《The Forgotten Angels》Chapter 6

After returning to the throne room, I stood at the back of the chamber, started flipping through pictures of sentient races around Veridian. After flipping through the various races of humans, orc, dwarf, and demons, I went with a magnificent High elf for my avatar. Set the height at just under six feet. Grew my hair down to my waist, made it pure white the same as Amelia’s, and gave me an exquisite voice. Okay, that last one wasn’t intentional kind of happened that way.
Sally came in to help with the clothes. She designed a pristine white loose silk robe that completely hides the body as I didn't bother to give my avatar breasts or reproductive organs. We mostly Sally, since I don't really know any useful magic. (Unless burning or etching wards and glyphs on people and objects counts.) I placed my core in a broach that hung around my Avatars neck. I supplied the metals, though I absorbed a lot in all the debris mixed into the ground around my dungeon. When she finished, Sally sighed and remarked. “Nobody would steal such an ugly piece of jewelry.” (Personally, I think it looks rather nice.)
After a good couple of hours of lectures on interacting with others, I decided that was enough. It’s time to meet my uninvited guest. I took one step and immediately fell and smacked my forehead on Rocky’s throne. Sally started giggling, hunched over, holding her sides. Until I spoke in her mind, saying. “I think my body is unconscious.”
Sally zipped forward, looked at the spreading pool of blood, and called for Tayna to help. Tayna came flying in, immediately followed a few seconds later by a now fully dressed Amelia.
Amelia was looking around warily from the doorway when she noticed Rocky. She flinched back, but since he didn't make a move only peered at her curiously, she calmed down and gave a tentative wave. Rocky waved back, making her smile. Apparently, Tayna had been explaining things to the girl this entire time.
When she saw the woman lying unconscious, she glanced around again before running forward, grabbing a cloth thrown her way by Tayna. As she held the material to the wound on the women’s head, she kept looking to the back of the room where she could have sworn a statue of the lord of chaos had been; while listening to Sally explaining what transpired.
A moment later, Tayna sighed in relief, then stared at the broach. “why are you so silent?.”
“Would my interrupting help any,” I asked, puzzled? To which Tayna just exhaled. “I am curious about what happened to me. Why did my body suddenly fall unconscious?”

Both fairies rolled their eyes. Tayna replied. “You're lucky a blow like that didn’t kill you. After all, you are only level one.”
Confused, I wonder what she meant by level one. “I am a dungeon; I do not have levels,” I state.
During all this, Amelia is staring at the Fairies like they're crazy. “Who are you two talking to?” Tayna points at the broach, “Nalle silly.” Nalle is a rock? I thought you said she was the dungeon stated an even more confused Amelia. “Exactly,” said Tayna. “The crystal is the Core of the dungeon. It houses Nalle’s soul.”
Sally’s eyes go wide, and she slapped her forehead, “I know what is going on.”
After my Avatar had regained consciousness while taking the cloth from Amelia, I groggily asked. “so what is going on?” Noticing there is blood on Amelia’s hands, I send her to get washed up.
Sally is about to explain when I hold my hand up, telling her to wait for Amelia to return. (I have a plan for the child, but first, she needs to feel more at home.) Sally smiles and says, “sure.” she flies up beside Tayna, and they try to clean the wound on my forehead.
A couple of minutes later, Amelia came running back with a damp rag in her hands. She cleans me up and starts searching around for something to bandage my forehead. Tayna, noticing, tells her to calm down. “The cut stopped bleeding and will heal without a scar in a few minutes.”
Amelia nervously asks. “What about infection? My grandpa died of an infection. The guy that sells herbs to the slums told us that if he wanted to survive, they needed to cut off his leg.” “Did they?” Tayna weakly asks. “How could we? There are no doctors in the slums, and when we went to the inner gate to ask if we could see one? The guards kicked grandpa away and threatened to sell me to the governor.”
I smiled and walked up to her, still uncoordinated, wrapping my arms around the child. Amelia tenses up, but she doesn't pull away. Look her straight in the eyes and say. “Do you really believe I will let some germ get into my domain? Now, could you help me pull that huge rock out of the chair so that I can sit down for a little while?”
That got Amelia to chuckle. She looks at Rocky, with one tiny fist on her hip. The other arm wrapped around my waist, trying to support me, tells Rocky. “we need your seat.” Rocky Shrugs slowly stands up and sits down at the opening into the corridor. We all roll our eyes at Rocky’s antics.

After Amelia gets me into the giant chair, she nervously glances at the now blocked entrance. I pat the chair beside me. While grinning, I say. “you can sit here.” At this comment, Rocky shifted uncomfortably. I tell him, “Don't worry, we are only borrowing your seat.”
By now, both fairies are sitting on Amelia’s shoulders, watching the banter between us. Sally asks if she can explain what happened yet. I nod. But before that, I mentally send to the fairies, “how come she is fine with you both on her shoulders, but she is so tense around me?” Both fairies smile, “That's because fairies have annoying habits like randomly landing on big people's shoulder and starting up conversations. Most are used to it, especially around here. There are a lot of us.” I give a wave and say okay, continue out loud this time.
Sally begins by saying, “are you aware that almost no Dungeon ever achieves the knowledge to create an avatar?” I stare at her with a blank face. Sally blushed and says, “Stupid question, I know.”
With reddening cheeks, I retort. “I can understand that, though. I may never have gotten to this point without the insight given to me by Tyrant.”
"Anyhow," Sally said, "once a dungeon creates an avatar that becomes his/her body. Then an avatar always gets a major overhaul by the world system. So that should fix that mess Tyrant left you with at least." She continued, "also, you must keep your Core with you, at all times, or at least within a certain range to your avatar. I would recommend keeping it on your body, but if you're worried, leave it with Rocky. As long as you stay in the city's vicinity, you should be fine. You can also extend the distance. If you have a champion that follows you of their own free will."
At this revelation, Amelia fell deep into her own thoughts. So I poked her in the side. “What are you thinking about so seriously?” In barely a whisper, Amelia asks, “can anyone be a champion?”
"Do you want to be a champion, Amelia?" I ask her patiently.
“Are you sure? Can you leave behind everything and everyone you know?” Sally asked.
This time she faced me, peered into my eyes. “Can I think about it for a little while?”
I grinned at the child and added, “Take your time.”
I watched Amelia exit the room and wander back and forth in the tunnel for a while before shrugging my shoulders and practice moving around until Amelia arrived back in the room with a determined look. "I want to be your champion and stay here with you guys."
A grin spreads across my face as I respond, "Great welcome to the family, little sister."
Amelia glanced at me, confused, “Wasnt I going to be your champion.”
“Oh, you are. But if I am leaving these tunnels, we are going to need a cover story. While you need pointy ears like ours,” I added while pointing at the fairies. At this declaration, the three girls looked excited, but Rocky looked panicked. I raised an eyebrow at him and asked. “Do you expect us to leave you behind?”
After contemplating that, Rocky settled down. Then pointed at the throne. “No, we’re not taking your chair. It is too big.” Suddenly Amelia tugged my sleeve while I was glaring at Rocky, who seemed ready to fight. “What! Oh, sorry, what is it, Amy?”
Amelia, who had jerked her hand back when I responded harshly, nervously inquired. “how will I make her ears pointy like theirs?” But soon smiled at my nickname for her.
I smirked and said, “wait a few days. They will finish growing by then.”
Amelia’s hands touched the tip of her ears. Frowning as she asked, “are they really growing?”
“It would take too long to explain. I responded; anyhow, I require the last name for when we leave the underground.”
“Why do you need a last name?” asked a puzzled Amelia.
“Silly, neither of us has any money. We have to start our adventure right here in this city. Hold on, are there High elves around here? Also, what’s the city called?”
This time Tayna chimed in with a chirpy. “Yep, there are a few. It's mixed with equal amounts of most races, although the slums are mostly human.”
Sally added. “This is the city of Darnath.”
Amelia puffed out her cheeks. Looked at her frilly princess dress and our white hair, “no one will believe we are from the slums.”
I smirked at Amelia. “Well then, we will have to become adventurers. What do you say, sis?”
Amelia grinned back, and with two fists up in the air says. “yeah, we can do it.”
With my finger tapping my chin. I sat and thought about my surname for several minutes.
Sally rolls her eyes declares. “Your name shall be Nalle Eversong.” Tayna grins and gives Sally two thumbs up.
Watching my new sister, I raise an eyebrow questioningly. Amelia smiles and says, "I like it." (Something feels off about all this)
