《The Timebender》1. Summon

Rays of sunlight filtered through Adrian's glasses, he found himself cursing the mask that fogged his vision. He didn’t matter the actual state of the world, he already accepted a long time ago that things happened, and his mood shouldn’t be affected by it.
At least he had a job. Not a lot of people could tell that in these times. He considered himself a liberal thinker, deviated from common sense, but not by much. Thoughts like communism is good in theory, bad in practice; or people can do whatever they want with their bodies were common occurrences in the retorted thinking field that was his mind. That was obviously magnified by the epidemy that was assaulting the world at the moment. A prove that history repeated itself one more time.
Working as a delivery man was a tedious job, and now, a busy one. Every household was buying a lot of their luxuries from the web, but he couldn’t help to agree with them. Those people were the ones who gave him a job when he was crippled by student credit. Maybe an irresponsible thing to do at times like this, but job positions were highly required now.
His turn had finished, now the sun was setting, and he sat at the ground of a park which he didn’t know the name of. Another man had the same idea as him. The man sat on a bench in front of Adrian. He found himself sighing, it wasn’t because of exhaustion, but nostalgia as the man looked like a student. Sometimes a person just needed a moment to rest and breathe, sometimes times weren’t right…
Welcome, Player! You were selected randomly through the Arcane Records to participate!
Adrian was… calm. He first saw a blue screen in front of him, but that wasn’t the problem. The park where he was just vanished in a blink and now he found himself in an infinite-looking white room, no horizons to be seen. No thought flew through his head other than…
“What the f-“ His voice was silenced without his consent.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Adrian cried, without being sure pf who or what he was talking to.
“What the BEEP does that mean?” He cried once again. Adrian did notice that his voice had been substituted by a beeping when he tried to swear. “BEEP, go back!”
Bad word filter disabled.
“Hmm…” Adrian stayed pensive once the blue box vanished. “Fuck y’all!” He swore just to prove if the beeping was gone, and also because he felt like crying. “Okay” Adrian took a deep breath. “What the fuck.”
Welcome, Player! You were selected randomly through the Arcane Records to participate!
The message repeated itself once more when Adrian recomposed.
Your [Status] will be shown to you once you allocate your [Base Statistics]
“Wait a second…” Adrian called the message. “I think you are going a bit too fast; don’t you think? I understand that there is something about an Arcane Records, but could you at least explain to me, I don’t know… Why the fuck I am in this room?” Adrian cried while pointing to the floor he was standing on. “That, that would be appreciated, thank you.”
An instant later the Records answered back.
Welcome, Player! Do you wish to play a brief tutorial?
“Fuck yes, god, thanks!” Adrian was crying with joy, and he did not know why.
Many of the race Homo Sapiens Hestia from planet Earth, stellar system Sol, have been summoned to Mundompio to be adapted to the Arcane Records.
Perfect, thought Adrian. He now was more confused than before. Being summoned to another world, some divine entity, the fact that it said stellar system and not solar system… In the end, Adrian decided to keep reading the notifications.
The Arcane Records now hold influence over planet Earth, therefore, some Homo Sapiens Hestia have been moved to Mundompio while Earth finishes its record-forming. As a member of Homo Sapiens Hestia, or colloquially known as Humans, you are now to be reformed by the Arcane Records. BEWARE: This is a mandatory process and you have no opinion whatsoever.

'Free will? Nah, that’s a joke.' Although Adrian founded in a situation like this, he couldn't avoid joking. That little brief of information gave him a whole lot more information than he expected. But still, he was in the dark.
Now, proceed to assign your [Base Statistics].
The message from the Arcane Records was replaced for a table full of information. Game-like statistics appeared in front of him.
Ten [Base Stat Points] remaining:
[Fisica]: 0/10
[Constituta]: 0/10
[Destretza]: 0/10
[Procesa]: 0/10
[Experenta]: 0/10
[Atravesta]: 0/10
[Voluntat]: 0/10
[Celeratio]: 0/10
[Fortuna]: 0/10
“These names sound… false?” Adrian said to himself while looking at the skill table. “All of them feel like Italian or a weird as Latin. Except [Fortuna], that looks real. It isn’t Fortune?” Adrian said while examining again the table. “Record? I think I should call you Record, shorter you see. Record, could I get more information?”
[Fisica]: Measure of how physically strong you are.
[Constituta]: Measure of how resilient and sturdy you are.
[Destretza]: Measure of how agile and precise you are.
[Procesa]: Measure of your mental-processing.
[Experenta]: Measure of your knowledge and insight.
[Atravesta]: Measure of your attractiveness and persuasion.
[Voluntat]: Measure of your mental resistance and soul stability.
[Celeratio]: Measure of quickness and time perception.
[Fortuna]: Measure of luck and fate.
Adrian read the new table, not once, not twice, not thrice, but three times until he decided that he couldn’t understand it. This wasn’t enough information to dictate a choice.
“How can you measure these things?” He asked once more to no one in particular. “[Fisica] and [Constituta] still, but [Procesa] and [Experenta] how? It’s measured like an IQ test? And what happens if I assign a point to [Experenta]? Do I get knowledge? that? These descriptions are worthless!” Adrian sighed, he already accepted that he couldn’t escape, but the Record did not put it easy. “This looks like D&D stats, more or less.” Adrian was a fan of these old forgotten games. “I can find Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma. Some of them just a bit modified. But what happens with [Voluntat], [Celeratio] and [Fortuna]? [Fortuna] is easy, just Luck from any RPG. [Voluntat] is probably Willpower. Maybe. I don’t know what soul stability means. Still remains [Celeratio], tho.”
Adrian stood there, thinking before assigning any [Base Stat Points]. He tried asking the Record for more information, only to be responded with silence.
“So… is [Celeratio] Celerity? Like from WoW? The words look alike. If I remember correctly, Celerity increases your character movement speed and reduces your cooldowns, it this what this means?” Suddenly, Adrian was answered.
[Base Stat Points] are a multiplier of the Player’s future [Stats].
NOTE: If a stat is left with points unassigned its base value will become 1:1
“You could have said that earlier!” Adrian cried to the skies. “If that’s so, I can max a stat and the rest will be set to 1 automatically, or that is what I understand?” Adrian meditated for a second. “Yes! Maxing is the best strategy, it’s maximum efficiency! The question is what to choose?”
[Base Stat Points] dictate the base stat line from the Player. Growth may be different depending on your choice. The ten points gifted at the tutorial won’t be the norm upon leveling up.
Adrian thought for a long time. He did not want to max physical stats, he wanted to be something like a mage. [Atravesta] didn’t seem to work exactly like Charisma, and he wasn’t sure of [Experenta]’s knowledge. [Fortuna] was tempting, but he finally decided. The fact of moving at insane speeds and reducing cooldowns was absolutely tempting.
Are you sure you want to assign all your [Base Stat Points] to [Celeratio]?
“Yes,” Adrian affirmed calmly. And so, his [Status] was revealed. A blue screen filled with his personal information.

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
