《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 275: Sadistic Cherubim

The creature that just finished evolving tried to rise up but found its new body unresponsive. ‘I need time to get used to this body. Who are these guys?’ it thought… then it noticed the carnage around it. It looked at these unknown beings and deduced that they were the cause of it.
Rage coursed through the heart of the evolved creature placing a smile on the face of the corrupted cherubim. The cherubim knelt down, faced the lying evolver with its goat face and said “It’s been a while Melgia” with a psychic message.
Melgia could not speak, his body wasn’t responding to him. The cherubim grinned when he noticed Melgia’s discomfort it said “I know, I know. You can’t speak, you can’t move, you can’t do anything; you’re handicapped. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Melgia the greatest satyr, leader of the mightiest horde, slayer of Unais, the one who evolved into the mightiest Celestial race, here you lie. Powerless, powerless against a bunch of low-lives who slaughtered your family and dispersed your horde; a tragedy!” the cherubim finished dramatically.
Melgia’s figure trembled in the eye of the cherubim, causing it to laugh mischievously. Melgia was an lanky demon with silver skin. He had glass orbs for eyes, a long reptilian tail and his feet where like the feet of a wolf. The cherubim’s IP denoted him as [Rank 25 Ancestral Demon] [Celestial] [Warning: Universe Royalty: The world is against you].
The cherubim watched as Melgia’s figure slowly rose. The dark energy that existed in abundance in the planet was drawn in by Melgia’s body. An aura of misery spread from his figure as the claws on his fingers and toes extended. The murderous intent coming from him was so thick it could be scooped.
He thought ‘It’s a good thing he got me angry. Whatever trick he used to paralyze me has now gone thanks to this race’s soul glyph. Now… how will I go on torturing him?’

Melgia had already dashed toward the cherubim who jumped back while flapping his wings.
“TING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The ring of metal hitting metal sounded as Melgia’s extended claws struck the sole of the cherubim’s raised hooves, sending him flying backward.
The cherubim balanced in the air as he continued to laugh causing Melgia’s veins to writhe in wrath. Thick navy blue exoskeleton grew from Melgia’s skin covering him. 2 pairs of arms extended, one from the top of his shoulders the other from the base of his chest. His muscles bulged as his 3 hearts beat in a mysterious rhythm.
“THOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
He dashed towards the cherubim again, this time with way more speed and power. His momentum dulled as his claws clashed with the wings of the cherubim that where wrapped in front of it.
“SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The wings screeched as Melgia scraped his claws across them while pushing the cherubim back. During this time the Cherubim’s comrade’s had not bothered to move from their original spot. Melgia had not managed to make the cherubim bleed.
Melgia took in a breath of the sulfur that played the role of air for their species and breathed out plasma. 3 more eyes appeared in an arc between his two eyes as his hulking figure shrunk.
The temperature around him dropped until the iron tunnels turned from red to silver. This change in temperature would have been fatal for most of the residents of this planet but it was just a byproduct of the energy reaction that was happening in Melgia’s body.
The pulsing of Melgia’s heart intensified, a surge of energy spread towards on of his palms as he pointed it toward the cherubim. The palm exploded into a pile of blue blood, silver bones and purple muscle before reforming into a jaw lined with several rows of trembling teeth.

A roar came out of the jaw releasing a wave of kinetic energy with various frequencies that disintegrated various forms of matter simply by passing through them. A sphere of unknown material expanded from the smiling cherubim’s head overlapping with the wave and freezing it in place.
It was the cherubim’s Reign. The sphere spread, covering Melgia but stopped before it reached the cherubim’s accomplices. Worms burst out of the mouth on Melgia’s arms choking it as they ripped into his skin, drank his blood and dined on his flesh. The worms’ presence didn’t allow the energy Melgia had gathered to flow right so his left shoulder bursts due to the energy backfire.
“BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Blood, bone, muscle and exoskeleton splashed out. The explosion ripped apart the other arms around his left shoulder, ate through his chest destroying one of his hearts, skinning his neck and cheek before he managed to contain it.
That amount of energy should have blown up a quarter of the planet but it just died down within the cherubim’s Reign. Melgia was confused, brown dotted cream worms began to grow out of his wound eating into his body. Melgia’s anger boiled over but it couldn’t bring him anymore power.
His race allowed him specific transformations depending on the emotion he was predominantly feeling and the intensity of that emotion. His martial art was magnificent; it allowed him to turn energy into biomass hence why he selected a race that had access to a host of different organs and cells: A perfect synergy.
The pain from the wound did not exist in Melgia’s mind; his race didn’t feel pain but their emotions were very deep and tended to take control of their decisions. So although the wound didn’t hurt the sudden backfire, his in ability to bring harm to the being that slaughtered his family and horde, brought him more pain than any wound could offer. He trembled as the notion that all his strength was pointless seeped into his mind. He cried out in a high pitched voice that featured many undertones, signifying his dread to those who heard his voice.
“You always did have such a beautiful voice” the cherubim said while wickedly snickering.
