Chapter 67 – The Lost Shiva (8)
“Mutated mutants!?” The Commander rolled back. He kicked the blue-eyed creature away. It stumbled back but as it tried to pounce on the Commander. Archie pulled his rifle up and shot the blue-eyed monster in the chest. The blue-eyed monster got hurt.
‘They bleed!”
The Commander smiled at that. He pointed his left hand at the blue-eyed creature, releasing the gasoline to the fiend, burning it.
The blue-eyed creature roared in pain. It rolled twice in the ground before suddenly clenching both fists and screaming words that the Commander did not understand. Unknown power surrounded the blue-eyed creature. It bellowed the eeriest voice it could as it charges like a cannon firing towards the Commander. The Commander widened his eyes. He pointed his left palm at the creature.
The Creature halted mid-air. Then, it suddenly pirouetted out of the line of attack and was about to hit the Commander’s head. Luckily, the creature had its head blown apart by Archie.
The Commander stumbled. He looked at the blue-eyed creatures waking up. There were weakened creatures and using the chance he had. The Commander blew their heads apart with his rifle. The other creatures, however, managed to wake up and released this aura that made them charge like cannons.
One of the creatures tried to take the Commander’s head. But the commander rolled away just in time. However, he saw the metal plating behind him get caved in by the fist of the creatures. His breathing went heavy, his lungs felt like it got devoid of air as he realizes how absurdly powerful the creatures are.
“They have the strength of a Cagan High Warrior! What Gods have blessed these abominations!?”
“I don’t care! Just shoot them until they are dead,” Archie shouted while rotating the lever of his rifle. He aimed at the enemies. “They don’t care! And they won’t say who their God’s are!”

The Commander clicked his tongue as he rolled to the side. A creature pounced on him again. He uses both of his legs to throw the creature away, he then rolled sideways and shoot the creature in the throat. He stood up. He slid through cover and quickly rotated the lever of his rifle before shooting it again.
“I am out soon! Give me cover!”
Archie nodded his head. He took an explosive from his pocket and threw it at the enemies. The enemies, however, grab the explosive that he threw. Surprised, Archie bit his lip, as he shoots the explosive that was thrown at him.
“These guys have absurd reflexes! Fuck they are starting to learn!”
The Commander grimaced at that. He inserted the iron balls inside his rifles, and inserting powder inside, before priming it. He then pointed his rifle at the blue-eyed creature and started firing them. But the creatures have started to learn. They took cover and made use of the blue energy discharge they have to fire at them within a range.
Their attacks were Psion-based and it charred through the metal walls as if they were nothing but termite-ridden brittle wooden panels. The Commander swallowed hard. He still fired at the creatures, hitting some of them. The creatures looked at them with their blues menacingly glowing.
The blue-eyed creatures suddenly erupted into a sprint. The Commander stumbled back and kept his arms steady but it was useless. The blue-eyed creature broke the rifle apart with a chop. The Commander felt like his hands just met with something heavy. He tried blocking with his hands. But the creature’s shoulder tackle made his arms produce a cracking sound that made his arms hung broken in a different direction.
The Commander looked at the blue-eyed creature with his mouth open. Blood leaked out of his mouth as he then watches the blue-eyed creature pull his right arm back, punching a hole in his chest, breaking his spine in the process too. The Commander went limp and died right there.

Archie caught a glimpse of what happened to the Commander. Fear covered him, but his instincts made him reach to the flask of gasoline inside his pockets and threw them at the blue-eyed creature. He then produced fire from his hands using the runes while using the greaves he had to move away from the blue-eyed creatures.
The blue-eyed creatures were slowly learning. They chased after Archie around the big room while Archie tries to shoot them down. Archie felled five of the ten creatures. But the remaining creatures moved like they were getting better. They made use of the tubes as cover. They made use of their Psion-based powers to block some of Archie’s attacks. Some of the creatures used their Psion abilities to charge like a speeding bullet towards Archie. But Archie made use of the green runes attached to his greaves to fend them off.
The fight between Archie and the blue-eyed monsters were starting to get heated. But the creature seemed like they had a great stamina while Archie was getting exhausted. His breathing was heavy. His aim was starting to falter. But Archie couldn’t just stand there and die. He fought back. He made use of whatever he got until he felt that all the ammo he had was gone.
His rifle was empty. He made use of his pistol and tried to make it last. But the blue-eyed creatures were agile. And as they began to corner Archie, he started to break a sweat. His heart was pumping heavily and his ears felt like there was a constant ringing. Archie tried to focus. But the pressure that was amassing to him made him stumble. While running for his life he tripped and was flung back by the blue-eyed creature’s powers. Archie hit his head. Blood covered his left eye. He leaned his back trying to aim at the enemy. He shot. He rotated the lever of his pistol. He shot. He reloaded. He shot desperate as he took two down. The three creatures approached him while glowing blue.
Archie didn’t want to give up. Despite the meaningless resolve he had. He pointed his pistol at the enemy. The enemy seemed to have sensed his desperation. But they didn’t get cocky as they approached him. Archie took a shot. He tried rotating his pistol only to find out that was only one bullet left. He tried to shoot the bullet. But the blue-eyed creature thrust its palm towards Archie, hitting Archie with a gust of Psion wind that made him groan in pain as his back pounded on this metal tube.
But...the creature made a mistake. What the creature did broke something that Archie was leaning on. The metal tube opened. A figure with long silky blonde hair reaching down the back of her knees fell down in front of Archie. This figure wore an armor made of metal that acted as an exoskeleton.
Archie stared at the pale skinned woman. This woman looked at the creatures before her. An unknown voice resounded. It wasn’t the woman’s voice. It came from the suit of armor that she wore. Archie tried to speak. But the woman suddenly dashed to one of the creatures, grabbing its neck and choke slamming the creature, forming a crater.
