Lucas saw the notification pop up but he did not have time to get excited. He quickly put on the title fledgeling. Afterwards, he started casting his fireball spell. 3 Seconds later a large fireball with a diameter of 80 centimetres appeared. It was scorching hot. Lucas did not feel the heat because of the magic circle's protection and he had completed the trial by fire so he had a certain level of resistance to fire. Lucas put more mana into it to further increase the heat. Afterwards, he released it on the creature who was still shrieking.
As soon as the fireball was released and began moving the creature stopped shrieking. Lucas's heart would be thumping heavily if it wasn't for the effects of combat mode. Lucas attributed the end of its screams to a successful evolution. But to make sure Lucas looked at the creatures name. He saw that the pending in brackets was no longer there. He then looked at the name of the creature. He saw it was no longer a Parashwein but it evolved into a Lava-hog. The Fireball exploded against the Lava-hog. The Lava-hog was engulfed in large flames. The heat wave shot back at Lucas after the explosion rang out.
There was smoke everywhere and tiny flames burning on the grass. Lucas couldn't see the creature anymore. He had to wait for the smoke to subside. The smoke took its time and but it eventually blew away. Revealing a creature twice the size of the previous creature. This creature was a hog the size of a full grown elephant. Its tusks was pitch black and the tips were blood red as if it was made to kill. It was currently drooling lava out of its mouth. The drool landed on the ground creating more flames. The skin of the Lava-hog was bronze. The Lava-hog began roaring and then charged at Lucas while spitting the lava at him.

Lucas moved immediately while prepping his mana. Dodging every lava spit attack. While dodging Lucas was observing the creature. He saw the skin and knew that it was going to be really hard to break. His fireball that he had just released had left some burn marks on the creature but it wasn't the damage that could change the outcome of the fight. Clearly being that this was a Lava type of creature it had resistance to fire. This was the most unfortunate evolution for Lucas.
Lucas kept dodging the spit attacks by dodging left and right. Then the Lava-hog came so Lucas dive rolled away. Lucas's dive roll was much more graceful and skilful than Layla Palmers. The Lava-hog realized if he does the same thing over and over he will get hurt. The beast got more intelligent after it evolved. So instead it kept a five-meter distance between Lucas and itself. It began amassing large amounts of lava in its mouth. Afterwards, it rapidly spat a lot of lava spitballs into the air and towards Lucas. It was like a net of spitballs that approached Lucas.
After spitting the Lava-hog came chasing Lucas too, despite all the lava spit in the air. Cleary it couldn't hurt itself with its own Lava. While the lava was falling and the Lava-hog was charging it still spat more lava at Lucas. First to the left side of him and then to the right and then straight at him. The Lava-hog wanted to make sure that Lucas couldn't run anywhere. So the Lava-hog shot the early spitballs at a slow speed and later ones at a faster speed. Everything was perfectly timed so the spitballs reached Lucas at the same time. He could not move right or left. He could not jump. He was trapped. Plus the elephant-sized Lava-hog was charging at him.
Lucas saw the Lava-hogs plan and stood still unperturbed and undaunted by all the lava approaching him. The Lava-hog snorted loudly while charging when it saw no fear on Lucas's face. It wanted Lucas to pay for the embarrassment it made it feel. The Lava-hog could feel that it was stronger than Lucas. It wanted to see Lucas cower in fear, it wanted to see Lucas beg for mercy.

Lucas calmly watched it all approach him. He then created another mana wall to protect his right side and above his head and in front of him. The mana wall blocked all the lava as Lucas dodged left. Avoiding the incoming mana from the front. He decided to do walk leftwards rather than stand still because the lava that was spat from the front of him was stronger as it didn't need to be timed. The left ones were shot first meaning they had a slower velocity than the right and the front. So it was the safer route. After blocking the spitballs the mana wall had holes in it. So Lucas released the spell.
Lucas realized that even though this Lava-hog was adding some extra stuff compared to when Layla Palmer faced it. It was still charging at him. One couldn't change one's nature that quickly. So Lucas went to the ability shop and bought two F rank spells. Afterwards, Lucas dodged the charge again.
The Lava-hog stopped in its tracks. The Lava-hog snorted again as it was furious because despite its increase in strength it still couldn't kill a weak human. It charged at Lucas again but slower because it was thinking of its next move. Lucas stretched out his hand sent a triple stacked mana wall in front of it. The Lava- hog stopped immediately lest he runs into a wall again. The fear of the wall was still embedded deep within its heart. Lucas released the wall and so the beast charged at him again, Lucas placed another triple stacked mana wall in front of it. The Lava-hog stopped again. This pattern continued for three more cycles.
The Lava-hog was getting very irritated but it did not want to run into a wall. Its fear consumed it. Until it got so annoyed that it no longer cared about the wall, next time it was determined to smash it to pieces and with it its fear. This time it decided to give up on planning and just went with its animalistic urges. It charged full on at Lucas. This was Lucas's plan, but he did not smile in order to make sure the Lava-hog doesn't realize it.
While it was charging Lucas prepped his mana. Once the Lava-hog reached top speed Lucas summoned his new spell. F Rank Ice Floor. Immediately the floor under the Lava hog turned to ice. The floor no longer had any grip so the large creature slipped. It was charging at full speed so its body was still sliding on the ground. While that happened Lucas cast another spell. F Rank Earth Control.
Immediately a steep ramp appeared in front of the Lava hog with all its speed the Lava hog went up the ramp and flew in the sky and the fell face first into the ground. With its weight, it buried itself quite deep into the ground.
It was stuck it could no longer move. Lucas casually walked up to the buried Lava-hog. It then climbed onto it. Only half its body was above ground. Lucas picked up its tail and began casting Arcane Ray. Once it was done Lucas sent several spinning mana arrows up its bum. With every arrow that went up its bum the Lava-hog lost its vitality. Not just physically but mentally too. The Lava-hog regretted ever facing this human. If it knew then what it did now. It would run away. This human was playing with him. First making it run into a wall and then using its fear of the wall to anger it. So that it would charge at full speed and then slip. Go up a ramp, fall face first into the ground all to leave its posterior exposed. So it could lose its innocence to arcane arrows.

The Last Death Mage
Since time immemorial humanity has always feared and shunned what it didn’t understand. Over time this changed a bit to encompass things that didn’t conform to their thoughts and ideals. Due to humanity’s stubbornness with which the enforced their ideals many lives were lost and changed. When humanity first clashed with monsters and the beings that use magic, this trait caused many bloody fights. Over time the fights escalated into battles and full on war on several occasions. Humanity due to their adaptability and persistence won many of these altercations, causing huge casualties to the magical beings. Humanity did not come out unscathed however; many of the empires and civilizations noted in human history fell due to these battles and wars. Eventually over time humanity and the magical beings came to a sort of agreement. Magic and the beings associated with it faded into the background of history, being relegated to myth and legend. Humanity meanwhile advanced leaps and bounds once magic faded, leading to our current level of civilization. Not all magical beings were content with this, thus they did their own actions and killed or fed on humans. This has led to many organizations to be formed concerning this, on both the side of humanity and the side of magical beings. They regulate and control the use of magic as well as protect humanity from the darker things that are now not but myth to them, but there is a reason humanity instinctually fears the dark. Unfortunately there are always those that are unsatisfied by the status quo, and those that are prejudiced against things that are different. This is a story of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be normal. Unfortunately Fate and the world he lives in do not easily allow that this, thus his life changed, not for the better. Everyone has heard of or read stories about monsters and legends, heroes and villains, this is one such story. Hi, this is my second attempt at a story here, the first was before the major overhaul happened and i lost everything related to that story due to PC troubles. I hope you enjoy this if you dont please leave some constructive criticism in the comments. An Editor and the like will be needed, but I will edit as problems are pointed out and as i proof read. This story will have no set schedule, unless of course I decide to type up a bunch in succession then i will note that in a chapter beforehand. ADDED NOTE: most sexual content will be in Interludes or sub chapters with a .5 attached. Profanity and gore however shall be plenty in the actual story, though the descriptives for the gore may be added later. (For example, in the prologue that gave a hint at what happened to the MC, will be enhanced so that the gore invokes more descriptive/complete mental pictures, though it may wait.) ~Tyroth Gideon
