《Magical Cosmic》Chapter 20: Harvest and Strange Tool R

Upon seeing this sight, I felt nausea coming out of my stomach. But since I often saw this sight in a hologram movie, I managed to hold it down.
Ugh… This isn’t good for my mood; the smell of blood will also attract any kind of beast in the vicinity. I should hurry up and get away from here.
Just then, I noticed the body of a knight twitched at the side. It was the only knight that somehow still had an intact stomach and head, although all his limbs were gone.
“Uuu.. uhuck… Y-yo-u, y-ou mu-st be t-he do..er… You dem-- Uhuck!" The knight wanted to curse at me further, but the last blood cough killed him.
For him, I must look like a demon but for me, I had done what I deem right to do.
I turned my head sideways before moving toward the remained of the knight commander. My hand started rummaging his mincemeat body with little hesitation and found a tool resembling a colonial watch.
A watch? Somehow it resembles a mechanical watch that was popular in the colonial era. Weird, how come that they had such a tool more advanced than their supposedly Medieval-Renaissance Age Technology?
Subsequently, I tried to search more but found nothing except some personal items like an undamaged pouch of gold coins. After not finding anything else, I approached the glass bottle which had caused the commander to become berserk before carefully storing it in my dimensional storage.
Now that it’s done, I feel that it's about time to take the sleeping one.
As I smirked and went to the forest, I saw ten knights laying on the ground, unmoving. The sight of them sleeping and making trails of bodies was quite weird and hilarious, it was as if they were beggar knights that didn't have anywhere to sleep.
Still, bringing ten of them is too much. Since I only need to collect in-depth information about the reason for them being so strong, I only need one or two.
But if I were to leave them here and they manage to get back. They definitely will report to their superior, it would just create more trouble for me later.
“I’m sorry, but you can only blame yourself for your bad luck to cross me.” Murmured me as I could only grit my teeth and closed one of my eyes before killing most of them with the All Cut Sword swiftly.

Somehow, I feel a little bad for just killed them. Guess, I will make a burial site for them so they could die more honorably. And of course, I’ll use your belongings to their full use.
After making a hole for the knights, I moved them one by one not before taking what they had. Then, my hand grabbed the two knights with me back to the ship. I didn’t bother with littered limbs and parts of the knights around my ship since it will be too much of a bother to clean them all.
As I reached the front door of the ship, a piercing light of the setting sun filled the corner of my eyes. Somehow, a feeling of melancholy cropped up as my eyes witnessed the yellow sky, it was as if my soul was being taken.
It's been a while since I see the beautiful sunset in a world like this… Traveling across the outer space makes this kind of sights quite rare for an explorer.
A sigh went out as I entered the ship with the two unconscious knights in tow. I went straight to the control room and put the two knights at the side without thinking that they might suddenly woke up.
After all, with the amount of sleeping gas they inhaled, unless I gave them the antidote, they would stay unconscious for over a few hours. But just in case something unexpected happened, I chained them with a very hard chain all over their bodies.
Just then, ATA reported that the drones had picked up signs of ferocious beasts approaching the ship. Hearing that, I decided to deal with them later and went toward the captain’s chair before ordering, “ATA, activate the small thruster of the ship and get away from here.”
[“As you commanded!”]
A few seconds later, I could feel the ship ascended to the air as the functioning thruster pushed it upward. Even though the main thruster was damaged and not working, at least the remaining smaller thruster was able to move the ship.
But alas, not all the smaller thruster was free from damage, so the ship was only able to float around 20 meters above ground and moved very slowly.
Just then, something that I had forgotten for quite some time came across my mind. Now that the ship is working fine and I had no more urgent thing, I should have all these miscellaneous items be scanned by the computer.

I moved my eyesight to the big device attached to the wall which resembled a glassless big oven commonly used for baking. I then took out a carcass fragment of the invisible beetle before storing it inside.
Not long after, I saw a hologram screen being projected from it. Since the scanner was connected to the main quantum computer of the ship, it was able to scan any matter so fast and so detailed even to the most basic structure of it.
This… this is nonsense! The carcass is made by a material that wasn’t strong but how come that it could become as hard as steel when it was alive?
I began to skim through the information and found that the material could become stronger and even reflected light when it was injected with energy.
Still, although it could explain why, how come a small creature able to generate enough energy to power it? Now that I think about it, it may as well explain why it could have more than 100 power points.
Guess, there’s no need to think about this further. One thing for sure, this material had so many usages.
After that, I grabbed out the carcass fragment without being afraid that there was anything left behind since the device would clean any remain automatically. Subsequently, I took out the bloodied corpse of the fluffy rabbit and put it inside. Another hologram was then projected from it. Unconsciously a smile formed on my mouth as I read the content.
This rabbit is safe to consume, no… it’s even very nutritious and better than normal lab meat. Although technology could produce any kind of perfect meat from simple protein, it didn’t mean it was always the best since it still depends on the protein used.
Actually, I could gather lots of protein from the greenery, but I chose not to do that before, as my task at that time was to survey the surroundings instead of scavenging.
Next, I scanned the water gallon and found that it indeed had an anomaly content for ammonia and waste. Despite that, it said that the water was safe to drink after being filtered.
As I had thought, there should be a settlement or something upstream from that river. I wonder what kind of town or city looks like in this world. Even so, I’m still suspicious of the bacteria, but the scanner had identified that most of them aren’t harmful, so I suppose drinking it if there aren’t any more choice is okay.
Just then, I scanned the mechanical watch to find out the components that made this curious thing. To my surprise, it didn’t contain a mechanical gear to operate the watch. But what made me dumbstruck was the fact that the inside of it was empty except for some glowing carvings.
This… this wasn’t a watch, what is this thing?
As the scanner scanned throughout the watch, I tried to use the tools inside to open and rummage around it before finding nothing. Wait, what's this weird tiny dark purple stone?
Confusion began to form on my head before I opted to take that out from the scanner and touched it with my hand. Since I had my suit on, I couldn’t feel the texture directly but at least the sense of touch was perfect.
Is this an amethyst? No… it was heavier and had a slightly gentler color in comparison. And… what’s that?
From inside of the stone, I saw an almost transparent light purple colored light circling through the stone non-stop, it was as if the stone was brimming with life.
Strange… does an amethyst... do something like this? Ack… what's wrong with me, this was a different Universe with a law of physics that differs from the Universe I was before. Any new strange element is possible to appear here.
Wait, does that mean the tools that I brought might not work? I had my pulse rifle, suit, and any kind of devices working normally but there isn’t any guarantee that all of it will be, right?

Proud of who they are, proud of their blood. That pride blinds their eyes and clouds their minds. They are fools, for they have forgotten the ways of the past. They have forgotten the fears of old. The one you had to bind until the end of the time. They have forgotten the dark beast with red jewels for eyes. The Wargr gnaws the walls of his cage even now as I write. Itching for the taste of blood. I ask for forgiveness, for until a while ago I too was one of them. I thought I saved your children from the foretold doom. I now realize the hordes of foes we buried were just like us. No fearsome beasts, no harbingers of doom. Mortals of different flesh, different kind. But I am awakened from that dream now. I see it. Every time I close my eyes, I see it. The cold descends as the Dark walks the land, And the crimson stars shine beneath, as the ashen storm claims the realm. I hear the beast roar as the chains of Rukh crack, Only then I know. Only then I realize. That it’s the end. Descend to earth one more time. Save the puny souls that are us.
