《The Abandoned Disciple》Chapter 18

Slap…
His hands were brushed away.
“What are you doing here…” Her voice was cold and the aura of despair surrounded her.
“M-master, It is me, your disciple, R-Relic” he stuttered.
“I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!” She shouted without looking at him. “I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO NEVER SHOW YOUR FACE TO ME EVER AGAIN!”
“Master I….”
“GET OUT!”
“I will never abandon master.” He said before he turned and left.
Inside the hut, Pascal broke into tears. “Why do you care for a broken woman like me?” she sadly muttered to herself. Her anguish seemed to affect many of the people living in the town. Without reason, many felt just a slight gloomier.
Relic did not say or do anything. He sat in front of the hut as he meditated.
Over the next few days, Pascal did not come out.
Days passed and only after a whole week passed did she finally emerge.
The door creaked open and Relic stood up and turned to face his master.
She slowly walked towards him, her face turning darker with every step. As their faces neared she stopped in front of him, then…
Slap
A fierce hand slammed across Relic’s face.
“That’s for disobeying my direct order.” Her voice soft yet filled for grief.
Slap
And again
“That’s for lying to me.”
Slap
And again
“That’s for…… ”
Although her slaps were fierce they did not carry the power of cultivation behind them. Relic could easily dodge these slaps but he did not.
As her final slap ended she dropped to the floor.
“Why did you come back….?” She softly asked.
The two were silent and unmoving.
“….”
“Because I need you.”
“What…” Her head shifted up to look at his face.
“After I became mortal, I traveled throughout the regions in order to find a way to fix my dantian so that I could become strong enough to make your proud.”
Her mood turned extremely gloomy.
He continued, “Those stories I told you about my adventures. What I told you was the truth, but every day I spend traveling felt like…. like I was living in hell! I would trade it all, my cultivation, my fortuitous encounters, if I could only remain with master! Even when I found you like that, I was still happy because I was finally reunited with you.” Tears dropped from his eyes.
“But…But…” she tried to say something but it was like her throat had something stuck in it.
“I don’t care you abandoned me or destroyed my dantian, as long as you still exist, I will never let you go!”
He dropped to the floor and kowtowed. “Master, disciple has returned!”
…….
Night came and went. Light stretched from the horizon. There was a man and women sitting in each other’s embrace under a large oak tree.
The two looked towards the sun rise over the horizon.
“I wish we could escape all of this.” Her voice was soft and tranquil
He waited a short while before replying, “Anywhere master wishes to go, disciple will follow.”
“Disciple….I want to live a new life. One unfettered by the past and one that looks on to the future with clear eyes.”

He looked at her with eyes of sadness. “Disciple will follow.”
“En.” She nodded.
……
The two remained under the oak tree for several weeks before Relic carried her with both his hands and shot into the sky.
He carried her towards one of the 7 desolate beast regions of this continent and traveled towards it's center. A gargantuan golden eyed snake stretching over several hundred kilometers long laid in the center. Its scales reflected blinding light from the sun and each scale could cut stone as easily as butter.
“Humans, you dare trespass onto the territory of the Heavenly serpent clan!” Several red eyed serpents roared at the two humans. Their colours alternating between silver and black, and their eyes glared with deep red.
Pressure fell onto Relic and Pascal with the aura of several immortal ascension realm beasts. However, Relic only snorted as a blue world encapsulated the entire area. The raging snakes all stopped moving and their mouths gaped open.
“How could a domain be so powerful!” they all exclaimed. They tried to struggle but no matter what they did they could not move at all. These snakes were all practically in the apex of power within this world, yet right now they were basically lambs on a chopping board.
“Release my subordinates! We have a treaty with the human Kingdoms!” A large roar could be heard as a giant golden eyed snake transverse the sky in a domineering manner.
It released pressure which could scare even the most powerful of experts. It was at the true apex of power, comparable to those ancient powers in the immortal ascension realm. The number of people who were in the half step ascension could not be said to be few and could practically do whatever they wanted. Then there were those who are actually in the immortal ascension realm. In the entire continent they lived in, there were less than 100! Of those 100, maybe only the top 15 could fight with this golden eyed snake!
Immediately after saying that, the wold surrounding it suddenly went silent and cold.
“Domain!” it screamed in terror. It tried to move but no matter what, it could not even make the tiniest of struggles. It was as if it was completely frozen!
Its eyes immediately began to shine and a golden light shrouded its body. “Blood of the Primordial Golden eye serpent!” It shouted. The golden aura dispelled the effects of the blue world and broke free.
“Our king will save us!”
“Long live our primordial King!”
All of the frozen snakes were cheering for joy.
However, there was one who was not happy. The golden eyed snake had a gloomy look as it stared at Relic and Pascal.
“We have a treaty with the human kingdoms; if you break it you will face the wrath of all 7 beast kings!” It tried to sound imposing but anyone could see it was slightly frightened. Having broken out of Relic's domain, it realised that it's movements were still a bit sluggish.
Domains were something only cultivators could use. While the beasts had something similar in which they called upon the blood power of their ancestors. It was easier for cultivator's to gain a domain than it was for a beast to call upon the power of their bloodlines.

This golden eyed snake had fought its fair share of powerful cultivators and never in its life had it been confronted with such a powerful domain. It was honestly fearful for its life.
“I need you as a mount and protector for a single day. After that, you will be released.”
The snake gulped.
“You despicable humans! You dare ask our king to be a mount! We would rather die than to suffer such humiliation!” It wasn’t just the immortal snakes shouting, but also many of the other creatures living in this desolate region.
“Shut up all of you!” The golden eyed serpent roared. All the creatures immediate stopped talking. The serpent couldn’t tell what realm Relic was in but it knew he was definitely more powerful than it.
“Just a day?” it asked cautiously
“Yes”
“Very well, let this junior be your mount.” It did not hesitate to bow its head.
All the creatures widened their eyes and their mouths gaped open. Was it possible this human was more powerful than their king? Many of the weaker creatures began to flee as fast as they could.
Relic ignored these creatures and simply carried over Pascal to the top of the snake’s head. He then directed it to go to the thunder storm sect. With the speed of the snake, it was like a flash of light traveling across thousands of kilometers within a few seconds.
Upon crossing the human territory, the supreme experts who were either meditating or were hidden, all gasped. The spirit beast race and the human race both had a treaty of non-aggression. Breaking the treaty could cause a war that would break out a full scale war between the 7 desolate beast regions and the human kingdoms surrounding it.
“Vile beast stop! You dare break the treaty?” a person in the half a step of immmortal ascension realm yelled in front of the incoming snake. Although he had a lower cultivation base than the snake, they were in the human territory, and he was not afraid of the snake doing anything.
“Lowly human, get out of my way, I have no interest in breaking the treaty, I’m merely a mount and have done nothing wrong!” The snake did not think it was embarrassing to serve as a mount for such a supreme individual.
The man now noticed there was a woman who was surprisingly beautiful but had dull eyes sitting on top of the head of the snake. He gaped in surprise. Not because of the fact she sat of such a terrifying beast, but because he knew her.
“Pascal ….Isa” the name escaped his throat.
She turned to look at him, in which her head immediately retreated.
“I see….”
Relic summoned a frozen spear which shot at light speed, penetrating the man like he was paper. He dropped dead just like that.
“Continue.”
Even the snake was left agape and shivered at his words. Nonetheless, it continued on his way.
The experts who had not come out yet thanked the heavens they were not as quick as the first guy.
It wasn’t long until the snake flew over purple sky city. Screams sounded throughout the city and mortals and cultivators alike, were panic stricken.
Several elderly and youthful figures rose up in the air to confront the snake. The amount of experts in this city was not small and the sky soon had over a hundred experts all ranging from the golden world realm to half a step to immortal ascension. Immediately, a cold and icy domain shrouded all of them. They were all shocked and fear began to take hold.
Relic had an expressionless face. His eyes were dull with no hint of life in them yet they were calm like the blue sea. Relic and Pascal both carried an aura of death, as if they were already had one foot in the grave.
Although the pressure coming from the golden eyed snake was immense, many felt more fear towards the two individuals.
One particular person saw the deep blue eyes Relic had and began chattering his teeth and stuttered the words, “D-D-Dao Seed!” All of their minds reeled upon hearing the word. It was as if they saw an impossibility becoming possible, right in front of their eyes.
“It really is the Dao seed!”
“It is mine!”
The one to say that was a person who was half a step to immortal ascension. His own domain shrouded himself and allowed him to move, though with some difficulty, through the domain which locked space.
He unleashed a torrent of magical swords, all infused with the essence of flames. The swords spiraled into a tornado, with Relic as the focal point.
Relic casually threw a frozen spear towards him which traveled at light speed. The swords that were passed by the spear immediately froze and shattered.
“Impossible!” was the man’s last words before the spear penetrated through his head.
Those without domains were incapable of moving and the ones who did have domains were frozen with fear. They all regretted trying to confront the snake. They thought that the snake had gone mad and travelled to the human territories by itself. If that was the case, it was basically handing over its treasured body to them.
Now they knew they were mistaken.
Next, Pascal began pointing towards certain individuals. Whoever she pointed to, Relic would chuck a spear at. It was like she was a judge and he was the executioner.
Some of them recognized this woman. She was once one of the most beautiful women in the country and when she was made available, there was almost no man who could resist the call.
They all saw the correlation between the attacks and knew she was specifically choosing who to kill. Seeing this, all the women experts breathed a sigh of relief.
76 bodies dropped from the sky and shattered before the snake continued on its way. The remaining cultivators cautiously retreated a safe distance away; for fear that they would be caught up to whatever this expert wanted to do.
