《Chosen by the Laws》Chapter 14 Farming

With the loot box in place, he began to line up his first mana arrow, aiming it directly at the Storm Kamori closest to the now active loot box, he released the arrow and watched as it sailed towards its target, it was a direct hit the arrow took the Storm Kamori right in the side of its thick neck and went down instantly. Thankfully the death was soundless and none of the other Kamori in the area noticed its companion's death. Daimon watched as the loot bot quickly scurried over to the still corpse, before quietly returning to its original spot. Feeling pleased that the idea worked, Daimon began to massacre the Kamori.
With their numbers slowly dwindling the poor creatures began to realize that something was wrong, finally, one of the Kamori glanced upwards and saw the mana arrow striking one of its brethren, with an almost muffled screech the smart creature alerted the rest of the pack to Daimon's presence. Numbering close to 100 they rushed straight towards the cliff face, all the while getting pelted by arrows from above. The unlucky creatures finally reached the bottom of the cliff face only to realize that unfortunately it could not be scaled, wasting time trying to figure a way to scale the face cost the group precious time as he continued to reap their lives. Finally deciding to turn tail and flee cost them even more lives as the arrows could reach a great distance.
By now he had killed scores of Kamori and the loot box was busy collecting the spoils, the screeches of the depleted Kamori ranks filled the surrounding area and unfortunately for Daimon, it was attracting trouble. Almost undetectable in the distance, a fast-moving gust of wind was approaching, the distance closed rapidly, and finally passed by the fleeing beasts.
By now his mana was running low, luckily he noticed a disturbance in the distance as the fleeing Kamori suddenly stopped and turned around. Ahead of the pack a much larger creature was rapidly bounding towards the battleground.
Daimon began to panic, using inspection on the beast revealed much-needed information.
Storm Kamori Beta level 24.
The creature compared to its younger brethren, looked deadly. The beast was roughly 8 feet tall, powerful muscles layered the creature in all the right places and 6 viscous black spikes jutted out from its back. "Hell if this is only a beta Kamori I hope there isn't an Alpha," screamed Daimon internally.
Hoping that the beast couldn't scale the cliff Daimon prepared to run for his life. As the beast reached the base of the cliff its back legs haunched as it released a mighty leap, sailing through the air the Beta Kamori reached halfway up the cliff which in itself was an amazing feat considering the sheer scale of the cliff, thankfully it's claws found no purchase and it fell back to the ground. Not willing to give up easily it tried the same tactic multiple times before giving up.
Not one to waste an opportunity Daimon was meditating calmly at the top trying to gain enough mana to slay the beast.
Still not willing to retreat the beast fell back 40meters away from the edge and patiently waited for Daimon to reappear, in its eyes a seething hatred for the one which slew its brethren was visible, and a cold aura permeated the atmosphere.

With his mana fully charged, he once more looked over the cliff and witnessed the creature's hatred. A sense of morale hit him hard, the need to kill to raise his level had pushed him to his current point, however, the anger in the Storm Kamori's eyes made him realize that he had just killed most of the poor beast's family. Thinking of the creatures as mindless beasts did little to alleviate his current moral dilemma as the raw emotions leaking out of the Kamori below proved that his assumptions were false. These creatures weren't created to be slaughtered, they were plucked out of some Planet and thrown into this mess just like he had. What made it worse was that he had attacked them unprovoked.
Caught up in his revelries he failed to see a spike pop out of the Storm Kamori Betas back and rush at him carried by a gust of wind. The spike flew true and impaled itself within Daimon's arm. The only inclination of the incoming attack had been a small gust of wind a second before the attack landed.
Pain assailed his senses as he looked down and saw a meter-long black spike ripping through his forearm and exiting out through the other side. The pain was unlike anything he had experienced before, forcing him to drop down to his knees screaming in agony which in turn saved his life as another spike sailed over his head.
Moments passed while his health recovered, slowly repairing the damage which seemingly hurt just as much as the initial attack as skin, veins, and bones regrew and butted themselves back together. What felt like hours passed before the pain abated and he regained his senses.
"What the hell was that?" Screamed Daimon to Albert, "you could have warned me".
"I am not your babysitter, pay attention to your surroundings and don't blame others for your mistakes" screamed Albert in return.
Listening to the reply pissed Daimon of even more, however, considering that it was his fault he took some time and calmed down.
"Apologies Albert my anger and pain got the better of me, I promise it won't happen again, could you please tell me what that was?
"Firstly stop trying to butter me up, take your mistakes and learn from them, or you are not going to survive out here, that was a skill, just like your mana arrows however the Storm Kamari imbued mana into its own body, in this case, the spikes on its back, and used the Law of wind to send a spike hurtling towards you which in reality is quite ingenious for a beast of low intelligence".
Daimon berated himself for losing focus in the middle of a battle and getting too confident, the Kamori showed him that he should never underestimate his opponent, and the pain he experienced would be a constant reminder that this was not a game, the pain was real and death was permanent.
All thoughts on morales were out the window this creature was about to pay. Checking his notifications showed Daimon that it had reduced his health by almost 30 percent, which was understandable considering the level difference.
"As long as I don't take a shot to the head I should be able to recover" assumed Daimon.

With that in mind, he once more bravely stood up and prepared to face the enraged beast. Soon viewing the landscape below Daimon spotted It, it stood in the clearing glaring up at him. Fully focusing on the creature Daimon got ready to dodge its first attack. Watching the spikes on the Kamori's back showed that it still had 6 which meant that they could regenerate. Suddenly a light blue glow tinted with a green hue appeared around the spike, the spike shot out and surged towards him at a breathtaking speed, fortunately now focused on the task Daimon rolled to the side and narrowly avoided the attack.
Skill gained level 1 Dodge: Rank Common, Increases your chance to dodge an enemy attack.
"Albert that green hue I saw before that was the law of wind you spoke of wasn't it?"
"Yes, it was" Replied Albert.
"I wonder if I study it long enough will I understand something from it"
With that idea in mind, he stood up and goaded the aggrieved creature into attacking rapidly. Studying the creature was showing no results until subconsciously he began sending mana towards his eyes to help them focus more. Suddenly the already beautiful world became brighter, more colorful, and in a sense more powerful.
Gained skill Level 1 Sensory eyes: Rank Rare. Grants the user's eyes the ability to view the structure of mana on a cellular level. Rare.
The ambient mana in the air became visible to Daimon's eyes, upon studying the Kamori's attack once he gleaned some insight into the attack and inspiration struck, "why didn't I see this before it's so obvious, the mana and laws don't combine into one they almost merge, however, it is more so an interaction, the mana contains the power while the law shapes and guides it".
Slapping himself on the head he sat down and quite quickly called upon his mana and Wind Law and shaped them together, The Mana took the form of his Mana Arrow, and the Wind Law formed around it, Daimon imposed his will on the Law and shaped it with one thought in mind speed.
Pulling out his bow and loading the new bolt into it he aimed at the Storm Kamori Beta and fired. The arrow almost flew faster than what Daimon's eyes could follow, fortunately as it was his first attack the beast had not been expecting it. The bolt pierced straight through the creature's midsection and ended up lodging in the creature's hind leg, the damage inflicted on its interior was immense and the bolt stuck in the creature's leg also hindered its movement.
Gained skill Level 1 imbued mana arrow: Rank Rare. Imbue arrows with currently possessed Laws.
Not willing to waste time he created and fired another arrow, this one took the poor beast in another leg forcing its frantic retreat to a halt, however, it still did not perish, another two shots later and the poor beast had fallen.
Daimon was glad as the new skill drained him much faster than his regular Mana Arrow. Sitting down he began meditating to quickly regain his mana. Meanwhile, on the ground, the Regular Kamori began to make a hasty retreat scared out of their minds.
The area was finally cleared however the corpses were going to draw hordes of enemies to the location, as the smell of death permeated the air.
Finally finished regaining his mana, Daimon noticed that smaller creatures were beginning to trickle in sensing the food in the area. After a short while, dozens of new beasts filled the clearing and had begun to fight over the food which in turn only led to more bodies, the situation was getting out of hand it was a free for all down there, in Daimon's unforgiving eyes however all he saw was experience and loot. The last time he felt pity for a creature it had almost killed him, forget morality this world was killed or be killed unfortunately it took a near-death experience to engrave it into his mind.
Slowing Daimon begins to farm enemies close enough for the loot bot to gather, while also being careful not to scare off the other creatures.
An hour of carefree farming passed until he noticed a cloud of dust appearing in the distance. Focusing he saw That the Storm Kamori which had fled earlier had gone for reinforcements and were now returning with their much bigger brethren.
Sounds from the opposite direction however gathered all of Daimon's attention as it was a sound which he had come to fear as a duo of rock giants were approaching.
By now the number of creatures in the clearing had grown to an enormous amount. Tens of species were either battling among themselves for the free food in the clearing or had already claimed and were peacefully eating their spoils. Checking the numbers Daimon guessed that 150 Kamori were approaching while the monsters in the clearing numbered roughly 200, not including the duo of Rock Giants approaching.
The group of creatures in the clearing sensing their impending doom quickly concluded that there was no escaping from the two forces' congregating on their position. Daimon watched as they grouped up and smartly put their backs to the cliff wall behind Daimon.
This group was filled with all types of creatures, towering Elk, small Rabbits, and other alien creatures unknown to Daimon. The most notable creature in the group was a Burmese python
Burmese python level 18
Despite its low level, the creature looked extremely dangerous, roughly 5 meters in length the creature was covered in black and pure red blotches down its back which he realized was weird considering this species of snake usually had brown blotches. Daimon had watched this snake defeat, countless opponents, in the kill zone before the disturbance happened.
The battle was about to begin, all groups were within 50 meters of each other and charging, the Storm Kamori took the lead splitting their large group into two forces 5 Alphas and a contingency of regular Kamori charged at the rock giant. While the rest moved to Engage the small army of creatures.

Don't actually know where I'm headed with this but thought it would be fun to try to get as far as I can. There is no set schedule whatsoever. Constructive criticism greatly appreciated.
