《My cheat skill sucks》Sidestory: a drunk adverturers POV
Advertisement
I have been tasked as the first trial in the adventurers guild,
I work for the adventurers guild to scare off any new recruits by picking a fight with them when they register, this is the most important job since being an adventurer is a very dangerous thing,
every mission is one you have to stake your life on, comrades will die left and right, monsters will eat you alive, dungeons crawling with baddies and that’s just the tip of the iceberg,
bottom line is that you need to be determined to become an adventurer, you need to be able to stare death in the face, to not be afraid of anything,
so no half-assing.
That is where my job comes in, I am meant to scare the new recruits,
the ones that run away fail, the ones that ignore and continue will pass, the ones that fight back are promising recruits, the ones that win are going places in the future
this is an indirect way to measure the strength and attitude of our potential recruits,
if they ignore a fight means that they are indifferent or are able to control themselves, those that run away have no right to be an adventurer, those that fight back are the hot-blooded kind or the type that is easily aggravated and the ones that win are the ones who have the strength to back them up.
So I am here, drinking my favourite rum straight from the bottle, waiting for a newbie to come, the guild has its usual hustle and bustle going on so I just ignore it,
taking another swig I notice the door creak open and a small child enter the premise
he is wearing a tattered grey cloak with the hood down, revealing the childish face underneath, a furry loincloth peeking out from the cracks of his cloak,

a black haired, cat type Beastkin, probably from out of town since you don’t see anyone wearing that kind of getup here in the city,
he stops in front of the door for a while, just standing there, probably to get his bearings, and looks around, is he going to register? Or is he going to submit a request?
The hardest part of this job is separating new recruits and quest submitters, since they both usually have the same reactions, everyone in the guild ignores him, thinking he’s here to submit a quest
while I pay close attention to him as he makes his way to the receptionist booth, he hangs onto the ledge of the booth, lifting himself off the ground since he is too short for the table and asks the receptionist
‘’id like to register to become an adventurer’'
perfect! He is a recruit!
I shamble my way over there, wow, I think I drank too much, as the receptionist replies with a ‘’are you of age? The registration fee is 100 copper’’,
keeping it professional no matter who you are talking to is in the rules of being a receptionist, I stand next to the small child, towering over him with my height almost double his
what were my lines again? Uuh
‘’OI waatz a lil brat liek yeu dewen heeere’’ I may have had a little too much to drink, the kid splits into two, this must be some legendary technique,
‘’are you blind? Obviously, I'm here to register’’ oh, so he is the fighting back type, now let's test his strength,
I throw my bottle at him, landing a perfect hit to his head but somehow going through him,
I knew it! That must be the legendary afterimage technique creating an intangible clone via speed
He walks up to me, swings his leg back and delivers a powerful kick to my family jewels, so powerful, in fact, that I am sent flying off the ground into the air and landing a few meters away,
that kid is going places, and I just cemented my place in his legend,
the pain in my son becomes so powerful I get knocked out, foam streaming from my mouth.

The Dragons Predicament
Monsters, humans, war. Within their shielded cities of Technomagi, the humans live their lives in small boxes. Only venturing out of their bubbles with gunslingers or mages trained to defend against the beasts outside. Teleportation to other cities is normal, done through square boxes on rails that are housed underground. These days, the disparity between humans and us has grown to a breaking point. In a single night: an entire nation of monsters vanished. A cloud and flash of light that all had seen. Only the strongest could survive against their might and stubborn ingenuity. Those terrifying, amazing humans. We had laughed at first. ‘What possible danger is there? They’re just humans’. That was centuries ago by this point, of course. We all realized the moment we saw that metal tube fall. There is something that only a human can accomplish, through their ability to see light even in the darkest situation. You don’t win against humans. You either die with them or live to serve them.

(Dropped) Crown of the martyr and martyr of the Crown.
An undisputed being sits upon his throne, the Crown of damnation adorning his head. One gaze enough to make gods tremble, and one wave of his hand enough to make the mightiest of demons flee. An unfathomable cataclysm will surely arrive when such a being is slain and grasps another chance to walk among the living. This is a story of a monarch more ancient than time itself defying the absolution of death in his eternal strive to accomplish his primordial goal. And the Crown gazes on ravenously, its curse awaiting its next martyr. --- Story with an overpowered mc who still thinks with his brain, not muscles. I believe I put my own twist on the reincarnation trope. The story is mostly told from third person view with mc’s perspective. New chapters are released 3 times a week. --- This is an updated synopsis after requests from viewers. --- I do not own the cover picture.

My Sonnets and Poetry
A collection of Sonnets by yours truly. They follow the iambic pentameter thing and the pattern abab, cdcd, efef, gg. Kind of like Shakespearean Sonnets, but their my own. As of May 7, 2013, I've added in random poetry as well.
