《Queen Of Alcaria》Chapter 1 - A New Beginning

“Princess? What are you talking about…” She mumbled with confusion, but just as she was about to finish her sentence, she felt a pang of pain as a sudden influx of information filled her mind.
Scattered memories flashed before her eyes as her brain was rapidly loaded with new information.
A new dawn of understanding filled her mind, as she roughly gathered the gist of the situation, the light in her eyes changed in a blink leaving the noble in the room unable to notice the peculiar scene, not that he was observant enough to pay any attention anyway.
“Oh, is your sickness flaring up again, Princess? Ah, ever since the unfortunate passing of your parents, your condition has only further degraded… you even have fallen into your own mental delusions.” The well-dressed chubby man commented casually, sounding more like he was discussing the weather than talking about the tragedies that have befallen the body previously.
However, before the noble could continue to talk a voice filled with concern said, “Edward! Why would you bring the Princesses parents again, when it was ordered by Sir Gregory not to? Her mental condition has only been getting worse lately, and it is only leading to her illness being even further aggravated.”
Turning her head to the owner of the voice she found a pretty, blonde, caucasian girl standing at the entrance to the door. Currently, her bright blue eyes were filled with concern as they wandered over her body worriedly as if to ensure that the condition of her body is healthy.
Edward presumably going by his reaction didn’t take that comment by her too well, as he angrily refuted, “Are you a mere maid, accusing me of harming the Princess? Perhaps you need someone to teach you your place Kaelyn, as the Princess clearly has been too lax on your behaviour, so I will do her service in disciplining you!”
After he finished his speech, Edward stood straight with an air of righteousness in his tone, as if he was going out of his way to do a service in helping the Princess improve her servant.
However, this image was quickly ruined by the way his gaze roamed her body up down lustfully, it was obvious what he meant by ‘disciplining’.
Kaelyn shivered in disgust as Edward’s gazed at her lewdly, but she still defiantly glared back as she said, “You have no right to do so! I am a servant of the Royal Family, and the son of a mere Governor cannot touch a servant of a Princess.’
Edward snorted in contempt, grinning at Kaelyn as he walked towards her reaching a hand out to stroke her hair and said, “In case you are not aware the Royal Family is finished, sooner or later my family will take their rightful place as rulers, so it is a privilege for you to be under my service.”
Talia just stared bewildered at the scene before her, ‘A Governors son can show such a lack of respect towards a Princess? It looks like the situation here is way worse than I initially presumed.’

She had only just recently gained the memories of the Princess and had not been able to go over them in detail just yet, the only things which she had roughly gathered were she was currently in the Kingdom of Alcaria and had possessed the body of the Princess, who coincidentally name is also Talia.
Upon finding herself in such a situation, she had quickly analysed the situation she was currently in and had come to a conclusion she had somehow reincarnated into another World.
Nevertheless, now was not the time to dwell on such thoughts as at the moment if she didn’t interfere then the first person who had shown an obvious sign of affection for her would continue to be tormented by that noble, whom she had immediately identified as someone who is clearly not on friendly terms with the Princess. Naturally, she seemed to be able to draw upon the memories of this body to speak within a new, strange language.
Before Edward could continue wantonly touching Kaelyn, the voice of Talia sounded behind him, as she said, “That's enough, I can discipline my own servants”
However, Talia didn’t expect that after she had spoken she was met by a strange silence in the room.
Edward abruptly froze for a moment as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing, turning around he scanned the room as if searching for another possible culprit for the source of the voice, but after looking around for a while he only found the Princess perched up on her bed glaring at him with an unfriendly gaze.
“Was that you Princess…” Edwards stammered, in disbelief, his eyes fixed themselves upon her as if to reaffirm his doubts.
“Ah, yes, why wouldn’t it be me?” Talia asked questionably, making Edward turn pale white with a look of shock.
On the other hand, Kaelyn stood there with eyes full of hope and joy, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of happiness that the Princess she knew may have finally returned. Yet, that look shortly dimmed after, as she calmed herself down, telling her not to get her expectations up.
‘Ah by the look of their reactions, I guess the Princess likely doesn’t usually act like this? But, going by the degree of their reactions, how severe was this bodies so-called illness previously?’
Edward felt a wave of trepidation fill him as if things were spiralling out of control. ‘This isn’t right! The Princess has been virtually brain dead for the last year, only muttering in-coherent sentences, how can this be explained! The physicians said there would be no reversal towards her condition.’
He couldn’t help but panic at the realisation, Edward long ago had thrown off his mask in front of the Princess, treating her full of scorn with no respect at all. It gave him a sense of thrill like nothing else, at the fact that the girl who was formally completely out of his reach in all aspects he could now parade around haughtily.

He had long, moved his thoughts on the prospective of becoming apart of the Royal Family after the Princesses mental condition continued to deteriorate to the point in which she would barely mutter sentences, and when she did they were intelligible nonsense. The Governor, his Dad, was now the most powerful man in the Kingdom and it was only time they would take over completely.
Observing Talia, he noticed that the previous befuddled, beautiful face of the Princess was now filled with a look of confidence, her dark blue eyes stared icily at him with unmatched coldness making him recall the memories of before the incident when she was an unmatched prodigy, filled with every bit of the aura of a natural-born ruler.
He quickly shook off these feelings, as he felt a pang of despair fill him as he began to feel threatened, discarding these thoughts he threw the fearful thoughts at the back of his mind as he thought, ‘What is there to be afraid of? She is no longer the genius she once was, it is only a right for me to act as I did….’
Swiftly, reaffirming himself, he once again restored his previous arrogant behaviour as he said, “Hmph, Princess, you clearly are not in the right mind at the moment to make such a decision”
Walking up to the Princess he confidently, placed his hand on her shoulder as he leaned in closer, Edward was always a big admirer of the Princesses beauty, so it was about time he began to take such ‘liberties’, previously he was afraid of the retaliation of her bodyguard Sir Gregory, but a reassurance that his Father had found a solution for that specific problem, he no longer had such concerns preventing him from doing so.
Just when Edward was eagerly anticipating the joyful feeling of finally fulfilling his desires which he has been holding back, a loud sound echoed across the room as he felt a sudden intense feeling of pain across his face.
*Slap!*
Edward covered up his left cheek with his hand. A vivid red hand mark had appeared on his cheek just like paint being flung onto an abstract painting. His expression was the textbook definition of shock.
Kaelyn had felt greatly uncomfortable when Edward had appeared into the room but the slap had shocked her greatly as well well. She couldn’t believe just what she saw.
Talia had never acted the same since the incident, she had become absent-minded, and walked around expressionless like a zombie without a soul. Thus, for the past year, she had always been picked on by Edward who had taken full advantage of her current state.
‘Did she just smack Edwards face! Did that actually just happen?’ Although it was amazing, she was thrilled, Kaelyn had been tolerating Edward for a long time, and the Princess had finally retaliated.
“How how dare you!” Thundured Edward.
“So what if I slapped you? You irritated me and crossed the line, I don’t care who your Father is!” Talia replied angrily, Edward had long made her very frustrated at how he treated Kaelyn, and now he just had to take it a step further, she is by no means a gentle person towards people who upsets her.
Edward shoved his large fingers at Talia as he pointed at her, the rage apparent on his face.
“How dare you slap me!” Edward repeated.
Talia ignored the ramblings of Edward, as he continued prattling on as if he couldn’t accept that she would dare struck him.
“He can freely yell in the palace just like this?” Talia was perplexed. No guards showed up like supposed too, could the position of the Princess in the Kingdom had truly fallen to such an extent?
’Is he truly someone not even a Princess can punish?’
As Talia was thinking, Edward had made a mad decision. He pounced at her seeming like he wanted revenge.
“Stop it!” Kaelyn shouted, “Edward, you are just the son of a Governor, how dare you attack a member of the Royal Family!”
Emily hurriedly commanded as she attempted to pull Edward away from her. However, the strength of a petite maid was a match for Edward.
In his rage, Edward seemingly forgot that he was in the Princesses chambers at the moment and that he was attacking his superior.
Ignoring the protests of Kaelyn he charged towards the dumbstruck Talia who was still amazed that he actually attacked her, knowing she wasn’t a clear match in physical strength no matter how horrendously out of shape Edward was, she did aim at the one thing which works on all men.
*Whack!*
Edward fell to the floor in agony, as he moved his hands over in crotch.
“You… you… will regret that!” He shrieked.
Standing up he lifted his left hand and a strange and mysterious spell rolled off of his tongue. A ball of fire was forming upon his hand and a burning sensation was filling the whole palace.
Seemingly forgetting how pathetic he previously looked, he couldn’t help but mock Talia, “You still think you’re all that still, huh? You still think you mean something, I want to show how little authority you have now! How dare you hit me? Talia, prepare to feel the wrath of a prestige mage!”
Talia was still staring with a perplexed look on her face as she watched Edward’s seemingly ridiculous actions, but upon seeing the ball of flame forming within Edward’s palms, a look of astonishment filled in her face ‘Wait, is that Magic! There is actually Magic in this World?’
However, she now realised how much danger she was in, as Edward had gone completely insane!
Edward laughed as he flicked his hand and the red hot projectile flew toward Talia’s face like a bullet.
