Chapter 133 - Threat far from
Cyra discussed with Mia. Zola span towards Joshua who was looking at the pond. She patted his shoulder. He looked at her and nodded his head. “So are you returning back to Edawick?” said Zola. “Do you intend to inform Silo about this?”
“Yes,” Joshua said. “I am not really eager to stay here. What do I do? Join you in this quest of defending a continent from this rather evil-sounding Empire?”
“This Empire can possibly burn this continent,” she said. “You listened to what Zola said right? Those things are my enemies. And I am obliged to purge them. And if I can’t stop them then they might become as big as the abomination that I fought in that forest. I cannot let that happen. And if this Empire knew or use the Quietus then I need to stop it.”
“I know you will,” he said. “And do you really think that I can help you in this matter? This is something I probably won’t be able to stand. We were helpless in that forest. So I wish you good luck, Zola. Still, I still think that this is all a waste of time.”
“A waste of time?” she raised a brow. “Is that you really think?”
“Yes,” he snarled. “I came all the way here for this? What do I say to Silo? That his lover was different than we imagine now and she’s saving the continent? I fought hard to come here and yet this is what I get? I could even tell that she doesn’t even dare to explain it to Silo herself.”
She didn’t like that. “So are you saying that all we did in saving those refugees are a waste of time?”

“No,” Joshua curtly said. “I never imply that. I am just frustrated that I walk past hell only to be disappointed this badly. Now there is a thing about some Empire fucking over. I am sorry. I am not that strong enough to be as pallid as you in receiving this news. You’ve faced these things. Killed them and slaughtered them. Live your whole life fighting them. Now there’s a chance that they might be coming and an Empire technologically capable as this place behind them. I don’t know anymore. ”
He slumps his shoulders. He looked at the ripple done in by the fishes. There was a trace of fear on his face. He was utterly confused and there was this slight fury that was churning his heart. He was regretting knowing about the enemy from beyond. He was disappointed by what he found after a long arduous journey too. There was no way for him be ignorant again about all of these matters. Now, he was just thinking of a way to tell Silo about the news that he received.
“I’ll take care of them,” said Zola. “Maybe I am too numb about these things that I take them well. You are right, you are normal and I guess that makes me abnormal? Hah. Good luck Joshua. Keep safe okay?” there was a weary tone in her voice. It was a tone that made Joshua looked at her. She wore a worried face. There was no fear just a face looking at a troubled friend.
“Thank you,” said Joshua. Zola nodded at him. She walked to Cyra and started discussing something that Joshua couldn’t hear. Then Cyra walked towards Joshua with her regal bearing.
“Can I urge you to stay?” said Cyra.
“I don’t think so. I am tired but I think Silo needs to know about this. No point in not telling that you are fine and doing well.”

“I see,” she nodded her head.
“Cyra,” said Joshua with a low voice. “I really can’t persuade you to back to Edawick even for a short time?”
“I am sorry,” she said. “The situation here isn’t that good. Although we have enemies beyond the seas, there are also enemies in this domain. I am glad that Zola’s actually stronger than I imagined. Sir Archie and Barbados can help me in my newly given army. And Lady Mia can help me maneuver through all the political drivel. Miss Leiko and Kioko had decided to accompany her as an aide. It’s actually helpful that you all came along. I am not alone in facing this demesne’s snakes.”
“Snakes?” said Joshua. “Do you have enemies here?”
“Yes,” said Cyra, walking along the fringes of the pond. “My brothers are rather jealous of my newly appointed position. And knowing that, I think they might do everything to threaten me. And I believe that even the Templars would sooner know to find Silo.”
“What?” Joshua grew alarmed. “He didn’t know anything wrong? Why would they try to target him?”
“A way to control me,” Cyr said wearily. “Even though I am like this now, acting all regal and confident as if I had a new personality. The one that hasn’t change is my love for him. That’s why I implore you to go back to him. Please protect him. I would sleep easier knowing that you are with him.”
“Are they after him now?”
“I am afraid so,” she caressed her forearm. “That’s why it would be best if you can return back. I am going to give you a sky cruiser so you can return faster. I can offer you arms and protection if you need it. It’s the least thing that I can do for you.”
“Thank you, where is this sky cruiser? If you are right then I need to return as fast as possible.”
“It should on the landing platform. I’ve sent someone to guide you, knowing that you’d be leaving.”
“I appreciate it. And I’ll be taking a look at the weapons that you might give me. The fight in the fire choking point drained me all of the things that I have.”
“The fire choking point, you’ve been there?”
“It’s a long story. They can tell you about it.” he gestured at the group.
“I see. Oh, I need you to tell something else.”
“What?” Joshua said, his feet itching to leave.
“There’s someone that I’ve sent to keep the people that might harm him. If you’ve come to trouble then the pilot of the sky cruiser will send for them to help.”
“I see. Thanks.”
Cyra nodded. She turned to Abel. “Take him to the armory and give him whatever he wants.”
“Everything that he wants?” said Abel. “Is that wise?”
“I do not need to repeat myself.”
“Understood,” He bowed his head and gestured at Joshua. He followed Abel and stride out of the courtyard with utter haste. Cyra watched Joshua go. She clutched her chest and prayed that Silo was safe from harm.
