《The Timebender》29. Larvae

Dale gave Adrian’s dagger to Axel so he could cut the left scythes of all the mantises they had killed. Between those from the outside, they had almost completed one of the quests. They had to obtain more scythes, thought.
It is true that they could have cut the arms later, but they decided to do it now as Mike needed some well-deserved rest. Adrian also appreciated the intermission. [Rampage] had refiled his stamina and mental power pools, but he still felt like he was sick. His body wasn’t tired, his mind was alright, but an oppressive sensation told him that he should take a break. Adrian thought of this like being rested but wanting to sit, just like you went across the IKEA and you wanted to sit on that cool-looking furniture. The difference being that he felt a bit forced to do so.
Even then, if Adrian wasn’t tired, he still had a wounded arm that hurt like hell. It wasn’t infected and they had covered with makeshift bandages, but he couldn’t take any risk. Nothing told them that there may be diseases that could infect him.
“Ooo…” Mike sighed as he grabbed his broken arrow.
“We can buy more.” Aby cheered him up. “There could be even better arrows at Czecheri.”
“Yeah, you are right.” Mike stored his arrow at his quiver even if it was split in half. He may have a use for it later.
Adrian got up and talked to the party. “We should get going.”
“Oh, shit,” Dale said and then hastily got up. “I forgot to pick the darts.”
Adrian watched him with a stern gaze and then sighed. “Get them fast.”
“Yes, sir!” Dale put his hand in front of his forehead and promptly got to recover his ammo from the dead bodies of the monsters.

Now that Adrian wasn’t a motorbike once [Rampage], he could appreciate the speed or the slowness. [Celeratio] made him faster, he calculated that a point was an equivalent of 10%, but he had no real way to confirm that data. If the aforementioned was true, Adrian was now moving almost 210% the speed of a normal person. This caused that he felt like a tortoise when he had to march along with the group. The Record helped him, but it was tedious, nonetheless. [Time Dilation II] now looked like a good [Skill], but for reasons, he hadn’t thought.
Only ten minutes of a party that had a 31.5% movement speed increase – if Adrian had done the calculations right, which he doubted – arrived at an open room. It was a poorly illuminated cavern, unlike the corridors. They couldn’t see where the place ended, but sure they did see what laid on the ground.
Hundreds of larvae filled the floor of the place. Some of them vibrated, while some were completely still. Adrian looked back at Aby. She appeared to be limiting herself, trying to not freak out like a maniac.
“That’s a fuck-ton of insects,” Axel commented as he tried to see the other side of the chamber. “There’s normally this many?”
“I think so,” Mike responded. “Insects tend to lay hundreds of eggs, and that’s just a couple. If I dare say, there should be a whole lot more.”
Dale looked at Mike. “Jeez, you’re a fucking wiki. First the tarot, then Latin, and now insect reproduction.”
“First one: I am interested in Tarot,” Mike started. “Second: I am somewhat good with languages. And third: didn’t you left the documentary channel and watch how to create a flying machine or something like that?”

“He never liked Discovery Channel.” Kayle responded instead of his brother.
“She’s right. I always got asleep five-minutes in.” Dale added. “What are we going to do now? There’s a lot of eggs here.”
“Larvae.” Mike corrected.
“Whatever.” Dale said.
“I am going to do the muscle head strat.” Adrian explained.
“And what is the muscle head strat?” Dale asked the Time Weaver.
“Axel give me your sword.” Axel handed his sword to Adrian. He instantly recognized it was a bad idea after he rose the two-hander with just one hand, but he continued. Then obliterated one of the larvae with a descending blow. “That’s the muscle head strat.” Adrian said as he pointed the exploded larvae with the sword.
“Axel approves.” Axel joked by talking like a caveman.
Level 1 [Larva Archimantis Homicida] has been slayed

You have earned 10 experience
“Is this an exp farm?” Adrian asked rhetorically after reading the Record message. “Someone wants to beat the piñata?”
“Ew, no.” Dale commented.
“It gives candy experience~.” Adrian said melodiously.
“You son of a bitch, I am in!” Dale said as he marched to the nearest larva.
Before Dale killed one of the defenseless baby mantises, Adrian stopped him. “Have you never heard the saying ‘ladies first’?” Adrian spoke and then looked to Aby and Kayle.
“Nononononno…” Aby disagreed instantly.
“You two are the ones who don’t have classes yet. You need it.” Adrian told a solid argument.
“How much experience do they give?” Aby asked while supporting his trembling body on her staff.
“Ten.” Adrian shortly said. Not only Adrian heard Aby grunting that moment, but also saw as his body complained in repulsion.
Axel, Mike, Dale, and Adrian laid on the walls – as they weren’t sure if to sit in that larvae-filled floor – while the girls were playing a really unfair game of Whack A Mole. There were hundreds of larvae, but as they only gave ten measly experience points, the real value of the massacre was only of a few thousand experience. That wasn’t much as Adrian needed two thousand experience points to level up, but surely it was enough so Aby and Kayle could obtain their classes.
Adrian reflected on casting [Time Dilation II] to swift the job but decided against it. ‘It may do things faster, but I will leach them of their much-needed experience’ was his thought on the matter. Judging by the fact that the girls were smashing a larva every five seconds with the staff and that they didn’t need to move much as the larvae were close to each other, Adrian calculated that they would spend a lot of time here.

Cornucopia of Hope
The graduating class of Hope's Peak Academy has been kidnapped sometime after their graduation ceremony. They wake up in a beautiful, plush mansion with no idea where they could be other than the name Our Mansion of Plenty. The physical barriers of steel plates and locked doors might not be enough to cage them, if it weren't for the malicious mechanical fairy calling itself The Fey and ruling their new lives with an iron--albeit tiny--fist. While being kidnapped is bad enough, the fact that this fairy brat is telling them to kill each other is definitely worse. Apparently, murdering one of your fellow victims is the only way to get out of this luxurious mansion. But nobody would do that...right? Cornucopia of Hope is a non-canon killing game completely alienated from the the canon universe of the Danganronpa games. The things borrowed from the games are as followed: Hope's Peak Academy, and the structure of 16ish hyper-skilled teenagers trapped in an enclosed space and being subjected to a motive, a murder, an investigation, a trial, and an execution of the presumed killer. There are no spoilers, tie ins, or previous knowledge required of the series to read this story!
