《The Timebender》15. Growing

[Skill Fusion] has finished.
Congratulations! For succeeding in the rare and difficult process that is [Skill Fusion] you have discovered a new type of skill: [Growing]. [Growing] skills will evolve along with the user, upgrading each time a milestone is reached.
[Court of the Broken King]: O, lord of time, you have done the impossible, reaching new heights that the ancient chronomancers couldn’t. [Celeratio] now reduces any cooldown the user might have and shortens the duration of crowd control effects. Consume a specific amount of mental power and stamina to walk between the time that has been broken. Inside the broken time, you are the only one who can move, this is absolute. Any damage within the shattered dimension will be nullified. You cannot affect any world, but the other worlds cannot impact you. Note: This [Skill] cannot be used until 50 [Celeratio] is reached.
Adrian now felt an immense touch of power within himself, time had now lost its importance. The effect vanished in an instant, his omnipotence gone. Adrian forgot about the feeling quickly and decided to open his [Status] and assign his points, not even trying to curse the Record for not letting him use his new [Skill]. Except that he kicked the nearest tree and started shouting things like ‘Then why the fuck you give the skill!’ or ‘Are you fucking kidding me?’ for two minutes straight.
Status
Name: Adrian Dewitt
Race: Homo Sapiens Hestia
Affiliation: Copper Guild Adventurer
Class: Time Weaver
Level: 5/20
Experience: 299/1400
[Fisica] 1 [Constituta] 1 [Destretza] 1 [Procesa] 1 [Experenta] 1 [Atravesta] 1 [Voluntat] 1 [Celeratio] 17.95 [Fortuna] 1 [Titles] [Skills] [Min-maxer] [Court of the Broken King] [Ultimum Celeritas] [Fast Stab] [Assassinate] [Time Magic]
Before returning with the party, Adrian decided to try his new [Ultimum Celeritas] at its maximum power. Suddenly all stopped. ‘What the fuck’ Adrian thought as he couldn’t feel his body. Time no more flowed, the river of events stopped, not even an instant was happening. A single frame of the universe was before Adrian as he couldn’t move his eyes. He deactivated the increased time perception.

“Not cool…” Adrian told himself, breathing hard as he never had breathed for years. He now felt the absolute power that was time. “Okay, second round!” Adrian recovered fast and tried to use [Ultimum Celeritas] one again. This time Adrian only slowed significantly the pace of time. Even though he couldn’t move, there wasn’t the ominous feeling like when the time had vanished. The world became blue as light had a difficult time moving through the air. Because Adrian lowered this much his time perception, now he could see a specific frequency of light were only the color blue existed. ‘Cool’ was his only thought.
Adrian suddenly felt exhausted, not physically, but mentally. He hadn’t used any mental power while activating [Ultimum Celeritas], but he felt tired, nevertheless. Between fighting monsters, all day long and still haven’t eaten anything; his body accumulated a lot of stress.
“I should stop playing and going back with the boys.” Adrian said as he grabbed the sack of food and the pair of cloaks. “I hope they managed to make a campfire.” Adrian sighed as he started walking upstream.
Adrian thought he was moving slowly just because his brain did move slower at the moment, but in reality, he was going a lot faster than walking speed as he now had almost eighteen points on [Celeratio]. The increase seemed minimal, but it was stacking up.
One thing that Adrian did like about his new class is that he no longer had an awful sounding [Title] like [A-celeratioed]. Instead, he has now one a cool, badass one. Sure, it was more powerful, but he liked more the name change. While following the river, Adrian meditated about his time perception, ‘If I can literally change my time perception to whatever value I want, then how is [Procesa] useful at all?’ Adrian was right, [Procesa] measured the mental processes that one could make, so if he did modify his perception to uncanny levels, [Procesa] user couldn’t even phantom his train of thought. That notion was a really juicy one, and also Adrian now felt sorry for Aby and Kayle.

Adrian made it to the encampment, the party managed to make a campfire. But he thought that appearing normally would be boring. Taking advantage that the sun was almost set at Mundompio (or whatever the star’s name was), Adrian sneaked from behind. He now regretted not grabbing any mantises’ legs, because he now came with a great idea. Adrian moved slowly, even for his standards, staying occult in the shadows. Without even breathing, Adrian approached Aby from behind and shrieked at her left ear.
“Arghhh.” She jumped up from the ground to later fall on her bum. “Get them out from my sight!” Aby started hitting the air like there were wasps bullying her.
Everyone now looked at Aby who was rolling like a tumbleweed and Adrian who had a huge grin on his face.
“Should we tell her?” Kayle whispered to her brother.
“Nah, let her bee.” Dale told her.
“Your jokes suck.” The sibling commented while watching her party member hit invisible enemies.
“A good joke worms a person’s heart.” Dale continued with his game.
“I hate you.” Kayle answered honestly.
“She really has a strong entomophobia.” Adrian joined them. “I mean,” he pointed at Aby “that shit ain’t normal.”
“Aby! There are no insects nearby!” Mike was the one who finally talked to her.
Aby stopped wiggling and looked at her surroundings. Her face became a hot red but later fixated her eyes onto Adrian. She stood up without saying anything and picked up her staff. Then proceeded to obliterate Adrian’s crotch with a low blow.
“I- didn’t see- that coming…” Adrian fell to the ground, moaning in pain.
“Thanks for the food.” Aby told him coldly as she started searching the bag and grabbing a loaf of bread and dried meat.
“Oh! Food!” Kayle jumped with excitement while ignoring Adrian’s body squirming in agony.
