Ch 09

Now that I finally had the resolve to leave the Clan and Aki is clearly supporting me, what I need to do next is ensure that I will be able to support my endeavors.

Hunting down beast may be a way to gain quick money, which is by the way called Ren. However as much as it can provide a decent amount of money, the appearance of mutated beast are uncommon and therefore makes hunting an unstable course of income.

Thinking about the possible ways I can earn money, I finally came up to the conclusion that I need to start my own business.

However setting up a shop in a city would be a far too boring, so I decided that I would become a traveling merchant. Becoming Traveling Merchant is the best way to earn money while also getting to explore the world. Another perk of a Traveling Merchant is that I can get a free pass to any clan village.

However there are certainly lots of travelling merchant so I would need to have an edge against them. I have to sell something unique so people would actually buy from me.

To set up my own, land I first need to have the money to actually sustain not only myself but my future people so with that logic I am going to be an established merchant first before I can build my very own village and if possible a city.

As I browse my memory from my past life, the only thing that stoods out for me is either related to Engineering or Cooking. However I don't want to start the industrial revolution in this world so using my Engineering knowledge is a no go.

Since this world is basically similar to japan, there are many cousines missing. Almost all food in this Warring Era is bland. I observed from the villages that hired us to hunt mutated beasts that the food they consume is mainly plain rice and berries. They are in a constant cycle of farming a little amount of rice then being plundered by bandits.

We were just lucky that we are from the Uchiha Clans since we can eat meat everyday because of how strength and numbers of ninjas in our clan.

Aki can even atest that the simple meals that I gave her were amazing when in truth is that I was unable to fully display my cooking skills that was honed for a gold decade in my previous life.....Wait a minute! I think I finally know what I can create without propelling this world to the industrial age!

Since I can't create gunpowder since that would mess up this world even more, I can't pave the way to automobiles since I know that someone out there would create a weapon out of it.

However if I create appliance that are only applicable for cooking it wouldn't affect how battles are fought in this war torn era.

"Hey Aki, do you remember my plan?"I asked as we relaxed in the house

"Yup, so when are we going to do it? I mean it has already been 3 months since you told me that plan." Aki asked as she suddenly went serious from her relaxed state

"I know that you noticed tha I have been using up my saved money right?" I asked with a smile

"Indeed so brother. I noticed that almost all your share in our vault was used up and I was worried that you might have been addicted to gambling." Aki said with concern

"Hahaha, don't you worry Aki. I am not addicted to gambling or anything. In fact I used up all my money for us to be able to make more money. I have forbidden you from going in the basement because I am creating the things that would make us money." I said as I dragged Aki towards the hidden entrance of the basement I made

The Vault that Aki was telling earlier is technically just a glorified drawer with a dial lock. I asked a stonesmith in a random village to make me a box from volcanic rock which is known for its hardness.

The basement on the other hand was a project that I finished back when I was 9 years old. It is a decent room underground that I fortified to prevent anyone from discovering it.

"So that's it? Those blocks of metal will make us money? Are you sure you are not sick in the head?" Aki asked with great doubt as she laid her eye towards my master pieces

That's right! I made a wide array of electrical appliances for 3 months straight. What Aki was referring to as blocks of metal are Electric Oven with an Electrive stove on its top.

While the other appliance is the Refrigerator, however unlike an electric refrigerator I just engraved a jutsu that circulate chakra inside it. It uses the Chakra cycling inside it to power up the engrave jutsu that I put inside it.

I applied the idea of making Water Chakra and turn it into a constant ice box. By absorbing Chakra from the environment, the already frozen water act like an unmeltable ice.

While the so called metal block is an Lightning Rod setup together with a decent size of Electricity storage. All I need to do is hit it with a simple [Lightning Release] and it would be powered up.

"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, my dear sister. How about I explain how the three 'blocks of metal' work." I said as I walked towards the refrigerator

*slaps the top of the refrigerator* "This bad boy right here is what I called as Ice Box. Its main purpose is to maintain food for a longer duration of time." I said as I opened the Ice Box and showed her the frozen meat that I put there 2 weeks ago

"You do remember that this meat is the mutated duck meat that we had 2 weeks ago. As you can see, it is still not yet spoiled due to the freezing of this Ice Box. Normally a meat can spoil in a matter of days but with this thing right here, the shelf life if food can be extended." I said with a smug tone which clearly impressed Aki

"Do you know the impact that that thing can do?! And you are telling me that the other two blocks of metal are actually amazing things?!" Aki exclaimed as she put her hand inside the Ice Box and felt the cold temperature inside it

"Indeed my dear sister! These thing right here are not metal blocks. These are what I called as machines." I declared as I went towards the Electric Stove

I turned the switch and it started heating up. "This right here my dear sister is what I called Electric Stove. It is powered by Lightning release towards the machine besides it. That one is called as Electric Storage, and it stores the power that this Electric Stove use."

"WOW! THESE MASHINES ARE AMAZING!!" Aki exclaimed as she see the use of the things I made

"Haha, it is not Mashines. It is the pronounced as Ma- from mama, and Shins as in the body oarts. So if you pronounce it, it would read as Ma-shins." I laughed before I went back to my serious mode as I contemplate about the hardships I have to do before these things came to fruition

I hand molded the components of the three machines and I almost failed in making the Electric Stove worked due to me getting rusty from lack of practice.

Back on Earth, I studied all about electrical appliances since it can come in handy if any of my appliances break. It became a a minor hobby of mine to find out how the everyday machines we use work.

I remade an old version of an Electric Stove and Oven since that was that thing I actually have the experience if crafting. Although I know how the newer Stoves and Oven Works, it would be a waste to pick apart a brand new stove and oven just to put it back together with the risk of actually not being able to make it work again so I just made do with an older model which is cheaoer to buy.

As for the Ice Box, it was the easiest thing to do from the three since I just needed to engrave the jutsu inside it. It was a jutsu considered useless by its creators since it was supposed to be a copy of the Yuki Clan's [Ice Release]. Like how the saying goes 'One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure' and it became a treasure in my hand because that useless jutsu became the heart of the refrigerator that I made which I called Ice Box

"The things that we need to do is to know the truth about Father's mission, Leave the Clan, Make a new identity, and finally start our business for now. The establishment of the place where our ideals can come true will need to be done later since as we are righy now, our effort wouldn't amount to anything on the changing if this world." I said after I finished my remeniscing about the past three months

Aki just nods her head with a wry smile.....

*Wait a minute.. wry smile? Why would she have a wry smile when my plan is so brilliant....my plan...MY! So that's why she force herself to smile and agree! I never asked for her opinion. I was going on and on about my plan but I never asked what she wants to do.* I realized as I observed Aki's mannerism

"I am sorry Aki!" I immediately shouted while bowing my head as I finally realized my short comings towards her

While I might be a grown man inside, Aki is still a liitle girl at the age of 12. She shouldn't be weighed down by a plan like this and instead play around and enjoy her youth.

"Wa..wa...What are you askibg sorry for Sai?" Aki asked with confusion about my sudden apology

"I have been pushing my plans to you... but I never even asked about what YOU wanted to do. I am sorry if I acted bossy towards you. So I am asking you right now, what do you want to do?" I said in an apologetic tone

"I...I.. I actually just want to stay... I don't want to be separated with our friends and family." Aki finally said after a moment of silence

"I can see where you are coming from my dear sister...if that's the case, I am the only one that would be defecting from the Clan. I would use the reason that I do not liked how the Clan hid the truth about Father's situation. I am going to be make my a new identity and I promise you that I am going to come back." I replied as I contemplated and adjusted my plans

"Thank you brother for understanding my decision. I have been thinking about that for awhile and I am too afraid that you would be disappointed in me since I wanted to back out from your plan." Aki said as she hug me

"Are you stupid?! Why would I be disappointed with you?" I whisphered as I hugged her back

"So what do you plan to do while I am gone?" I asked as we break away from our hug

"I am probably going to be a guard in the Clan. I am far too inexperienced to be considered as an elite. Sensei already told our team that we will only be deployed during defense of the our village or when we are in a total war. She also told us that we are only needed to perform a hunt once a month. She also told us that the truth is that we are only A Ranked ninjas if we are together with our team, however if we are alone most of us are truly B Ranked." Aki said with a vibrant smile which is a far cry from her wry smile earlier

"That's good! I want you to take care of yourself and mother! As much as possible, I wish that you decline any dsngerous missions. If I heard that somehow those old fogies made you do a dangerous work without your consent, I will make sure that they suffer." I said as a bit of ominous aura leaked while I was smiling

"Hahaha, of course I am going to take care of myself silly brother. Sensei already showed us what she do and our team decided to stay together." Aki said while smiling

So with Aki's decision, I am now going to face this world alone. I was also worried about her safety since I might get into dangerous situation later on so her staying within the protection of the clan is a good thing in itself.

*Just you wait Aki! You will see your brother rise up to power!* I thought with determination as we were going up from the basement
