《Chosen by the Laws》Chapter 17 Burmese Python

Having no idea as to why he didn't look at the rewards from the territory war as soon as he got them, he proceeded to pull up his notifications for the day. Glossing over the ones he had already seen such as the start of the war and the end of it he moved on to what he was really after the rewards from the battle,
Rewards calculated.....

2 major rewards and 2 Medium rewards obtained based on the combined achievements.
Major rewards - One rare skill of choice, unlock one hidden stat of choice.
Medium rewards - +3 Levels to one skill currently possessed - Pure Core - level 4 - basic.
Territory paragon - title received - Increase the growth speed of resources on all territories by 5%, Stats are boosted by 5% while on controlled territories.
Boss slayer title has leveled up.
His jaw hit the floor, it even shocked Albert into silence, the rewards were immense consider the feats he achieved however it was to be expected, no one had progressed as fast as he had, at least not this quick. Pushing the territory questions aside for the moment considering he had no clue what it meant, he moved on to what he hoped would be the answer to his current idea, the rare skill of choice rewards.
Upon claiming the reward a screen appeared in front of him with a list of thousands of skills, 4570 to be exact, compared to the common skills and uncommon skill screen he had witnessed before there appeared to be a huge drop in numbers considering the other two appeared endless.
Scrolling through all of them would have taken too long so firstly he narrowed his search to his goal, Beast taming skills, and 3 of them appeared
Beast tamer - Rank rare - Tame beasts deemed as wild by the system. Success rate based on skill level and the level and rank of the target. 20% success rate for targets at the same level and rank. Limit 2 Grows with skill rank.
Specific tamer - Rank rare - Attune your tamer skill to a specific type, race, or Law of a wild creature, Cannot be changed. Only the attuned type of creature can be tamed. Success rate based on skill level and the level and rank of the target. 30% success rate for targets at the same level and rank. Limit 3, grows with skill rank.
System tamer - Rank rare - Control system granted individuals, extremely low success rate - will be seen as evil by those around you - success rate based on level of skill and the level and rank of the target, 1% success rate for targets at the same level and rank. Limit 1, grows with Skill rank.
The benefits of each were clear Beast tamer was versatile although it possessed a slightly lower success rate of 20% it would not limit him in any way, unlike the Specified tamer, although it boasted a higher success rate if he limited his choices in such a way it would only hinder the skill in the future. Finally the last skill, system tamer. This skill petrified him knowing that the ability was out there, basically told him that he could be tamed in the future, the low success rate provided some consolation however it still sent shivers down his spine just thinking about it.

In the end, he decided to go with his gut and select the beast tamer skill, before selecting it however he had a glance over some of the other rare skills just to see if he could train some of them himself, he had a title which allowed him to gain one tip on a skill per day and it was about time he started using it.
Not wanting to take too much on, he picked out 3 skills
Shield of Law, Steps of the black mamba, and Sword of sound.
The descriptions of each called out to him, and the first of many title would hopefully, help him learn at least one of them.
Finally finished looking at skills he selected beast tamer and watched as the knowledge was integrated into his inner world.
"Albert why do I have to learn the knowledge from these skills before I can use them when I teach myself a skill not gained from the system I get extra information on how to use it put into my mind"
"Well, the reason being is the fact that all skills are not compatible with you for example you could accidentally purchase a skill not suited for your body but that of a skill designed for another race or being. For example a fire breathing skill, you couldn't use it but dragons could. The system also views the rewarded skills as a test of sorts, why give you the knowledge when you can earn it yourself, the skill demo awaiting you in your inner world however is extremely helpful, consider the skill guides as training wheels.
With his question explained, Daimon took one last look at the Burmese python, seeing that it wouldn't recover for a good while he sat down and entered his inner world.
Not much had changed since the last time he was here it seemingly had expanded a small amount, and the new skill guide for beast tamer had appeared. Walking up to the skill he prepared to learn it.
The process however was difficult, he watched as a copy of himself placed his hand upon a beast and sent a thin tendril of mana into the creature. To daimon this was easy, what wasn't easy however was the emotions sent through that tendril of mana. He watched as peace, hope, friendship, and loyalty were infused into the tendril of mana before being absorbed into the creature upon which the skill ended.
As hard as he willed it, he could not do the same. What felt like countless hours passed before Daimon felt hopeless. There had to be a better way, he realized that he couldn't stir up his emotions enough to alter the mana. Realizing that he needed a strong memory to affect the man he closed his eyes and thought back to his past.
He was 7 standing on the hull of his father's small fishing vessel, alongside him sat his father and one of the local men from the town. Slowly they sailed out to sea, straying further and further away from the coastline. As the coastline grew distant the waves grew larger until a huge storm rolled in, with only Daimon his father and the local man on board all seemed hopeless. Carrying him to the enclosed wheelhouse of the ship his father began to steer while the local man ran to fix the sail. At this point, massive waves were bombarding the ship and the wind was crashing into the side, both working in tandem to tip the vessel, And then disaster struck a huge wave washed over the vessel when the water cleared the local man was nowhere to be found. It was at that moment his father picked him up and stared him right in the eye and said " I promise to get us out of this son stand by me and we will make it through this storm together", That one sentence was filled with hope, companionship, and loyalty. The terror Daimon had been experiencing instantly disappeared as peace overcame him, there was no doubt in his mind that his father could pull them out of this situation and he did. He controlled the ship almost perfectly breaching through huge waves as if they were nothing, the storm persisted for hours until it finally broke and they made their way back to shore upon docking his father collapsed due to the strain and exhaustion place upon his body. Thankfully his father made a full recovery and was hailed a hero for surviving in one of the worst storms seen to date, sure he had lost one man however he had brought him and his son through the storm. Unfortunately, the ship was damaged beyond repair which didn't help with their monetary situation.

Thinking back on the memory Daimon infused those feelings into the strand of mana and felt as in changed while he shaped it to his while, and then the notification sounded.
Skill gained Beast tamer - Rare - Limit 2- success rate 20%.
New Law gained - Law of emotions - Level 1 - Basic
He was extremely happy that he had gained the skill and the new Law was a bonus, he made a promise there and then to find more information about laws, the fact that they could influence mana to create skills was amazing and worth looking into.
With the training done he retreated from his mindspace and found himself back in front of the python.
"Your learning speed still amazes me, to think that you could learn a new Skill and understand a new Law in such a short time is amazing, Although you humans are prone to emotions which may have sped the process up somewhat, anyways congratulations lets see if you can tame your first creature Albert said somewhat too excitedly."
With that idea in mind, he went up to the Burmese python and cast beast tamer, he felt the skill reach out into the python, infused with his emotions which tried to latch onto something within the python before fizzling out of existence, the skill had failed. "Albert is there a limit on how much I can cast the skill on a creature or can I keep trying".
"Ah I see you're getting smarter, yes there is a limit, if you fail too many times, the creature will become aware and a block will form in its conscience preventing your skill from taking hold for good, the limit is usually 3 attempts but it can vary depending on the target.
With the advice in hand he once more cast beast tamer, stirring up his emotions once more he added them to the strand of mana reaching out for the target, slowly it crept forward breaking down the Pythons barriers until finally, he felt the skill take hold.
Burmese python tamed
Congratulations for being the first on all worlds to tame a beast 2 skill perk granted.
Perk 1 Inner beast +10% success rate.
Perk 2 Beast Control +1 maximum tame slot.
The perks were amazing and he was shocked to find that he had been the first on all planets to tame a beast, Knowing that he had gained a 1st reward in the universe amazed him and granted him a little self-belief in the fact he was succeeding in his goals, the extra rewards helped as well, knowing that no one else could gain them.
Looking at his new pets extremely poor condition he went to the store and purchased a major healing potion with a good chunk of his Star credits, surprisingly he felt the potion being delivered straight into his partial pouch which now hung at his waste filled with the remaining coins, his bow, and the cores.
Pulling it out he gently poured it down the python's mouth and watched as his new companion's wounds quickly healed.
Stirring itself awake it rolled and stretched upwards, bringing itself within eye contact with Daimon. The Python creepily stared at him before silently stretching out its tongue and licking his face, afterward it slowly wrapped itself around his torse. Albert laughed and exclaimed that Daimon was wearing a snakeskin belt, which elicited a hiss from the python.
"Wait it can see you?" questioned Daimon.
Yes, we are both your companions which means all of us can sense each other and speak mind to mind, Although your new addiction seems a little slow in the mind department, it may take a few evolutions before it can speak.
Reaching out he now found that he could sense Albert and the Python. The python responded with raw emotion however one of which was hunger. Trying to check the creature's stats elicited no response from the system, all he had been giving was a description,
Burmese python Tamed - Rank rare - level 21 - A skilled hunter who has perfected the art of camouflage while utilizing the Law of poison to strike from the shadows, dealing significant damage overtime to its enemies.
Traits
-Extreme speed - basic
-Camouflage - Advanced
- Poisoner - basic
- Stealth - Basic
"Albert why can't I see all of its stats?
"Ah, you don't have the required perk to view its status screen you simply get the basic information for now. Perks become available at a certain level depending on the skill in question, there is no set pattern to the level you receive a perk at however your actions influence the perk selection, keep that in mind.
The python once more sent a hungry emotion into daimons mind,
Letting it down to feed he proceeded to check the rest of the loot and rewards.
