" Did you kill all my soldiers?" The Goblin King said.
" Yes, I killed all... 58 of them," Lucas said.
The Goblin King gritted his teeth. " Why, what did we do to you!?"
Lucas laughed " You sent a scout to kill me? And you question why I killed them!? If I was weaker do you think they would have spared me?"
The Goblin King swallowed air after hearing this because he knew all to well if they were stronger they would have killed him.
"I tell you what I'm feeling quite magnanimous today. Give me some treasures and the other half of the map and I will leave."
Lucas had already seen that the level of every other goblin was about in the range of 1-4. The amount of exp he would gain from them is practically nothing. As his level is 3 times theirs and more.
The Goblin King looked at Lucas with resolve. He had no intention of giving up his treasures that he had amassed for a long time. It's exactly for this reason that he was hiding in some secluded dungeon. He had stolen the treasures from a prominent member of the Demon Clan. If he were to show his face in the outside world he would surely die. At least until he was strong enough to obtain the treasure but he had yet to reach that level yet...
The Goblin King gritted his teeth. He was contemplating the consequences of the decision he wanted to make. He clearly knew that if this "human" could kill all 58 of his brethren then he would surely die! What would be the point then? He could not run as this was the end of the line...
Finally, the Goblin King seemed to come to some conclusion and fiddled in his pouch. He took out a small tablet that was blood red. He looked at it and then quickly swallowed it. Suddenly the Goblin King's eyes became bloodshot. Veins starting bulging out of his skin as this happened the Goblin King started screaming in pain. Sounds of bones breaking could be heard amongst the screams.

As the screaming continued the Goblin King seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. Lucas relooked at the Goblin King's level and there was a ? on it. This was the first time Lucas had seen a question mark on a level. But he did not panic he just stood there nonchalantly.
" I take it, you have made your decision then. Don't blame for this then." Lucas said.
Lucas began preparing his mana and began chanting his spell. But this time he charged it for longer. With his int increased he could now control the power of a spell at will. This usually meant that a spell would take longer but he had upgraded his dexterity. Thus decreasing his cast time further, plus he had the blessing: decrease your cast time, active. Lucas held the spell drawing more mana forward.
At this time the Goblin King's transformation had ended. The skin of the Goblin King had now changed from green to red. It was no longer short. The Goblin King was now 6ft3 (1.95 meters). It had big bulging muscles. Its skin looked tougher than the leather armour the goblins wore. The Goblin King stood stark naked as he had outgrown all his clothes. His weapon was only a very small dagger that he picked up from his clothes.
Hahaha, the Goblin King laughed " Look at me! Marvel in my power!"
Lucas continued to cast his spell and looked at the level of Goblin King. He was utterly shocked when he saw it. The Goblin King was a staggering Level 20 Hobgoblin. He was happy he did not underestimate his opponent and began casting his spell early. For whatever that blood pill was, it was obviously the cause of the Goblin King's evolution.
Lucas wondered " If he had this trump card why did he wait till now to use it? Perhaps there was a reason he did not use it. But since I forced his hand he had to use it prematurely."

At this moment large turquoise magic circle appeared under the Goblin King. He noticed it and immediately snapped out of his power rant. But the second he moved his legs he was frozen solid in motion! He looked like a bug stuck in amber, of course, this was ice. Lucas marvelled in the power of this spell. It had taken 40 mana points instead of the original 30. But Lucas was not satisfied with this at all.
All he did was freeze the Goblin King. In order to get that juicy exp from him, he had to kill him. If he used his fireball spell now he could risk the chance of melting the ice without actually injuring or killing the goblin himself.
" System is the Goblin King frozen to the bone or is he just frozen in ice?"
[ Its movement is only restricted due to the ice. It is not frozen solid.]
Lucas expected this though. He thought " What if I use Arcane ray to snipe his vitals, this way I can try to kill him while keeping him locked in the ice. Yeah, that will have to do."
Lucas prepped his mana, aimed his fingers at the head of the hobgoblin. Lucas was standing behind the Goblin King because he did not want the Goblin King to see he was trying to kill him as that might incite rage which could allow him to break the ice.
Previously it took 0.5 seconds to fire the arcane ray but this time it took 5 seconds as Lucas was increasing the mana quantity and then compressing it each time into a thin ray again. He planned on using all his mana in this attack. After Lucas compressed 25 mana points of mana into a ray he used another 5 to add a spinning effect to the ray to increase penetration and reduce air resistance. While Lucas was focusing so intently some of the rock fragments were levitating slightly.
When preparations were complete. Lucas used his combat mode's aiming function to ensure his ray passes through as much brain matter as possible. Lucas then repositioned his fingers, bent his knees. Then fired the ray at 45 °. , A purple light flashed and borrowed itself into the ice. It was like a laser dancing through the ice. It reached the head of the Goblin King and borrowed through his skull then through his cerebellum and out of the frontal lobe. It then pierced through the ice and back out the ice. It continued till it reached a rock and buried itself in and then disappeared.
Red blood leaked out of the lower hole. It just poured and poured and poured.
" How resilient is this thing. Just die!"
At this moment immense fatigue came upon Lucas and he fell down to one knee.
[Warning, you have exhausted all your mana putting you in a state of mana fatigue. All attributes decreased by 50%]
Lucas went to combat modes settings and increased other emotions to counter the feeling of fatigue. This only worked against the feeling. Lucas was still in a state of mana fatigue.
But something good finally happened.
