Excerpt from the Cow River Crossing Dictionary.
Dungeon n. A spontaneously occurring intelligent crystalline life form originating from high concentrations of mana crystals. For further information see ~ types in Encyclopaedia Multiverca.
Cable faced another late night at his gaming rig, with the necessity to get up and go to work the next morning. This is never a good combination, as the day at work is bound to have at least something go wrong without a decent night’s sleep.
If lucky, something minor goes wrong. The kind of thing where your workmates give you a trophy for making the funniest dumbest mistake they ever saw (like putting your lunch in the path of a test beam while working on a big project – only to discover your crispy chicken is really crispy when checking your results).
If unlucky, something on the monumental scale goes wrong – enough to send them screaming and crying as the run in terror, fearing for their lives (like putting a chunk of nuclear fuel in the path of said test beam). Working with sensitive military grade laser weaponry does that.
None the less, Cable enjoyed both his work and his gaming. The gaming fed his addiction and also his ideas for research. It is amazing what can be thought of in game worlds, particularly when there are a few billion minds connected to them and no worries of dying.
So the clock ticked well past midnight, into the wee hours of the morning – only seeing Cable to bed when a the cracks of dawn sound, piercing shafts of light into sensitive retinas. All to soon, the alarm to get back to the daily grind sounds, forcing him out of bed to stop incessant cacophony.
After a quick morning ablution, Cable hit the road in his old Scubaroo. While it may not be the fastest, most comfortable, or largest type of vehicle on the road, it housed enough to get from A to B in with efficiency, relative comfort, and room to take some larger items should they need to be transported. The old girl faithfully started up every time, unlike her master.

There weren’t any meetings with truck-san, nor were there any organisations out to get him. He still died though, by falling asleep at the wheel and crashing into a fixed base street light pole. Dying instantly from blunt trauma and electric shock, he left an ugly picture for his family and emergency services.
There is no life reboot in this world.
So he came to the land of Dystopia, a land of magic, heroes, rogue gods, dragons, dastards and dungeons. Nobody noticed his descent into a mana crystal vein ten klicks from the nearest village.

City of Champions Online
Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! And despite the name, there was no getting stuck in the same city as all the other players. The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment. The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
