Space Ex #8

Attending school was fun. Although it is a bit awkward when I arrived, I was able to adapt easily in the school. There are some pretentious brats in our class who acts as if they are invincible since they have good background but I simply just steer away out of their ways to prevent any unnecessary problems.

I also immediately joined the club where Ruby is so that I can monitor her easily. She is the president of the cooking club so I wholeheartedly joined the club the moment the I saw the word cooking.

After weeks of befriending her, I was finally able to talk to her without being ignored. She seldomely open up her emotions to others based on my observations. She only have few friends, all of which are devils.

The activities of the fallen angels has been getting higher in frequency and I was even able to squeeze out information about the plans of Kokabiel.

My proficiency in magic has been getting better due to combat experience. While I was able to kill quite a number of Fallen Angels, there are still some that was able to escape due to my carelessness which gave me the nickname of 'Phantom Devil'.

I was also able to witness how strong Ruby's peerage during their battles against fallen angels.

Her Queen, Helen Ajax, is an expert magician who came from a family of magician from Greece. She is specialized in using elemental magic and have a Chaos Gear called [Rho Aias]. It is a seven layered shield which can sustain heavy damage.

She have twin bishops, Angeni and Catori, who are from America. They are experts in shaman magic and have complimenting element. They have the opposite elements of each powers and can use deadly combinations of magic.

She also have a rook ,Nuo Hu, from an almost eradicated Tai Chi family. Although her rook doesn't have a Chaos Gear, she is an expert in using Qi which can easily defeat a magician or anyone due to the boosted power that it grants.

While her knight is from the Philippines, Maria Talim, and uses the Chaos Gear [Dagger Birth]. She is from a family who inheritted the martial arts Kali. She is expert in agility and can easily use her Chaos Gear to slash opponents multiple times in seconds.

However, Ruby currently do not have any pawn as of yet and she seemed to took a liking to me. She even gave me a paper with a magic circle from the Gremory Clan.

It is commonly used to make deals with devil with the premuse that the one holding it have a huge wish for something.

All of Ruby's peerage are female and are members of the cooking club. Which was very lucky for me since they are skilled in different cousines from their home country. So I was able to savor different dishes everyday.

With my spare time, I train my chaos gear. Aside from fighting, I also deploy my chaos gear at home. I also go to Fenrir every now and then to show my progress and see if I can use [Balance Breaker] and sadly I was informed that I reached a bottleneck in my training.

I can now naturally use [Ulfer Konunger] and deploy the sharp claws which easily pierce the light shields deployed by fallen angels.

It is very convinient but I still suffer some damage every now and then. Even with my Martial Arts training back in the ship, I could still be hit or damage by magic attacks which was never included in my training before.

"Okay Augustus, I have an offer for you." Ruby said as the other members of the club locked the doors and windows

"What is it, Ruby?" I asked with a polite tone as I finish the snacks that they made earlier

"Do you believe in devils?" She asked seriously as she took a seat infront of me

"Well, not really. I believe that devils are just entities made up by humans to induce a desired effect. They sometimes use the devil to scare people. They might also use devils to justify their actions. So for me, I believe that devils are fictions made up by human minds for their own convenience." I said with seriousness

"You have some unique views. However, I am still offering you a chance to be a devil." She said with a tempting smile

"What? Me, a devil? Hahaha stop day dreaming Ruby." I mockingly said so that she wouldn't suspect that I am already a devil

"Believe it or not devils are true. They have been blending in the society for a long time." Nuo said while deploying her wings

"Hahaha.Wow, you really have nice props but you can now drop the act." I laughed with an indenial tone to prevent suspicions

"I know that it is hard to accept but I want you to know that I would love to have you under my lead." Ruby said sincerly as she looked at me with an anxious expression

I went ahead and touched the wings of my chinese underclassman. Nuo is a cute and playful chinese girl. She have an average height of a Chinese and B cup breast. She is very slender and sexy with right curves. She is 5 foot 5 inches tall and is very athletic.

I did this act to show that I am doing a reality check and see if the wings are real. The others also deployed their wings and allowed me to trace their wings.

Helen is a very voluptous Greek girl who have D cup breast which match with her height. She is as tall as Ruby which is around 5 foot 9 inches.

My height is 6 foot 4 inches which is quite tall here in japan since the average height is 5 foot 7 inches.

The Twins, Angeni and Catori are twin blonde girl with a brownish white skin tone. They have C cup breasts, have a curvy body and is 5 foot 5 inches tall . They have similar body type and height which made them hard to tell apart from each other. But due to my abilities and the help of Greed, I can easily tell them apart based on their energy and smell. I am not a pervert but I have an enhanced sense of smell which can help me distinguish others like a dog.

Lastly, Maria,is 5 foot 3 inches tall with B cup breast. She has a very thin frame which gave her the agility that she can accomplish. She have a brown skin and dark eyes.

They are all gorgeus and are easily dream women for many men. I became closer to them due to our passion of cooking which surprised me since I assumed that they would be arrogant and cold like Ruby.

"Let me think about it for now." I said with a serious expression as if I am thinking about the pros and cons of being a devil

"Look, I know that it may be a hard decision for you but I really want you in my peerage. How about this. Carry these chess pieces all the time and if you are ever in danger, think about being a devil." Ruby said as she gave me 8 pawn pieces before leaving together with everyone

*Hey Greed, can you see the king chess piece inside my soul? If you see it can you take it out?* I asked while holding the pawn pieces

*Yes Master, there is a King inside your soul. It isn't binded to your soul so it is easy to remove.* Greed said before my chest started shining

A King chess piece with many colors intertwining appeared out of my chest before falling down to my palm.

I felt some of my powers were sapped out and my vision started to get blurry but I immediately ordered Greed to normalize my body immediately.

I walked back to my house and rested for a couple of hours before trying to adapt with my current condition.

My physical power and magic control were brought down a whole new level but I felt something else inside me. I felt as if there is a lock which has been removed from me and that I can still improve.

Since my powers were nerfed for now, I decided that I would create a scenario which would benefit both me and Ruby.

So I took out the Chaos Gear which was according to Jariel was [Twice Critical] and slapped it down to my right wrist.

A searing pain ran through my body which seemed to disregard my physical powers and directly attacked my soul.

"@#/# !/^":!##SHIT! Greed, is something happening in my soul?! ARRGGhhh #@##!!*$" I shouted as I rolled around in my room

*Yes Master,there is indeed something happening to your soul. You see, your soul Master looks like this. There is a copy of your physical form inside you which is your soul. The space where Master Fenrir is, is inside that person. Which have the [Úlfr Konunger] equiped. Just like the [Úlfr Konunger], a Golden gauntlet appeared in the right arm of your soul. Which is the reason why you are feeling such pain now. Even if I turn off the pain receptors inside your body, you will still feel pain.* Greed explained which I barely understood before I passed out

"Fuck that hurts!" I shouted as I woke up with still some pain in my right arm

I unsummoned the [Úlfr Konunger] or simply [Fenrir Gloves] before trying to summon the [Twice Critical].

I needed the [Twice Citical] to act as my decoy Chaos Gear. I know that Ruby and company already noticed the Chaos Gear that I use when I am at Phantom Devil mode. So having this Chaos Gear would eliminate any chance which would like me and my Phantom Devil persona.

I totally have no idea about the extent of the power of this Chaos Gear and how this Chaos Gear works. So I just deployed it and ordered Greed to release the special aura of the Chaos Gear. My plan is that I would attract a fallen angel with my Chaos Gear and fight him/her.

After I sustained some damage, I would absorb all eight pieces so that it would seem that the conditions are met.

To use an evil piece, a human must be dying. So if I absorb the pawn pieces without any damage, it would be way too suspicious. Plus evil pieces also have an induction function which can let anyone in a peerage to feel where they are and what their health status is.

So if I am damaged badly, Ruby and the others would feel it which would make the situation probable and believablr. They would probably teleport where I am so I should have as much blood as possible.

It is already 10:00 which means I was passed out for 5 hours. It is already dark outside which means that it is already the time where Fallen angels and devils are active the most.

Unfortunately for me not everything goes as planned, there are no Fallen Angel in the city right now. I guess its one of those days where Fallen Angels do not move. I noticed that every once in a while, there would be days where no Fallen Angel could be seen.

"RRAAAAARRGGGGGHHH" a loud roar came out of the park alongside screams of people which sounded absolutely terrified

I immediately ran to the park and equipped Greed immediately. Using spatial magic, I teleported to the tower located in the park.

Overlooking the park which is already wrapped in a space field far different from those that was deployed by devils or fallen angels. I saw a group of towering humanoid giant creatures with red skin.

*Fuck!, are those a group of Oni?!* I shouted mentally as I saw that they are hunting humans and eating them in the cruelest way possible. I even saw a leg hanging from the mouth of the creature.

They haven't noticed me yet but they are really vigilant like they are protecting something. So I didn't blindly charged in to save the humans that were trapped in the park.

I am no saint and I know that I can't save everyone. However I would atleast let them have a higher chance to escape.

I sent a ball of destruction which is weaker than usual but is still capable enough to blast a building down to the opposite direction where the scared people were running.

A loud explosion was heard seconds after which immediately attracted the giant monsters. So with a diversion, I sneaked deeper to the location which seemed to be heavily guarded while allowing civilians to escape.
