《Chosen by the Laws》Chapter 11 The Storm Arrives

Waking up the next morning Daimon was informed by Albert that 2 hours were remaining until the Tutorial ended, deciding to have a decent breakfast for the first time in a week, he activated his new watch and the system shop appeared.
Browsing the store for a while Daimon ordered himself Minotaur sausages and something called krass bacon. He had decided to fully embrace this new world, including the new delicacies involved, the meal had cost him 80 Star credits almost draining his funds, however, he felt that it was a worthwhile investment because this could very well be his last meal.
A few seconds after ordering the food appeared, the sausages were huge almost the size of his arm which was crazy, how could anyone eat this. The food thankfully came fully prepared. Taking out some of his remaining bread which to this day had remained fresh, he cut the meat down with his knife and created what Daimon dubbed as an alien sandwich, the leftover mean was saved, hopefully, it would stay fresh as well.
Upon consuming the meal Daimon was shocked to find that it tasted better than anything he had ever eaten before. The sausage was extremely juicy and packed full of flavor, the bacon surprisingly was spicy instead of salty which was odd, considering he was eating alien meat however he let it slide. upon finishing the meal a notification appeared.
Meal consumed Strength +2 Agility +2 Stamina regeneration + 10% buff lasts 8 hours.
"Eating food can give buffs Albert? Questioned Daimon.
"Yes a good chef is always welcome to any team when it comes to exploring and quests, some of the best legendary meals can grant 100s of stat points at a time however those only come from extremely rare creatures such as Dragon steak cooked in the undying flames of a phoenix.
"Dam I need to become a cook then," Said Daimon.
"It's not that easy, most need a teacher, however, you can buy manuals from the store to help with non-combat professions. Cook, Blacksmith, Alchemist, and a wide range of other professions become your subclass, which you can learn whenever you gain the required skills. Once your first subclass hits level 15 you can choose another, the money is also quite good considering you can sell your food in the store".
Browsing through the store once more Daimon was able to find a manual called A cook's guide to the basics, unfortunately, it cost 500 Star credits, he now had a total of 23 credits to his name, he would have to slay many creatures to earn the sum of money needed. The problem was, with his current strategy he could not loot the enemies he defeated due to the cliff, it was 20 meters in height, with his boosted stats it shouldn't be a problem however it was a sloped cliff, and it wasn't sloping the correct way for climbing, unfortunately.

The shop, fortunately, sold auto-loot bots which cost 200 Star coins for 24 hours of use which was pretty cheap, however, they had many flaws and was extremely basic,
Auto loot bot - After being placed gathers loot from enemies slain within 20metres of the original placement spot.
To use the loot bot, he would have to scale the cliff, place it and then climb back up to the cliff edge. A rope would accomplish this however with his increased weight from the extra strength and constitution it would have to be a strong rope.
The store thankfully was selling a reinforced rope for 80 Star credits, so all in Daimon needed to earn 280 Star credits before reaching the cliff edge.
"Albert, how do I sell things?"
"First open your watch and click on the sell button following this a scanner will appear, simply aim the Scanner at the item you want to sell and it will appear inside the hologram and give you some options to sell the product".
"Ok thanks" replied Daimon with a glint in his eye.
Gathering the remaining Pasque flowers, Daimon used the sell button on the hologram and 6 Pasque flowers disappeared from his world into a small box on the top of the screen.
3 options appeared
Sell to store; Auction; cancel;
The store price seemed extremely low at 20 Star coins each, the flowers, after all, are a brand new alchemy ingredient and their potential had not yet been discovered according to Albert so Daimon placed them up for auction with a starting price of 20 Star coins for 1 hour.
While waiting for the sale to hopefully go through it was time to check his gains from the previous slaughter.
Intelligence +3, Constitution +1, Willpower +5, Agility +1, Luck +1.
Level +3
Daimon was pleased and also somewhat frustrated when he saw his stat gains. Due to staying at range and not engaging in close combat, his physical stats saw a meager improvement, however, he was happy to see that his willpower had improved greatly and the 3 intelligence rewarded by the system was immensely beneficial. With 3 more levels gained it meant 3 more stat points, however, he had decided long ago not to spend them, Albert mentioned before that his body had a limit that would be hard to surpass, Daimon had a feeling that stat points were not part of that limit, so he would continue to save them until an emergency appeared or his limits were reached.
Next up came skill levels.
Skill level-ups Stealth +2, Inspect +2, Archery Mastery +3, Meditation +2, Mana Arrow +3 Mana Manipulation +5.
Mana Manipulation improved drastically due to combining the law of wind and mana within the core.

The note at the bottom shocked Daimon and made him realize the huge benefits gained by utilizing the laws. After promising himself to increase his training with the law of wind which had now risen to level 2 he glimpsed over the rest of his skill gains. The other skills had seen a noticeable improvement, the extra damage gained from his archery skills would help him bring down stronger foes, while Stealth would keep him more obscure and Mana Manipulation would give him better control over his mana. After a quick test shot of Mana Arrow, he found that it was much stronger than its level 1 counterpart, traveled farther and the cast time was reduced to 8 seconds.
Overall he was extremely happy, a lot of progress had been made and it showed that the plan had worked, however, he wanted to veer off the mage path, in a team environment he would be extremely strong, current circumstances meant that he was completely alone so focusing on magic only at this stage, would lead to his death.
With one hour left until the Tutorial ended Daimon decided to wait it out, having a quiet rest at the cave entrance he stared into the distance wondering what was to come. Eventually, Albert came over to have a chat.
"You should prepare yourself, Daimon, this world is about to change completely. I couldn't say much before however with it being so close now my limitations have been lifted and we can have a proper chat. First off you have been doing great and have achieved a lot in such a short time. I have been granted permission to stay by your side and keep an eye on you, I know, I know, don't be getting too excited" giggled Albert, which was followed by Daimon's groan.
"Now for the next part as I said this world is about to change, the scale of the planet will increase by at least 10 times, it has already been increasing this last week and the tutorial's end means it has finished. Please don't interrupt yet Daimon the big news is yet to come. The scale had to increase, as I mentioned before 4 races are about to descend onto this planet, humans are one of them, the rest I still cannot speak of however your planet Earth has now merged into the other 3 planets, think of it as a super planet the same thing is happening to hundreds of other galaxies in this universe. Your new planet has been designated as planet 135400 Rank F. It has no name, just a number naming rights come later as part of the reward for the new emperor, however that information is for another day". The final process is moving new suns and moons into orbited which is happening as we speak".
Looking up Daimon was shocked to find 2 suns hanging in the sky Albert informed him that two more resided on the other side of the new world.
" All that I can say, for now, has been said. You have ten minutes until the tutorial ends so be ready, pay attention and listen to every piece of information told to you by the system when the time comes.
Daimon was greatly confused by this and also worried about his family, weirdly he was also greatly excited the last week had almost been fun, apart from the near-death experiences the feeling of getting stronger was like a drug, and it was a new world he could become anything he wanted, do anything he wanted and most importantly become strong. With 10 minutes remaining, he sat patiently staring out through the cave entrance waiting for the new world to begin.
