Chapter 86 – The Vileguard Templars (1)
Slowly, the rain was pouring down the plateau. The drops of water hit the ground forming mud, every single droplet creating this watery texture. A man clad in a raincoat looked at the misty forest. Beyond the forest was a giant abomination that stood stall among the forest. It had a giant metal head. Its body was comprised of butchered meat from various organisms that the abomination harvested.
The metal-headed abomination had this strange flare on its metal head. He didn’t know what the abomination was. But he can tell that was the one they were looking for. He and the others had been hunting the thing down. The others didn’t return and the only reason why he was still in this place was that of the Komodo dragon and the camp that was left behind. He was here as the Camp Keeper. He was the rider and he was waiting for them.
“What the hell is that?” said him. He looked at the abomination again. He had said that line for too many times already. He had been looking at this abomination who had been sitting for days around this hill of corpses. It was mutilating the corpses and using its beam a light at them that would then get devoured by this abomination. Each part that the abomination devours would be added to the abomination’s body. At first, it was only the body of a giant body of a High Ogre. But as the creature fixed the creature’s parts to its body, the High Ogre has started losing the read aura that surrounded it.
The red came from the War God of the High Ogres. As the body of the High Ogre changes the blessing of the War of God vanished. It didn’t recognize the body as a High Ogre anymore and was more of a being that shouldn’t exist. So instead of a blessing, the abomination received dark pungy curse that leeched the land of any green. The smell of blood. The toxic aura that the abomination was leaking made him, who watches from the distance, stay away from the abomination.

He thought to escape but he saw what happened when a deer tried to. The abomination scanned the deer with a blue light a blinding red light seared through the skin of the deer. The deer was charred, its gut sprayed on the ground, smoking black.
The abomination had enough range to snipe a deer far from away. The only reason why he was still alive was that of the location he was in. The plateau was covered in light mist that it was difficult for the abomination to find him. He was no fool. So he stayed on the plateau and used his rifle to watch the movements of the abomination with hawk-like eyes.
He watched the thing combine various animal parts into its body. He watched it become a disgusting monster to the point that it looked it was a monster from hell.
Then, it was that moment that made his jaws open wide. Past the area around the abomination, he saw black smokes from the sky. Ships made of unkempt metal floated through the air. He could recognize the fuel used. It was Lebon’s fuel that was made popularized by the Midland Engineers. But the ship that was floating towards the location of the abomination was something he never knew or has seen before.
He has heard of the flying airships that attacked Avilla City. He knew that they used what they call as air balloons to lift their ships up the sky and made use of runes. But the flying machine he was seeing was new to him. It was bulky and in the hull of the black floating ships was a black cross with a skull in the middle.
He didn’t know who the people are first. But he could tell that they are Templar’s. Only Templars use their holy symbol as their sigil. And he was right when he saw one of the men from the ship, which he thought must be the captain, walked with binoculars in hand to observe the humongous abomination that was crazily devouring the animals and dire monsters it captured and mutilated.

He watches the flying machine float. Then, the ship that numbered about ten extended long barrel that pointed to the Abomination. The Templars fired the cannons to the abomination, creating a smoking crater near the abomination. The abomination, however, was shielded by a blue dome. This blue dome protected the abomination from the artillery strike of the black-clad Templars
The Templars then saw that the abomination was moving. They noticed that the abomination was extending its sub-arms and with evasive maneuvers, the ships were able to narrowly dodge the searing laser of the abomination. The Templars main ship, which was also the bigger, led the ships into defensive positions while keeping the pressure on the abomination. The suppressive fire allowed the Templar’s to keep the abomination busy while behind the ships. There were Templars, who wore two tanks on their backs. One of the tanks was connected to their gas mask, while the other tube was connected to their charcoal colored rifles with drum magazines.
These black-clad Templars cleared the perimeter while their flying machines floated above them. After they were done clearing the area, the Templars guided another flying machine into the fringes of the land. Then, he saw them take parts that could only recognize as giant artillery cannons.
He has thought that he had seen amazing and disgusting. But the technology that these black-clad Templars wielded was much better than the firearms and artillery he had seen in his lifetime. In its own way, it was terrifying that a Legion of Black-Clad Templars had these kinds of weapons.
He had to know more so he made use of his scopes to seek what the name of the Legion was. It took him time but he was able to saw the words etched into their banner.
The Vileguards was the name of the black-clad legion of Templars.
