brightmoon and its surroundings in the north of the Plain Forest."
Hmm? If it was so then why would Lillie…
"It was a fair territory where people could live in harmony under the caring of the previous lord, but alas…" Suddenly Brown stopped as a dim look formed on his eyes.
“Was it because of Lillie’s heterochronic eyes?”
“Yes, it’s as what Sir had thought. Milady is the heir of Brightmoon Viscounty and the sole daughter of the previous lord. It would have been a bright future for her if not for her eyes." He gave out a heavy sigh.

Does this world had a backward thought? It feels like she was being branded as a witch or something. No, I smell a conspiracy here.
“So, what's up with her eyes?” I inquired, not thinking further of what I said.
"Does Sir didn't know? Ah… sir must have come from a faraway place but sir's a Magus, so sir must have known about a unique constitution." Wait, what’s a unique constitution?
Misunderstanding my silence as a yes, he continued, “Milady’s heterochronic eyes weren't caused by birth, it was a symptom that appears when an unfortunate accident came to her.”
Wait wait wait…. How could an eye color change just like that? This is nonsense.
“At that time, she….” Brown started explaining the backstory of her eyes.
Hmm? She had that accident in a Month of Darkness? Come to think of it, Lillie explained that there were 12 months in this world named after the color of the respective moon. I thought that the green moon I saw before was my hallucination or an eye illusion effect.
“So, do you mean that the Month was the cause? Or is she born with it?” I questioned in doubt.
“It’s both but the one that triggers it is a creature of darkness. A creature's known to trick Humans to harvest their life force. Milady was almost tricked, but her constitution awakens and the soldiers managed to find her.”
What’s with this fairy tale story? Heck, I’m not even sure if it’s real anymore. But this explained why Lillie was so scared of the hologram movie before.
After that, Brown continued explaining the reason of how they got to this state. I couldn't help but fell in deep thought. Well, humans didn't know the bound of greed. In the face of power and wealth, a brotherly bound is nothing but dirt.
“I understand your situation and had agreed to let Lillie stay in here. So, you don’t need to worry about the place you need to seek shelter.”
But this will become inconvenient to let myself be drag into this complicated string. I still need to… Hahhh… even after repairing my ship, I won’t be able to get back and seek my revenge.
My teeth gritted and had my hand clenched when that thought came across my mind again.

Wait, what’s wrong with me? I had this unknown universe to be explored and there’s the Technology Cube full of the entire culmination of Human technology! I could even be the King of the world if I want to.
Yeah, I had been too low-key all this time, and it may be the cause that I got betrayed previously. Now that I had the chance, how could I not seize it? Only a fool would miss this chance sent by heaven.
“Brown, I was a solitary man, but I promise you that if you were to swear allegiance to me and swear to never betray me. I’ll seek revenge for you and Lillie.”
Upon hearing that, a surprised look formed on Brown's face before he calmed down and answered, "I didn't wish for anything, except if sir promise to take care of milady for as long as she lived, then I’ll swear my allegiance."
With that, I smiled and turned my back, "I promise that I’ll give her a lifetime of peace and happiness, and that will never change."
“If what sir said is true, I'll swear my allegiance to sir.” Brown moved toward me before kneeling and swore, "I, Brown Moondust. Greet myself to the lord!"
“Good. Since you had done that, it’s inappropriate for me not to show my face.” With that, I opened the helmet that had been covering my face all this time.
Brown’s eyes widen in surprise as he saw my face. He then exclaimed, “I didn’t know that lord was so young. It’s more appropriate to call lord as Young Lord or milord.”
“Call me as you see fit," said me, not bothering with the fact that I was older than what I look.
Afterward, I showed Brown around the ship and explained to him the usage of the place. Of course, because I was still cautious of him, I didn't explain all the crucial places.
“Milord, are those magic lamps? I heard that it was commonly used on a Magic City in the Capital.” He pointed his fingers to the light source inside the room.
Magic lamps? Does that mean this world had a lamp? But what kind of power source it used? Magic?
“Y-yeah, but let’s said that it was a bit different than normal magic lamps.”
After finished touring the ship, I told him to rest in the room not far from my and Lillie's room. As the ship wasn't so big, there weren't that many rooms to begin with.
“How could I sleep before the Young Lord?” Brown rebuked but couldn’t help to consent after I ordered, “Just do as I said!”
“Yes, milord!” Thus, he went to his room with a little hesitation.
“Sigh* Finally done with all this. Time to set up a good place to make a base.” I went back to the control room before asking, “ATA, had you finish mapping the surrounding?”
[“Affirmative! The surrounding 200 kilometers map had been constructed. Proceed with showing?”]
“Proceed!” Just then, a 3D hologram map was shown. I could see that I was located 50 km northwest of the crash site.
"Hmm? This place is quite secluded and easy to defend. A great place to make a base." My finger touched a specific location on the southeast around 120 or so kilometers away.
Guess, I'll leave the ship on auto navigation system. My eyes are already hard to keep open and I could feel my muscles ache for some reason.
After setting the ship on autopilot, I went back to the living quarters to sleep. To my surprise, Lillie was standing in the hallway and waiting for me.
“Still not asleep, Lillie?”
“Eek! V-Victor, you surprised Lillie.”
“So, what is it that has been bothering you?”
“Lillie had a nightmare and scared to sleep alone. So, could Victor accompany Lillie tonight? That would make Lillie happy.” She said while avoiding eye contact with me. A trace of blush somehow appeared as I kept staring at her.
Sleep together? That’s quite inappropriate... but I already promised to give her a lifetime of peace and happiness, so I guess accompanying her was still okay. She’s after all, only a 10 to 11 years old at most.
In the end, I shrugged the matter off and agreed, “Hah… Fine.”
“Yay~!” She clung to me before pulling my hand to her room.
