Waking up the next morning, Daimon felt pressured with the knowledge that there was only one day left until the tutorial period ended. This was putting him under constant strain and fear of the unknown was weighing heavily on his mind.
Almost sensing his plight, Albert spoke up and told him not to worry too much and that the headstart he had gained would put him ahead of the pack. Pushing the dark thoughts to the back of his mind, he checked the gains from the previous day once more. What interested him the most was the Mutated Pasque flowers. Having seen hundreds of these flowers before the assimilation, he was confused as to how the change happened. Albert informed him that due to the integration, the ambient mana in the air was being absorbed by everything. Considering the change to the native animals of the planet such as the Rabbits he had killed yesterday, he began to understand.
Thinking about the ambient mana Daimon thought back to the greatest harvest from his trip yesterday.
Pasque Flower - Can be consumed to Increase Mana Regeneration
“Albert, how much would these be worth in the store?”
"Going by current store prices, each of these flowers could be purchased for 250 Star credits. Before you're surprised by the price, know that these flowers could be used in alchemy to create more potent mana potions. Most alchemy ingredients go for a sky-high price. These are relatively cheap as they aren't very potent; they should only be able to increase your regeneration rate by 20% for roughly 15 minutes."

"They will have to do Albert. I will take all the help I can get right now".
"What're your plans for today?" asked Albert.
"With the help of these flowers, I plan to focus on using the bow today. I saw a ridge yesterday and if I can get to it, I will have a perfect perch to create and fire mana arrows into whatever passes below without them being able to retaliate."
"Sounds like a good plan. Just know that whatever you kill will disappear after one hour" replied Albert
"Disappear?"
"You will see what I mean when the time comes" explained Albert.
After placing the coins earned yesterday inside his tent, having a small breakfast, and refilling his water, Daimon fixed the makeshift bow strap to his back and hung the compound bow to it, and strapped the knife to a makeshift sheaf on his thigh. With a plan set in motion, Daimon climbed to the top of the cliff and began making his way to the spot he had seen the day before.
Albert was excited by the plan proposed by Daimon. If it worked as intended, Daimon would be relatively safe while gaining great gains. "I should speak to the System about letting me stay here. I only have one day left before being recalled. This kid is going to be something special. I can feel it, his determination to survive is inspiring" Muttered Albert conspicuously.
Meanwhile, Daimon was using stealth to sneak through the tall grass lining the clifftop. Having stealth activated for roughly 15 minutes, he was happy to learn the stamina drain had been reduced, not by much, but enough that it was noticeable. Slowly he made his way past a group of Man-Eating Plants, thankful they were rooted to the spot which made it an easy task. After traversing the cliff top for another 10 minutes, he reached the spot. It was a little independent cliff edge, roughly 5 meters wide and 5 meters deep covered in tall grass which he could use to hide in. Approximately 25 meters straight down was an open plain filled with rocks, trees, and surprisingly more Pasque flowers. The purple petals now slightly tinged with blue due to the mana, which now permeated the delicate flower, stood out in stark contrast with the rest of the landscape which made them easy to spot.
This area would be his kill zone. Anything that entered his view from above would not leave this area. There was no way up to Daimons' perch unless the creatures scaled the 25-meter tall cliff ledge. Feeling confident and safe, Daimon entered a state of concentration as he patiently waited for his first victim to appear.

Not long after, a creature appeared. This creature shocked Daimon as he had passed hundreds of them grazing on the grasslands on his way up the mountain before the planet was transformed. Using Inspect the details appeared.
Big Horned Sheep level 12
"This is crazy," said Daimon. “Has all of the wildlife been changed, Albert?".
"Most will have gone through some sort of mutation, some however will be stronger than others. For example, this is a sheep, but how much stronger could it have become compared to your planet's already dangerous animals such as Lions, Sharks, and Rhinos?”
"That's not important. None of those are here Albert, these mountains however have tonnes of wildlife living on them like Buffalo, Coyotes, Elk, and many more dangerous creatures”.
Looking at the sheep which had stumbled into the kill zone, Daimon exclaimed, "this is considered non-deadly Albert? Its horns are almost longer than my arms and it's the size of a small car."
"You have no idea yet” giggled Albert.
Deciding that it was time to go for the kill, he started channeling mana arrow. The 12 second cast time passed before a gleaming arrow made out of mana appeared, placing it on the bow and drawing the string back, Daimon aimed at the big horned Sheep and fired. The shot sailed through the air before completely missing the huge Sheep. The shot had gone wide, the small explosion startled the sheep which promptly turned around and made a dash to safety. It was extremely fast and before he could conjure another arrow the sheep had escaped.
"Dam!” huffed Daimon. “This may be harder than I thought".
"I know. If only there were skills which made your accuracy better" replied Albert sarcastically.
Getting an idea from the sarcasm, Daimon checked his titles and there it was:
The first of many 10% boost to skill creation speed able to ask for one tip, on one skill per day
Immediately activating the title a message appeared:
Think of the skill you want and a tip will appear
Doing so, Damon thought about accuracy with the bow and suddenly the knowledge entered his head. It was almost as if he always knew the information and had simply forgotten how to apply it. The new knowledge simply showed Daimon how to send mana from his core into his eye in a strange pattern.
"Wow that was amazing,” said Daimon.
“The information is sent directly to your brain through the ambient mana in the air. Think of your brain as the receiver and the ambient mana as the transmitter” said Albert.
"Awesome, let's try and learn this new skill" exclaimed Daimon happily.
The knowledge didn't give him an exact idea of how to gain the skill, just a small tip. Quickly attempting to split his concentration as Albert mentioned before he simultaneously appeared within his mindspace. The real world acted almost like a background to what he could see in his mindspace and the effects of training mana within were much more impressive. He began to gather the mana inside his core into tendrils of power. Daimon guided the mana through his body and into his eyes. Messing up several times during the process, small backlashes occurred however Daimon controlled the mana and didn't lose focus preventing serious injury. When his mana ran low, Daimon activated meditation and consumed a Pasque Flower in the outside world to regain his mana. The process took an hour until finally, the new skill appeared.
Skill Gained Eagle eyes Uncommon level 1- When using a bow Accuracy +10% costs mana to activate.
With the skill currently active, Daimon focused on the area where the sheep had first been and found that his vision had been magnified. It was a great skill and seemed to be pretty cheap, as it only had to be active for a few seconds while he aimed.
Thanks to the skill hunting was now going to be easier, all he had to do now was wait for a target to appear.
A short ten minutes passed before the new prey showed up this time it was a creature which he did not recognize:
Ice Shroom level 8
The creature looked like a humanoid, 6 foot tall mushroom with limbs. Ice radiated from the monster's skin and its very presence lowered the surrounding temperature. However, strangely it didn't look like it came from this world. Questioning Albert he learned that it wasn't just the creatures from his world which had mutated the other 4 races' planet's wildlife, now occupied this land and had gone through a similar experience. The Man-Eating Plants were the best example of this pointed out Albert.
"Great mutated fungi monsters to contend with" sighed Daimon. With the background of the monster somewhat gained, Daimon activated Mana Arrow and Eagle Eyes, with the shot lined up on the human-sized mushroom Daimon released the arrow and watched as it sailed through the air towards the unsuspecting monster below.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
