《The Abandoned Disciple》Chapter 46

“…so you see it its quite important to….Hana!”
Hana, who was bobbing her head up and down with her eyes closed, awoke abruptly. “Wah! ”
“Were you sleeping?!” he asked in an angry tone.
“N-no…” she said as she wiped the drool from her face with her sleeve.
Relic was just about to berate her for not taking his lesson seriously when he suddenly remembered she was just an 8 year old girl with no prior cultivation teachings.
He stared at the still dazed little girl and could only let out a sigh.
“Okay, I guess you have learned enough for today. Why don’t we call it a day?”
“Okay!” she said excitedly. She stretched her limbs and gave a satisfied yawn.
“What do you want to do now?” Relic asked.
However, Hana had already found herself an empty space and began cultivating the [dragon breaking point] technique. She was completely focused on cultivating and didn’t even hear Relics question.
Relic gave a helpless head shake before he made his way back to the crystal clear lake.
While Hana did her own thing, Relic took out and laid down 26 vials of water essence beast blood and one large jar of fire essence beast blood from the Fire Tusk Boar beast. The jar of blood was part of the items he had purchased during his second visit to Heaven’s Treasure.
He then took out a crystal bowl and scooped out a half bowl of spirit water from the lake. Taking a vial from the pile of water essence beast blood, he dripped 3 drops of blood into the bowl and another 3 drops from the jar. Finally, he took out one fire and water lotus and placed it on top of the bowl of water.
The dried up fire and water lotus swayed left and right as it settled on top of the water. It quickly flipped over and sunk to the bottom of the bowl.
Relic seemed unfazed and quickly placed another lotus on top of the water. The new lotus swayed on top as the previous one did before quickly settling on top of the water. Within a moment, a different occurrence happened. The dried up roots of the lotus began to suck up the water at an astonishing rate! The bowl of water quickly lost half of its original water and the dried up lotus was rejuvenated into a blossoming lotus.
An even number of small motes of red and blue lights floated from the lotus.
Relic’s eyes sparkled and a smile stretched across his face when suddenly, the red motes of light increased and overtook the blue light motes.

The Fire and Water lotus instantly burst in to flames, leaving only black ash.
“So, it won’t be as easy as expected…”Relic sighed as he took out a paper with the list of beast blood and putting a value next to it..
He quickly refilled the crystal bowl and repeated the process with a new vial of blood. This was the core component of the infused blood wine Relic was trying to make. The fire and water lotus is capable of absorbing beast blood and in doing so, releases a naturally sweet sugar. When added to a base wine, it not only provides a great taste, but also an increased the affinity to those with the affinity to the water and/or fire dao.
However, this wine was fairly hard to make without an exact recipe. In order to bring out the fire and water lotus’ sweetness, one had to concoct a perfect balance between the fire essence beast blood and the water essence beast blood. Strictly speaking, there was no real way to tell how to compare the quality between two beast bloods of different essences. Even if you caught and extracted the blood of two identical beasts and which one had affinity to the water dao and the other with the fire dao, the quality of the blood could still differ.
Thus, Relic could only go through the process as a trial and error. If the fire essence blood was stronger than the water essence blood, then the lotus will burn and turn to ashes. If the opposite was true, then the lotus will plump up and explode with gushing water. However, if the lotus carries no spirit qi at all, it is basically dead and will sink to the bottom of the bowl.
….
At this moment, Hana was in the lotus position and was in a meditative state. When her brother taught this position to her she immediately understood it and was able to enter the meditative state with ease. When Relic saw this he only sighed and mumbled the words: ‘a true successor indeed…’
The meditative state was used to not only calm one self, but also establish a foundation for oneself after having a breakthrough. All break through causes some form of backlash to the cultivator so it was important to meditate regularly in order to stabilize their foundation and reduce the backlash..
Hana opened her eyes with fierce determination. The 8 sets of the [dragon breaking point] technique scale up in difficulty the higher you went. For a new cultivator like Hana, Relic only had her start out with the first two. However, she now felt like she could take on the third set as well.

Hana stood up and began to cultivate the [dragon breaking point] technique.
All the while, she did not notice a sharp gaze coming behind her.
….
A gigantic black and gold snake wrapped itself around the branch of the large tree within the immortal cave. Its gaze stared intently on Hana and looked to be filled with a hint of killing intent.
“The legend of the true successor tells of individuals beloved by the heavens and blessed with heavenly talent. If they pursue the path of cultivation they are surely to reach the apex and stand above all. The legend states a true successor will reveal itself when two conditions are met. The first being they have an unwavering and resolute heart; and the second that they connect to a heavenly thread using the original human scripture.” Diana continued to silently gaze down on Hana but her heart was beginning to beat faster.
The original human scripture was the first scripture to teach humans cultivation. No one knew how it came to be but it was said the first scripture was so profound it could allow anyone to become an immortal. However, like many things, the original human scripture was lost to time. Though, that didn’t mean there weren’t other variations of cultivation techniques that have come close to the original scripture. Diana surmised that the cultivation technique Relic taught Hana was one which closely resembled the original human scripture.
Her fangs slowly emerged and her cold piercing eyes sharpened like a predator eyeing its prey. “One strike, I can finish her with just one strike…” The thought crossed her mind several times.
“” a mocking voice suddenly sounded behind her. Jiro had perched himself behind Diana.
“” she said coldly.
“” he smirked.
Diana did not respond to Jiro’s obvious attempt at provocation and instead asked a question “”
Jiro stilled and did not respond.
“” she laughed. “”
“”
“” she scoffed.
The two auras coming from them clashed and a wave of murderous intent overlapped each other. However, Jiro was the first to retract his aura before turning away. Diana was shocked Jiro backed off and immediately became suspicious.
“” With that said, Jiro flew back to the grass field and returned to his post where he continued to rest.
Diana seemed a bit conflicted by what Jiro said. As much as she disliked Jiro, he was still a divine spirit beast and for him to talk about a human in such a way made even her to question everything.
However, she quickly steeled herself as she begun to think about the bigger picture.
“It must be nice to have been born as a divine spirit beast without responsibilities .As for me I have my subjects to look after. If I take out this girl now, at least I would have taken care of one supreme cultivator… It will be the last thing I do as a princess.”
Diana heart grew heavy as she thought about killing this girl. She actually quite liked this girl who was so cheerful and fascinated about everything. As a divine spirit beast, it was quite strange for her to feel any attachment to these humans. As her thoughts wandered, she then thought about Cornelius. Tears ran down the side of her head.
“Mr. Savior, although you have saved me, I can only trample on your kindness. This world will never accept a relationship like ours. I hope we can meet again in the next life... ”
She changed into an attacking position, her fangs now fully protruded outwards and her eyes solely focused on Hana.
She, who could take on even Golden world Cultivators, was about to attack a defenceless girl who was merely at the qi condensation realm.
Just as she was about to strike, an influx of qi energy spiraled from her and towards Hana!
“What is going on?! Is this the power of the True successor?!” She couldn’t help but speak out loud.
The large tree tussled heavily as if it there was a large hurricane beside it.
Relic quickly turned to see Hana sweating profusely and making pained expressions. A thousand questions were going through Relic’s mind at this point.
What is happening?
How could this be?
A true successor couldn’t possible do all of this!
However, no matter what he was thinking, no one was there to answer him.
Just as sudden as the qi energy arrived, it had suddenly abruptly stopped. Relic quickly arrived beside Hana but she was still as a statue. Her eyes were closed and she was breathing heavily.
“Is she making a break through?!” Relic swallowed his saliva in disbelief.
Diana had a single sweat run down her head, now believing more than ever this girl had to be taken down now.
Before she could even launch her attack, a pressure filled with emptiness shrouded her entire body. It was an emptiness of extreme hunger, a hunger to devour all things! Diana, froze on the spot, unable to move an inch.
It was then, the immortal cave door opened and Cornelius appeared in front of Hana with constricted eyes.
