'Found it, thank you for the help, nature.' Ava slightly bows her head to the surrounding which shock Faron and Janet. Connor shook his head, realizing he saw the exact thing happened not too long ago.

|You are welcome, do be careful, four wolves had managed to track your scent and is slowly coming your way from the north.|

'Wolves?' Ava turns around while going into her stance to fight.

"Guys, which way is facing the north?"

"Behind us, why do you ask?" Janet frown, while Faron tilts his head to the side, confused about Ava sudden question.

"Four wolves are coming from that direction to ambush us."

"Got it." Faron immediately pulls out his sword from the sheath and got ready for the incoming attack from the north. Meanwhile, Connor quickly set up a quest to either disable or kill the wolves that are currently hunting them down.

"Faron, you're trusting her too easily. I don't even see..." As if someone was communicating with Janet, she turns to aim her bow to the north.

Connor immediately spends the last fifteen creation points to update the ability that could very well save Ava life.

[The ability 'Novice cryokinesis' has been updated]

[Ava your ice ability has been upgraded.]

'Got it.'

While the wolves are still distanced away, Janet scale a tree with a height of four meters at ease, the action stuns Ava while her mouth went wide open. Connor disrupted Ava visible envious expression and told her to get ready.

"White fang wolves, there's an alpha wolf. Faron let's do the usual." Janet turns to Faron and nods at him.

"Greater strength, precision strike, greater agility." Faron continues to mutter to himself while his body glows whenever he is done with the chant.

Similar to Faron, Janet is also chanting high up in the trees, but Ava is unable to hear what kind of ability she is using. Ava starts creating an ice crystal but she didn't think things would go wrong when she is unable to hold up the weight of the ice crystal, and she miserably let it go on the ground.

[What are you trying to do Ava?]

'Ignore me. I am testing to what extent I can make use of my ability.'

Connor dismissed Ava failure and flew up to the sky to get more visibility on the enemy at hand. The surrounding forest seems peaceful despite the danger that lurks around the corner. Birds are chirping away at a distance not far from them, it distracts Ava on her current predicament.

Her biggest weakness is her strength and agility. These weaknesses indirectly demotivate Ava to be confident of herself. At the same time, despite her high stats of endurance, Connor didn't think she can take one hit from the enemy ahead of her.

Janet pulls strings on her composite bow with her arrow at hand. There appears to be a slight silver glow on the shaft which disappears seconds later. Two seconds later she released the arrow, and an immediate sound of growl is heard from the distance.

"Tch missed the vital spot. Faron, they're coming, get ready." Janet turns around and hops to the tree behind Faron as if she has done it so many times before.

[Is she a rabbit?]

Ava unconsciously let out a laugh, and her action immediately gains attraction from Janet who turns and glare at Ava. Ava embarrassingly coughs to break her expression and get ready to throw the icicle on her hand. Ava increases the length of her icicle enough to make it look like a spike with a handle similar to a kunai.

At the same time, Ava realizes, despite holding on to the icicle, her fingertips are not affected to the cold. A sudden appearance of a two-meter monster shocked and froze Ava on the spot. Faron managed to block the critical strike with a smile on his face. He didn't seem to worry at all and even push the huge wolf in front of him.

'This is a wolf? It looks like a legendary creature to me.' Connor turns to Ava who starts to shiver in fright.

Ava didn't expect a wolf to be this huge. She feels a sudden regret for being an adventurer. It will be a miracle if she manages to survive this fight.

Faron dodges roll to his right before another two wolves strike at his previous spot. The simple engagement creates a cloud of dust. It shows how deadly the strike was. Any mistake could have been instant death for Faron.

Arrows after arrow are heard being shot from the sky as the battle presume but Ava feels useless as she is unable to know the current status of her teammate and the whereabouts of her enemy.

"Alice!" A shout is heard.

Ava didn't have time to register who is it that shout out her name as her body abruptly and unconsciously forces itself to crouch down. Right after she crouch, she hears a destructive sound happened on the tree beside her. The tree is not able to hold itself and creaks while slowly falling to the ground. Ava heart almost stops, the idea of being hit by the attack gives her the shivers.

Connor is giving his best to find Ava within the cloud of dust. Constantly telling Ava to get out from it. The fright makes Ava's legs to stop listening, no matter how much she wanted to run away to safety.

[Ava, make your body as small as possible and enclose yourself with your cryo ability!]

'G-Got it.' Ava pulls herself together and starts to create ice walls to cover herself from the grave danger that she is in. She didn't stop at making one layer, being frightened to death, Ava continues to make wall after wall till her mind is exhausted.

"Earthstrike!" Faron sudden shout interrupts Ava thoughts. Seconds after the impact hit the ground with a loud bang. She feels a tremor coming her way. Ava unconscious closes her eyes while awaiting the quake that comes her way.

It takes about around seven seconds before the tremor to stop and few more seconds for the cloud of dust to fall to the ground. Easing the visibility for Connor and Ava to see who comes on top in the battle. Ava nervously put her head out from her enclose walls to peek at the situation.

All four of the humongous wolf is down on the ground. It is Faron, who is holding a sword that had impaled one of the wolves on its chest.

Faron appears to be smiling as he continues to gasp for breath. Janet jumps down from the tree and approaches Faron from behind.

[Ava one of the wolf is still alive be careful.]

"Faron, one of them still live!"

The moment she shouts, the wolf instantly attacks Janet who is the nearest to it, is caught by surprise but she still manages to sheath her short dagger in the nick of time. Even though Janet manage to defend, she still flew five meters and landed on a tree.

"Urgh..." Janet cough out blood as she falls to the ground.

"Janet!" Faron rush towards the wolf after drawing out his sword from the other dead wolf. Unfortunately, Faron is still tired from the initial fight and appears to not chanting any of his abilities.

[Ava, from the look of things, Faron may have used up all of his mana, or there's a restriction to use his power. You need to help him.]

'I-I got it.' Ava grips her legs that are still not moving according to her will.

Despite Faron attempt to end the battle, the alpha wolf appears to be in a rage after seeing all of its companions fall from battle. Ignoring the current injuries that it has, the alpha wolf continues to engage with Faron. The increase of strength from the opponent cause Faron to have difficulty in dodging and defending the attack. Now it is only time before Faron exhaustion could create a grave danger for him.

"Argh!" Faron got thrown by the wolf that started to play with its meal. Knowing that the human in front of him doesn't have any much strength to fight, it decided to torture for vengeance.

In a desperate attempt to save Faron, Ava found a way to use her ability uniquely. First and foremost Ava breaks the four wall protecting her. Next, she creates ice from under her, it pushes her off from the ground and allows her to stand at ease ignoring her slight instability due to her fears. She immediately takes her chance and charges at the alpha wolf.

'An act of suicidal?' Connor watches as Ava charges towards the huge wolf while yelling at the top of her voice.

The alpha wolf appears to have shown a smirk while turning its head upon the incoming threats. The alpha wolf howl in response and also starts charging back to Ava. It didn't take long before two targets reach each other.

The wolf jumped straight towards Ava and tried to bite the ignorant human in front of it. Ava frowns as she didn't think she would risk her life for someone that she just met hours ago. While screaming she starts to create ice crystal on the ground under her shoe and allows her to easily slides under the wolf, dodging the critical attack and at the same time putting a distance between the two of them.

Turning her head, Ava sighs in relief to see her opponent has been stabbed by the massive spike trap she made before. By charging towards the wolf from the distance without equipping any weapon, Ava hopes to taunt the wolf to create a similar response by which she could set up a trap by creating a massive spike with one hand behind her back.

The moment she slides between the legs of the huge wolf, the wolf regretted jumping as behind Ava is a massive ice spike. The wolf tried to dodge in mid-air. Unfortunately, it was too late.

The sharp ice spike cleanly stabs the inside of the wolf mouth as it was opening its mouth wide initially to bite Ava. The momentum was too great that it allows the spike to punch through the back of the wolf neck. Blood Splatters at the clean stab and what makes it so unreal is that the body of the wolf slowly slides down to the base of the ice spike that station itself on the ground.

'One barbeque wolf coming right up.' Connor grin as he is honestly impressed with Ava decision. He didn't think she is the type to grow under pressure. He had casually shrug to himself that it was time to meet his wife but looking at things now Ava had managed to overcome his expectations.

After apologizing his wife for his late return, he turns to the notification that has popped up.

[Quest completion - Defeat the wolves - you have gain 100 creation points.]

"Haa... Haa..." Ava continues to stare at the wolf as she still didn't believe that she is able to finish off the wolf on her own.

"Alice, are you alright?"

A sudden voice disrupts Ava thoughts. She turns around to find Faron and Janet standing looking at her from the far distance. It appears that Janet had walked to Faron, giving him a helping hand.

"You didn't let me down at all Alice, and you're a very good mage. A powerful one indeed." Faron started laughing as he didn't expect to get help from a rank G adventurer.

"I didn't think you could survive. I've underestimated you. Not that I will forgive you for hiding yourself at the initial battle." Janet, on the other hand, turns away after giving such remark.

Ava realizes that even though Janet gives such comment, she appears to have a change of view towards Ava. At least Janet doesn't disfavor her anymore. More importantly, looking at the condition they're in, Ava wants to go back and bath so severely.

Janet still stares at Ava but with a questioning look. She got so much question to ask. Is Alice the reason why nature decided to help? How is she able to detect the enemy before her? How did she dodge the initial attack when she isn't supposed to be able to see anything? There is various more question but the most important she's dying to ask, how is Alice able to create magic without having any mana within her body?

As an elf, she is sensitive to the surrounding, preferably the mana around. She can gauge the magic ability of a person with a glance. It is one of the reasons why she had managed to survive so far. Even before anyone chants, the mana inside their body will start to shake thus allowing her a few seconds to dodge any incoming attacks that are thrown to her. She might have unconsciously revealed her abilities to Ava who appears to have not realized but if she continues to grill for answers, things would go bad if her disguise is revealed.

Gazing at Ava in front of her, there's only emptiness within her body. There's no mana at all. How did she, wait...

"Alice, is your body cursed?" Janet went and asked a direct question as her curiosity beats her previous prideful attitude.

"Janet, what sort of question did you bring up when she just save our lives?" Faron stops looting the dead wolf and turns to Janet to prevent her actions from making their relationship with Alice much more worse than it already is.

"What do you mean by being cursed?" Rather than taking it for an insult, Janet question interests Ava as she already knows that Janet is an elf.

"There's something in your body that prevents you from receiving any mana. It looks menacing. Did someone sacrifice you to a demon king previously?" Once she starts talking, Janet doesn't know when to stop. Spouting out her opinions without thinking about other people feelings. It is one of the reasons why the elder in her clan, banished her, disallowing her to see her parents for the rest of her life.

"Janet, stop it, you are going too far!" Faron approaches the two ladies to stop it from getting worse.

Janet seems to have snapped out from her curiosity as she turns at Faron and back to Ava and tried to apologize to her.

"No, it's alright Faron. Janet, please tell me, what do you see within my body?" Ava puts on her serious expression as Janet answer may very well expose the church evil-doings.
