《Black God of Lightning.》9. Lucas Lightningstorm's base stats.

Lucas opened the doors and stepped inside. Once inside the doors closed. There was no sound when the door closed as that wouldn't be very practical in a library.
Standing still Lucas looked around and took in his surroundings and it was marvellous!
The library was large in size. It had two floors above the current floor Lucas was on. The floor was tiled with green marble. There was a long rectangular table with chairs for people to sit down and read their books. The books were stored in bookshelves placed in tandem. In between the rows was a pathway for people to walk. Above the aisles was a board that gave a description of the type of books you would find in that row. And large golden chandeliers to give light to the room and the pathways.
Lucas walked to the table and pulled his chair out. The screeching sound that it made, made him cringe. He then sat down.
At this moment a girl walked out of one of the aisles. She had a book in her hand. This girl was no other than Rosabella Ashbinder the 1st Princess of the Kingdom of Pantelan. She was absolutely breathtaking. Her face was unblemished and had an oval shape with rosy cheeks. Her hair was blonde. Her eyes were royal blue. She had a slender waist and supple curves. This was all accentuated by the red dress she wore. Rosabella was truly a fitting name for her.
Lucas saw her and admired her beauty for a short duration but soon after turned his head away as he had more important things to do. Staring at Rosabella Ashbinder was definitely not one of them.
Rosabella Ashbinder walked up to Lucas but just as her eyes had first seen, he looked different. She then asked, " Your skin is that real?"
Lucas looked her way and said with a straight face " Yes it is. I was born this way. Doctors say it's a mutation that occurred during fertilisation."
Rosabella Ashbinder nodded her head because she bought Lucas's lie. She then asked " What brings you to the library? Better yet how did you get in here? This is reserved for royalty and I have never seen you before I am sure of that."

"Your Royal Highness, His Highness Daruin Ashbinder gave me permission and stationed the two King's Knights outside to watch me," Lucas said.
She believed him because no one was dumb enough to lie on the Prince's name. For if he found out it's your head that would be lying.
" Oh, big brother invited you. Then it's okay. Well, I hope you enjoy what our library has to offer. I'll be taking my leave now." Rosabella Ashbinder put down her book on the table where Lucas sat and walked out of the Royal library.
Lucas was tempted to watch her leave but beat the temptation and instead picked up the book she had left. The book title was "ア乇ムズ り 尺ム刀ズ ノ刀キ乇尺刀の 丂ア乇レレ".
Lucas couldn't read the title so he opened up the book on the first page to see what she was reading. But just like before he could not read it "ノキ リのひ 刀のイ ムイ レ乇ム丂イ ム んムレキ 丂イ乇ア ᄃ 尺ム刀ズ りの 刀のイ ムイ乇ᄊアイ イの ア尺ムᄃイノᄃ乇 イんノ丂 丂ア乇レレ."
Lucas thought okay maybe it's just this book that was written in some ancient language. So he went and to the aisle and saw a board which had writing it said "ᄊムムノᄃ."
He ignored that and picked a random book from the shelf but the same thing happened he could not read the title and so he opened the book but couldn't read the content either. He did this with the next book and the next book and the next book but all to none avail as he couldn't read a single a word!
Lucas finally realised that this is a new world so obviously the alphabet he knew was not going to be used here too. "Mmph, I'm going to have to learn a whole new alphabet this will take a while. I will probably stay in this castle for months before I can escape. Assuming I gained enough strength within the three month period to escape."
Suddenly an epiphany slapped Lucas in the face " Wait, I have a system maybe it can translate the words into English for me. Which would make sense as to why I can understand them but not read the language"

"System, can you translate their language into English for me?"
[Yes, I can translate Imedun into English. I have been doing that for you with regards to speech that's why you can understand the language.]
[ Would you like me to translate Imedun into English. Yes/No]
"Yes," Lucas said.
[ Translating language: 5% 20% 45% 78% 100%.
Language translation complete. Host can now read and write in Imedun.]
Lucas was thrilled that the system had this application too for it had just saved him months of arduous learning. Then Lucas looked up and the words on the board said "Magic."
Lucas smiled as now he was sure he could read Imedun. Lucas went back to the large table to sit down so he could strategize what his next move would be. Lucas got to the table and sat down on his chair that was already pulled out.
Then Lucas thought " So there is a lot of information I still do not know about this world. Like what currencies do they use? Is it Fait money or Commodity money? What is the main method used to earn money? Magic is used here, Daruin Ashbinder mentioned something about the red-robed people being Peak E rank mages. What is the rank system and how does it work? Is Mage, Warrior and Knight the only class? Are Knights warriors? Currently, I'm in the Kingdom of Pantelan. Is this the only Kingdom? Or are there other Kingdoms with other Kings? So far I have only encountered humans, do other intelligent species exist? "
"This is the most important information I need to know for now. Digging up all this knowledge in this library is going to take a while though..."
"System, what is the quickest way that I can currently use to gain the necessary information?"
[ The fastest way that you can gain the necessary information is to look at the board above the aisles to see the genre of the books and take books from the aisles corresponding with what you want to know.]
" Aaaah, that is not what I meant. But it's to be expected being that it is only a level one system."
" System, I don't want to read every single book to find the necessary information even if this is filtered by the fact that I'm selecting books from specific genres. Is there any other way other than the one you mentioned."
[System computing: 10% 15% 30% 45% 50% 60% 65% 75% 80% 85% 90% 99% 100%

The fastest way for you to gain the necessary information is by looking at the board on top of the aisle and choosing books according to the genre you need information on... The host then only needs to touch the books and "System" will read the book for you and convert the information into knowledge for you. However, due to your intelligence not reaching the required level for full assimilation and the number of books you need to read. System will be filtering all information out that you have not marked as necessary. Please note that this only applies to information. Arts that have a high mastery level still need to be practised.]
Lucas was happy to hear this for again the system just saved him hours of tiresome reading. He then wondered "what level of intelligence do I need to be able to do a full assimilation of the books I touch/read? In fact, what is my intelligence stat right now."
"System, I would like to begin configuration."

A Broken World [Rewrite]
In a world of floating islands of stone in the sky, where rivers flow through the air and defy gravity from one island to another, and ancient ruins can be found containing wonders beyond what can be produced by the lands current inhabitants- a millenia long war rages. In the distant past, beyond recorded history, when the crown of humanity's glory, the city of Uri, had stood whole against the enroaching demon swarms- even as hope seemed lost, a band of heroes, against all odds, managed to steal powerful magical knowledge from the demons. With the demon's forbidden knowledge, in the heart of Uri a new ritual was made. Called, "The Millenial Summoning," the ritual had the power to call a being from another world that would have the power to change the world forever. The first being summoned became known as "The Speaker," and he brought the power of the Gods to the world. With the blessings and power of the new priests, the unstoppable demon hordes were finally halted. A thousand years later, the ritual was used again and "The First Sorceress" was brought to the world. She brought the knowledge of advanced magics, and techniques to find and refine magical talent. With the magic power now added to the battlefield, the stalemate was broken. And for the first time, the demons were pushed back. Another thousand years later, and all of humanites hope for a final victory were dashed. Traitors slew the ritual's participants and took their places, and humanity quaked as The Demon King stepped into the world. His name, his nature, where he came from none of these are known, but what is known is his overwhelming power and his brilliant strategic leadership of the formerly formless hordes. Still, despite their position being even more dire than it has ever been since history has been recorded, humanity held on for another thousand years. Aided, thankfully, by The Demon King not taking the field after the first few years and battles. Now, the ritual is being cast again and a new hero is being summoned. In our world, after nearly three decades of study and hard work, Lucas Jaeger is making his dreams come true. With a double doctorate in both genetics and microbiology, as well as an associates degree in accounting, he has finally, after nearly driving himself mad from stress and sick from overwork, been able to put to together a presentation and ask for a business loan. His long time dream, earned by his own blood and sweat, to start his own commercial genetic company is finally coming to fruition. Lucas's car never left the banks parking lot and Lucas was never seen again in our world. This is a rewrite of "A Broken World." It is basically the same story, just a thousand times better and with decent length chapters!
