《Magical Cosmic》Chapter 21: Free Time to Relaxing

After that deep contemplation, I decided to cast that thought aside since I didn't have any way to prove it. Placing the strange tiny stone back inside of the scanner, my mouth couldn’t help but twitch upon seeing the result.
"A stone that was able to produce energy?! No… it in itself wasn't weird, there's a lot of material able to do that, but what makes me dumbfounded is that it was able to work without any activator or some sort." I instinctively scratched my hair and my eyes quivered while a feeling of dejection cropped out.
It’s one thing for me, a person equipped with all kinds of technology and knowledge centuries ahead couldn’t figure the bizarreness of this world, but not being able to comprehend a simple tool used by savages is a completely different thing.
Hotness cropped up on my cheek and if there were any holes in here, I would stick my head in there to cover my shame.
Anyway, I should gather more information from these knights and Lillie to confirm my doubts first before anything else.
Just then, ATHENA suddenly reported to me, [“Master~, Lillie seems to have another trouble and need help.”]
Again? Well, cause of the interruption I didn't get the chance to explain the stuff to her before. I could use the A.I. to explain though but that might just freak her out more.
Therefore, I went toward Lillie’s room again to check on her. And just when I got into her room, I could see her clumsy face looking into the entrance like she was expecting someone.
“V-Victor! What took you so long?” She looked around me while for some reason rubbed her thighs to each other and hold them with her folding hands together like she was suppressing something.
Seeing that, I inquired, "I had a few matters that need to be taken care of. Anything wrong?"
“I-it just… Lillie didn’t know where the toilet is located.” She stuttered on her word and had her cheeks redden.
Ahh… toilet huh? Wait, haven’t I told her that the bathroom was placed beside the room? Owh… She might not understand how to use it.
“It’s here, let me show you how to use it.” I moved toward a specific wall that then opened and revealed a bathroom inside.

"This is the bathroom, and this….." I kept explaining to her the usage and how to use every kind of thing in the bathroom.
Finding that she could hold no more, I could only give a sour smile and get out of the bathroom. Not long after, I could see Lillie coming out from there as well. A breath of relief escaped from her mouth as she seemed to have escaped her most dangerous predicament.
“Uhh… if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going first.” Just when I was about to move my leg, I felt a tugging on my back suit.
“W-wait… Lillie didn’t know how to bathe by herself… a servant usually does it for Lillie instead.”
Servant? Is she the daughter of a wealthy merchant or influential person? Well, that explains how she wore a fancy dress…
“W-would… Victor do it for Lillie instead?” She said while furtively peeking with an expectation.
Ye… Wait…. what is this girl saying? Did she have some screw loose on her head or something? Arghh… Enough of this! My mental state just couldn’t take this anymore…
“ATHENA, you take charge to guide her step by step on this!”
[“As you wish, Master!”]
Since ATA had more in-depth knowledge of the ship, she couldn’t hold a candle to ATHENA on explaining, so I decided to use her to explain. Lillie was tilting her head and seemed to see me speaking with air.
Suddenly a cheerful voice appeared again with a language that she could understand, [“Foreign language synchronizes~! Mark it as the common language, test 1…2…3… Do you hear me?”]
“Who’s talking?” Lillie shuddered in fright and she tried to look around to find the source of the sound.
“Calm down, it was only an A.I., I mean it was a smart kind of machinery…. or tool that could talk from the ship.” I tried to explain the definition of A.I. to the simplest thing possible.
“You mean some kind of a fairy spirit that was said to guard a majestic building of the past?” Lillie’s eyes were glowing upon the possible mentioned of fairy.
Now what? A fairy? She must be a sheltered daughter of an influential family and likes to read too many fantasy books.
"Y-yeah you could say it like that." I nodded with a twitched.

And just like that, I avoided the dead-end path. Seeing Lillie was going to take a bath, I decided to do the same since I hadn’t had one for two days straight.
Thereafter, I went to my room located next to Lillie's. As I went in, a bigger sized room filled with my stuff was revealed. Since I didn't have any robot to clean the place, I could only rely on auto cleaning of the ship to clean this place.
Geh… I should tidy this place later. Although it's not like it was that dirty either.
The bathroom was then opened before I moved toward the big bathtub at the side. My hand touched a button to turn it on before the tub was filled with warm water in less than one second. Later which I get in after undressing.
Aaahhhh…. Feels good to take a rest and relax in warm water. Rather than using nanites that could instantly clean the body, using water was more enjoyable for me.
I know that nanites had been created centuries ago for a swift bathing time. But I think having a relaxing bath is more enjoyable.
My eyes become heavier as time passed and completely closed before falling in a snooze. Warmth was the only thing I felt on my skin, I had the bathtub on automatic mode, so it generated waves and soaps to clean me without needing to do anything.
One minute, two minutes, ten minutes…. I kept snoozing in the warm pleasure of the water.
[“Master!”]
“H-huh? Who’s there?”
Upon having myself jolted awake, I had my guard raised and instinctively took my dimensional storage in case of anything.
“Oh-ah… What is it?”
[“it seems that Lillie didn't have any changes of clothes~. What should we do?"]
Hearing that it was only a trivial problem, I replied nonchalantly, "Oh, just use the construction device on the ship to make some clothes for her. Also, use the drone to give it to her."
[“Will be done~!”]
A few minutes later, I decided to come out from the bathtub as too much rest was just a waste of time. I also wanted to find information from the unconscious knights.
Just when I got myself ready and come out of my bedroom, I saw Lillie waiting outside of my room. She was wearing a cream-white sweater with a light red ribbon that showcased her charm and purity. There was also a short pant with a pinky leg strap on her left hip that somehow enchanted her further.
As I examined her, I let myself get lost in a reverie, completely forgetting my initial purpose. Lillie becomes restless and her two forefingers started touching each other to hide her face.
"Vi—… don't stare at me too much…" For some reason, she stuttered before turning her flushed head sideways.
“Ahem… It's nothing, you're cute wearing those clothes. Guess, it was the right choice to entrust you to ATHENA." I coughed before turning my body in the opposite direction.
Unknown to me, Lillie’s cheeks were blushing so hard that an apple would pale in comparison. I had my mind wandered somewhere and gazed at the hologram clock on the suit before uttering a word, “I think it’s about time to have dinner.”
“You promised Lillie to give something sweet!” I could see Lillie was furtively looking at me from the side.
“Yeah, I promise. Now follow me.”
“Yay~!” And with Lillie in tow, I went toward the dining hall in the ship.
Since I didn't have any robot to do my bidding, the food could only be made by myself. Fortunately, the ship had an auto kitchen, so I didn’t need to cook nor was I able to in the first place.
As I reached the dining hall, I activated and selected the food on the auto kitchen. A few seconds later, a food trolley with three trays and round covers was presented to me from it. I took it to the table where Lillie had been sitting in eagerness as she was playing with her fork and spoon.
Subsequently, I gave her one of the trays before opening the cover. An extravagant steak was then revealed from inside. Upon seeing this, the antenna hair on Lillie's head was twitching madly and her mouth started to water up.
I sat opposite her and had mine opened as well, revealing the same steak that she got. Afterward, I started eating after having spread the sauce on top of the steak.

This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time.
